Found okay here today, the poor tins seen better days yet still doing its job just fine.Staying in Whyalla last night was a good opportunity to stock up before we head north. Coober Pedy was our target. After some local caches and shopping, it was on the road. Lots of earthcaches led us to many interesting locations. On a warm sunny day with temperates into the 30C also quite pleasant and not to warm. Great scenery, rock formations and even a FTF of a new virtual. Red banks was a fascinating location in Port Augusta, lucky for low tide to get there. Back out into the outback, amazing country and heading north. The day caught up with us and made camp about 2 hours south of coober pedy in a rest stop.
Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga, Ceduna and Lincoln Park.TFTC. A nice quick find. Tin is quite squashed.
*Quick Morning Bike Ride #3*Out for a bit of exercise before the day gets going. Thanks heaps for the cache!
Cache needs some love.In Whyalla for parkrun and the running festival and of course, a few caches.fishingmad, I found FTF PT-1: Bunya today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Cache has seen better days here With a few days off I headed over to the northern Eyre peninsula for a 2 night stay in Whyalla, my main aim for the few days was the FITG and the FTF trail plus finding a few caches here and there along the way. Just under 300 caches found for the trip. Thanks for the cache

Found while picking up some nearby solved mysteries, wish we had more time to attempt the series, but we need to move on to Port Lincoln to find some sharks, it's bloody hot out here, TFTC fishingmad
Day 2 in Whyalla has seen me just driving around the place to get a feel for the area and grabbing the odd cache at the same time. A quick find. TNLN. TFTC.
A satisfying way to fill in some free time while my other half visits Elvis. TFTC.
Found it eventually but on first attempt
I have also placed a new cache nearby hopefully all goes well

Found while visiting Whyalla for a few days with Team Waldron and TeamAstro, with the aim of finding as many caches as possible in Whyalla and surrounds. Day 1 saw us travel up from Adelaide and tour the very scenic coastline around Port Bonython and Point Lowly. On Day 2 we headed out to the Fill In The Gaps (FITG) series, then to Iron Knob and back via the First To Find Power Trail (FTF PT) series. On Day 3 we cached in and around the City of Whyalla, and on Day 4 we made our way out to Whyalla Conservation Park before heading for home. Thanks for the cache fishingmad!
What an epic journey we have had, just returned home from the holiday of a life time, we managed to catch up with PP2 for some caching at times, oh the memories and laughter!! Now it's time to catch up with the logging, thank you to every CO who has placed caches for us to find along the way TFTC
Another day of our celebrations of birthday week for the cats, Purrfect Di and Mattycat kept on birthday caching to see what we could unwrap in the way of iron triangle log books. Yours was one we found along the way, with the help of Jack. Good fun time for all and an insight into the impact of mint tins on the aussie steel industry [:o)] Most finds were straightforwad, some were a little obscure, and some were just rusting away!!! A good way to keep fit on a warm day.
So we hit some more of the f t f p t and that took a large chunk of the day! Glad to have that little bit of the map clear now. Some were easily found from the side track and others better from the main road, some were just a little buried, one had two caches with a recent throwdown right by the original! All were a bit of fun to add to our day. Ahhh the very beginning of the trail. And another cacher whose work we have seen a lot of around town. Cache under a rock with a little recent baggy protection. Quickly spotted.
Sincere thanks to fishingmad for placing and maintaining this cache on our geo game map
[:o)]
We must note that we certainly do appreciate the way those mint tins age to blend in with the rusty outback earth!!! Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, plastic cracks and mint tins rust!
---
Searching around every day finding and signing using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Quite a lot of that actually!!!
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
---
Please do stay as safe as possible when caching.
Keep a lookout for bogs, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs from alpha to omega !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Much appreciation of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
[^] [:o)] [^]
A great caching start to Twenty Twenty Too

The Non Wangaratta Event Tour 2021!
Covid has postponed the Mega in Victoria until January but leave had been granted for AnyMules to attend with me and Bushfire. So Anymules and I went on a tour to Eyre Peninsular and mid north South Australia instead whilst Bushfire joined us in spirit only as covid meant he couldn't come here either. Not needing anything for my yearly goals I hoped I didn't add too many to the DNFs [B)]
DAY 4: Grab a few move solved puzzles and head to Terowie.
The start of this long trail. Lets see what it will be like. [?] Gets a couple of FP's
A crushed mint tin with no lid [B)] Signed the log and think we will give this series a miss!
Only one of the three goals from last year achieved. So once again trying and fill my calendar with multi-caches and complete loop 11 again this year. [^] For my third goal I will try and get my DNF numbers from over fifty to single digits. That should keep me busy again this year! [:o)]
***Thanks fishingmad for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Tin has no lid and is very crushed making it difficult to get the log book out. Could use some TLC.

