Perth/Darwin TripI had some fun finding this cache and, of course, qualifying for it over the last 12 years. We headed into the bush and quickly found the first waypoint. I made a rooky mistake with calculating the final waypoint so that took longer then it should have. A beaut bit of bushland to explore. Day #2. I have had WAGB, and caching in WA, on my todo list for some time. I contemplated booking in earlier in the year but couldnt commit. Two weeks ago I decided I might just be able to make it work. So a mad scramble began. Last minute flights, accommodation and cache plans - tick, tick, tick! After being awake for almost 24hrs yesterday, I enjoyed a good nights rest and it is time to go again. Focusing on some caches and LGAs north of the river today, this is just one of the many great caches found.I had attempted this one last night, however after finding WP1 as the sub was setting and almost being late to my own event, I had to bail on the field puzzle and return this evening to complete the task. Out and about again, had some time to kill so grabbed this and a few others nearby.This is 15902.Thanks to Grahame Cookie for the caches I have found.

A note for now till we check our stats.When we saw there was a WA version of the Well-Travelled Challenge it was at the top of the list of caches to find. Since qualifying for the NT version we can't be sure we qualify for WA's as we're now a few years older and will probably need to add more 10km increments... a small price to pay for still being here. The waypoint was found quickly, surprising as it was very well hidden. Fortunately MrG was in the know with what was needed to work out the final and I soon had the calculations done. As always, it's great to find a big regular cache right where you worked out one should be. TFTC Grahame Cookie.

We are visiting Perth for a few days to attend a family reunion. Brads mother was the youngest of 10 so there are lots and lots of relatives here. It promises to be an interesting day. Brad last came to a family reunion here when he was just a bit younger. In 1963. We went for a drive today heading towards Fremantle and then inland to meet some friends. Grabbed a few caches of opportunity. Like this one. We have a similar challenge cache in South Australia but we were 8 years younger when we qualified for that. Many years in the making and a move 300km away from Perth meant I could finally complete this one. My travel bug I use to calculate kilometres travelled states I have covered over 41000 kilometers caching. Impressive little feat for me. Thanks for the ability to log this challenge.

Thank you! I've been working on qualifying for this cache for a few years, and thought I had it sorted after a trip to Geraldton and Kalbarri last year. Unfortunately my distance guestimates were out, so I made a point of figuring out exactly which two caches I had to get during a somewhat random road trip to Albany last month.
After a daytrip near Dwellingup today, I took a detour on the way home to find this cache - I wasn't sure I had enough caches to continue to qualify if I got too much older. It took a bit to find waypoint 1 - of course I found it in a place I had already looked. Not long after I was at GZ with the cache in sight.
Very happy to have finally completed this one. A fav from me.

What an adventure! This challenge was completed within 5 years of discovering this one on the geocaching website. But with so little caches near my home residence (35 within 250 kilometers) it was a hard one. Luckily the CO explained me that there were some exceptions and even with that I did not qualify yet. Fortunately a few new caches were introduced both nearby and around the 400km mark and also I got a few years older so it all was within the margins now. Today was D-Day and GZ was found quickly but finding the cache took a bit longer. This had nothing to do with the coordinates though but all to do with our eyes. Once we found the cache geomissus gave me the coordinates which I punched in the GPS'r. Not long after that I had the feeling something was wrong and we returned to GZ. This time I read the instructions myself and re-punched the new coordinates. Off we went and the final cache was found pretty quick. Nice hide and a big relief..... TFTC and this nice challenge Grahame Cookie and an absolute favorite deserved!

Just re reading the 'write note' that we logged when we found the cache under our family name 'clan-wallace'. Well that did not quite pan out as intended! What a journey! What an Adventure! Quite a few Birthdays later we were struggling for the last few so we decided to take the Bull by the Horns & travel out to Kookynie to finally qualify for this one. I cannot remember now whether we set the starting point as our home coordinates or our nearest find at the time, anyway they would only be about 500m apart.
This Challenge is most definitely AGEIST!!!!! The less able we got the further we had to go!....But we did it!!!! TFTC have a favourite for the journey

This challenge cache came to my attention early on in my caching career way back in 2014. Since then I have slowly but surely been knocking off the targets. The problem was that it was a bit too slowly as the years kept rolling around the task become more onerous.

