Today we decided to head North and try finding the caches between Wombarra and Stanwell Park.
Unfortunately and disappointingly, we found far less than we attempted (4 out of 13 = 30.77%). This was by far one of the worst days we've faced in a long time.
We agreed that these caches need to be checked by the CO's.
Pretty defeated to come this far for likely missing caches.

Searched high and low for this guy to no avail! Found some animal traps deep into the nature - ran for cover!
Found with BillHill531 and the_garbageman on a long day trip down to Sydney and beyond. The main aims of the day were to finish my D/T grid and find a few scenic adventures. Leaving a little early, we quickly finished off my grid, before teaming up with the Mighty Minions and eventually finding ILLA WRONG. Then a nice walk along the beach finding a few scenics and a couple of unloved caches.
Fearing the climb back up the hill, we continued on hoping for an easier way out. We were here for quite a while before I finally found the cache. With your back to the ocean it is a little to the left of the rocky corner. Not as for in as the cave with the crab traps, which we all kept searching, as it was pretty cool. We got about eight months unloved for this cache.
Thanks for the unloved cache!

Found with TOMBI! and the_Garbageman on a excursion the southern side of Sydney, to get some high D/T rated caches. Got to the recommended parking, and headed to the unformed path at one stage it seemed to stop so The_Garbageman tried a steep slope with no return, then TOMBI! found the continuation of the track, I could not help TGman back up and not hearing from TOMBI! presumed that the track was OK, hoping that TGman could make his way to use, I followed TOMBI! down. We tried to find TGman, and were happy to see him coming down our track. From here we followed the beach/rock areas down to the surf clubhouse. Starting at "sheer Driving Pleasure" and trying for all the caches to "Jim Allen Oval". After arriving at this spot we determined the GZ we split and searched separate areas until TOMBI! came up with the goods. TFTC
A day of adventures in southern Sydney and further south with TOMBI and BillHill with the intention of grabbing a bunch of high DT combo caches. I think we made the trip down from Newcastle very worthwhile indeed with a dozen caches in a day, most of which were T4 or more.
This series along the Clifton coastline was one of my targets for the day as many of these caches qualify for either the Scenic Adventurer challenge in the Corrobare Forests up near Cessnock, or the D2T4 challenge in the Watagans.
We did this series from north to south and then walked back along the road. After a morning that had already involved hiking and bush bashing in the Shire and with the temperature pushing higher 30s for much of the day, it's fair to say we were flogged by the end!
The three of us climbed all over the headland here before TOMBI made the find. So hard to spot things in the dense shrubbery. Got it in the end though. Hopefully our extensive tromping over the area makes it easier for the next people. TNLN TFTC

hmm after dnf'ing this we chose to turn back, enough scratches and cuts for today. Feels like it should have been easy so mabye its missing?
After missing this one on the northward route, we had another look on our return. As I bumbled about, the wife searched in a totally different spot and quite quickly came up with the goods. We did miss Clifton Beach Illusion though, so one more trip down here will be necessary.

Why be like that with the hint. It's only been given a d2 so something more about the pile of rocks would have been useful. Tftc
Found the crab pot and then was stumped for a while. Crawling around where I shouldn't have been. Found it in the end
Had an enjoyable walk along the rocks & beach to this cache. Great conditions for getting here. Came across an old metal crab pot before finding the cache.

Working our way north we walked past it at first! You can cover 100m pretty fast along a beautiful smooth beach! I had cottoned on to how these caches are hidden but geodad had and he was soon tossing the cache to me. Thanks for a beautiful walk. Such serenity
2nd out of four caches we found yesterday. We approached the area from Wombarra beach and found 'Palace Hotel' on our way (the geocaching replica, anyway). The Race Course was a quick find. After signing duties we went on hopping north. TFTC The Arkaroo!
I had joined forces with Team Canary for a day of caching on the coast.
This was the third find along this stretch of beach/rock scramble. The race was definitely on. Who had more agility to hop along the jagged and irregular rock formations.
I think I was the one to spot this one.
Thanks for the cache.

