Strategy and Poison Theory
This is a course at the Assassins' Guild school run by Mr Mericet. Mr Mericet is a master of one of the most terrifying teaching strategies of all, the age-old art of dark sarcasm. Pupils learn to fear not so much the inherent lethality of the subject matter (poisons) as the attitude and demeanour of their teacher. Survivors of dark sarcasm have indeed said afterwards that they would have preferred exposure to the poisons, as at least antidotes exist for most of those.

Thoroughly enjoyed the views of the Glasshouse Mountains on this hot day on this steep hill. Nearly lost my footing on a wobbly rock and was busy inspecting the wrong end when my nephew found it. TFTC, Brightskies. =^.^=

I was very happy to see a mown pathway down to GZ as going through head high grass really didn’t appeal. Arrived at GZ where my fellow Geocachers went one way and I the other and lucky for me I chose the right end. Cache was in good condition. TFTC

23-Dec-21
Probably not the best day to seek this one - in the middle of the day in the middle of summer - but we couldn’t leave the dot on our map so down we went. La Kedi and I headed, of course, to the wrong end to start our search giving The Marble the opportunity to find the cache. TFTC Brightskies

TFTC. We had stayed in Dayboro after the mega to complete the various geo-arts in the are as well as find other caches in and around the area. This morning with miff1 we completed the Love Geo series and the Geosaurus. We now planned to head toward the Agatha Christie series. On the way we made sure to stop at various caches rather than pass by.

11-Apr-21
We made the decision to spend another week at the Dayboro showgrounds to give ourselves the opportunity to find more of the many caches that have been placed in the area. The area is still showing signs of all the rain we have had recently with the creeks flowing fast, today we did not need to negotiate roads with water over them. We found all of the caches that we attempted today. We felt we were very high with great views but the map told us that we were not that high. As we used to live in FNQ at an altitude of 880 m todays altitudes were peanuts. SL TFTC

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. Apologies for the generic log (unless further comments required) but we got through a LOT!!

Day 1 of the GOM invasion of Qld. B@W I were the advance party and targeted as many Dayboro caches as ppssible in an attempt to achieve types in a day and 100 finds in the day with our guest member Bahumbug. In between intermittent torrential rain we jumped in and out of the car all day for lots of great fun & finds.
All caches were in good condition.

Found this cache as part of our Easter long-weekend road trip to the Dayboro mega event. A great adventure and plenty of finds, teamed up with Wilbert, Mizmaz and steeba for this roadtrip.
Many of our logs are signed with "Gong gang" to represent all four of us who were present. Apologise for the boiler style log.

Passed 2 suspicious looking characters just as we started to GZ
Thanks for the cache.

03-Apr-21
After converging on Dayboro for the Mega Event, The Rats, Wilbert67, mizmaz and steeba combined together to form the 'Gong Gang'. We spent many hours prior to the event solving puzzles and today we were out and about in the showers finding the hides. Plenty of work went into things and sorry for the more generic log. Some great adventures were had. TFTC!

Start of my generic logs I guess.
Well, I didnt think it was all going to come together but it did.
The guys from Sydney cancelled then came again.
Out with PPE and B at W and sometimes the MEGATRONS CBBPT.
The MEGATRONS started back at Casey Fields in 2015, Got rebooted in 2017 at Lake Eildon and its been a few years since more than two members have been at the same mega and caching together...so the MEGATRONS live on in 2021...even after covid.

Lovely job of the Horses Head....

At the end of our lovely drive around the Dayboro area today, just before sunset we came to visit here. The glasshouse Mountains look beautiful in the distance, and in the dusk I think it’s an alpaca I can see on the top of a nearby hill, watching us from a distance. This is a very peaceful and quiet location. No wonder you love to visit here! Thanks for showing us this beautiful spot. Log signed

Out with Chamad for half the day today. It was a bit of a late start, but we still managed 16 finds.

The day started at Wamuran after catching up with Grannysmith1947 to grab a cache with her. Once we finished up Chamad and I were discussing where we should go next. He said he needed a few more caches towards the north to fill in his 360 from home, so that's when we decided to head towards D'Aguilar, Mount Mee and back down to Dayboro.

Most finds were pretty straight forward, some were a bit of a struggle, but that's part of the game. There was plenty of people around, which is to be expected at the moment as they've eased back on the restriction.

I've forgotten how beautiful this area is, I don't come this way very often, so it's great to be able to escape the city live and spend a few hours out in the country. The recent rain we had not long ago has really brought this area back to life, everything is so green and bursting with life. It was a great day to be outdoors today, plus it wasn't hot either, which is always welcome.

Find #902 - TFTC

03-May-20
Out with GeoNayfee for the afternoon collecting some valuable target caches and a few as we passed by. We started at Wamuran head up to D’Aguilar and then down to Mt. Mee. It was a late start to the day but we still got a few in for the day. I was sitting at home when I got a call from GeoNayfee hey I’m going to do a few caches want to come along, how can I say no.
This was the fourteenth for the day and a fun one to do. We parked at the top of the hill and walked down the 100 mtrs or so to GZ. It was nice how there was a mown path for us. The cache was quickly found and in good condition. We quickly signed the cache and said let’s do 1 more for the day so we were soon on our way again.
Thanks for placing the cache here for us all.

