Found this one difficult. I got some of the math wrong, which through me off. I contacted a previous finder to rectify my problems which led to a quick find.

Got a heads up from PAF on the solved coordinates for this one last night as I had read in the logs how overgrown things were, but managed to go to each of the waypoints anyway to get most of the info we needed. It’s so curious that they are there but you just wouldn’t know unless you explored the area!
Really enjoyed this one, and it’s a super oldie which makes it very special. Giving a FP for the hidden history aspect and the nice ammo can hide. Thanks for telling us the history at the end.

A very interesting cache. Never would have discovered these 'landmarks' otherwise, as the vegetation is getting thicker, especially at WP2 where it is a bit hidden. Thought I prematurely found the geocache between WP2 and WP3 as it was a common geocache container painted in camo, but not to be. I made my way to GZ then realised I made a minor calculation error. Entered the right coords and soon came.across the cache. I had it 11m away from GZ. Thoroughly enjoyed this different cache. TFTC

This was great in two ways- an challenging epic over 2 days, and the near triumph of nature over mankind.
Attempted and won with Baktrak.
Thanks Riblit, well deserved fav from me.

In a former life, I sold B batteries, including the risky 240V type 924. Later, we sold radios made to take ten 1.25V NiCd cells, but to use 1.5V cells, a couple of dummy batteries were needed; apparently not the only time they were thought useful.
We made the first couple of finds in the bush but faltered after WP2 when I misread "from it" as "it from". Whilst the difference is an answer to another important question, in both cases it's a very wrong answer.
With my error remedied and the correct WP3 found, we were soon at our calculated destination where the familiar target was quickly apparent. But having not been found for 22 months, nature had tightened its grip on the cache and it wouldn't budge. Facing a technical DNF, we fashioned some stoneage tools to excavate a cavern below the cache and then levered it down into the wider opening so formed. With the box released and opened, we found the contents in excellent condition and added our names to the short list of finders (just 9 in 5 years).
Thanks Riblit. Worth a fave for the history and the challenges.

Liked this one. Quickly visited the three objects in the bush. Worked out gz. Had a look around and could not find an ammo tin. Then doubted my maths and plotted new waypoints. No luck. Came back the next day to my original gz calculation and found it this time. Strange hide for an ammo tin made me miss it right from the start. Nice history to be found up here. Signed and replaced. Left a pen, the one in the cache would not work for me. Satisfying find. Fav point. Tftc

I'm enabling this cache as the COVID-19 situation has improved and the state government is allowing people to travel within their region for recreation.

Don't forget to be mindful of social distancing and remember you probably don't know who last touched the container and contents. Sanitise your hands after touching the cache and contents.

Be Safe.

I have disabled this cache while the COVID-19 pandemic makes it unsafe to undertake unnecessary travel.

Please do not attempt to find this cache. Any contenders for the Darwin award will find their logs deleted.

Took a little time, and some bush bashing, to get all the info that was needed to get to calculate the co-ords for GZ.
I wonder how many of these things are hidden around the area.
Made a quick find of the second ammo box of the day.

An interesting multicache that we decided to go for this afternoon after a weekend on Newnes Plateau. We struggled with our sums to start with for wp3 and ended up in thick bush with no sign of any man made objects. A quick PAF and we were soon back on target. Once at GZ, the cache was spotted easily thankfully. Thanks for the enjoyable history, and TFTC!

Found the first three things but the final numbers didn't take me anywhere that interesting so probably put them together incorrectly. Try again another time

Battery B is the first geocache we have done in quite a long time and it was a very interesting one. Knowing what we we looking for was no advantage but non the less we had never set foot on the points of interest before. These points of interest had been on out radar for quite some time but like a lot of things we had just not got around to exploring them, that is until now thanks to geocaching.

After arriving at the designated coordinates the first object of interest was located without issue and relevant info noted. Then of to POI number 2 but because of a silly mistake we ended at POI number 3 only to be attacked by the ant army who were not impressed with us being there. With the error of pour ways rectified we found POI number 2 with its bearded guardian keeping watch over us.
With the required info collected we headed back to WP3 to perform the final parts of the ritual required to find the cache. After searching fruitlessly we rechecked the numbers which still came up the same. Then searching a while longrt without any luck we thought we better use the paf card to check our numbers. After describing our location it was discovered we were indeed in the correct area only the last two digits of longitude were back to front putting us a dozen or so metres out.

Thanks for an interesting afternoon in the Hassans Walls reserve. And thankyou to our paf.

Thanks for the cache.
Took nothing left nothing.

Talk about under pressure, even though I already knew the final location, and then beta testing the prototype cache with information I had gathered on the recce to place this cache, I still did it the correct way with pen and paper at hand. I plotted each waypoint searched for the required info (again) and argued the toss with the CO, yes Riblit was with me, he was driving the Frogmobile... I finally plotted correctly the final location, and guess what... I found a cache. I think he only let me stay in the car after this because I bought him lunch at Mt Vic. Thanks again Riblit for the history lesson.

Thanks for the history.

But, this felt more like a comprehension exam as I added and subtracted and calculated the wrong thing and needed to recalculate many times due to misunderstanding the description!?!

Once in the right spot it was still a tricky find!

Joint *** {*FTF*} *** with Splitty Miller JJCC at 1:08pm 13/10/2017

Out with JJCC on a caching run to Lithgow and beyond with the main aim of collecting this particular cache. After completing some early morning chores in Richmond, we headed up the mountain and made our third cache find for the day.

After collecting all of the information at each of the waypoints we quickly calculated GZ and set off...only finding the bush was getting extremely thick just 40m from our last waypoint. A quick double check and we realised we were heading in the opposite direction, so a backtrack and away were went. After searching in wider and wider circles, we went back to what the GPSr was telling us and we soon spotted the camo hiding the cache. After finding the container we both signed the log as joint FTF before replacing everything as found. Both the cache container and log are in excellent condition.

TFTC Riblit - and thanks for bringing us here and showing us another piece of forgotten history.

The following TBs came through for the mileage: Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust) & Vanlith The Youngling.
