Used to walk this trail a lot in my twenties having grown up just a few houses away from the edge of the bushland. Took my brother with me to collect a few caches and we reminisced about a lot. A really nice day for walking and talking. This was our first find today and a cheeky one! A quick find after carefully reading the hint. TFTC!
This was cool. We started searching on the wrong side of the path and completely overcooked it. Saw a couple of these ones with lots of Favourites out here and also some green bushland on the map so made a plan to get them.Out caching with Cherryfromtheblock today after a rainy morning and a bit of a wet start it ended up being a really nice and fruitful caching day.Weirdos spotted: noneSnacks: Tamano sushi seaweed and avocado salad for lunch which was awesome.TFTC
Winter brings some challenges, e.g. flu or cold symptoms. Left work for some geofinds. Best to breathe in fresh air and drink lots of water. Too a while to find CIH, thence the actual one. Another favourite point. Thanks Rainbow Spirit
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. Read the hint before finding the cache, but still fell hook line and sinker for it! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 8. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Finally found it after a DNF long ago I went down a different path and there it was I didnt fall for it cheers
Yes that it trick me. Find the container and I thought it was the Russian dolls. Got to the last one and was disappointed that I hadnt found it. Started looking around for another container the dumb ass I am. Then I read the clue again and really thought about. So decided to open another part of the container and out pop the proper cache. Very clever
Another day OCW Oldmorty and we took on the Northmead area. With many FPs we knew it would be good and the it was. Felt like I was in Russia and fell for the final like the CO had planned. TFTC and FP!
OCW morty8888 around Northmead today. With the generous hints we were soon signing the log and reassembling the cache for the next cacher to find. TFTC and FP added.
What an extremely clever little hide! I loved the extra puzzle! Signed the proper log and replaced as found; TFTC!
Find #: 3,359Companions: NoneMuggles: NoneWeather: Pleasant spring afternoonCache condition: GoodAfter dropping my daughter off at athletics coaching I headed across to this cache. I parked at the suggested spot and headed down and through the reserve, and was soon at GZ where I soon had CIH. I followed the expected path - cute! TNLNSL, thanks for a fun cache in a lovely little reserve
Great day wandering around the lakes and surrounds today. This was a fun one. Tftc!
Very clever, love it. Great cache I see was got so many favourite points in this beautiful location. What a spot
Another great hide in this pocket of bushland in Carlingford. After passing a few bushwalkers and mountainbikers, we jumped down to the appropriate level. My friend made the find on the cache, and from there it was time to decipher this Babushka Doll. A few ideas lead astray until we came across the solution on something we had noticed earlier. Genius!
Signed the log, and from there it was just the trouble of fixing it all together. TFTC, loved this simple but ingenius hide. TFTC.

Nice quick one. A favourite point added due to the thought behind the container.
Approached from Tallwood Drive following a steep trail towards GZ. The cache was then relatively easy to find but the log was a little trickier to locate after being caught in a babushka labyrinth.
Nice work on the container and a great spot with the nearby waterfall cascading nicely after all the recent rain. Thanks for the cache and have FP for the effort.

Out on a family bushwalk. Finding the cache was easy. Finding the log was a little harder. Got it after a bit of investigating. What a fun cache! TFTC!

I've finally redeemed myself. Although having said that, it was Muggle husband to actually found it first. I also now understand the title of this cash. Great cache to retrieve. thank you

An afternoon of Covid safe caching in my own LGA. Not many traditionals left, only a few multi's and many hard-to-solve unknown caches.
Once I found the cache I remembered I was here before and holding the very same container. Again I was fooled, but not for too long and I had soon CIH.

Nice, unusual. Found on the 5k Lockdown Project. Great piece of bush here. TFTC
This was the first cache we targeted while in the area today. Without giving away too much, we have to say that this was a fascinating hide. The decoy container was a bit exposed though. Not sure if that is how it is meant to be. Thanks, Rainbow Spirit for a fun cache. The 4Rods.
Found this one after Measure Up with FelicityID. We spotted the container almost straight away. Uncovering the different stages, we were very grateful to be together because it took two of us to make it through the second stage! After making it to the end, we get the message that we hadn't found the log book. Thankfully I'd found something mildly similar in the past and made the mistake then that I wasn't going to make today! Tftc! It's a favorite from me
4, 3, 2, 1, but where's the Kaboom? No Kaboom. No Kaboom if you don't keep your powder dry. Signed the wet log. Clever cache idea. OCW Brewmaker. TFTC Rainbow Spirit
1,2,3,4. What do we want? After checking the wrong level we found another option with closer distance. Finally spotted it under the bottom tier.
Then the task of finding it using a methodical system, only to find a red herring. Then more searching found the correct log. It was very wet but I managed to dry all inside, then replace on the top tier and hid with SPOR. Have a FP. TFTC

