Fairly nice walk out here to the point.
Wish I'd brought the bike though, I've developed a nice hole in my sock and it's really annoying me.
I'm definitely coming back here with the kayak for a day's exploration.
GPS reception under trees is awful so used a wide search, found it after several minutes.

A very nice walk out to this 1, GX was quiet so we could do a good search for this 1 – found after having a BIG fight with the local mozzies - TFTC / TFTH / SL
We looked for this one at night & couldn't find it. There were quite a few spiders around as well. Will try again during the day.
Nice quick find, had to come here with a title like that! thanks for the cache.

We had lunch here. AWESOME spot and cache was easy to find. Love seeing a larger cache
After a failed attempt to gather these caches on wednesday, 88jaz88, Patches108 and I set out. We went through Jesmond, to the UNI, Wetlands, Sandgate...had a quick stop at the floodgates and across to Ash Island. We had a fantastic time caching around the island...loved the scenic views and slightly rough trails. The places geocaching takes you!!! We had a brief lunch at the northen most point of our journey then continued on. I also admired the historical side of the island. We then jumped onto Tourle street where Jaz was swooped by a Magpie. Funny times!!! After that we headed to Army View where Patches and I both got a flat. We changed them under the bridge and continued on up it. Once at Stockton, we headed south on the cycleway and unfortunately Pat got two flats...one on each wheel what is the luck?? Jaz and I then decided it would be best to cut our losses so we rode out to get a few. We met back up at the ferry at 2 and went to the local bike shop (CFN) where they helped replace the tubes and we were on our way. At this point it was getting on 3 o'clock and we decided to make the dash home via a few unique areas. After a ride through carrington, islington, broadmedow via the small powertrail, I was back home.
Thanks to all cache owners for their time and effort in placing these awesome caches and showing us some great areas.

This cache was our lunch spot, and a beautiful spot it is. After an energy full lunch, we quickly located the cache.
Thanks for the cache Team - Tonka.
After a delayed start due to someone sleeping in (me), Cccritter7, 88jaz88 and I set off on our big trip. We headed through Jesmond and along the freeway. We stopped for a cache at the wetlands, then continued along to the Sandgate Cemetery. We picked up 2 caches along Maitland Road, then turned into Ash Island. We managed to pick up all the caches in Ash Island, also admiring the amazing views. We then headed to the Tourle Street Bridge, and headed along towards the Coal Terminals, picking up a cache along the way. We continued along towards the Dinosaur bridge, and picked up the first in the series of caches on the bridge. We went underneath, and after finding it, both Cccritter7 and I developed flats. We luckily were able to replace them, and continued up to the bridge, and along. We found the rest of the bridge series, and headed for Stockton. Unfortunately, after we found our first cache along the way, my back wheel had gone down. I pumped this up, then discovered my front was flat too! It looked like I had ridden through a patch of mutant cat-eyes when we pulled them out. I then walked the bike the 3-ish k's to the ferry terminal while the other two grabbed a few caches in Stockton. We reunited at the terminal, hopped on, then hopped off again in Newcastle. We went to a nearby bike shop, had my tires repaired, then we discovered 88jaz88 had a flat too! After having everything repaired, we followed the bike track from civic to Islington, picking up several along the way. We then got into Broadmeadow and onto the bike track, and we headed back to base. Unfortunately, I still had a way to go, but it was plenty of fun. 54kms, 5 punctures, plenty of caches and tons of fun!

Our 8109th overall find.
On my way to work this morning I thought I'd take a short walk to this one. I was expecting a fairly quick find but after 20 minutes I had given up and was walking away when I read another log and thought why not just one more try and made the find. The iPhone really didn't suit this one.
Thanks Team-Tonka for the cache.

After riding a lap around ash island the family returned to the point to have a picnic lunch. No one else nearby. Lovely secluded spot even on Father's Day. The cache took a little to find. I was looking in all the wrong places and had to extend my search area. Ended up being only 6m from our picnic rug. I will keep this area in mind for future picnics and fishing trips.
4th attempt thank heavens, 3rd attempt this morning had me looking NE as per PPrass log, got home and read more likely SW!! Pumped up the tyres on the Geobike and off again, easy when you know where, it is at least 3 metres SW the way I see it, fantastic to get that mongrel green box off my map, TFTC Team-Tonka!!
Drove up to the locked gate and walked the rest of the way up to Scott's Point. Didn't take too long to find the cache. Really happy to see this sort of cache container out here. Should be more of these types.
Enjoyed reading about the Scott's so thanks for bringing me out here.