TFTC. Day 2 of our Whyalla geocaching trip and we decided to tackle the FTF - PT series from Whyalla to Iron Knob.
Having previously completed the Iron Knob end of the trail, it was time to do the rest!
Unless already logged with a “note”, caches and logs were in good condition.
Happy caching and safe travels!

Today we were heading down to Crowell but had a few things to do in town first and then I wanted to get the last few in the FTF series close to Whyalla.
We then headed to Cowell collected caches along the way.
We loved Cowell especially the oysters and spit roast at the pub.

This weekend, I headed to Whyalla to catch up with a few other Geocachers and attempt some of the trails there. On Saturday, we targeted the FTF power trail from Whyalla to Iron Knob, and then spent the evening and the subsequent morning driving some of Whyalla's back tracks. On Sunday, I visited Cowleds Landing and back north, only to get severely bogged in one of Whyalla's clay pans. I then returned home via the August series.
Today, I joined hevwalker and scramping with our goal to complete the FTF power trail. We got 75% through before taking a break for lunch in Iron Knob, and then completed the remaining geocaches, finishing in the early afternoon. We then visited the new Whyalla circular jetty, and then had dinner at the Eyre Hotel geocaching event. Finally, we headed out for a quick stop at Whyalla Conservation Park, and then headed around the tracks around the levee finding miscellaneous geocaches, all within a nice and balmy evening.
A quickish find at this location. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks fishingmad for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

On hevwalker and our Whyalla holiday.....Davidwazza joined us for a fun day of caching..... with clear skies and warm weather we set off with the aim to do some of the FTF power trail. Our plan was to get as many as possible in the day. My aim was to beat my previous record of 106 in a day.....yes...smashed it thanks to my friends and our quick finds. TFTC
In Whyalla with scramping on a mini getaway holiday...
Today Davidwazza joined us as we set about finding all the caches in the FTF PT series and any others that got in our way
Most of the caches we located quickly and easily...I did say most...the rest took a minute or 2 more...
The day was warm and the sky was blue as we made our way to Iron Knob...

Some quick finds on this series whilst heading back into Whyalla...
Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol
TNLNSL
Thanks

Day 5 of the Perth to Adelaide trip where we started in Whyalla and ended in Adelaide.
Today was about finding as many caches as possible and starting / warming up to the larger power trails that bought us over here.
We completed the FTF series and the Letterbox caches.
During the morning we found the majority of the days caches, some highly favourited first up also.
Anyway the day has time limitations to it as we were hosting an event that started at 6pm and as it were we made it there at 5.59pm so early however the crowd of people there before us was rather pleasing.
It was great to see so much energy around Geocaching at the event the Adelaide teams really know how to impress and greet the visitors with a beer, thanks Freddo!
fishingmad I found your cache FTF PT-1: Bunya thanks for placing this hide for myself and others to find.

Day 5 of Barnzy and Cravo’s trip from Perth to Adelaide.
Today we travelled from Whyalla to Adelaide via a number of country towns.
We started bright and early just before sunrise to pickup a couple of caches North of Whyalla that had some high favourite points which had tickled our fancy.
We then moved our attention to the FTF power trail, which started just out of Whyalla and took us all the way to Iron Knob. Found a good variety of difficulty and terrain combinations along the trail, with some interesting hiding spots. There were a couple of DNFs and caches that took a while to find which stretched out the time taken to complete the series.
We eventually made our way to Iron Knob and picked up the couple of caches around town which were quite nice in a very small mining town.
We were pushing the time factor quite hard, so skipped a fair few caches, but had to stop in at Port Germain to grab the aptly names Port Germain cache, which filled in a spot on the Jasmer grid, and its where I rolled my ankle running back to the car which made things a bit difficult for the rest of the day.
The other main target for the day was the Postman Pat Letterbox Hybrid Series, which were great quick finds of nicely sized containers.
We left the LBH trail and made our way to quickly check into the accomodation and made our way to our event in Lights Square “Sandgropers in the City”, which we made it to exactly one minute before it started, but a good sized crowd was already waiting to greet us, which was really nice as it was at last minute we had the event published.
It was great to finally put some faces to names we’ve only seen in logs, in particular the SA legend Freddo and TeamAstro. It was very interesting learning of the large scale model of the solar system, of which we had found one of the caches on the Nullarbor on our way over.
After bidding farewell to the event attendees we grabbed a bite of food and walked around the CBD caching, with mixed results.

Today we were on the road from Port Augusta to Whyalla and we had planed to do this trail. But it was to much for one day so we did only half of the trail today and tomorrow we will try to do the other half.
We saw that some of the caches were found already more than half a year ago so we expected to have a lot of not founds. But most of the caches we found! It is a very nice trail to do and we say thank you for hiding the caches to all of the cache owners. We enjoyed it and had fun today.
Greetings from team De Kivits, Netherlands.