A good walking track. There has been a local burn off recently which is good for the bush in this area.
Ok I agree with the difficulty rating. This took me 20 minutes. The GPS was a bit bouncy so I wandered up and down the precipice for a while and I eventually spotted something on closer examination of the GZ using the hint. Easy to miss this one. Then the misdirection cost me another 3 minutes but turned out to be easier by engaging the brain a little.
It's amazing where water can get in ~ even the inner most sanctum had water in it. I let all the pieces and logs dry. Signed the real log and put it all back together. The log was slightly damp but good paper.
Took it down to the Waterfall for a picture past the local Bong Cave !! Perhaps that is the Bush Ranger John Donohue's Cave from 1826 - his kin have moved on from illicit stills to more herbal remedies !!

I was up the central coast for work this morning and on my way back to the office I had to take advantage of this beautiful weather and what better way than to go find some caches. Surprised I haven’t tried to find this one sooner! I was looking around GZ and then something caught my eye hehe. TFTC
Found with Bluewattle Mini and Bluewattle Junior. Signed log as BW, BWM and BWJ TCTC
GPS jumped around a lot making it difficult to get to GZ. Had a look at some areas according to the hint, but nada.
Had a bit of roaming around here there and everywhere. But once the GPS settled we found it quite easy. Thanx
This one took a while to find. Looked around a lot, then went back to where the GPS said it would be. After a closer look we found the cache. Nice hide. TFTC
I can’t help but feel that this one has been fiddled with and put back to be easier so changed it back to what it should be I believe. Right or wrong thing to do who knows. Was here doing weed control so found this while spraying. Ok probably spent 10 times the length of time here that I should have and like a lot of people I had trouble with the gps probably because of the serenity above. To narrow it down for you it’s between the lower track and the creek. Yes at one stage the gps had me above the upper track. Short walk down hill from Tallwood rd. Tftc tnln. Favourite awarded.
No luck here today.
Gave it a good search but the GPS couldn't make up its mind quite where it wanted me so as the humidity rose I decided to head off.

Great location & quite challenging as gps was moving around plus awesome cache. We thought there was a weird animal around here but it was the trees! TFTC!
I was enjoying a cycle around the area in the morning and saw two cache icons on the screen of my GPSr. It had been a while since I had loaded them, so I first had to check on my phone whether they were still current and active. To my delight they were both up and running.
At the point where I entered the reserve from the road I had a bit of a déjà vu moment, thinking I had actually been here before, but the app said that I hadn't found the caches yet. I was probably confusing the area with some other place.
Cycling down the track on my MTB I soon spotted a sign about entering an incorporated bit of land and that using the MTB trails was strictly verboten!! Typical of some officials with no sense of fun ... but what exactly did that mean? I noticed a walker with his dogs and when I asked him about the sign, pointing to it, he laughed it off and said, "don't worry, nobody cares." Well, although that wasn't exactly official permission, it seemed like it wasn't a serious problem to follow the trail to GZ, which I did.
At GZ I had a look at the right area, but didn't see anything. So I headed a bit further down, seeing some lovely overhangs with lots of options to hide stuff. But that also yielded nothing, and the GPSr was definitely pointing me back to where I had started, so up the hill I went again to have another look.
After a bit more of a careful survey I spotted the container, nicely hidden away. The markings seemed to be straight forward, so I took my time enjoying a bit of a Matryoshka moment until the little paper said "NO!!" Hahaha, what was I expecting?!? That's also what the cache page had said. It reminded me of a cache I had done in Hobart where one had to look carefully to spot the actual log to sign.
Anyway, it didn't take long to reassemble everything and have another go, this time revealing the log for signature. I added my name to the list of those who had been here before, then put everything back as I had found it. Great and clever hide; lovely spot to sit for a few more minutes, although sadly, with the dry spell there wasn't really much in the way of a waterfall or even a stream.

found with Ris768 & the geodogs. with the tree cover the GPS was a bit all over the place. after talking to a PAF it turned out I look in the correct spot multiple times just had to reach a lot further into it. thanks Rainbow Spirit for placing this cache

Took the geodogs for a little outing to get our cache for the day. Took a bit of searching and a PAF who confirmed we were searching the right place, poked a bit deeper and finally Deep_99 had CIH. SL #4262 on streak day #2650 TFTC
Great cache this. I took the path rather than any bushbashing. So many possible places, thankful the coords are accurate. Nice one Rainbow Spirit, I'll give it a favourite. TFTC.
Very nice, this is the 2nd attempt at finding this one failed the 1st but with the right mindset i found it this time well done
Funny coincidence, we were talking about a similar idea for caches this morning before finding this one.
This one had all of us amused. First trying to figure out where, then get it out. I had it the right way around, but dismissed it for the other option. After getting a lovely note stating my mistake, we got it right.
Certainly a cache worthy of a favourite from me! Bravo!

