On a mission today to claim the smiley on 'Cache a View' (GC15FB) and thought I might be able to access it from the east also there looked to be a couple of archived AP caches up for grabs en route. Parked up on the powerlines track and walked the well formed path from there.

Spent a few minutes here rummaging around before flipping a piece of bark and voila!!

Allied Pranksters I found your cache at 10:59am, this was the 1st of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5808. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Was finding some caches in the area & with only a few hundred metres to this cache I decided to head on & see if it was still here... After a bit of a search (and a great walk through this lovely spot) I soon discovered this long forgotten cache [^]

Thanks Allied Pranksters for bringing me here Cool

Beautiful day for a walk

Last Cache for the day, I decided it was getting too hot and didn't want to be too exhausted for Christmas day, So I will return in the winter when the water is flowing and the temperature is cooler...

Decided that today would be the day to finish off the Golden series that I started back in January, and also do a couple of older caches in the area.

This was the last one before heading back to the geo-Camry. After doing Cache a View, I had a choice: back-track past the others I had done to this one or keep following the trail I was on and look for a short-cut to this one. Decised on the latter, so headed East from Cache a View. When I found myself about 850 metres from this cache and getting further away, I decided to do a bit of a bush-bash and did a farily easy 300-odd metres through the bush before hitting another track which I followed to within about 290 metres of the cache. Again, I was getting further away from the cache, so decided on another bush-bash. Bad decision! The first hundred metres was easy, then I found a bit of a roo trail, but I lost that after about 20 metres and then fought my way through about 30 metres of not quite impenetrable scrub before hitting the track about 150 metres from the cache. Lesson learned?[?] Time will tell Big Grin.

Stopped to have a cup of tea here after signing the log. A nice peaceful area and a good log to sit on made it an enjoyable little interlude ... then it was a brisk walk back to the camry, enjoying this little track before hitting the gravel again.

Signed the log, Thanks for the hide Allied Pranksters ... giving this one a fav because I like the location.

I headed out this morning with my brother-in-law who wanted to do a bit of a walk in preparation for doing some of the Bibb track. The plan was to walk from Ellis Brook across to Mills Rd doing caches along the way. An enjoyable walk but somewhat disappointing caching finding only 9 of the planned 13 caches with 3 DNF's and one we couldn't access due to a fence and locked gate. Thankfully this cache was one of the ones we did find. TFTC.

We pushed on for just one more before heading back down to the car park. Quick find coordinates were spot on, there were a few parts of the path in the shade and Gypsy our geodog kept running ahead to sit and wait til we got there. We had a nice walk in this lovely Ellis Brook reserve today thanks Allied Pranksters we will be back to do the rest.

Wow such a beautiful day could not pass without some caching.

We picked out this area as there are several caches we have not found yet that looked like they were all close to a well-defined path / dirt road, the ruler tool on Google earth told us it would be a 4 km round trip for the 6 caches we had in our sights, sunscreen was liberally applied before leaving home as it was one of the sunniest days we have had for some time.

We parked within throwing distance of AP 388 Golden Compass and once we had got all our supplies together and secured our car we started out looking forward to the walk, enjoying the weather and the bonus of caching.

A bit of water around this area making the trail a bit harder as we were aware of the die back warnings.
Also some of the hills at 1.5 T [?] ahh that's right it's a AP cache, he has bushwalking legs Big Grin

dipped a TB we are looking to drop soon.

Off the power line track and had to head into the bush to locate this one. Still damp underfoot after all the recent rains.

Teaming up with the Richlink and ILuvTrekking for another great day off geocaching. The weather was beautiful after continues raining for the last couple of months. Plenty of water flowing down from the hill with lots of over flowing streams. We found GZ quickly and found the caches just as quick.

A caching day for Mrs Felix and Everlasting had been in the making for a week. Geez it is really hard to find somewhere that we 'both' havent already found some caches. After logging in under both our names and purveying the map 3 options were chosen. This area was actually the 3rd on the list but managed to clamber it's way to the preferred area. Razz and top of the list.. How Im not sure [?]

We always knew this area was going to be a challenge. Pretty sure that's why we both had it on the unfound list. Red Face Anyway after reading the previous logs we decided on an 'achievable' route. 1 car parked this side and the other over near Mills Rd East.

Hmmm the track by now is very very wet and we are really having to cross some serious puddles to continue forward. Covered in mud after traipsing through a mud puddle that I would have been proud of driving the Landcruiser through we continued on. Didn't take us long to find the cache once at GZ and logged our find here at 2.01pm

After checking some likely locations for a nest, K.B. found the cache. Pencil was blunt so I sharpened it with a knife while K.B. signed the log. Thanks Allied Pranksters.

Great day for a hike in the hills. TFTC.

05-Dec-12
We had noticed a tempting string of caches sweeping upwards from the carpark and thought that today would be an appropriate time to take a stroll through the hills gently plucking a few caches as we passed. Afterall they are only 1.5 star rated, Right? Reality take here. After grabbing a few trevkevred caches on the way we continued along the Golden series here. This series of caches really require a much higher star rating to reflect the surface and elevation changes encountered. Nice one! This was the tenth of eighteen finds for the afternoon. We picked up the Oilers GC as with the warmer weather coming on there may not have too many cache visitors for a while. TFTC Allied Pranksters

Out for a day caching from Martin to Ellis Brook with my muggle sister. Approaching GZ I saw the spot which needed searching but it was my sister who found the cache - her first one which hopefully will mean she'll come with me again! Dropped off a TB. TFTC!

Fourth cache in my walk today. Found without problems. Had a late lunch here.

Thanks Allied Pranksters for the cache.

Started at the bottom of Mills Rd East, headed along the Tonkin before heading off to Ellis Valley and the start of the Golden series. Pretty hot run today.
(Actually, I was enjoying the jog, when I turned right and crossed the creek. Looked down at my GPS to plan my next scuttle, oops, backtrack 90m - embarrasing.)

08-Sep-12
Out and about with trevkevred and the 3 geohounds today to find some gold...here we found the nest and a little cache Smile
We had a little rest on the bottom of the hill across the creek before heading west to find the nest.
This is a lovely area to walk in, especially this time of the year with all the wildflowers in bloom.

Out caching with Me&B and my 2 geodogs who were loving it as I've now got a car again to take them out. This was an easy find as we read the info before we got there. I'm not sure about a golden nest but there were pleny of ants here TFTH Allied Pranksters.

Golden ~ another tremendous bush series from the Pranksters. After overnight rain what could be more enjorable than walking through the wet bush on slippery tracks looking at all the wild flowers in full blossom. Parked near Golden Compass and the round trip took 3 ½ hours with sightseeing and also grabbing Lady Bird.

After the last one things got back to normal.

Thanks Allied Pranksters.
