We parked about 350m away and wandered in. Then the GPS said we need to charge the batteries. It's not a nice feeling when you have walked out of sight of your car and every tree looks the same as the next one. However we always come prepared with more batteries and we could work out where we were with our phones if needed. No tracks in that we can see but plenty of evidence that is been logged. This is an old cache dating back to 2012.
Day 5 of my WAGB23 trip. My final day and with the rain pelting down I am forced to slow down today. This however will not stop me grabbing a few more hides while in the area. Many thanks briantbg for placing this hide for me to find and adding to an awesome weekend at WAGB23. This will be my 6475 find.
Down in Narrogin for the 10th anniversary of WA Goes Big! What a relief it is being away from the city for a few nights. As expected it was a busy weekend of caching and this meant driving to all corners of the shire and beyond. Picked up plenty of cache and hopefully will be back soon to clear off the rest of the map. Thanks to West Oz Geocaching for a great weekend of events!
Back out in the Wheatbelt for an extended long weekend, attending the WA Goes Big 10th anniversary event in Narrogin. Hoovered up plenty of new caches in both Narrogin and surrounding districts, and had a great time with fellow cachers. Thanks to West Oz Geocaching for organising another ripper event! Caches signed through the weekend as ‘CC’ (meaning Cockburn Crew) to save space on logbooks. Cheers briantbg!
Out and about again with the Cockburn Crew, a massive and tiring day. Started with a run to do the Colour of Narrogin series and to the Hall for meeting, solve the final and ran back to find it. Did the Adventure Labs before doing the Puzzle Room (the highlight of the day). Then headed to Dryandra area and some local town hides before going to the CITO. Next stop was the next meeting and finishing with some night hides.
Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today
Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Our last day of being locked down in the Wheatbelt, we decided on a road trip south to find a few caches... After visiting the village we made our way over to this one doing a loop around the bush tracks Had a nice stroll over to this one for a quick find before continuing on the little track towards Dryandra Road.
TFTC briantbg Cache was in good condition.

We hadn’t been on a road trip for a while so the long weekend provided an opportunity to do a bit of planning and set a course for Katanning. After a restless night in the tent due to rain and wind we were up and on the road early heading towards home. This cache was one we had targeted for the trip. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there briantbg, I was in this area today and found your cache icky No9 GC3REQ4. I added my name to the log book at 1:24 pm on 1 March 2020. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

Hi there briantbg. This cache was found in company with Team Gypsys, during an unexpected stop-over in Narrogin - I had lost a wheel off my caravan and the resulting damage has caused the stopover. The container and log are in good condition - SL.. Thanks to briantbg for this cache - our find #6172.
Day 2 of the Holland Track Adventure
This trip had been on my 'Wish List' for some years
The problem was Logistics
I had to get the timing right...…….So many Variables!
Weather
The best time of year is after winter to avoid the very worst of the cold and wet, and before the weather gets too hot in summer
We were very fortunate to get nice warm sunny days and mild nights with no rain, the track was mostly dry and the deep mud puddles could easily be skirted around on dry tracks
Company
I did not want to tackle the track on my own as my vehicle is not fully set up for hard core 4 wheel driving, no winch or high lift kit which would be advisable, especially after rain
Luckily I found a group of other geocachers who were planning to tackle the track and I quickly agreed to join in the group
Today was the day
After spending many hours the previous afternoon removing all my work tools and other stuff out of my vehicle and packing in all my camp gear, I was ready to go early in the morning
Stopping to fill up with fuel on my way out of town then continuing on to pick up my passenger Mistraluna
While we had discussed a rough plan of finding caches on the way to Hyden I was not prepared for the coming adventure that this day would prove to become
Luckily we had all day today and tomorrow to get to Hyden where we would meet up with the other members of our party
On the way we stopped to top up with fuel and headed for our first cache of the day
From the fuel station we drove east to Pinjarra then on Pinjarra - Williams road, through Dwellingup, continuing east until we reached the power line road just past East Boundary rd. We made a left turn here and started heading north
The road was quite good and I did not need to use 4 wheel drive
I was thrilled to see a great number and variety of wild flowers along the roadside which I had not seen before
Day 2, Cache 4
An interesting route to our next cache took us through the dryandra forest along well maintained roads, numbats scurried across the road in front of us and we came across a group of Europeans on tour to photograph wildlife with enormous lenses.
We took a side track of the main road and headed for GZ, there were many twists and turns on a fairly rough and sometimes washed out track with vegetation scraping down the sides of the hilux but we soon got close enough to jump out and head cross country for a few hundred metres to find the cache. Signed the log and headed back to the car to cool down in the aircon as the day was starting to heat up even early in the morning.

Life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately, with two trips to Borneo in the past few months, followed straight after by the WA Goes BIG 2018 event down in Dunsborough without even unpacking my bags properly. It was while helping out at the BIG event that I was lucky enough to hear about an upcoming geocaching adventure tackling the Holland Track, an experience I thought I would never be able to be part of, being a single woman without a real 4wd of my own. But the planets aligned for me that weekend and the offer was extended by SeabreezeOZ that I was more than welcome to come along. And of course I just had to say yes, yes, yes!!
So the wheels were set into motion, and yesterday was the first day of our grand adventure. We got as far as Gnaala Mia Campsite in the Dryandra Woodland before running out of daylight. As expected, the night time temperature out there was very cold, but at least we didn't get rained on. After packing up and hitting the road again, this was one that we were determined to come and find, taking a somewhat convoluted path to reach gz, and not without spotting some interesting wildlife {numbats crossing the road, foreign tourists toting extremely large and expensive camera equipment, kangaroos grazing by the roadside, a very large perentie (racehorse goanna) sunning itself across the track} and then picking up an unpleasant hitchhiker along the short hike to or from gz (yes, I got another tick! Hate the little suckers!!) Anyway, no problems finding this cache, and once the signing duties were done, we replaced the cache with a little natural camo before moving on to the next one.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to come and find briantbg.

