Unfortunately I can see this has been muggled. Found one half of the container around the toll and the other half in the bike lanes.
Beautiful walk this morning from nearby Rocks park and took a walk down memory lane. It was lovely to see the old toll booth still here . I clearly remember planning every trip to the coast with the correct change for the bridge . Thanks for the memories but unfortunately all I found of a cache was a lid. I've emailed the CO to advise.
Nice quick grab before the slow ascent. As stated in previous logs only half the container exists. tftc
The container has split in to two separate halves and does not stay closed.
It's a miracle the logsheet is not ruined.

Found at 8am.
I was participating in the Great Brisbane Bike Road and stopped at the bottom of the bridge for a quick gulp of water.
I wondered if there was a cache close by, so I checked the map and found I was only 6 metres away!
A quick check of GZ soon revealed a sneakily hidden cache.

In the area doing the nearby Queensport Rocks multicache, and it wasn't far to walk to this one. Nice quick find today - quite pleasant and no Muggles around.

Haha blast from the past! Yes I remember throwing the coins in, holding your breath waiting for that last coin to drop through, hoping to god it was the correct amount
Great hide,we got fold up bikes for Xmas and these two were our chance to use them and get some exercise and culture or history or something like that. Tftc
I remember when I was a kid our dad used to let us toss the coins into the chute at the toll booth and they'd rattle around before going down. Then we'd sit with bated breath waiting for the boom gate to rise.
When I was older eTags were introduced and you didn't even have to stop. You could just slow down and as you approached the boom gate could rise and, as a young man, I would plant my foot to the floor and fly out of there.
I still remember when they dismantled the toll booths. To me, it was a sad day, like the passing of an era.
It's nice to see that this toll booth remains as a reminder.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane and TFTC culture50

After a Clean Up Australia Day event in the local area, Tikis 1, 3 & 4 decided to grab a couple of caches and do a little exercise. This was the first on the walk and a nice quick find. TFTC.
Parked under the bridge & wandered along the bike path, which I had all to myself today. It was a very pleasant stroll indeed with a nice refreshingly cool breeze & the melodic chirping of Superb Fairy-wrens accompanying me along the way.
Arrived at GZ for a nice quick find.
Just be careful of wasps when you're searching!

Had my money out and ready but no one home to collect it! Great idea to keep this booth here for memory sake! Tftc.
Found it whilst returning from a walk up and over the bridge with my muggle friend (working on converting her). Love that they have retained a toll booth. Quick easy fund once I put my thinking cap on and took account of the hint. TFTC
I felt the need to get out of the office today and after a job at Bulimba, I continued on to find myself parking on the main drag here and walking back to commence the assent. I remember toll booths very well and really like what the historians have done here and elsewhere on the bridge. In rather damp conditions, I worked my way up and down but found zip. Eventually I brought the little sliver to light: really, I must have touched it at least twice, but the lesson here is to just keep on looking if the options are slim. TFTC where all is fine.
Nice placed cache. Did not have time for double dare as it was getting dark. TFTC culture50
I was out caching with Captain Terror since he had solved Fangsoki's lab cache. The hidden code was on the top of the bridge. I had found the cache at the top but I hadn't found this one so he left me at the bottom and jogged up the path.
I started searching around and it took me a little longer than it should have but I came up with the container in the end. I signed the log and replaced as found. Then spent another 15minutes waiting for the Captain to come back down again. Thanks for the cache culture50

After finding a sort of nearby puzzle I had a bit of time on the way to work this afternoon. Parked under the bridges and walked to GZ collecting Munzees along the way. A very quick find at GZ , which was nice. It was a bit chilly out in the wind this afternoon ;-P
On my way to double trouble. A nice pit stop and opportunity to check my laces. Thanks
I was heading to the north side of the river and was a couple hours ahead of schedule.

