Reasonably accurate coordinates led to a quickish find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Dactal for the cache.
We where passing through and staying the night near by on our big out west adventure, thought we would go on a walk to find it.TFTC
Love this hide! I did find the name & hint confusing but the logs helped me out. TFTC
After a long look and some reference to the logs a sucess today. With FiveTays-TT TFTC
TFTC, after a long look and nearly giving up tool a look through the logs and finally success. With Slack1962
Convenient cache, just over the road from my accommodation. The hint caused me some confusion.
Found while on our adventures across 5 states, WA, NT, NSW, SA & Qld for several months. We had to take an injured Joey to the Wildlife Carer, Lace after we found it flung from its mother's push & covered in ants skun in many places from bouncing across the road. We named it Coldplay, after the band, since we found him driving back home to WA to see them play on Sunday night! We went to see him again this morning & he's going to survive thanks to Lace caring foe him. I hope he gets paired with another one so he knows he's a skippy & can live a great life (being an orphan) with this family, his companion & into the wild when the time comes. Thanks for bringing us here
Slowly working our way to Dalby after attending Qogm 2023 for cmca National rally. Did your The Steel Tree today. 25 September 2023 4:19 pm Tyfc Dactal & Chillers total caches now 6642 .
Whilst visiting Barcaldine for my final time this trip, I stopped at this cache, and it was found after a short search. A very well-camouflaged cache and an appropriate hide. The container was just wedged quite well inside, so it took some time to extract that, otherwise the cache container and logbook were in good shape. I thought the hint was a little misleading (and name). Thanks Dactal for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, with Longreach QOGM finishing up, it was time to commence my two-day drive home. After making an early departure from Longreach following the [QOGM 2023 CITO](https://coord.info/GCAAHTW) event, I passed through Barcaldine, Blackall, Tambo, Augathella, and then finished up in Morven where the [Morven Major Munch](https://coord.info/GCAE0HW) dinner event was held. I made sure to see the historical sights like the woolshed scour, murals and drilling setup in Blackall, before playing through the Wherigos and finding puzzles and challenge trail. I extended my day after sunset, and completed the Murweh Triangle (MT) geoart puzzles from Augathella to Morven. It was a fairly full day in warm conditions, but the geocaches placed from previous QOGMs were enjoyable, and it was good to add Blackalls LGA to my statistics.Adventure Labs completed: [The History of Tambo](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/0c74ee1c-bb7e-46cc-b899-55918a0094d4); and [Augathella Art](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a28da373-e575-4d0c-b1f2-14a832b17597).
Found It!This took a lot of searching but eventually I spotted it. That's surprisingly well hidden!TFTC
Heading to Longreach for QOGM 2023 with TemingiHad an early start from Yeppoon and today's destination was only Barcaldine,So we still had the afternoon to run around town and have a look at all the new hides that Temingi didn't have, with that done, we still had time for me to make a few more findsAnd this was one of them ...No worries here ... OK - took a bit of looking with the hide blending in nicely to it's surroundsSigned and replacedThanks for the cache
We are nearly at Longreach for the QOGM 2023. Staying in Barcaldine for 2 nights, slight change in plans so we can go to the luncheon event on Sunday.
We’ve started the day at a Wherigo by RoddyC so austpark can complete a challenge. We were lucky to meet Outback Alcorns there so we went to the jet setter mob first.
Wow I’m plain sight! A fav from us.
Thanks Dactal for creating, placing and maintaining this cache.

As we are staying at this motel , of course I had to find it! I saw it first but didn’t check it thinking it was part of the structure. A few minutes going back and forth I saw it, but pushed it further down! Eventually I was able to extract and stamp the log. Thanks for the fun!
We are on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next week. As we missed all the previous events, it is now time to grab some of the caches in the area. Another big day doing some of the trails araound Barcaldine.
Stopped off here and found after a short search.
Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.

Very nice hide, this one took awhile to find. A favourite point from me. Outnabout for some solo caching while camping in town overnight. We’re taking the roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. It’s always a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Fun find, took a wee while but eventually spotted it!! Tight squeeze to extract it. Learning new diversions to stop attention from muggles
Steel tree that ‘barks’ was found but could not locate the cache.

Today's leg of out trip Longreach to Blackall. Arrived at the caravan park in Blackall to find that the free wifi is only for Telstra customers... so we are now catching up on around 60 logs!
Had a great time caching in Longreach. Boot went to the QANTAS museum, Bee completed more puzzles!
Searched as part of our 'north for warmer weather' trip from North East Victoria to Central Queensland, via Curtis Island! We have enjoyed the great variety of caches along the way. Thank you to all the COs who maintain the caches along the way.

Just across from the Caravan Park so once the heat of the day g one, decided to take the Geopuppy out for a walk and cache. Thanks for placing this cache here!
When we arrived in Barcaldine two nights ago, it was pouring rain and so we decided to go for a walk with her umbrellas and eat at the local pub. We had no idea at that stage that there was a cache hidden here.
On our way back to camp tonight, we stopped here to collect this one where we made a quick find.
It is a lovely old fence!
Thanks dactar and chillers

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 7 with a change of direction for our trip due to road closures so instead for Tambo to Emerald we had to detour via Blackall and Barcaldine updated the GPS’s to collect caches along the way along with heaps of grey nomads towing caravans even a group of old vintage cars and motorbikes along the roads to contend with.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

The size and the hint had us looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place but eagle eyed MrT spotted the micro container.

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.
