I have been putting this one off for awhile now.
and driven past it regularly - noting that I must stop one day to have a go.
and its the closest cache yet to find from home as well ...
but I really struggle with stealth.
So I decided to drop by on dusk on the way home today,
but the light disappeared way too quick.
So I am thinking that I might have to attempt this one early in the morning one day instead.
cheers

Saw the cache, but have been defeated by the green ants. There were millions of them and I really really don't like them, so I wasn't going to stick my hand in to reach the cache.

Took a few minutes of searching before the prize was located. TFTC Jan.lotz. SL. {#455}.
We were running out of light and had no torch, but decided to give it a go seeing the search zone was limited. We tried many hidey holes and had to quickly brush off the green ant guardians. Finally found the right hiding place and grabbed the little well camo'd cache.
We also used the phone trick like a previous cacher to sign the log!
Thanks jan.lotz

Very well hidden and yeah our GPS was taking us about 10 metres east of the cache location so that made things a little bit harder for us but my wife finally spotted it when we widened our search area. Good cache.
Sneaky spot with several potential candidates, but the old tree gave up its secret. The cache was well guarded by an army of green ants! TFTH
I put me 'Robinson Crusoe' hat on for this cache find
Alas it was only Wednesday, so Friday couldn't help me [:o)]
My first attempt failed miserably as I beached the geomobile on the street nearby.
I had run aground outside the beach hut with the yappy dog !! [:o]
So I sailed off down some side streets and moored the geomobile a goodly few fathoms away.
Second attempt was on foot along the sandy shores of the islands streets.
I made landfall again, and the yappy dog was none the wiser
A quick find of the treasure and I had scrawled me name upon the parchment within.
I scuttled off back the way I had come to find me ship again
TFTC, ye scurvy dogs !!

An easy find by T for a change. Had to reread the logs and description to get a different take on what it said. Pretended to use the phone whilst signing the log.
Quickest find for the day but not on the sort of island we were expecting. Thanks.
Found at 4:40 PM GAFF3. The GPSr was taking us way over to the electricity box at first and we thought - yep "stuck = magnetic", but then settled on the proper GZ, which was missed the first pass- over.
Thanks jan.lotz.
Thanks jan.lotz.
Another day caching around Mackay, and a short drive out to Eton.
We found a variety of caches, including 3 puzzles and 2 multi's.
This cache was in good condition, and well hidden.
A quick find.
Thanks for the cache, jan.lotz.

31st of 36 finds on a four night holiday to Mackay for a wedding. Pipzi and I found this cache at 14:48.
Back in Mackay to turn this part of the map into smilies before we flew back to Brisbane. This was an interesting cache placement. I wonder if its neighbours question why people congregate around this cache. I was glad the cache was where it was rather than other places I thought it might be.

It always takes our GPSr or caching sense a little to kick in when we come to a new area and this had been our experience yet again so with limited time we tried to pick caches that would hopefully be quick. We pulled up and looked in a few place before checking the hint and then widening the search area to a likely spot to make a quick find. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

This is the first cache I have found with my kids and they loved it. I'm sure we will be hunting many more
TFTC Nice camo this was my first cache, I live 200m away from it and didn't know it was there till I found out about geocaching. So much fun! Signed the log and took nothing!
Fairly easy find in a very exposed suburban setting, not my most favoured hunt, but made easier by the fact it was early on a public holiday. Found at 0725hrs.

Found on our Qld adventure trip around the tourist spots of Mackay.
Nice quiet little park and a leisurely find with no muggles around thankfully.
My GPS said GZ was about 17m away, so it took longer than it should have.
TNLNSL TFTC, Cheers from way down south of NSW.
Roostaman.

Took a bit of time after spotting the cache to get a gap in the passing muggles to grab it.
Thanks.

Very happy to claim an FTF after what has been a bit of a caching drought for me recently !!
The notification came through in the morning and I wondered if Id make it to the cache. Luckily a gap opened up for me in the morning ritual and so the cache hunt was on. I DL'ed the GPX file and I was off.
I arrived at the island and safely made the passage over to GZ. A bit of head-sctratching later and the neat container was in hand.
TFTC, a little too small to drop off my TB though.