I found this cache in September and could have sworn I logged it but seems not. I remember it was a nice day for caching and even remember where the cache was hidden but what happened after that is a bit of a mystery.
I vividly remember a few of the people who worked the toll booths - there was the lady who wore a white cotton glove for handling the dirty money and that glove was pretty grotty by the end of the day; then there was the young girl who was always so happy and had some very interesting tats and the lady with the fake fingernails that were really long and always painted with interesting colours and patterns. I always used the "manned" booths rather than the automatic ones so the toll booth people would keep their jobs for a bit longer. I also remember racing home to avoid some of our fierce summer storms and being waved through without payment presumably to keep the traffic moving.
So this cache was a bit of trip down memory lane . Thanks for the hide culture50.

After work I needed a cache for the day and as I was leaving at 6pm, this was going to be the closet and easiest. I am sure there was a munzee at this location sometime or other as well.
Besides the fumes from the cars the air was a cool and fresh. Perfect way to unwind after a stressful day.

I remember the toll gates, especially one time, when I had just gotten a new(er) car and had to fix the window winder, that day I had to open the door to pay the toll
I made sure I drove home another way. Eventually I fixed that, but these days it is much nicer have an electronic tag, far less hassle, but kind of sad to see the toll booths gone.
It is nice to have a cache to remember them by, this afternoon there were not many people about so the cache was found pretty easly.
Thanks

Nobody there to take money from Ghostgums, Kaisho53 or myself today. So we pleaded ignorance, pretended there was no need for any form of monetary exchange, and left with a "smile-y"...
With the three of us spread out at Gz, it was not going to take long to locate the container and I was lucky to find it in a few seconds... [^]

I remember stopping at these toll boths and paying at the window or dropping my coins in the basket.

I still have no card to go over the bridge hence I take the long way round.

Another one of those Geocaching discovery situations, I have rode past this spot on the bike so many times and near stopped to check out the old booth. Always nice to take in some history ( in this case modern histroy)
Found at 0820. A quick find and a look over the old toll booth while in the area. It reminder me of a time when paying for tolls was much simpler than today. TFTC.

And the owner of the suspect and much-mentioned Munzee is..... me
I had been meaning to do this cache for quite a while. It is clear across the bridge from my work and I can't get it and get back in my one hour lunch time.
Today I was a lazy sod, and drove over to the Queesport Rocks carpark under the Gateway (Administration Road). I legged it the 350m or so to the cache.
I knew exactly where I was going. The Munzee (called "Salute to the Tollies") has been here since about January 2012 from memory - I wanted to check on it while I did this cache.
As with many Culture50 caches, I pulled up where my GPSr told me - at a very likely GZ and made a quick find. The cache was in excellent condition. With the log signed, I returned it to its home.
But what of my Munzee? I had not read the logs - as far as I was concerned it should be in place - but it wasn't I looked around and started to fret. It was actually a genuine plastic munzee tag. I was about to leave and then I found it neatly place near the ground - sans its rare earth magnets.
Well I hope whoever wanted the magnets, got the most out of them. At least I was able to retrieve the munzee. I will re-deploy it soon.
A very worthy place for a cache, Mr Culture50. I am glad to see one of these booths has been placed here so we can remember them. TFTC

1st of 3 finds today at 8:59.
I felt like going for a ride today as the weather was not overcast for once. I wasn't sure where I would end up on my ride when I started but the kms added up and I decided I would attempt to find the cache on the top of the Gateway Bridge.
When I finally arrived there was a large group gathered at the top. Who could blame them, it's a nice view, so I kept on riding and was glad to see there was another cache at the bottom.
This wasn't the quickest find and I thought I had a searched where I eventually found the cache. I spotted a Munzee during my search, looked like litter with a QR code. I found the cache in the end and was able to sign the logbook.
I decided that since I was on this side of the river that I might as well attempt the other caches over here so off I cycled.

One of the joys of caching for a number of years is that you get to go to places you have been before.
This way you know the best places to park and the easiest access routes.
Of course I had found Double Trouble some time ago so it was easy to get to the right spot to locate this cache.
I can't remember that this memento was here the last time I passed but it probably was. I recognised it straight away.
The cache was in the second place I looked. I found a Munzee lying on the ground but for some reason it would not scan with my phone so I assume that was not activated. Not that I am into Munzees but if they are there I will log them.
Thanks for the memories Culture50.