You sir, are an evil genius! Took a while to find the cache. Quite hard to spot it, but got down and dirty and had it in the end. Or did we! The surprise was yet to come! We opened up the container and what's this then? Ok, down the rabbit hole we go until... uh what the. Maybe... Ohhhh! Very clever I loved it! Worthy of a favourite from me! Thanks for the sneaky hide!
Yay!! We had a DNF here on the first day of this year And no one has found this since February. So we thought we’d give it another go. Our GPS was right all along although we did yield to the temptation to widen or search. Turns out we used three of our senses to locate the container - that was tough - and our geosense to locate the log. Very clever in true RS style. A favourite from us. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Finally found it after I started looking at the GZ and not exploring in the nearby caves and checking out the water
It took us 2 hours and 2 PAFS to find this one. I've had enough daily exercise trying to figure which level it is on. Indeed the top level. Hubby made the find and the unscrewing.
Cool container.

Located at 10:19am. Well, this was a very productive morning for me....I was up early to firstly retweak and then hide my next cache, then it was off to the library to check out some textbooks whilst quickly ducking to find an easy nearby traditional, nice! And then, the magnanimous Rainbow Spirit! His caches are bountiful and plentiful and always an excellent and fun challenge. I enjoy every one that I find and log and this one was no different. I had located Measure Up a couple of months back but didn’t go for this one at the time. Today was the day. After a good trek to GZ, I arrived and was ‘presented with a poser’, to quote Monty Python. Options, options...I looked over here and I looked over there and then returned to where I was and hmmm...maybe it’s right in front of me, and it was I extracted the cache components and located the log, signed myself off and replaced. Another stellar hide Rainbow Spirit, a favourite point from me (when I accrue my next one, that is, I’m currently in arrears). Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
No luck for us here today and we did give it a decent go. Previous logs told us the coordinates were spot on so we started with that in mind and spread out quite a way from there. But... nothing. We did enjoy Seville Reserve and our walk around here and will watch with interest to see if the next visitor could see what we could not. Cheers... Gaztek
A short bush walk from the car soon has us a GZ, even with the hint there where plenty of places that fitted.
I like the idea behind this cache and thought it was well crafted and fun - a lesson in following instructions....or not !

Sixth and last cache for the morning around North Rocks. I decided to stay on foot from Measure Up and enjoyed the walk in this pleasant bit of bush. Got to GZ and as usual, went off on a tangent exploring an interesting area nearby. Getting back the business at hand, I really wasn't getting that "cache is nearby" feeling. Decided to approach from a few different directions with the distance ticking down 4, 3, 2, 1. Taking a closer look at where the needle was pointing, I spotted something and that's when the fun began. Happy to say that I cracked the field puzzle not long after getting to the red herring.
Another surprisingly great cache in a beautiful spot. I ended up walking the whole loop to get back to the car and enjoyed every minute of it. Still buzzing from the two excellent caches in this reserve. Happy to dish out another fav point.

That's a cool container.... Nice work, my GPS gave me a little trouble but once we were in the right are located the cache pretty quickly. Haha a fave point from me
Meet some geo friends just leaving this one. We had GZ but just could not find it. PAF that had just left. There you are. Great container and for this I give a favourite.
After searching for quite a while got hint from geo friend who had just left this one we were on top of it all the time great geo
Wow we were so close but had to PAF a friend that had just found it and what do you know there it was all the time. Maybe being hungry was the reason for not spotting it. Well what a clever container. This one gets a favourite
After having found Measure Up, we continued along the track and then did some heave bush bashing. Ended up against a fence, which we had to crawl under. Arrived at GZ, where the first observation was that it would probably have been much easier to approach from another entry point, since the was a nice track passing by. Once the GPSr had settled down, the cache was located and the red herring log found. After some further manipulation we also found the Real Log and could sign it before returning the cache to its hidey hole.
Returned back, and of course found the opening in the fence which meant that there was no need for any further under-the-fence crawling.