Not being one to shirk the issue by claiming my daughter as part of my team I was determined to accomplish the task on my own. She wouldn't call herself a geocacher nowadays anyway.

A recent trip up north and back through Kalgoorlie with some caching buddies crossed off the last half dozen or so targets. So I am now able to go out and hunt this cache down.

Arrived at the first waypoint and after a quick google search on the phone I was on my way again, probably would have guessed it anyway without google. A short stroll to GZ and I spied the nice large container more or less straight away.

Very, very, very pleased to finally claim a smiley here, thanks for the challenge and pushing me to go to places I would not have otherwise. Awarding a favourite.

I have used my home location as my center point but it still works for my closest placed cache (GC4XZKJ)

Thanks so much for this challenging cache we had to look awhile at the final before we found this big cache.

Find 12 of 17, with no DNFs for a change. on an interesting bike ride around the wetlands on some often sandy tracks. With the recent rain it was all rideable but sometimes hard yakka. Our entertainment today was mostly sponsored by spotandpatch who have constructed and maintained some excellent caches.

Doing a co-ordinate check so had to pop in to grab these two. All's excellent with both of them. We can't claim a prize as we are too darn old and are a long way off qualifying. Thanks for the maintenance Fairwaydrivers and setting it up Grahame Cookie.

Having had this one on my radar for some time and noticing ICnothing’s recent find. I took the opportunity to swing past and have another look for this one and was pleasently surprised with a quick find at wp1. The field puzzle was quickly solved and I am very happy to say the log has now been signed.

Now for the formalities. As Stickyfeet does cache as a team of 2 adults/2 kids our team average age using the formula worked out to 19, So with a majority of caching being performed by one person. We are using their age, So are striving for a distance of 400.

TFTC Grahame Cookie

Found and signed the log for this one back on 15/08/2015, but have had to travel many, many kilometres both here, interstate and even overseas (if you count our "other" holiday island Bali), but the gaps still remain in my stats for me to claim my smiley using just my own age.

So what does a girl have to do to get that much desired smiley? Well, I have read through the listing very, very carefully and found a way to make my claim legal, at long last. Yay!!!!

By including my son in my team (the technical brains behind many of my geocache listings, as well as being my PAF help when I am out in the field and need something checked on the gc website that I don't have access to otherwise), the not so enthusiastic caching partner when I have screeched to a halt on various roadtrips with him in tow to stop for a cache, not to mention the many, many times I have arrived home late from a day of caching to be too tired to cook and he has had to take on kitchen duties whilst I catch up on my logging. So, like it or not kid, you are part of my team - get over it!

Looked at this cache 12months ago and aimed to have this challenge completed by the end of the year, When we first put the data together we only had a few gaps a positive of enjoying our travels around the state and focusing on country caching rather than the city. With our recent trip to Albany providing us with the final requirements to log this cache we were off to find it.
Unfortunately our first two visits we could not locate WP1 even with some very helpful advice from the Fairwaydrivers. After Fairwaydrivers replaced WP1 and providing us with the clue to find GZ we again came unstuck with the checker. Again Fairwaydrivers were able to confirm we had the right co ords so of we went and found the cache without further problems.

We went to check on WP1 and found it safe and sound. The coords may be a bit off so will fix that!

After a friendly hint from fairwaydrivers had another look today after work, but unfortunately Wp1 still eludes me

Was hoping to find this one before my birthday in the next couple of weeks, but Not to worry after checking, I've still got the next 5 year/kilometre brackets covered

This one has definitely been on my radar for sometime and with knocking off the last two distances required over the Easter long weekend with a great trip down too the Manjimup area I was jumping at the gate to be finally able to hunt this down

Today being the first time I have been in the area during daylight hours, I took the opportunity that I had to try and grab a smile.

But Alas after 40 minutes of searching high and low for wp1 I had to leave empty handed today as my lunch break was up.

Knowing that the local maintainers had checked up on this one in march, I am sure the instructions are still there. But a severe case of cache blindness today is not helping the situation

I am sure I will be back after reaching out for a little help

Checked this today and all is well, including WP1. You can get a view of where Roe 8 is supposed to go nearby.

This cache took my interest a few years back when we moved to WA & after a trip up north I had done a check to see if we qualified for this one, but we found a trip away would be required to finish this one. After recently moving out into the hills, I had checked this one again to see what we needed to qualify & again we had a couple missing but different from the first time we looked.

