Very interesting to read about sadly didn't have much time to look but great stop
Don't know what happened at this cache but it managed to remain hidden from us today. We spent quite some time looking around the area but decided eventually to move on and hope it was just a case of cache blindness. Maybe another time.
Located but we chickened out and didn't sign the log due to a massive resident spider! Haha.
I detoured on my drive from Melbourne to Ballarat to visit Creswick and I'm glad I did. Plenty of caches to find and a scenic little town to explore. Thanks for the cache.
Came up from the south to have a try at collecting a few caches while having a
look about at the same time. Found it retrieved it signed it and replaced it.
Thanks sully1 FTC.

Found by Mary & David, in convoy with micaparamedic, the Coffees and Team Crackers (MMCC), at 1415. Making our way home after the weekend in St Arnaud. The country looks wonderful! Interesting history here. Retrieved a pathtag. Our thanks to sully1.
Discovered a cowboy tb here, which funnily enough suited the tumbleweed that rolled past in all the wind. Great cache, good to see one big enough to house trades/tb's.

Travelling home to Melbourne after a couple of days working in Maryborough and I need a cache or two to break up the trip.

Find #1112 for me. This was a quick find for me this morning, on my way to Ballarat with my 4yo daughter. I let my daughter make the find making it a little exciting for her. Fantastic location and great for taking some interesting photos. We took a tiny dinosaur and left a mini-football. Thanks for bringing us here today sully1 and thanks for the cache!
We attended an event today at Gong Gong & decided to continue our day out this way. So many mines, it must have been a busy area in its day! TFTC
Again, accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks sully1 for the cache.

Fascinating to see all these mines, current and disused. No TB was spotted in the cache. Everything was AOK. TFTC Sully1
We specifically made this trip with the weather in mind, especially the forecast of snow and we weren't disappointed. By the time we worked our way through this series of mime caches, the weather had turned pretty bad and along with rain, we got sleet, hail and what we came here for - snow.
This was a great series to showcase these old Deep Lead Gold Mines and it's good to see the spoils being recyclyed and put to use.
Thank you sully1 for bringing us here and also for the cache placements.

An easy find, li,ed the container and admiring the nearby lanscape, especially observing the old buildings close by. TFTC
2:24:00 PM. It is nice to be out and about and away from muggles. So much history out here. You don't realise how many old mines are around the area and some still being worked. Log signed. Thanks sully1 for placing this cache.
Find #917. A quick easy find for geohubby. Thanks sully1 for a scenic cache
Found with Emthegem while searching for the Mine caches in this area. Quick, easy grab to add to the days count. Tftc.
Late Entry :We headed off for a lovely day in a lovely area, We were out finding some of the mine series and just couldnt go past this one, very interesting area, and history, TFTC
Out completing the mining series. This old structure has quite an interesting history. Thanks for the info and the cache sully1
We have had our eyes on this area for a while now. With both of us having a day off, we decided to head up the highway and collect some smiley faces. Even though it was a cold start to the day, as soon as the sun showed itself, it was a perfect day. We had a blast exploring this area, we never realised just how many mines are in the area !! There was a nice variety in the cache containers and the cache notes were very informative as well. A successful day with no DNF's !! Thanks to all of the CO's for a great afternoon, we can't wait to return. TFTC sully1
We found your cache Buried Rivers of Gold - Berry No. 1

Out and about with my caching mates the suscoe cachers today and North of Ballarat so a few caches in the bush where the 4x4 White Beast would have enjoyed the fairly easy bush tracks and climbed the occasional steep hill. The silver falcon was a little out of it's comfit zone but did a great job.
The morning we had a little drizzle and then the sun tried to shine through but the day was fairly cool for this time of the year.
We were past here a week or so ago so back to sign these guys that I missed.
Thanks sully1 for placing these caches.

Found on a late night caching run while in Creswick for the weekend. This one proved to be a quick park and grab and we signed the log under torch light, thanks sully1 for the hide and the history of the area.
Out caching for the day with Yogster and pack of Geo Retrivers. What a great day for it. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC. Out caching today with clan McStormy. Enjoying this area with the old mines and historical significance.
Out this way finding a few caches and enjoying the scenery and places they were bringing me to. I enjoyed visiting several mine sites today. The cache was a straightforward find. TFTC sully1 and the info you shared.
We had come to this area following a report of a Bills Horsetrough being found nearby, and decided to search out a few caches while there. tftc.
Crusty.

Found with The Drovers today. A quick find as we once more commented about the number of hills in the area.
Day 3 camped at Creswick with Alansee, we headed out for a country drive, to grab some caches.
With a good variety of hides, most caches were found after short search.
Many thanks for placing this cache, sully1, for us and others to find.

