I have had this one on my watch list since before it was archived. I had attempted to find it once when waiting for my daughter to finish rowing, but simply too many muggles!
I came by today for another go, and other than the lady with her dog having a swim there was none around. I made myself comfortable on a rock until they left. Before to long I was all alone and began my systematic search. Found a very very wet cache, and brought it home to dry it out. I will return it soon, and maybe as it is close to home, will have a new one published in its memory.
Thanks for the cache, nice spot!

Dropped in here to see if this was still here and geopartner came up with the find.
Signed the paper that the last cacher had placed in the cache and returned the cache to its hide.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks frecklespatrol All good with this archived cache but wet log.

cache find # 1617. We were nearby and had just found our cache for the day, so decided to try and see if this one was still here. We searched for a few minutes, and then Mr T54 come up with the cache. The book was damp, so we signed a piece of our own notepaper and placed that in a small bag into the cache. TFTAC
I was in the area and I still had to get a find for my cache of the day and the only other one in the area that I haven't found was obstructed by workmen so I looked around to find one that I could get. I had this one in my GPS as an archived cache which I had determined was still findable so I decided to give it a try.
The gate at the top of the hill was locked so I had to skid down the hill to get to the cache.
Once I was at the search area it didn't take long to uncover the cache. The log book was very damp but the other contents had dried out. I managed to sign the log and I replaced it without putting the logbook in the ziplock as I think it will dry out better without it. I also removed the outer plastic bag as it suits no purpose.
I would have replaced the log if I had one with me but I wasn't prepared for finding an old cache.
A great spot for a cache. It is a pity that it has been archived. I'm sure that you could get it reactivated by contacting reviewer.

One or more of the following has occurred:
No response from the cache owner.
No cache to find or log to sign.
It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.
As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.
If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 28 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.
Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

It's still there!! Log very damp but signable. Finally able to rid this one from the map close to home. Tftc
Poor old thing is sopping wet, new log desperately needed. Had to wait for some lads to leave the jetty, but after that - not a soul in sight. Thanks for taking me yet again to somewhere I have never been even though I live 2 mins down the road. Took a pin for my collection and left a keyring.
Another beautiful spot I never knew existed. An easy walk and find but yes log needs replacing desperately! I did sign it however. Now the walk back up the hill is another thing, puffed.
Kids were v excited to be out and about again. This one had them looking all over the place but we eventually found it. Log book is saturated - too wet to write in. Cache is in need of maintenance - wet and muddy. Love that spot on the river! TFTC.
In serious needs of maintenance, the bag containing the log was full of water!
TFTC. Spent the afternoon geocaching and exploring another suburb. What a great area.
Found with most of PJATPAC and geoson. I agree with the PJATPAC log. This one is not in a good state at all. Also, the placement in a water way may see this requiring continual maintenance.
Anyhow, thanks for all the local caches frecklespatrol!!

Mr Meerkat and I and selected geokids headed over to this one. It wasn't without its doubts on whether this one would remain. Looks like there's been a lot of water through here, and the rocks, after all, are there to slow the flow.
We searched around for a few minutes wondering if it was under the heavy silt. We decided to make a PAF, when the cache was found. Isn't that the way, a PAF exponentially increases the likeliness of finding the cache before advice is given.
This one had seen better days. We did what we could to device it, but it's damp, muddy and grotty. I took the pathtags and patch. The write in the rain paper meant we could still etch something in the log.
Anyway, it's still there! I moved it slightly, towards the concrete aggregate rock in the hope it will see less water & silt... Hope that's ok.
Cheers frecklespatrol

Thanks to young old fella for helping us out on this one. I was just away for work overseas and couldn't get to this one!!
Found at 1700 with the family whilst playing with the remote control cars. Having read the previous found logs I came prepared to do a full replacement.
Replaced container, log book and contents. Old log book is mush. Only contents in original container were many marbles Took these away. New container has a write in the rain paper log book. Left some of my pathtags and other swaps. Old container had a split, I suspect from having a rock placed back too heavilly.
May I suggest cache owner just enters a maintained log to let the reviewer know.

3rd and final find today 12/12/12 - out with Muggle mum, geobaby, Gambler2000 & D-Man2006
On the way down to GZ we spotted a juvenile blacksnake slither down the drain right at the entrance of the rowing shed... creepy.... kept on walking to GZ and spent about 5 mins searching the many many rock piles before the muggle within us spotted it... outsmarted by a muggle, how embarrassment ;P
Tried to sign log but it is soaked and dripping, needs to have some maintenance, possible new container needed, logbook definitely needed!