A few weeks back we had a weekend away, & whilst down there I remembered this cache, so looked up what we needed to qualify & the caches were added to our list for the journey home I prepared a list & even added an extra as I was not sure when we would get there to find it... Fresh in our memories, I decided to make a detour whilst headed south to visit friends

The temps were nearing 40 & it was not pleasant searching for WP1... We searched for around 30 minutes before consulting a previous finder. Apparently the WP is missing & we were given instructions to reach the final woo-hoo Thankfully after all the effort including looking for WP1, the final was quickly to hand!

Nooooo... We were fast running out of time so we did a mad dash down here to collect this sought after cache. Not sure we actually qualify but we weren't going to be able to check that until we were back in Canberra with access to GSAK. Zoomed in to GZ but despite a lengthy search we couldn't find WP1. We did find a key early on that got our hopes up! But the hint said to keep looking. Time's up so we had to call it quits in the end. Thanks anyway Grahame Cookie - it was good to visit the area.

Incidentally, we don't qualify anyway. We're missing 8 radii from where we live in Canberra (no placed caches here) and 9 radii from closest placed cache from where we used to live in Brisbane.

Well this has been a long time in the making . Many miles travelled and more than a few trips planned around ensuring that the qualifying caches were collected . Thanks to Fairwaydrivers for the nudge after my DNF last time here and I was able to add my name to the book today . A fave point from me . I will add my list of caches later today!

After travelling to Geraldton for Their fantastic IGD Event we have got that bit nearer to qualifying for this one. We could probably do it with Wiild Cards but I am going to try & do it all the right way.....before my next Birthday! So I am planing a trip to Esperance which should finish it off. Signed the log book today, in anticipation.

We came by to replace this burned out cache. The bush is beginning to recover and the council have tidied it up. The die-back prevention shoe treatment station is working again. While replacing the cache we also signed the log because we have eventually completed the challenge. The Waypoint has been totally destroyed, and the cache has been burnt.
But the main problem is that the bush has been burnt where the cache was hidden.
A new hiding place will be found, but the local helpers are heading off on holidays, so please be patient.

Being a senior citizen this challenge is gonna take some doing....but we are working on it. As we were in the area we thought we would sign the log book. Shock, Horror, Gasp! A very recent fire has gone through the reserve & you can still smell the smoke & charred vegetation. The GZ did not reveal any final coords. I think they have been burnt. I will send pictures to the CO.

Spending many trips back and forth to Kalgoorlie we were lucky enough to be able to fill several gaps in the radius. Then a trip in August filled in the last of the required blank dates.
Both of our team members are the same age and the only missing date being more than 10 years away from our age. That is until a trip to Esperance when we can fill the last one up to 670kms.

Now this has been the cache I have worked on the longest.
Nearly 2 years ago, Jinta29 and started planning some trips in order to fulfil this challenge.
We both live near each other so the list of needed caches were very similar. A couple of trips around Perth and a massive trip up past Geraldton for IGD 2014 put most ranges as complete, with just one to go for me. And that was 100km past Albany with the only cache to fill the gap. So I put it to rest.
Fast forward to a month ago,while checking out the caches on a business trip to Geraldton again, I found a newly published cache on the highway that filled my gap. Happy dance and the gap was filled.
Fast forward again today, I quickly found WP1. No help from Google needed and I only wish I knew the answers from experience
Off to the final location and I can now finally claim this cache.
A favourite from me for the overall experience of hunting down the caches I needed.

Up in Perth to visit son to help remove some unwanted trees. The job took less time than expected so had a couple of hours free to grab some caches and decided to take advantage of the great weather and stop off on the way home to Mandurah and grab some around Bibra Lake.

I have been working on this challenge since it first appeared and although I qualify for well aged and well traveled it has taken some time to gather the caches at the correct distances to qualify to log the cache. Even so I had to seek dispensation from the CO for a few extra exceptions as I seem t have skipped the fifties (500's) and gone for the higher numbers (perhaps that's a comment on life as well [;]).

The final puzzle had me stumped for a few minutes but a few quick online checks gave me the answers I needed and soon had me at GZ to be rewarded with an ammo box .