Out with dehands on this gorgeous day! What amazing history we have around here!
Found whilst out and about enjoying a caching afternoon in the area with Wozzle68. It was the last cache for the afternoon and we nearly didn't come up this road, but Chook noticed the grand structures from a distance and we all decided to go for a closer look. As we neared the area, we also noticed there was a cache here, which thankfully gave us the background we were after for this magnificent and important piece of Victorian gold mining history. TFTC sully1
In Ballarat today to clean up this area of new caches and some old ones we were yet to tackle. We must admit to not ever investigating this great farming area out here with all its history of volcanoes and mining. So on this lovely sunny day it was great to catch up on some unfound caches and some history.
We both got out this time, the male Triton to find the cache and me to take some photos of the ruins.
Thanks sully1 for the history.

We were in Maryborough for Saturday night, so on the way home we spent some time caching before heading to Melbourne town.
Last cache before hitting the road in earnest!! Quick find by Campbell and Trent, container went flying as Campbell realised a little spider was underneath.
Thanks for the cache!!!

Yet another cold day in Smeaton! Nice to have a cache to find while visiting family.
Headed the long way to Creswick for a day of Geocaching with Wonder Woman WW so we could grab this one and a few others nearby. A nice quick find at an interesting spot. Freeezing today, couldn't feel my fingers by the time the log was signed! TFTC sully1
We arrived from NZ yesterday evening to spend a couple of nights in Daylesford. With the time difference I was awake at 5:30 this morning so I decided to get full use out of the rental car and headed out to explore the area, and find a few caches along the way. I spent a most enjoyable couple of hours exploring the country roads, taking in a most beautiful sun rise along the way. Cheers and TFTC
Wow! The things you find caching. This is a beautiful old engine house, even in its disrepair. I love the pride and workmanship that was so common back in the day for such things. Thanks for bringing us here and for the hide.
Third in the series and they all proved easy which was just as well as I couldn't do hard today!!
Whilst logging the cache the farmer came down his drive had a good look at me who was taking pics by then, drove slowly up the hill and turned around and came back by which time the cache was safe and sound in its hiding place.
Love the countryside around here
Thanks Sully

Nobody else around today so could take my time looking at the remains of the mine-from the right side of the fence! An easy find. Left friendship braid. TFTC
What a great spot. Lucky I could pretend to use my phone to take pictures whilst numerous cars drove past!
Australia Day! A great time to catch up with the family, do a spot of camping and of course find a few caches. We were off to Lake Bolac to spend an extra long weekend of fishing, telling a few stories and a round of golf.
Of course, the fishing and golf provided great fodder for the story telling, the fish that got away or the golf shot that was almost a hole-in-one so a self-perpetuating vicious cycle was created.
Alas, today I had to pack up and head off early as I needed to be elsewhere for the day with my side of the family.
I was on my way back to St. Arnaud from the family function I decided to take a detour and grab some caches on the way home.
What an awesome piece of construction. I would love to be able to look through the cornish pump house one day. I know not a lot remains but I love looking through at old constructions.
The cache was found easy enough and the log signed. I sat down for a while longer and just stared.....amazing.

A nice quick find on our way to the Earthcache down the road on a hot morning. Thanks for making us stop and appreciate what has happened here so many years before. Thanks sully1.
With crazycatwoman and 1geokid. Nice views of berry mine and found cache a little off GZ though. TFTH.
After doing the fireworks for the Ararat carols last night we decided to come home via a slight detour to pick up some caches along the way.
We were very impressed with the historic details on the cache page and being ex prospectors we are always keen to find out more about anything to do with gold. We saw the mullock heaps from quite a distance away and were very impressed with what remains of the pump house. The cache itself took a little longer than expected to find but only because we started looking by instinct and not concentrating on the GPSr.
Thanks sully1 for the cache.

My first personal find. Great placing, we had to look for a little while. Great view and the building with the mine backdrop was spectacular. TFTC
What an incredible area to hide a cache. Thanks for bringing us down this road to seek out the caches. I never knew any of these mines were here, and have been travelling to Ballarat along the same Creswick-Newstead Rd for 20 years!
Thanks for the cache - was found by AzzB.

A very frosty start has given way to beaut sunshine.
A nice quick find here for us.

Thanks to sully1 for bringing us here, Mr. S's grandfather shared the stories with us about the great mines around here as he was born in Allendale in the 1800's.

An unexpected day off in the middle of the week and some lovely sunny weather meant a trip to Creswick and a few caches was in order.
It is great to see so many new caches around this area and we enjoyed finding a few of them.
We had been meaning to get out this way to find this mini series and the morning was just perfect for a drive. Eddie loved finding this one all by himself.
Thanks sully1.

Decided to take our time travelling home from kids cross country run and collect this threesome, quite easy finds with a nice little local history lesson for miss 11.
This was find 6 of 11 for this mornings caching effort. I was making my way up to the CVGT VI event in Echuca and was keen to make the most of some dedicated caching time. The weather was perfect and I wasn't troubled by muggles at any of the locations.
Being ANZAC day it was all quite here. The cache was quickly spotted and then I wasn't here either.
Thanks sully1 for placing this cache and bringing me here.