Found by Sunshine Toledo and Jinga2 at 4:10pm. The cache took a few minutes to find but the log is soaking wet and needs drying out. There was water inside the container. TFTC
This one's been on my radar for a while, but has always had muggles around it when I've tried to tick it off my list. I had a few spare minutes so did a quick drive-by, thinking there would be people around on this hot afternoon, but found the place abandoned. Had the place to myself to search, which helped as I needed a few minutes to find the cache. Eventually located it, signed the log and was on my way. TFTC!
The river was quiet today and we were free to search. Even the plovers left us alone! Took quite a hunt before Loki discovered the hiding spot. Thanks frecklespatrol
Great location! Found easily using the new coordinates with Pureluck77 and tadpole3
Coordinates changed from:
S 27° 33.804 E 152° 53.907
Coordinates changed to:
S 27° 33.803 E 152° 53.915
Distance from original: 43.5 feet or 13.2 meters.
Just updating co ordinates from the feed back. The troubles of an iPhone as a GPS device.

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Ahhh we had heard about the shenanigans on this one previously, and when we arrived at the area, GZ was not matching the hint... We soon spotted the updated co-ords by Captain Terror, and moved in for the search. A short time later, we had the cache in hand, and our names in the logbook.
Given the coordinates are out by a fair bit, we would recommended the owner place an "Updated Coordinates" log with the numbers above.

Last time I came here looking for caches this infrastructure didn't exist. I must get out more! Clearly a fairly new place with lots to do once the volunteers get a chance. No swaps today, but TFTC.
I had to tick this day of my calender with a find and this cache was my target. It was dark by the time I arrived. I made my way to GZ and whipped out my phone to aid me with some light in my search. I quickly located the cache and signed the log. I think I was lucky as there are many rocks to check and the night did not help. GZ is in view of a few houses so I quickly made my way back up to the car left. TFTC
I am staying at a friends place nearby so headed around to grab this one.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Out on the southside collecting some smilies
A few fellas were fishing nearby, but they didn't seem to care about me. I had a bit of trouble at GZ, as the GPS and Hint didn't match up, so I made use of a previous finders co-ords. Then a little search soon revealed the cache. TFTC, frecklespatrol.

Nice spot on the river lots of work has been done since the flood came through. We walked to GZ from car park heaps of activity everybody busy rowing and talking on the pontoon so decided to have a rest & enjoy the view. Was able to carefully remove the cache and signed the log TFTC
This was our seventh and last cache for the day. Took kcsfinch out to show him the ropes, he proved to be more than capable spotting several including this one before me. We had to play possum for a while as a car pulled up at the top of the hill and sat watching. They moved off and we moved to GZ. Thanks frecklespatrol
It was looking like we would need to turn over several hundred rocks to locate this one. However found it with careful observation. Might be a little wet at high tide.
A new icon on the southside - that got my attention, but not moreso than a mention of the frivolities surrounding the FTF here. After class today I headed out to check this one out. A nice drive and as I arrived, the gates were open, so I parked down the bottom. The school group were carting canoes down to the water, but paid me no attention as I took photos up and down the river. I wandered to my GZ, but it was an unlikely spot. Instead of fossick about, I decided to read previous logs, and that put me in the right spot, about 15m from where the GPS wanted me. I took a seat and spotted the container. I sat and signed as the GPS recorded some numbers that worked for me today. I replaced it and noted the paver marks GZ nicely.
A bit of a look around and a few more photos before a celebratory banana in the car overlooking the Brisbane. A very nice spot, thanks for bringing me here - makes me want to go paddling again. TFTC frecklespatrol

Instead of heading out to the Ekka, I decided to do the much more pleasant task of finding some GCs! I was daunted by this one at first, but it ended up being no real fuss at all.
I dropped by on my way home from work, to tick the day off in my finds calendar. I was lucky the area was clear when I arrived, except for a couple of kids in the park at the top of the hill but they were unable to see what I was up to...
I followed the GPS but it put me on the grass, with only one option that would offer a hiding spot... Hmm, This could take a while... GPS in pocket and into the hunt. No container to be found though... HUH... [?]
I checked the hint and that put me in the same place. Then I thought hang on, I bet that first layer was not counted or not visible when the cache was placed so I relocated and found the container in a few seconds... Business done, I tucked things away and added some more natural camo to the hiding spot. I could see the container without moving anything which may see it get muggled, we don;t want that right...
I agree with the previous finder that this would be the third layer. The first is on the waters edge. I also found that the coords were 12m out for me when I hit GZ. Not unusual if a Smartphone was used to mark the location but worth noting for future finders.
Cheers frecklespatrol