A bit of a challenge a night, especially with the winds blowing... cold.
Got near GZ and realised we had to head into the shrub, well I decided again it was best idea to send the girl in first in case of spiders Had a bit of difficulty finding the container so I read the logs and noticed others said about 6m SW from GZ, so we headed in the direction and viola! Signed the log, got out of there and called it a night.

Freezing out here late at night. Once again I was sent in the trees first in case of potential spiders lurking. After about 5 mins searching we found it, pretty cool cache container. Signed the log and called it a night. TFTC ":)
So despite the GPS taking us all over the place, we eventually found this awesome cache, in a gorgeous area that we never would have discovered otherwise. TFTC!
After a lot of pointless searching i eventually grabbed a stick and started poking
Soon after we had the cache in hand
Nice hide

Found at 4:49 PM GAFF2. It was a race to get here before either the massive storm or the mozzies hit me. The mozzie cloud was as dark as the storm cloud btw [:(!]
I had been here once before and found the cache that was very difficult to locate as it had not been found for some time. This time it was a regular sized cache - thank goodness, but it still took a few circles to locate it. For some reason I was stuck on the NW corner of the arc and then after a while decided to search the NE corner and there it was - sitting safely to be found.
Thanks Team-Tonka.

Three days left to bag 1000 caches in our first year. This is 957.
A good chance to stretch the legs here as it was a 600m+ walk to GZ from parking spot. Such a nice picnic spot. Took a while to track this down as cache found a short distance off GZ, about 6m as mentioned in Cookies log. Nicely hidden cache it was too. Thanks jmd2290

Started to search then we must have disturbed a colony or twelve of mosquito's, ended up running out of the bush as these suckers hurt like crazy. Will return for this one after an aerogard bath and possible with guns from the size of them.
1250 GAFF2 Took a few laps around various spots the GPSr said the GZ would be, until finally taken close enough to find the nice sized container. Agree with someone else about being ~ 6m SW of GZ.
Left: pencil, blue Spiderman pen, smilie magnet, and a Correct Site Marker - surgical marking pen.
Cache nice and dry, so didn't have to leave a Ziploc bag.

A pleasant walk along the waterfront in the late afternoon, had me here just on sunset, which didn't make the search any easier. And the tree cover plays hell with GPS signal!
Afetr stumbling around for a while and going in and out of the trees several times to try for some triangulation, I finally discovered the cache, and then signed the log by torchlight.
I reckon the co-ords are pretty much spot-on.

Did find the container, but it appeared to be 6 Mts. SW from GZ Co-ords.
I did voluntary work on the Island for about 7 yrs and this had to be the pick of the places.
Apparently the house that was there, in its day out did Tomago House but it was bulldozed down and nothing remains other than a well in the back yard.
Thanks jmd2290 for getting me back there.

After searching for awhile with the coords jumping we found it 5m from where directed. Nice walk on the second day of spring.
The coms were down so I couldn't contact scotty to beam me up to the enterprise but I did drop off some travelers to contioune on there way.
Signed up to Munzee and got a ftf on that
Great spot for a good sized cache.

Looked 3 times here for the previous cache without finding it, But this cache i found straight away as it was sitting fully exposed and i spotted on my approach to GZ.
Had the Munzee app on my phone but wasn't sure how it worked, Scanned the code but what i done after that was obviously wrong as it didn't register anything .

We always love an excuse to come for a stroll on Ash Island. Just near the cache here's a honking great tree stump that's floated down stream and beached itself!
The Munzee in the cache hasn't been deployed as yet which was a bit disappointing. TFTC.

Tftc found after abit of searching. Notice that the old cache here was only 14 meters away from GZ
Reperio at 1145. FTF!
Happened to be out and about for a doctors appointment and lunch break from work when this one was published. With just enough time to drive out to Ash Island and walk to GZ, I grabbed lunch on the way and ate it on the walk to the cache. Always enjoy returning to this area, and a great to see another cache in this spot again. Great spot.
