**This was 1 of 18 caches that was found by me on the 9th of 19 days in New Zealand.**
**Which also was the 62nd of 75 days that my travels thru southeast Asia and Oceania would last.**

Wohoo, and traditional that has been unfound for almost 2 years. And it's located only 100 meters from the road Surprised. It must be something very special about it since no one has walked over there since January 2017.

The first indication of what was waiting was the very overgrown path from the main road. Luckily most of the vegetation was of an thin sort that easily could be bended away. So after a few minutes I had reach the location of the old bridge.
Finding the container did require a little search, while keeping an firm grip on an living branch since it rather steep at the location. And I had no intention of falling down at all.

*During 19 days I traveled from Christchurch to Auckland in an SUV, that i also slept in during most of the nights. 5.956 km of driving did it take to visit the 351 caches that I have marked as found in c:geo.*

*Earthcaches was my main focus during the stay. And I manage to visit 106 of them. So New Zealand is right now the only country where earthcaches are my most found cache type Cool.*

Together with arbor95 I am on a holiday tour in New Zealand. Cool

We are two Germans, old friends since a long time. Together we visited a lot of other countries in the past, even before we started geocaching. [^]

For our trip we usually looking for some extraordinary caches. Wink

Therefore we had mostly a lot of fun. Big Grin

This was a nice search and finally we found it. The logbook is wet nd I put a business card in.

Thank You very much for this geocache, for the challenge and for the maintaining.

Greetings from tripleclaus to bumandworker. Smile

I stopped here a couple of years ago on my first caching trip to the coast. It was dark and had been raining but I got to within a few metres of the cache before deciding it probably wasn't a good idea to look for it in those conditions. Every time I've passed since then it's been similar, but not today. Nice quick find, track is more overgrown since last time. Log is quite damp but was able to write in it. TFTC B&W

Trudged up thru the wet muddy track found the deck plank but no sign of cache, will return when its drier.

We searched for this cache, because the T-Value looks quite interessting. After a "long" walk on the old road through some small trees and high vegetation we reached the final zone. It took a while to find the box and shortly before we left the area we found the well hidden box. Thanks a lot for this challenge.

Driven past here so many times - a couple of times missed the park as the GPS hadn't caught up and last time did pull over but decided it was getting a bit dark. I'm so glad I made that decision because I would've missed the stunning and magic place that this is. First found where I thought the cache was supposed to be - a perfect place that matched the hint but no cache. Looked down the bank but no sign of it so headed back only to come across something else that seemed a likely spot and also matched the hint and before I had even started to search I spy the cache a wee way down the bank. So yet again it is placed with the rock on top to try to keep ion place. Thanks so much for bringing me here to this absolutely beautiful spot. TFTC #6232

Another park and walk and squish and bleed and scratch and shloop. The cache container had rolled down the slope so put back in the hidey hole. Cheers

We missed stopping for this on our last trip past, mainly as we weren't sure of access. Managed to pull over in the right spot today, and with the fine weather, it was the ideal opportunity to take a little walk. What a great location, with the huge green mossed boulders in the stream. Cache took a bit to track down as it was near one of the places that StreetWalker first checked, but had got dislodged and fallen down the bank a little. He found it on the second pass and replaced it as per hint with a stone in front to secure it.
Watch out for nails in some of the boards, SW found one with several protruding nails so turned it over. Well worth a cache and a visit. TFTC.

#8382. We'd found most of the caches along this stretch of SH6 on our Queens Birthday trip to Westport, but had missed this one. We managed to pull in at the right place. We didn't think there had been much recent rain, but the old road was still very wet in places. At GZ I looked under something promising but found nothing. After searching elsewhere I came back to the original location and spotted a container a metre or two down the bank. I replaced it has per the hint, and tried to make it as snug as possible. Thanks for the cache; it's a great wee spot.

Quick find along with Mr KE, remember driving along this section way back in the 60,s. TFTC

Short walk to gz with Kiwi Grandad. Hard to imagine there being a road or bridge here except for the few obvious signs that remain.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

This was one cache out of bumandworker's tremendous ownership along Buller river. I found it travelling the area. TftC

This end of the old road is definitely a tad rough, however the cache was a fairly quick find with the hint. TFTC

Such a beautiful day for caching today. It was very wet underfoot in here, reminding me how lucky I was with the weather and what a lot of precipitation there had been in this part of the world in the last week. I made this one much more difficult for myself than I needed to. In fact, I had given up when I realised there was somewhere else I could investigate, and sure enough - - - .

Today was a day for a big drive and loop out from Nelson to Springs Junction, Reefton, Inangahua and back. It was starting to get a bit late in the day so given the published terrain rating I very nearly didn't stop for this one. In the end it was a very cool short walk / scramble from the road to the cache. Hint helped with the search for this one which was found in the second spot I checked. TFTC, Biggles.

Came on to here this morning after failing to find another cache further down this track. Found this one after a short search, the GPSr wasn't very helpful around here so I needed to check all likely hint objects. Found the correct one eventually. That bridge looks as if it may have been wiped out fairly catastrophically judging by the sizes of the boulders in the creek bed. There's certainly not much left of it now! Signed log, thanks for the cache.

Nice bush walk, I like caches like this, adventurous, show you nice historical place you normally wouldn't see. Took me a while but if you stand at the right place it is easy.
Thanks for hiding!

[purple]Day 1 of our 5 day Easter caching roadtrip. Today we were heading from Greymouth to St Arnaud [/purple]
Nice bush walk no bashing required at all, hardest thing we did was climb over a large fallen tree and that wasnt hard at all (LOL) The remnant is abit slippery though so watch your step. Thanks for the cache Smile

20-Jan-13
They way up here is pretty straight foreward, but with some jumping coords I took me a while and reading the latest logs to eventually localize the cache! Red Face

#345. Bit of a bush bash. GPS was sending us up further, but spotted a few peices of timbers and soon had the correct place! Cache signed and back to the car, nearly got lost but home safely. TFTC never knew it was here.

Must say the countryside through here is quite beautiful, even if the sandflies are massive! Reading the logs it sounds like I chose the easy side of the creek, but not saying which side that is. TFTC

10-Dec-12
wandered through the old road from the other cache all good going except for the tree across the track and the creek crossing. but fine if you take your tme. gps coords good for me and a straight forward find. tftc

On a caching trip with Holymu destination West Coast we did a drive by yesterday to get the parking sorted for on the way back. It is hard to believe that there was a road here not so long ago. I can't recommend doing this cache in your whites after heavy rain but it sure adds to the fun (the rain that is). At GZ the remnants of the bridge prove the skill and determination of the earlier generations. The cache was located after inspecting "that place" for the second time. Another great caching experience and a fav point. TFTC

Mmm, will I or won't I? This was my first thought when we parked up here for the walk to this cache. A bit dubious about the wet track through the bush but it wasn't as bad as first feared. Of course Hazedarus was directed from behind when it came to the search and naturally he didn't let me downBig Grin How often we ask ourselves "how does he find these places?" TFTC.

18-Oct-12
I somehow managed to turn this into a major mission. First I went up the wrong side of the creek to really earn my terrain rating. Do you know how many bits of wood there are to look under on that side? After coming up with a donut I retraced my steps and found the much easier access way. Still took me a while to find. The creek was raging today. Ll good fun. TFTC

Very cool, my sort of cache. Quite amazing to see how quickly nature reclaims. Had a small encounter with a bit of bush lawyer but otherwise all straight forward.

TFTC

25-Sep-12
The bush certainly reclaims! Hard to even see where the road went!