After setting up camp at the Dayboro showgrounds for a few days we are having a wonderful time meandering around this beautiful area. A wonderful variety of hides and we love the creative ones. The scenery to the Glasshouse mountains and coast just stunning. We much appreciate the effort put in to arranging the puzzle caches. Thankyou Brightskies for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area Big GrinBig Grin

Hi there Brightskies.

Today's venture had us heading out from our camp at Dayboro Showground to spend a afternoon caching with Liz & Bruce. All up we found 31 caches & DNF'd 0 in the cache run.

Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia. Thanks also for not placing a mint tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this "special" cache here.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache about 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Out on a Wacky Wednesday caching with NyssaFlutterby today, clearing out the last of our Dayboro caches.
This was a solo one for me, as Nyssa had done this one - FTF of course - tho she did wander down with me to keep me company, and to check out the views she didn't get to see at crazy o'clock on the FTF run. Loved the letterbox the local firies have here too!
Thanks for the cache Brightskies.

Thought I would wander up to Mt Mee this morning and visit Bull Falls, which has ben on my to do list for a while. On the way I decided to collect a few solved puzzles and other incidental caches along the way, such as this one.

Seems like a nice place for an afternoon (or an evening or even a morning!) of extravagant delight. Sneaky glimpses of a few of the Glasshouse Mountains was a little unexpected.

Thanks BrightSkies

It was a wonderful morning so far and I was enjoying a day off from work and the solitude in the country . The gps wasn’t 100% working here but I saw some baby llamas on my way here! Cute

I came to the end of James St and wandered down the hill. It was a bit misty over the Glasshouse but still a fabulous view up here. Loved the cache too .

Signed the log and replaced as found.

On the way home now after some geosaurus hunting among other adventures and the name of this cache sparked our interest. It should be just the right time of day for this extravagant delight. We parked near the fire brigade shed and strolled down the track.
Great views to the coast, but unfortunately some cloud cover prevented the nice golden colours coming through the trees that were described.
Quick find once at gz and lifting the right odd rock.
Interesting cache container, not sure if we've seen one of these before. Took glowy gat, left rainbow bouncy ball.
A nice spot to end our caching day at 16 caches, including 6 puzzles which is close to some sort of record for us.

I was out caching with Selva Girls in the area today, and both of us had added this cache to our list of ones to find. We parked as close to gz as we could and wandered down the hill. Looking across the hill we saw several extremely cute llamas grazing. Forgetting how sound carries I exclaimed "Look at the llamas!" to Selva Girls, and 3 paddocks away they all put their heads up and stared at me. Never been stared down by llamas before Razz The cache was a quick find thanks to the hint, and we took our time enjoying the vista before getting back in the car to continue our day. Tftc Brightskies!

Thanks for this one nice little walk and it is a gentle slope compare to other areas in Dayboro

23-Apr-17
We parked at the top of the hill and our GPS told us we only had 90m to travel to the cache. From the entrance it looked like a leisurely stroll down a mown path. My wife decided she would stay in the car and it proved to be a great decision. After we found the cache we turned around to notice how steep the return journey was. I'm sure it wasn't this steep on the way down.

I've climbed K2 and Everest (in my dreams when I was a scout) and neither of those dreams were exhaustive as this brief stroll back up the hill. A couple of quick breaths to slow down the heartbeat and a moment to enjoy the view. tftc

This Day in History
Thursday, June 28, 1838. : Queen Victoria is crowned in Westminster Abbey, a year after her accession to the throne.

England's Queen Victoria was born on 24 May 1819 at Kensington Palace in London. Although christened Alexandrina Victoria, from birth she was formally styled Her Royal Highness Princess Victoria of Kent. Victoria's father died when she was less than a year old. Her grandfather, George III, died less than a week later. Princess Victoria's uncle, the Prince of Wales, inherited the Crown, becoming King George IV. When George IV died in 1830, he left the throne to his brother, the Duke of Clarence and St Andrews, who became King William IV. Victoria was recognised as heiress-presumptive to the British throne, and in 1837, at the age of 18, she succeeded her uncle, William IV, to the throne to become the last monarch of the House of Hanover.
Victoria was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 28 June 1838. Although respect for the Crown had waned in preceding years, Victoria proved to be a popular Queen who was well informed of political matters and worked well with Lord Melbourne, Prime Minister in the early years of her reign. Victoria's 64-year reign was marked by enormous growth and expansion of the British empire.

While in the area, it made sense to check this one out. Despite this being a gazetted road, I walked instead of 4wding in order to keep the neighbours happy. Glad I did, managed to snap a cute wallaby before he/she hopped off.

Once at GZ a quick find was made, all is well with this container. This cache adds to our total of 2112 smilies, thanks Brightskies for showing us this spot. Discover our trackable.... TGQNRV

We, George and Mrs George both had a free day, so decided to visit the nearby prize home for a sticky beak. Of course, just had to check out a couple of caches on the way. From the 'car park' at the top of the hill, it was obvious from the magnificent sweeping view that the multiple radio communication antennas around were in a good spot.
A meander down the hill soon had the cache close to hand, and the log signed. We always tell folk that caching is a wonderful way of finding beautiful places that you wouldn't normally see because they are a little bit out of the way, and this was no exception.
Didn't have time to stop and read, but appreciate the thought. TFTC, Brightskies.