After doing a bit of cache maintenance, I caught up with urch and we headed northwards to find a few caches and try to clear a small patch on our maps. Since I was in the area, thought I would come and find this one. Will troll through my stats and claim my smiley when I am sure that I have earned it. Thanks Grahame Cookie

I looked at this cache soon after it was published and loved the concept but when I collated my list there were a few too many gaps. With the 'Geocaching Road Trip 2015' coming up I thought maybe it was time to revisit this cache and try to earn a souvenir for a D5 cache! After adding four lines to the bottom of my list (how depressing, where does time go) I found I had only two distances missing. Hmm looked like a road trip out Kalgoorlie way was in order but no couldn't find any caches the right distance to the east, maybe Albany/Esperance, but again no! Things were starting to look a bit grim when YES Kalbarri and Hutt River Province fit the bill. Had a great week away logging some fantastic caches including the two we needed to complete our list. On our return we headed South, found WP1, solved the puzzle (thanks google), quickly had the cache in hand and signed the log!
As our only cache is an Earthcache at Wolfe Creek Crater and there are very few caches out that way, we have used our home coordinates to compile our list.

Have a favourite!!

On a previous visit we spent ages looking in the wrong spot simply because I did not read the description carefully. This time it was a different story - both the coordinates for WP1 and the cache are spot on and the very well stocked cache was found quickly, signed and returned. I took a giraffe for my granddaughter who has a collection sf giraffes, and left Huey, Louis, and Dewey in its place.
Unfortunately I don't have access to GSAK or my computer over here so I must wait till I return to the east before I can log a find.

I had been eyeing off another cache in Mandurah to collect my D5/T5 souvenir with, although I wasn't too sure how I would go with it. I was searching the map this morning working out where to head to for a day of caching, and stumbled across this cache again. I decided to see how many caches I needed to collect to be eligible for this one. I fired up the computer and GSAK and started working through my list. To my complete surprise, I found that I was perfectly eligible to claim the smilie here. I guess that is the bonus of having found over 1500 caches and being 24. Makes things quite easy. I came past today to collect my smilie and the added souvenir. When I got to the first waypoint, I was stuck...I had no idea what I was looking for and the hint only made things more confusing. I trusted my coordinates and soon enough found the data I was chasing. I then made a mess of the geocheck as I made some silly mistakes and finally got my green tick on the checker. A few minutes later, I had the cache in hand and signed the log. TFTC and the challenge Grahame Cookie. A fave point for the challenge.

We were in Perth visiting our daughter but fortunately we were able to spend a few hours finding some caches, one in particular which we required to fill our D/T grid for a second time. We headed south and while in the area, we also targeted some of the available challenge caches.

We did the right thing when we entered the park and washed our boots before heading off up the path toward ground zero. Our GPS wasn’t being very helpful and was swinging all over the place, making it difficult to locate the waypoint. Out of frustration, we put in a call to the cache owner for a hint, but wouldn’t you know it, as soon as we hung up we spotted the container with the information for the field puzzle.

While some people would have no difficulty with the puzzle, we didn’t quite know what we were required to do, so we took a photo of the info and headed back to the car thinking we will probably have to come back another day after we had worked it out. Fortunately, as we returned to the car we had a light-bulb moment and wondered whether we did know what to do after all. While we sat and had some lunch, Mrs Just a Trifle did some googling and came up with a likely set of co-ordinates. It didn’t take us long then to locate the cache and add our name to the log. While visiting family in Perth, we took the opportunity to search for this cache. We didn't locate WP1 initially but as is usually the case, as soon as we were off the phone to the cache owner, we spied the container with the information to locate ground zero. We will complete our log once we return to Queensland.

TFTC! What an adventure this cache has been. A work in progress for quite some time.

I don't have all of those smart apps and websites which would probably make this a lot easier to qualify for. I went through all of my cache finds individually to get the distances and work out which bands I had missing, which was quite time consuming as one would imagine.

Fast forward to November and I'm missing one last distance band and just can't find the time for a SW trip for just one cache. Fast forward again to January and I thought I best sign the logbook at GZ, which I DNF at.

Fast forward a week. Made the SW trip to pickup one cache to complete the challenge. Now, Back to find the physical cache as it was confirmed as in place. 25 minutes into the search I'm getting hot and bothered and very frustrated. Ring a friend to contact a previous finder, send them the message then check one spot, BINGO, send them another text to say it's found!