Staying in town for a few nights and there's a power trail. Thank you, Whyalla. I only got a few done this time. I'll have to come back next time for the rest. Mostly quick finds. Thanks all involved.
Found while have a short break in Whyalla for a week and picking up the odd Smiley here and there. This was an easy find because I had found a lot of caches with similar hide earlier this morning on a different PT. TFTC.
Found it with TICE [Hiltsu, J&T, kapeka & laalaa]
We had fun with caching few weeks here in Australia ( South Australia and Northern Territory ). Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and huge country!

Team ICE on a two week geocaching trip in Australia. Our main target was the Red Centre Experience at Alice Springs but of course we did some caching in other places too. We drove from Adelaide to Alice Springs and then back. We saw lots of interesting and beutiful places like opal mines at Coober Pedy, Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta. Our rental travelled almost 6500km on gravel and tarmac roads. The weather was great, only on last day we got some rain.
All the caches logged as Team Ice, T-ice or Tice with kapeka, laalaa and Hiltsu. We had a great trip!
Today our journey continued from Port Augusta to Whyalla and back. Some trail caches and others logged on the way.

Got to GZ and couldn't find the cache. Climbed over and found it, and also found that I didn't need to climb over.
NEF for me to start a 10klm journey out the road to nail a few this arvo, seeing I am stuck an extra day in Whyalla. TFTC.
Up here with a Railfan Muggle mate I found a place to park whilst we waited it out for the Ore Train to depart.... right next to a cache of course SL at 09:17 on Sat, 11 March, 2017. Cache and contents are all good [^] TFTC fishingmad
#987 Twelfth of thirty finds on Day 3 of my Christmas and New Year's geocaching road trip to SA. Easy find after a short search. Nice way to celebrate Christmas Day on a very hot day in Whyalla. TFTC
Back out caching again today with CAD - grabbing a few more caches on the FTF Power Trail ... Really enjoyed this series... Thanks to all the Cachers involved T4TC:)
After driving past this one many times, always with cars and people sitting nearby, finally went past with no-one around. Quick find at last. Tftc
Found while after spending week end in Whyalla an attending a Dinner event in Whyalla, so doing a few caches before we leave Whyalla. TFTC
This was the second day spent picking up more caches along this power trail between Iron Knob and Whyalla. We found most of them with just a few misses for various reasons. We enjoyed finding these caches and were very happy to pick up some more unloved caches. Thank you to fishingmad for placing this cache.
Started off not that enjoyable but was soon pretty awesome.
I started with the attitude of a 3 hour blitz to get as many done as possible. Once I changed this attitude to just accepting good caches that aren't meant to be done fast it was really enjoyable. It even says that in the description and if I lived in the area I would be really pleased to have this variety of caches. But when I looked at the map from interstate I thought easy blitz lots of numbers. It would also give me a chance to explore the iron knob area that I find quite interesting.
Some of the caches felt like just throw out of passing cars others where magnificent hides. The letter box and beer bottle stand out
The views where spectacular in places. I think I will need to come back to climb the big hill near Whyalla.
Saw a few trains, each had 53 carriages. And was passed many times by the same trucks going up and down the road.
Got a bit sick and tired of branchlets continually ripping at my dreadlocks. The one down side of cacheing with dreadies.
The weather slightly overcast. 2 degrees was the starting temp and 15 was the finishing temp.
The amount of rubbish beside the road was pretty horrifying as was the attitude that you could ride or drive wherever you wanted destroying our precious bush.
Quite a few are in disrepair and some are missing. I don't know if locals are still active but I would tecommend if your coming to the area you bring your own record sheets and a few throw downs of various sizes..
Favourite awarded here for the series done so far. I may came back I don't know but I only make it to south Australia every couple of years.

While having a forced stay in Whyalla with the wife in hospital it is a perfect opportunity to do some caching.

From the time that the FTF Power Trail began to be published, we had it on our "To Do" list. As the number of caches grew, our planning to visit Whyalla became more serious. Finally the stars were in alingment. Yesterday we started near Whyalla and went to Iron Knob and back, finding many in the series and only not-finding one. Today our first task was to attempt to find the remaining caches in the series. Thank you to the geocachers of Whyalla for planning, publishing and maintaining the series.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache

Found with Sully1, Snaphappy and The Empire, it was a very enjoyable road trip with lots of laughs all the way. This series is the main reason for our visit to this area as team Vic thanks for the cache and the contribution to Geocaching.

A big day, starting in Whyalla, heading to Iron Knob and back again. Over 100 caches found for the day, plenty of laughs too! We started a bit before 9am and were finished a little after 5pm. Plenty of big trucks, trains and scratches on my legs along the way! We'd seen the knob, now it was back home (the motel) to Whyalla! Thanks to all the hiders for their effort.

Found at 8:57 AM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob.
Off we go into the unknown and hoping to get through the series within a day, but that was not going to happen was it?
Thanks fishingmad.