I came from Measure Up having to eventually bush bash my way and then use the chain wire fence to cross the creek and then climb up to the GZ.
The find was relatively easy and I actually was close to finding the real cache before I went through the other steps.
The return via the track and a simpler creek crossing made up for the journey there.

Two weeks in Australia for holidays with Kirdec.
Day 9. 38°C today, too hot for tourism, so we decided to do only cache in drive in the suburbs of Sydney, and only the one which can helped us to smile some challenges !
Multi, regular, some attractive words in title, ... plenty of reasons
Mostly, the caches were found without difficulty, thanks to all the owners for their work.

Day 9 in Australia with Junkys.
Today we stay in suburbs of Sydney to find special caches with specific criterias because we signed differents challenges all over the world asking specific conditions !
So, today we have to find some multi caches.
We have to find caches with word "rock" in the title.
We have to find caches with word "up" in the title.
We have to find caches with word "road" in the title.
We have to find a cache hidden the 24th august 2012.
We have to find challenge caches.
We use drive-in mode all this day for all this caches !
----------------------------------------
We drove a long time to reach this cache because I need to find one cache hidden 24th august 2012.
We know in advance the previous log was a DNF but we wanna try.
We parked our car near the forest and we reached the GZ by foot after few meters walking.
After 5-10 minutes I found the box...and the box....and the box....and the box....and the joke....
I replaced the joke in the box....in the box....in the box....in the box....And after that I had an idea and it was the good idea : I found the logbook !!!!!

A day of caching in a different area! Lots of fun and lots of good and surprising caches. Weather was more then excellent and I made an early start. By mid day I had already made my way to Moss Vale for a Halloween event. Thanks for putting out all the caches! Tricky to find if you are not understanding the clue correctly.

Found.
Glad to finally find this one on my second visit. Even then took 30 mins of searching, GPS wouldn't settle with the high voltage lines nearby.
There is access from the West. Park in Tallwood next to the yellow bin , follow trail down and take the first track left. Follow down and take next right, after fallen tree. This track will take you about 2 Mtrs from GZ. Font go thru the fence into Kings school property. GOOD LUCK. TFTC

Master Q and I had a good look around but we could not find it. As it was somewhat difficult to keep geotoddler safe whilst searching, we went on to the next cache in the area. I'll be back:)
I had come down from Taree for the Geocaching NSW AGM at Carlingford, and thought that I would try to get another souvenir as well while in the area. (A bit hard to do that - close to home).
Parked just down the road, and followed a bush track to within a hundred metres, and then headed in the direction of GZ. Nice open bush, and a pretty stream at the bottom of the gully. Checked out GZ, where I had very poor GPSr reception, and then went a little further, and, BINGO! I now know how the cache title relates tot he cache.
Found @ 0955, GAFF1. Cache in good condition, and within 3m of the initial GZ search zone.
I thought that I was going to be able to leave a Correct Site Marker in the cache, but when I replaced the cache I noticed that I had left a vital piece of the cache on the ground. And when that was added the CSM wouldn't fit. Oh well, the thought WAS there.

Parked just down the road, and followed a bush track to within a hundred metres, and then headed in the direction of GZ. Nice open bush, and a pretty stream at the bottom of the gully. Both of us spent a good hour and a half here looking, eventually called CO for assistance but we didn't turn up a smiley today. Well this happens at times. Thanks anyway.
WOOHOO - found it but no waterfall Took a little while to get my hands on this one. Clever title now makes sense too. Noted that there was no log inside, just the pen. Decided to tear off a bit of the fuel receipt I had in my pocket to sign as proof and placed inside the lid of #1 as well as a small dice. I then remembered having some spare logs in my car from a recent GC purchase. Thought I'd help out & go get it as I also needed the extra exercise. While sitting in my air-conditioned car cooling off & getting the spare log, I read some recent logs (which I don't like to do until I'm absolutely stuck). There some damp LOGS were mentioned? Also noticed that those who discovered after them noted no LOG. When I got back down with the 'new log' I made a second discovery - the cache proper! Signed one of the included logs & put back exactly as I found it all (didn't need my spare log after all). Got back to the car & realized I'd still left the paper scrap in the lid, but wasn't going to make the trek back down & up again for a third time! TFTC

