No luck today. Only 1 find in 4. I'm sure we were in the right spot but came up trumps. GPS again said within a 5ft radius with only long grass in front of us. Better luck next time.

On our trip trough Australia with the hole family we looked also for some caches. They often showed us places we would never had discovered. Thanks a lot to the all the people who care about this lovely hobby .
While the rest of the family went for a swimm in the pool or rest a little, I could get some caches.
I found this one with a lot of ants on it [B)].
Greetings from switzerland .

This one was easy but it was actually our first one so I was glad. Fun stuff.
My suspicions where right when arriving at GZ. Been uploading photo's to friend who is looking for something to do with the kids.
Today was 10th anniversary of my Father's passing away, so thought it appropriate to visit a cemetery. Had never been here before, it looks so pretty and peaceful with a lovely view. Drove around slowly to get my bearings, but GPS wanted to send me into the bush on the other side of the road. Thought I might have written down the wrong co-ordinates, so parked in a shady spot and went for a walk, only to find that I was parked almost on top of it.
Was a bit wary about what might slide out of the hiding place, was ready to make a hasty exit if it was something slithery, but only the camo cache came out. Nice hide and worthy of a favourite point from me. T4T$. Cheers, coral.sea.cat

Hi there jan.lotz. We found your cache "Mount Basset Lawn Cemetery" at 12:40:00 PM today.
This was our 5th cache find in a caching run of 7 Finds & 0 DNFs today. (So this now makes our find count 9678.)
[Blue]
Today's cache run was primarily to add to our current streak of "Most Consecutive Days" cached, (which has been going since New Years Day 2014.) Our "next closest" route took us to some wonderful & scenic locations.
This is a nice place to visit, but we would prefer not to stay here long term.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent. (We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape, but the listed trackable Grandies KSKKS Travel Bug Gyro (TB54T2Z) is not in the cache, (and never would have fitted into the container [:(!]) Could jan.lotz (or the Trackable owner) please "Mark the Item as Missing" so it can be removed from the cache inventory. (This option is under Actions on the trackable's web page). .
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A very clever neat little hide, worth a favourite point from us. But there was no trackable in here, maybe this one should be listed as missing
Great hide, wasn't too hard to find. It was a nice change of pace from the usual Eclipse tins in Mackay.
Good camo. Clue made us look elsewhere at first. H ended up standing right next to it
Headed out this afternoon with my wife to grab a last couple of caches in Mackay.
Arrival at this one saw an empty search area so we set forth.
Nothing.
We looked high, low, left, right, in and out.
Nothing.
Then while I was looking here, my wife looked there and saw the simple hide that we had made much more difficult on ourselves.
Thanks for the cache jan.lotz
Cheers

Not a smuggler in sight. They were all laying low!!
After walking from the Big 4 Van park wasn't leaving empty handed and eventually found

Great cashe! Friday the 13th at a cemetery... Loved it.. By far the best 1 so far..... Thanks Jan
Well couldn't find it at first walked away had a think came back had another look stood back and then bam!! There it was looking straight at me great hide signed back of log another find on our trip around Australia
11:27:00 AM. Out and about on a wet and windy day. I made this way to hard and lucky for me the better half found the cache. Thanks jan.lotz.
This is a really peaceful place and a massive well kept cemetery. After getting attacked by some little green cache guardians which we hastily brushed off the search continued. A little bush bashing where the GPS was leading yielded no results so we stepped back for a think and hey presto there it was before our eyes.

Unfortunately a council muggle was cleaning the nearby pavilion this morning when I came by, so I would have looked quite suspicious looking for the cache. Have to attempt this one again next time I'm in Mackay.
Anyways, thanks for showing me the cemetery.
Anyways, thanks for showing me the cemetery.
So that's what a lawn cemetery is then, hmmm. I was having all sorts of problems with our GPS and I walked us around in circles for a while but then my wife had a go and basically walked straight to the cache so I dunno [?] Thanks for the smiley.
was driving past so I thought I'd have another go ...
nah - gps was still pointing me to the same place
scratched around for ... however many minutes
(longer than I care to admit )
but still got nothing - so this one stays as a DNF
for the time being.

