I'm here for an exhange andI found it on my last week. Going back to Switzerland in 4 days... the private sign wasn't really a problem, thanks for the cache !!
I didn't go any closer than the "private property" sign. Since the last two visits were DNFs it wasn't worth "ignoring" the sign on the off chance I might find what others could not.
This is the third time I haven't found it. Dad won't let us go past the private road sign, even on foot so I can't get the cache! It's just on my map teasing me!!
#3064. I only needed 2 caches today to keep the 4+ streak going but with the month also coming to an end, I still need a few more to cross the 250 line for a Wairarapa challenge. So decided to grab a few extra ones today. Headed up to Riverstone Terraces planning to clean the area out. But my GPS has developed an odd glitch and is not displaying cache descriptions, previous logs or hints. So just had the cache name and the mapped location to go on. Parked down the road and walked up to this one. The private road sign threw me at first but seeing the public water tanks further uphill I suspect the locals are telling porkies here to keep away unwanted people. Once at the GZ I searched around a few likely spots and soon uncovered the cache. Signed the log and returned as found. Thanks for bringing me up to the top of the suburb.
Great view from up here today. Wasnt long before Selesi had her hands on the cache. TFTC
Team find tonight. Cache is in good shape but you can be seen from close by houses. Stealth is required. TFTC
Good little after dinner find. Found with NZ1 and GBNZ. Cache in good order. TFTC.
Dodged the showers to come up here today, and was rewarded with the sight of a rainbow spanning the entire Hutt Valley as well as the cache. TFTC - another one towards the 100, 10, 7 challenge.
GPS coords way off, thanks for the hint that did the job No-one around on a Wednesday so muggle-free and easy to poke about. TFTC.
Nice little walk on a crisp Sunday morning, first time visiting this area amazed with the development and all the houses that look exactly the same hahhaha. TFTC.
Parked where the waypoint pointed us, and wandered up the gentle hill. It was a nice quick find once we got to the right area. TFTC
Thanks for the cache finally made it u here to look for it thought it was going to be a walk but easy drove almost to it dobby feeling a bit short changed on the walking today will have to get on in before it rains
The first of five on a Riverstone cache run. Nice view and nice easy find by geo-kid #1. TFTC.
Good search for the boys, even with the hint. Thanks for the cache I always wondered what is up here
visiting home cache with a newly released travelbug. Lots of changes going on up here!
Up in the clouds this morning for a quick find, enjoying a morning pottering around collecting a few caches in the area. TFTC, #6639
I've been meaning to look for this cache ever since meeting CaligulaNZ before Christmas, and AT LAST we went to explore Riverstone Terraces today to inspect the changes since last time we'd been up there. What a lot! Apart from many new roads and probably hundreds of houses lower down the hill there are currently a couple of new houses being built just below GZ. Luckily there is a nice shrub/small tree shielding the avid cacher from the builder muggles working just below and people down there will always think you are simply taking in the view.
The find was very easy: the cache was in full view, so I replaced it with a little more cover than it had when we arrived. The view from GZ was...a view over Upper Hutt. No clouds or fog anywhere down at these low altitudes today. We parked just before the Private Road sign, but it actually would have been easier to drive up to the reservoir, park off the road there and then we could have easily turned round to drive back down past the building sites.

Sensibly we ignored all the warnings and urgings to cancel outdoor activities in the face of the expected onslaught from the leftovers of tropical cyclone Lusi. And it turned out to be one of warmest and most pleasant Sundays that we have had in parts around here for a while. We made our way to here after our foray in the Moonshine Valley area.
We were a bit nonplussed by the "private road, no entry" sign at the entrance point to where we obviously had to go. We ignored it, but were happy to get in and get back out again.
A straightforward find. Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Easy find as long as you ignore the Keep Out sign. I think the 'private' part of the road is the bit past the civil infrastructure near the cache - and teh locals houses are too far away to be concerned by cachers.
Nice view from up here too, on a day when not above the clouds.

The last cache of the day. Starting drizzling as I arrived and a range rover came out from the access road to stop to check I was alright. "I will be in a minute" I thought, as he ventured off. Took a bit of time to locate the cache as the GPSr bounced around a bit.
Will have to return another day for the other Riverstone caches.