A real adventure Graeme. I'm lucky to be a younger cacher with several thousand finds to my name! This fills in one of my caching goals to complete this challenge before my 25th birthday in April (the CO doesn't think I look a day over 18 in some of my caching pics!) and helps fill in another spot on the DT grid.

Went to check the cache and it is safe and well. The coords were not as accurate as we would have liked maybe a couple of meters out. Go a bit South. Read the hint and look for a group of those three.

Came here with barnzy12 as he had finished the criteria to log a find however no joy in finding the large cache

DNF! Found the first WP easily and knew what I had to do with the info. Made some basic errors...sorry bout messing up the lovely geochecker!

Got to the final, and couldn't find it. Both GPS got us to within two meters of the same spot. Searched there and then expanded the search area a further 15m in all directions.

Was a real disappointment not to have found the cache given this has been a long time in the making and one of my caching goals this year (an idea i stole from the CO) is to complete this challenge.

I'm happy to explain to the CO where i looked and can provide a replacement cache at GZ if it is indeed missing.

Well several months on and this is where im at. 23 of the 24 spaces filled. Have planned a short trip down south to pickup this cache. In the mean time im due to actually go and sign the log at this cache! Hopefully tomorrow.

We qualified for this challenge and got our list approved in August as we looked up caches for our Oz vacation. It took two trips down to Bibra Lake and a clarification email with the CO, but we got the find today. This was probably the most work and travel we've ever done for a challenge - this final is about 10,800 miles from home! The crazy things we do for this sport, eh?

Found this one today, but am away from home... babysitting for a few days... so will assemble the required list when home again. The WP1 info was very damp but still readable. However by the time I assembled the required info to find GZ it and the container had dried out in the lovely sunshine.

Well this Cache, as you would expect has taken me far and wide, and too many places i never would of
dreamt of visiting if this Challenge had not been placed, so a big thank you to the Cache owner for setting
the task.

Another big thanks to my Geobuddies Mr and Mrs FELIX, without which I would never have a reached a few of the far flung places that enabled me to fill in a few obscure gaps in my list.

I still have been left with an empty 320 km slot for a few months now, until "SeabreezeOZ" gave me a reason to make a 400km round trip whilst on Holiday in Margaret River to fill in the missing part of the puzzle !!

After completing the 45 caches required, (plus 1 for good luck), I found a slot this morning to head SOR in search of the final hide. No problems here, a quick discovery before heading off to the FINAL cache.

We had recently taken a drive up north past the CO's local area and collected a few caches to fill in a few gaps. Being in Perth its was time to make the find. We headed to the way point and took far to long to find the field puzzle. Once we found the way point we swung into action to solved it and then headed off to GZ. Nice to see an ammo can. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC Grahame

Well this cache was brought to our attention by Everlasting. We dont get notifications for unknown caches South of the River. Anyway Mrs Felix set about compiling our list. Even back then we had almost all we needed up to 490km except for a gap in the 430-440km range. But seeing as we needed to go all the way to ....... well alot further to get to Mr Felix age we put it in the too hard basket until we could do a week long trip to Kalgoorlie. When the map formula was listed we relooked at it but still had some gaps so still left it untouched.

However when Cookie posted the note that the map formula wasnt quite right again we looked at it and decided if we found Boondi Rock before the end of April we might be able to claim. So a caching trip that was supposed to take us to Albany and Denmark took us to Coolgardie instead!

So using the MAP formula we only need to go to Age 48.666666666667 so shall we call that 490km.

Sorry for the teams, and the mistake in the MAP formula.
It should be TWICE the younger age, plus the older age, then divide that total by THREE.
So the example of a 50 year old and 80 year old team should be MAP= 60 (not 70)
Where: 50 x 2 = 100, + 80 = 180, divided by 3 = 60

After getting a very generous exception from the CO for my 1 virtual cache I thought I had better get onto finding this cache quickly before another birthday rolls around (Saturday).

So I came out this afternoon to try and find the cache. At the first location I spent ages looking for something that might give me further instructions about the final location, but it was only after about 20 minutes that the really obvious appeared to me.

Then it was a short walk to to the final location, and I found the cache in the third of the three options, of course... I should have guessed it was going to be that one first. *sigh*

I rescued the Jeep travel bug and decided not to leave another one, not knowing how long it might be before this cache will be found again.