Together with Noodles22, my youngest son and Ii went on a two kilometre rock hopping adventure at what was luckily low tide.
Spot on coordinates led to an easy find. Then off to hop over some more rocks!?!

I told the girls (10 years olds) to look, but what's the hint was the reply? Serious! Where have all the others been hidden, it didn't take them long.. TFTC
After a lengthy search at the first location of the morning, I was worried how the rest of my progress would be...
Was relieved to spot an unusually placed cairn very quickly. Had a quick look at the view, then back to work

TFTC and thank you for the great location. Caches like this make it a worthwhile activity.
Found with J+J.au as we found these challenging caches in this beautiful area. SL..TFTC
This was a lot quicker find then the privious one we did, have the beach to ourselves. TFTC
Find number 6 in this great series rock hopping on a perfect spring morning. TFTC.
We were passing by with not much time to spare but the tide was out so a quick sprint along the beach & the cache was in hand, will be back for the rest of the series that we haven`t found. Lovely scenery along this part of the Illawarra & a quick find before the tide came back in.

First miss of the day heading north - later finds gave us the method, but our path did not return this way.
Our sixth find on the way from Cliffton. Another great stop to rest our tired legs after rock hopping race!
Thank you for the series, The Arkaroo!

Number three on my way north from Wombarra beach. It took me a long while to trust my GPSr and to ignore the heavy stuff, and to look in an easier spot.
Thanks TA, some great terrain around here, oh and I picked a day with really low tides to make the going easy.

Finding this cache today worked out well for us today. We'd come up to Coledale to visit friends so after catching up we all headed to Scarborough to complete the final one of these coastal caches.
Knowing the track made for a quick descent down to GZ level where I soon had the cache in hand. I thought I would have found others on the beach but I had the place to myself.
Thanks

An easy find for this cache, which makes up for my disappointment on missing the nearby cache.
Great to be able to visit this little beach that I had not dropped down to before.
Cheers

Another cache along this fantastic and scenic part of the Illawarra coast! The way down was tricky, but I think there is an easier way? Once down I enjoyed the walk and was surpised by the close waves as I went at maximum low tight (but with rough seas). I can only imagine going here on a wild high tight would be crazy?

Leaving the Palace we made our way down to the beach which we had to ourselves. On the rock platform not far away there was a lone rock fisherman trying his luck. Its always a pleasure to do coastal caches like this - especially on a sunny day. The waves were metronomically washing the beach and rocks and that special beach smell accompanied us on our way. After a short stroll along the beach we made our way up to GZ and the cache. Liked the rocky seat!
Big rock hop at high tide but got there in the end.
Lots of goodies in the flotsum and jetsum on the beach today SE winds tend to bring in the rubbish.
Thats all this lot done, now for the Coalcliff series.

Second cache on the way, such a beautiful area and much fun getting around there! Teamed up with SLKH and M&M007 and mike.
On a sunny Sunday we teamed up with M&M007, momo14 and mike for this a bit more challenging series. We approached it from the south (scarborough hotel) which was a good idea since there were some ropse installed which helped during the descent. Down at the beach we were rewarded with a great scenery and the knowledge that muggles would not cause any problems today.
We were jumping from rock to rock and from one cache to the other, stopping inbetween to enjoy the quite different rock formations, the sea and the cliffs.
This was an awesome experience! Without geocaching we would have never gone down there and missed out on this great adventure (and welcome work out).
Many thanks Arkaroo! We are looking forward to your other caches!

Congrats Steeba on FTF! Second cache of this series, Great spot we soon realized these caches were going to take a little longer with all the rock hopping going on!Found with SLKH and Mommo14 and Michael our (soon to be cacher)
Well it was a FTF hunt at lunchtime today and this one was a success- a FTF which seems to be fewer and farer between these days.
A beautfiul stretch of coastline- thankfully the tides were on my side today and I approached from the south. A quick find once I reached GZ. TFTCM and the FTF!

Ready for a beach sprint? Or prefer a boat race off shore! Any way, a location for a great cache, which is still free and available. Hidden today during my inspection tour of the other caches in this series!
