A lazy day touring around Peterborough and the backstreets admiring a few kangaroos Lizards and Goats on our travles searching for these hidden boxes and the nasty (Blow up the factory) Nano's.All caches were in good condition unless stated otherwise. Thanks for the cache chrispy89Find Number 10815

Away for the June Long Weekend with TheWhiteDogGang. We based ourselves at Orroroo and travelled far and wide over 4 days. We managed 1,500 kms during our travels. We managed to find some really old caches, one from 2001, and even managed to get all 9 terrain ratings. Not bad for 2 old farts with no coordination. The weather was dry if not cold on occasions.A good way to spend 4 days.No silos here anymore.TFTC

Last night fitzy_1965 and I stayed at my cousin's place. We, like the rest of the household, were up and on the road early. Our plan was to attend the Mega site, target a D5/T5 cache type that we missed last Feb 29, and then head as far North as we could collecting counties along the way.We ended up in Wilmington at a great pub/hotel and were very thankful for the new air con!__________________________We managed to jag a park right outside the Mega site carpark....couldn't have planned that if we tried! Now we are off to collect oldies & counties as whatever inbetween. This was one of them. All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

34,282. Found with minniek during our trip to The Great Leap Forward Mega Event in Adelaide on 29th February 2024.Day 3 : After staying overnight at minniek's cousin's place, we headed into town this morning for the main event - literally. After lots of planning and driving we were finally here ! After the fun of the Mega was over, we cherrypicked a few caches in town, then headed north County hunting. Lots of great caches to chose from. This was the next cache - and it was a nice quick find once at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on to the next one. Thanks chrispy89 !!

Day 3 of my short Geocaching weekend. Today I left White Cliffs Reserve zigzagging along the way finding what caches I had not found and ended up stopping in Yongala for the night.

Just finished grabbing the photos for all the churches so I could work out all the "Church Caches" tonight and had just enough light left for one more cache.

While staying in Jamestown we enjoyed today caching in Peterborough and Yongala. Peterborough seems to be ‘Nano Central’ and as these types of hides are definitely our nemesis, and not our favourites we weren’t surprised to end up with a few DNF’s

We were surprised by their massive size and wonder if they are still operational. It must have been extremely busy in their heyday.

OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa

Staying nearby in the caravan.

Great view of the silos from here.

Took a bit longer than it should have as the T rating had me thinking “wheelchair accessible” which this hide isn’t but got there in the end.

Peterborough to Jamestown
While towing the caravan we stopped along the highway where it is safe to pull over.
Once we had dropped our caravan at the camping ground we did a tour of town following the geocache trail. This was a good way to visit town for our 1st time.
Thanks for placing the cache.

15-Jul-22
Day 3 week 1 of 5 weeks off on holiday.
A beautiful little town. What a shame it’s nearly deserted.
The little green shrubs/weeds (what ever you call em) are near lethal and perfect guardians for this cache.
Watch out, the dead looking ones are even worse
I pointed out to Buttons where I thought the cache was, but of cause proceeded to poke everywhere else but (did I mention the sharp pointy stuff?)
Of course, I being the taller of the two of us got selected to hunch down and go chasing after it and there it was. /sigh I hate being right.
Log signed and returned to it’s natural habitat, where some other poor joker can come along and find out the hard way what to avoid.

We had planned to visit Peterborough for the weekend to attend an event and do some caching. and as we had to deliver a heap of Crystal Decanters that we had engraved for the Clare wine show, to them, we figured we are halfway there..might as well carry on, so we organised a day off and are having a "long Weekend' up North! LOL, its easy to see what a Chrispy cache is, you only have to look for the Uppercase letters! TFTC

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us. Wink

Arriving in Petersborough late yesterday for 2 nights. We booked in for the 'bundle' tour at the tourist bureau and thoroughly enjoyed the night tour and now the day tour! What a highlight and not to be missed on any visit to Petersborough

Now out caching in the freezing winds, we set off with a list of nearby caches when the phone went 'bing' with a message from a friend to advise of a nearby FTF. hmmm not in the original target area, lets see how we go! Well we zigged and zagged adding double the number of caches to our original list on back gravel damp roads and finally back at camp 5pm.

We found your cache in good order, once we eventually found it. oh how embarassing how long this took. Red Face

While Eagle looked at the train line, Owl searched for the cache, then played with a variety of caches to find just the right one to replace it (with the CO's permission). Hopefully as sneaky as the original, but Owl was pleased to have a smilie in Yongala (and a backup cache in case she'd mucked up the Peterborough LGA find!)

03-Jun-18
Can the CO please check if this cache is still in place. Thanks

Hi there chrispy89.

This is the 2nd of 3 caches we didn't find today. Twisted[:(!]

We spent quite some time here at around 12:34:00 PM, but we just couldn't locate your cache. It's either not there, a very clever hide or we are just suffering from "cache blindness", so here's a DNF from us. Twisted

Regards
Ian and Penny

Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for a fun cache guys. Love your work. We signed the logbook. Warning this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise.