I took the detour out to Mount Basset this morning
Inter-resting-spot
But I wasn't here to view the low profile residences, I was geocaching
I found a peaceful spot to park the geomobile and wandered over to find me the cache
And 20 minutes later I had found nothing [:o]
Except for a whole heap of dumped household and industrial waste
I was ARC'ed up and more determined than ever to find this elusive little cemetery cache
And just as I was about to give up !!
Yep !! There it was, mocking me [:o)]
Damn I hate these sort of cache hides !!
Me eyesight isn't what it used to be !!

What a beautiful cemetery - so open and well cared for. This cache gave us quite a hunt and there were a million sandflys. The Reluctant Companion gave it away and then HEY PRESTO I spied the cache. Great camo hide. TNLN TFTC
A nice quick find after parking the car. Nice camo as it blends in pretty well here. TFTC
Exhumed this one from its container after a lengthy search and then interred it again. Should have trusted our instincts and made a more thorough search of the first place we suspected instead of wasting so much time on a nearby fruitless search. Mind you the GPS did have us right between the 2. Thanks, a nice cache and well hidden. And we loved the moveable shelters in the cemetery. We have never seen them before and they are certainly something we don't need at home in Tassie.
Today we drove to Bucasia and worked our way back to Mackay.
We found a variety of caches, including 3 multi's (our record for mult's in 1 day).
We found this cache in good condition, and well hidden.
A sensible hide for the environment, a quick find.
Thanks for the cache, jan.lotz.

trying to come out of my caching hiatus
and make a start on the swag of new local caches that have appeared during my little break
strike out here ...
GPSr had me looking in what I believe to be the wrong place
but I still scratched sround in the trees for a bit
nah ... reread logs - got to be over there and more accessible just well hidden
I had only just done one of the owners other caches
put the GPSr away and had a bit of a boys look
another for another day
thanks anyway

A day to spare in Mackay before we head home so why not collect a few smilies.
Lady Avagos eagle eye was quick to zero in on this one.
Thanks jan.lotz

Spent what felt like a long time in the rain searching for this one. No muggles about but plenty of mozzies. Maybe on my next trip to Mackay I'll be luckier.
Good hide. Had me and the geokids going for a while. Then cache in hand and log signed and happy cache's. off for another
No luck for us today. Fairly obvious where it is generally located, but the cache itself eluded us.
Cheers

Thanks to jan.lotz for the help at the end. Great to run into the owner while seeking.
Found it.Well this was another find made by Swampdonkey ( Lucky for him I say ) Although I am pretty sure that after this weekend he is fairly happy that he doesnt have to go out for a find to fill the calender untill November.LOL
Havent been to Mount Basset Lawn Cemetery for some time always a pretty well kept place but growing up in Mackay just wandered why it was placed so close to the smelly dump across the road.
Quick easy find with nobody around when the find was made.

very well camoflouged hide.! took a while but geohubby to the rescue ..again.! nice peaceful area TFTC
Found on our Qld adventure trip around the tourist spots of Mackay.
The mower man was at it again but miles away, so I had some privacy.
I was hoping for a quick find with no muggles around but that was not the case. I have seen a few of these but until you know what you are looking for,
they are always very elusive. This was definitely very well done, but I spotted
it just as I was about to give up & go away without a smiley, thankfully.
TFTC, and cheers from way down south of NSW.

Looked around for a while the GZ didn't seem right. Better luck next time I guess.
After accidentally bumping into the owner at another one of their caches we decided to come back and have a look. What a spot very tricky. Couldn't believe it was looking right at us. The kids loved it.
after checking to see if this one had been found yet when I finished work this morning, not yet, we had to go to Mirani so why not head into Mackay to find this one as well. Arriving at the GZ around 11.50 am all was not quiet, mower man and whipper snipper man working in the area............. we had a quick look and thought, nah couldn't be right! Had a search around in a few places, looked at a few grave sites so we didn't look too out of place. Returned to original GZ and was thinking nah still, when Geo Girl said "THERE IT IS!!!!" anxious moments to see if Cache Quest had beaten us. Nope we were First. YAH. Very tricky and well hidden. Signed Virgin Log for our first time ever. FInd #55, wasn't able to slide it from its hiding place but was able to extract the log without any trouble.
Thanks for the Cache jan.lotz you will get a favourite from us as my Dad is also buried here in the lawn section and it was our first ever FTF.
we then had a quick trip up the valley home again so I would be back in time for work and Geo girl could get to school before it finished.......
no room for any TB's so they all visited

I thought this one would be quick-n-easy but I didnt have time to do a thorough search, I think this one is a little more tricky than I initially thought... [?]