Found with Jase90 during a day out in Western Sydney in an effort to help me get closer to reaching my milestone goal of 2,000 finds at the last ever Geocaching Block Party in Seattle this August. We started over at Prospect with Madness Gateway and Sydney's Newest- Relocated. Then onto Pemulwuy for William Lawson and Veteran Hall, and then across to Blacktown for Pope's Garden, Train Spotter - Roma and URBAN SV (where we had a long chat with the Cache Owner, nice to meet you!). Back in Prospect we then found Quick park & Grab, for the streakers., For Marissa & Mel's streak, Home Sweet Home, Time to Commuicate. (is it meant to be Communicate?) and Prospect Park First Cache. Heading over to Seven Hills, Jase90 and I continued on to tackle Nice little park & grab and Snowy Reserve Cache. In Girraween we found the Former Railway Corridor Toongabbie, then in Pendle Hill we grabbed Knox's Box and our final stop out west was in Old Toongabbie where we picked up Spot the Geoduck.
On the way back home, we decided we could fit in a few more and we stopped by North Rocks and found 4,3,2,1 and Measure Up. We then finished off the day in Ryde and Eastwood with Up The Garden Path and Beanstalk respectively.
All in all, a fun day out with Jase90 and we picked up some beauties along the way. For all of the caches, I Signed Log and Took Nothing Left Nothing. A successful day out in terms of find rate! Thanks For The Caches to all of the respective Cache Owners.

Found at 1:14pm with JordsAU.
JordsAU and myself were out on a day of caching trying to boost our numbers in the area's of Prospect, Blacktown and a couple of other surrounding suburbs. We started as early as possible this morning so we could obtain a decent amount of smileys. We were also heading to the footy in Moore Park later on in the afternoon which meant that we needed to be finished and to head back by 1:30pm.
I have not done any caches out this way in my 3-year Geocaching career but JordsAU had acquired a small handful over the years which meant that we needed to stick to caches unfound to the both of us. It didn't seem to prove too difficult as there were plenty around.
The weather today was stunning, barely cold in the early morning and it even became quite hot in the late morning.
'4, 3, 2, 1' was the 17th of 19 caches we ticked off today. We made our way to the closest access point from the road and began our walk into the wilderness. JordsAU tells me he had previously attempted this cache a few months ago but had no luck in making the find. Today was a different story as we tracked down GZ with no trouble and soon made the quick find.
There was no log inside the cache which seemed unusual but it was still a very crafty container. Maybe some maintenance required on this one.
Thanks for the cache Rainbow Spirit

We looked around for a cache with 10 or more fav points as a start of the Geocaching Road Trip 2015 and spotted this one. We knew the area from the previous find at measure up a while ago so headed over and parked in a similar spot. We picked up a walking trail which joined the fire trail a little lower down as we parked in front of number 38. We followed the path in. We got to a point and saw the track across the creek and had to also negotiate a fallen tree and then followed the track almost to the fence line before heading towards the creek. We saw a likely are and let thing settle only to realise we only had the phone and not the real GPSr. We picked a spot looking at some camo and had no luck only to investigate some more and then with a long reach made the find of the outer container. We went through the opening process and eventually was able to sign the log (which is a little damp). As it was starting to drizzle again we could not dry the logs out. TFTC

Today was my last chance to spend a few hours rummaging around the bush for a few weeks, so I headed to North Rocks this morning. Geodoggie had a ball in the various creeks and on the tracks.
Well this was very well hidden, I was very glad to make the find. It was not until after a bit of crawling into a human size hole down lower did I make the find. (Which was the wrong place but you have to eliminate all possibilities.) After that I sat down to read a few logs. And then there are the tricks of the creative CO to overcome.
I dried out all the logs on a nearby rock - such a nice little urban bushland piece that reminds me of my childhood haunts, a favourite for bringing me here. The logs took a while to dry in the winter sun, they are a still a little damp but signable.

4tunately, we ran into Rheneas, who also wanted to check out this cache.
3 of us headed down the track to GZ.
2 times, we looked over the various levels of rocks.
1 well hidden cache, that we didn't find. A DNF for us. Thanks for the hunt, anyway.

Bumped into The Drovers finding a nearby cache and we decided to tackle this one. I wasn't confident after the string of DNFs and tales of woe from previous finders. We spend at good while searching various levels and angles for this cache but came up empty handed. Hope to return sometime to find it! Thanks Rainbow Spirit.
Not found on this trip, looked in most places but to no avail.
Will come back again with a better GPS
Will come back again with a better GPS
Searched high and low, under and through. No find. Read previous finds and still no help - perhaps overthinking it!! I'll be back.
Once I stopped relying on the hint and description, my gps led me right to the cache.
At first I thought the log was missing, and was searching my pockets for something to write on, but then noticed something else and lo behold it was the log.
Thanks for the cache.