Used to come down here where growing up as unruly teenagers! It has been completely had its landscape changed but is now a nice park.
Last time I saw down this end of Sumners Rd was in the Jan 2011 Floods and the rowing club's shed was completely under water.
I had to log this as a DNF after searching this morning, but received an email from the cache owner that the previous finder had placed it back in a different location.
I did notice the 'obvious' clue as Teamtinda found but the cache wasn't there. But thought that was a red herring as in my counting that place is the 3rd barrier. (Seeing the first depends on the time of day you go.)
After getting the new information I had it in my hands in about 5 mins but there is no way I would have found it otherwise. After scribbling my name, I placed it back in its original intended location.

Found with goldielover. We arrived at gz to see some muggles already at the spot. Recognised them as the geosapien family. They were very busy searching around. We joined in thinking this should not take too long. Bit of a surprise though, Took quite awhile to locate it. We had all but given up when we got a call.
Signed the log and replaced it for others to find.
Thanks frecklespatrol for a great cache. And it was nice to catch up with fellow cachers .

A nice cache to end the day down by the Brisbane river. After this one popped up earlier in the week while Geo dad was away we were keen to tick this one off the local area map.
After a play in the park nearby with the Geokids we took the short stroll down the hill to GZ. We soon began our search when we recognised the the familar sight of Goldielover, Stairman1 and Geodog Zac.
While we searched and chatted the sun started to go down the kids had long lost interest in find the cache. This was taking longe than we thought it would. We looked here, there over there under this all to no avail.
Finally Geomum have the call and the cache was in her hand. Amazing how you can look over something, and then when some else looks they spot it. Glad you were there mum, I was about to DNF.
With the log signed by all we head off up the hill.
I hope it doesn't get washed away
TFTC frecklespatrol a tricky little hide.

Found with Stairman1, geodog and geosapien family .
We weren't quick enough the other night to grab this one and from reading Teamtinda's log we were lucky we didn't So this afternoon we arrived at the gz. There were plenty of muggles around packing away the canoes after a day of canoeing. Getting closer to the cache we saw some muggles who looked familiar. Geodog took off and greeted the geosapien family . So together our hunt started. This one proved tricky and little by little the little geosapiens lost interest and so did geodog. He found the water more interesting to swim in .
We all hunted high and low and just as we were about to give up, Mrs geosapien yelled out "found it" . We had all looked there previously but not hard enough . We all signed the log then it was placed back again. With the task done we all headed back to our cars with dirty kids and a dirty dog .

Good to see my reputation precedes me Glad to hear Mr. Fuzz still finding our game dodgy
*FTF*. What a night! It began with an FTF at 'Witton Creek', after which I detoured to pick up the long awaited 'Innumerable Baron Took Tin'. I figured some other cachers who live much closer and seem to have no fear of late night sprints would have picked up this one first, but I felt pretty pumped after two good finds, so decided to wander over. The notification said this cache was at Bellbowrie - thank goodness I looked closer before racing off to the wrong side of the river!
I've been down Sumners Rd many a time, but never all the way to this spot. As I surveyed the scene, I was actually disappointed to be there at night - it promises to be spectacular by day.
I'm aware of some of the history of this rowing club and I rowed at school, so I congratulate all involved with its birth and rebirth.
I walked down the long way along the path, hoping the neighbours wouldn't be calling the cops to report the late night visitor. Everything was very still and calm.
I strolled over and couldn't decide immediately how to interpret the clue, so peered at a few spots. Suddenly I saw something quite obvious and sure enough, it was what I wanted. I was surprised and pleased to find myself FTF after all, and also enjoyed grabbing the square Geocoin. I put it all back together and gave it a bit more cover - I hope it survives for a long time, but I guess there is some risk right here.
I walked up the short way and drove off, just as a police car arrived. Uh oh. They circled around and followed me along for a while, and then, sure enough, pulled me over. I had a bit of a silly grin on my face as I wondered how they would take my account of my activities. They breathalysed me (all clear, of course) and asked what I was up to. I began to explain the game, when the taller man mentioned he'd had this explanation from someone else before.
"Was that under a bridge, by any chance?" I asked. "A guy wearing a pilot uniform?" When he said yes, I knew I was in the clear and couldn't resist smiling some more. [For those admiring my psychic powers, see Captain Terror's log for 'Below the Shags' (GC3GK95) on 2 May 2012.] After a few more pleasantries, I was on my way home. All good fun, and thanks for letting me see the Centenary shed up close. I look forward to seeing it again in daylight!