TFTC CaligulaNZ,
Beautiful day and great views. Easy find. TFTC! Just how Private is the Private Road though!
For those concerned about the sign - this is placed to discourage 'sight-seers' driving up to the rural properties further up the 5-or-so kilometre Private Road. In the past, before the fencing off of the two nearby sections, the neighbourhood has had issues with boy racers and couples 'parking-up'. There is no issue in terms of this cache. Before the housing market downturn on weekends this street saw a constant stream of potential house-buyers cruising up, and often continueing up the Private road.
A quick find, I took a few moments to enjoy the view thanks for bringing me here TFTC CaligulaNZ
A lovely autumn day with hardly a cloud in sight. Back in the day when I grew up in Upper Hutt, this was waste land. My my how things have changed. TFTC
Found today with Wandering Dragons, MycroMan and Crystal Fairy. A tricky pathway to navigate - slipped once. Nice view though. TFTC!
Cache #326

Cache #987 - did today with Crystal Fairy, MycroMan and Violet Butterfly. Easy find. Log book said last person to visit had left a Geocoin, but there was no sign of it in the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Quick cache. No GC in cache though.. Great views from here on a great day. Did with Mycro Man, Wandering Dragons and Violet Butterfly.
Found after a 4 1/2km walk from Trentham Memorial Park view was well worth the effort.
An evening stroll turned into a night cache but a brilliant excuse for some exercise after dinner. The 2,5km walk home was easier. TFTC
We arrived at the parking co-ords just as NZ got a wicket against SA on the penultimate ball, so had to hang around the car radio, waiting to see what happened as SA needed 3 runs from the last ball to win. (For the record, there was a 6 off the last ball, so SA won).
On a perfect morning, there was not a cloud to be seen, so we had great views of Mt Climie. Hmmm, looks like a bit of climbing and walking required to bag the caches up there.
Followed the geotrail to GZ and cache was in the first place I looked. Thanks for bringing me here.

#4799. Good views after a short walk. Looks like a nice area here. Dropped off three trackables.
Saved the closest unsolved to home for a dot day, and here it is.
Nice views over the valley.

Quick find for Princess Emily. Lovely view. Swapped scooby doo card for a GC. Visiting geocaching 'friends' in the area. TFTC
There is no need to encourage me to walk up Mount Climie. I have already done it quite often. I am planning to return shortly to search for all those caches that were not there last time I visited.
This was a good walk to a good cache location. I was below the clouds this evening and was able to enjoy a view I hadn't experienced before.

Was in Upper Hutt for work this morning and decided that I needed a break from work after seeing a nearby client.
Noted that there was a cache not too far away and it was only going to be a short dive from where I was to the parking co-ordinates. Having being up to the Riverstone Terraces a few times now picking up the occasional one or two caches, it was quite easy to find my way to the parking spot.
Arriving near GZ I managed to get a car park not too far away and I was getting I noted that there was a building crew not too far away doing some work at a nearby house but they were paying me any attention.
Managed to work out where GZ was once I got out of the car and it was a short and easy walk nearly all the way to GZ, then it was a little bit of a clamber to the final resting spot. Arriving at GZ I checked to make sure that I wasnt being spied on and once sure that everything was okay, I soon spotted the cache in the first spot that I looked.
What a nice spot for a cache with great views as describe in the listing, was glad that I found the cache quickly without any issues, signed and replaced it back as found, thanks for placing the cache here and for bringing me up here to enjoy the view up here. TFTC TNLNSL (4822), glad that I can now find another vantage point to see who is making thier way up to Mt Climie to do my caches[xx(].

This was my very first find. And funnily enough it was very close to my house.
Very nice view of the valley and I'll definitely visit it again during the summer to watch the sun set!

Came here late this morning as I was in the area. There was a sign near the parking area indicating that the road leading to the cache is private but I'm pretty sure that is not the case. No problems finding the cache - signed log, TFTC
#3328. Nice walk up the clouds. In fact, we were in the rain, so no views to Mt Climie today. But by the time we started to head down, the rain turned really heavy ... intermixed with hail too. Then the rain became slight again when we reached the valley floor.
Unfortunately, Mandurah Red Racer #1 was not in the cache.