I definitely took the wrong route, got some great scratches on my car and ended up in a farmers crop. It was fun though:)

Not sure if we picked the right route but found the the cache right on GZ. Thanks for the cache.
A quorum of the Fott was here so we are retrospectively claiming the find. If that's an issue let us know.
Headed out over the long weekend with Granett and Kyzabra for a bit of camping and a lot of caching.
Trying to have a big day or two knocking of the LGA series, and a few others.
Drive as close as we could then walked the 300 odd metres to the cache. All in good order.
briantbg SVKR_WA found your cache on 5 Mar 2018 at 07:59:31.
The log was signed and the cache replaced.
This find brings my find count to 2839
Thanks for placing this cache and contributing to this great game

Had a big day out with SVKR_WA & Kyzabra on the LGA series yesterday and after camping for the night in Congelin we picked up a few more smiley's about the place on the way home.
A bit of a stroll to this one, a nice walk in the bush. Cache found without problems.
briantbg I found your cache at 7:59am, this was the 3rd of 9 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 4676. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

After a big day yesterday on the LGA trail in Boddington, we camped up in Congalin. A few drinks and story telling before hitting the hay and heading out today. We had a rough plan to get the nearby caches and make our way home picking up more on the way.
Parked about 300metres away and wandered up for a nice easy find.
briantbg, Kyzabra found your cache icky No9, the cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

After finding the cache on the Kawana Walk we headed to this cache. Parked just 250 mts to make a quick stroll through the scrub to gz. Thanks briantbg
I woke up at dawn, so I decided to take a stroll from the Lions Dryandra Village and it was very peaceful indeed, not a soul to be seen. I was really pleased to see the container when I arrived - a sign of human life. TFTC briantbg
Stayed the night at Gnaala Mia, out early to get some caches. Nice brisk walk to get this one. TFTC
Nice trek into the bush! Could have been hidden better, we placed a ribbon you bell in! Tftc!
Spent a lovely cool Thursday off amongst clear blue skies in the bush with Barnzy12 chasing down some elusive caches that have always escaped the radar around the rural towns of dwarda, boddington, wandering and a few others.
We had our eyes on nabbing a FTF son a cache in wandering which we had noticed was available on Monday evening but decided to leave the chase for today, we figured people wouldn't be crazy enough to go for it on a weekday and luckily we were rewarded there.
We continued around finding a bunch of other caches around wandering before moving to codjadotine and then venturing grabbing various bush caches which really was the order of the day with some nice walks through pristine untouched bush.
We continued around with one of us having to get the shoes off and the feet wet to grab a nice t3 cache and collected a few more caches that have been very unloved (twelve plus months) which was nice.
We managed to cleanup a number of caches today which helped our stats page out heaps! We filled in a jasmer grid with the fire lookout dryandra cache, a large with the adventure out mystery cache, a FTF and even some unloved caches with a total of two years unloved found today which is always a pleasure.
Thanks for making us stop and slow down to explore an area of Western Australia we have travelled many many a time but never stopped to fully explore and appreciate. Some individual comments in the logs. Thanks go to the local COs for a great day out.

Found on a country drive cache hunt! Found with Peppergirl, Rifus and Lab Mouse. TFTC! Nice walk!
Out exploring the area while staying at the nearby Lion's Village this is one of the caches we found in the area....
Not to sure what makes this cache icky but it was a pleasant stroll to GZ where a quick find was made. After trading a whistle and marble for a jumpy frog it was soon time to stroll back to the car.
Thanks briantbg cache is in good condition.

GPS had me going around in circles but we got there in the end. A pleasant walk to GZ from the boundary road. TFTC
Searched in bush opposite cows GPS sent me around and around incircles late pm so gave up
Camped at Yornaning Dam for the weekend. Well maybe not camped as we were in our Caravan. It was the cat's 2nd trip away from home as we attempt to teach her that home is now on wheels in our preparations for tripping around Australia.
We decided we needed to find a cache this was the closest so off we set 22km, accompanied by Mrs Felix muggle parents.
On arrival muggle mum stayed in the car (too far to walk in this cold)
Quickly spotted the cache on arrival signed the log then hiked back to the car.
Looking forward to catching up with other cachers at WA goes BIG in 2013 - GC45X55

I have always loved this area and today was no exception with a pleasant stroll from the track to GZ. GPS took us right to GZ for once and it was a quick find and another Joint *FTF* with Gwiber. Now for the long drive back to the city. We enjoyed both days but have told Gwiber to use her own petrol if any more get published down this way.
Thanks briantbg for the cache.

Another trip down south this afternoon after Chwiliwr finished work as I could not let these go.
I'm banned from coming down here again if any more are published, at least if Chwiliwr is driving
Thanks for the cache