Out and about with Lady membsec for our last caching Thursday for the year. Silly holiday season gets in the way of so many things! We were headed for the top of the bridge and stopped here on the way up. I fell in love with this cache from the words pay here! I remember going over the bridge all the time and when I was younger stopping at the tolls was always fun. Would you get the cranky toll person or the chatty one or the one who just completely ignored you? Sometimes we would pay for the person behind us to see if we could get a whole stream of good deeds for the day? Ah who knows? Then came the automated gates... throw your money in No personal one second meetings of some stranger to either smile or frown at you. And now..... JUst one beep for paid... a couple of beeps to let you know you need to top up your bill or that dreaded BEEP, BEEP, BEEP!! Well there is no fun in a beep now is there? So anyway, loved this cache, brought back a lot of old memories And glad they have kept one old booth for historical value.

Out and about on our last Thursday for the year with the lovely Nyssaflutterby. She sent me a text asking if I wanted to climb a bridge.......climb a bridge???!!!! Oh why not!!! Took a little while to work out where to park but we soon zoomed into the parking area and set off in search of GZ. We picked up this cache on the way up to another cache. The GPSr soon had us where we needed to search and it didn't take very long before we had the sneaky cache in our hands. A quick sign and then up, up, up we go!!!!!

Was starting to feel dizzy at altitude and pretended not to see Captain Terror step over the fence
Then the cap'n pops up with a Munzee in his hand!
As he was contemplating his find, I made a find on the other side of the (strangely misplaced) toll booth. Is it there for when the Premier decides to start tolling cyclists?
We signed and replaced and continued our ascent to Double Trouble.

Par for this course seems to be surprisingly high and with A.LadyBug today we sure didn't score any birdies. After parking down below and wandering up, we began the hunt where the GPS told us to do so. Thinking it would be a bit easy, I was most insulted when we hadn't found it in about 5 minutes. Eventually I thought it may be muggled as I'd spotted a few magnets. I tried the other thing and came up with a munzee instead, how about that. At the same time Ladybug found the cache. Nice timing. Added names to the log and it was time to go for double or nothing. TFTC culture50
Found while a NPM (approx Aug 2012). Nice spot and a good place to do some exercise!
Oh yay, I didn't realise this was one of culture50's as well, I was beginning to think I couldn't find your hides (see double trouble). I rode here from Forest Lake this morning. Took me gfar too long to find this one, I was expecting something smaller & stuck out further. Funny how expectations can detract from a good search . ANyway, not many others around at just before 7AM. Some other cyclists & some walkers I had to wait out. But all good. Interesting spot too, I'm glad they prerserved it. . TFTC culture50
Yet another perfect morning for a bike ride and some geocaching
So I checked the map and formulated a plan for a cruise around the 'burbs.
First up ..... head for the bridge
I already knew from the cache name where this GZ was
Just 15 minutes after riding out of the driveway at home, I was trying to make change
I soon found the cache and then proceeded to do something that would be rather silly on the other side of the barrier.
Yes !! I made a 'U'-turn and headed back the way I had come

Dropped in to this one first, and I'm glad I did! Found the cache at 1235 after a short search in all the usual places. I'd never seen one like this before.
Then I continued up the hill to try again!

Found by Sunshine Toledo at 11:20am. After a short walk from the parking place, I was standing near lots of traffic heading south. The cache was in an obvious spot but, of course; I didn't look in the obvious spot first so it took quite some minutes to find. TFTC.
Was out doing some errands early this morning, and I was running just a bit early. So I pulled into the Queensport Rocks carpark and took the short walk to this one. Its only a few weeks ago that I found Double Trouble, and admired this structure. Indeed I thought it needed a cache, and now there is one.
Nice quick find. Also happened upon a munzee nearby. So I registered for munzees as well.

As soon as I saw this cache on the map I knew where GZ was from the name. I often ride directly past this place. I did not have much time today and this was perfectly placed for a quick grab on my ride. Having some local knowledge from previously finding another close by cache I found this one in the first place I looked. Another day ticked off with a cache find.
FTF!! Yay. This was a one man find, as the better half the murch-uneathers had to stay home to looking after sleeping geobub. Thanks for the cache
