No response from the cache owner.

Stopped off to locate this one, there was an obvious Geo hiding spot - but it didn't contain a cache, I searched another few likely spots - still with no luck !! so back for a second look at in the obvious spot - still nothing.- pretty sure I had the right spot, so I will return one day if a found log is placed...

25-Apr-14
Not in the obvious hiding place.

06-Apr-14
Flood water (small amount) has been through this area, the ants are going absolutely crazy building above the water level of the rain and the scotch grey mozzies were like a swarm of flies on a sheeps backside so I did not spend a great amount of time on this one. The quick look I had did not reveal the cache. Will look again another day.

#77!
No living residents anymore!! Nice little hidey hole and a great spot for a birds nest!! It was an easy find but the stop/go roadworks alongside this stretch of road makes it hard to be discreet!! Thanks for the cache!

31-Aug-13
Oh yes, there is something living in there, and they scared the life out of me when I replace the cache....... Big Grin TFTC

15-Aug-13
I think I was close but the bird with a couple of eggs wasn't a fan of my visit. Might leave it a week or so and try again.

15-Aug-13
Been west for the last month so now it's time to head east again. Found the dust, heat, roadkill and starving cattle a bit depressing out west. Looking forward to seeing the colour green again.
Mr Beetle jumped back when reaching in to make the grab. There is something living in there and we suspect it might be a bird. He replaced the cache with a stick just in case. Thanks.

This was a nice little hidey hole, although it does currently have a resident of the avian variety, and I do believe she was none too pleased to see me! I retrieved the cache without disturbing her, signed it, and left. TFTC.

Love seeing these trees... TFTC

Having got the Friday off work, we chose to make a four-day weekend out of ANZAC Day and head West. With the plan to catch up on a couple Caches in the Bunya Mountians, we chose the Jondaryan Woolshed to camp at and circle out from there. Trouble was, there were too many around here to be focussed. Smile

From our camp, we headed into Dalby for a day of driving around and geocaching.

While it's all pegged out nearby for roadworks, this one is not affected by those roadworks.

89Km From Home

Our Big Weekend Out West
After 10 minutes not being able to get a stable fix Mrs R-F had had enough and finally passed the Blackberry to me, I followed a fix that changed direction and distace cinstantly as I walked in a huge arc. I eventually got to near what I though looked like a likely hide and guess what………..
Along with most of our finds Saturday, I think we mayy have gotten the date wrong on our log.
Took nothing but memories and left nothing but our tag and footprints.

Hide, log and container are in good nick.
Thanks for the cache Geomoccasin.

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.

This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.

Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.

I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.

Today I made my way from Roma, through Dalby and Millmerran and onto do some more of the A.S. series out of Stanthorpe that had been added; before crashing in the car in a great little spot I found just off the New England Hwy somewhere south of Tenterfield.

The hide location became obvious once I arrived and after a short search I managed to locate the nicely hidden cache. Thanks.

When we initially pulled up and looked to the area the device was pointing us we were very disappointed as there was a ute parked right at GZ. It looked like could be awhile potentially having a nanna nap.

Onto the next one, returning about 20mins later. All clear. Arrived at GZ to find that I dearly wished I had brought my gloves - a huge pile of bird poo had caked together the few sticks providing the camo (no muggle would have been interfering with this cache looking like that!). Too lazy to go back to the car, I gingerly grabbed the clean end to reveal the cache which had copped a bit more camo of its own. Signed log and carefully returned said sticks. Thank goodness for antibac wipes!!!

Just wondering whether maybe this might be a nesting hollow??? It looks like a bird sits here regularly to produce a pile that big. Otherwise there is a giant bird in the area!

Out for a long drive today, 400+km and 24 caches later, round trip.
This was another stop along the way. I have finally made it to Dalby after a long drive.
I was very careful NOT to drop this one when replacing it.
Thanks for the cache.

Quick find at 0945 with no one around. Had a problem taking the container from its hide. If not careful one can drop it and it will be gone. Wrote on the log and then put it back very carefully. Covered it a little better. TFTC
