Don't want to archive this one, but three DNF's and its unlikely that I'll be close any time soon so this one is saying goodnight also.
It was raining, it was a white out, it was blowing a gale, the ground was wet and slippery and the cache was not to be found. Pity I would have loved to have this one on my list. Mind you I suspect I'll enjoy a future find on a day when I can see the view.
Excellent panoramic views, but the little pile of brown rocks"right on the edge" no longer seems to hide a cache
More like a "chickened out". I was very close indeed but just didn't have the right footwear on to make that final ascent. Next time.
Been up to this spot heaps of times, pre caching days. I actually own a Suzuki LJ50, that was stolen about 35 years ago. Unfortunately, it was dumped over the edge by the thieves, and now lays about 80 metres down the slope below GZ. I found it whilst exploring down there, recovered the number plate off it, and bought the salvage rights to it, as I happened to have the same model vehicle. Recovery of parts was very difficult, with them having to be dragged back up the hill to the carpark beside GZ. The remains still would be down there.

Definitely had the wrong shoes on for this one - very proud that I managed to get cache in hand without incident!

Today is our last day in Rocky so we went in search of some local caches still to be found.
This was a great morning, & a variety of caches were found.
The views from here are certainly amazing. The cache was found in a precarious position.
Favourite point given
Thanks for placing this cache The Talent

Wow! Loved this one. Never would have seen this track had it not been for geocaching. Thanks for bringing me to this spot. The views are probably the best on Mt Archer. Can also see why some might not like it.
Visiting my mum, Nana, and Peter from the US. I was kicked out of the house for two hours and this was my third stop. Thought that this was going to be more of a park-and-grab; couldn't have been more wrong.
Was wearing Keene sandals; not flop flops, but not the best footwear choice. Made my way to the top and quickly found the right spot. Didn't want to approach from below as was worried about that 20 meter drop. Decided to lay down on the rock above and lean down to pick up the rocks and cache. In the leaning process I am pretty sure I broke a rib. Something definitely went "SPROING" and I am in pain. Not much I could do so I kept on caching. A memorable experience. TFTC! [B]770

quick trip down south to visit friends
drove past a couple of times today enroute to retrieve an archived cache on top of Archer
(Rockhampton's Rock)
stopped on the way back down for the second time [:o)]
yikes - a bit more precarious than expected
still got it in the end - thongs not recommended footwear

[green] I hate heights! Just can't stand them! I get dizzy standing on a chair! So for me this was absolutely terrifying, it doesn't look much from the ground but when you start going up that slippery goat track with sheer drops far below then it is a different story. We decided to go for a drive back up to Mt Archer today and this time we went up in the mid afternoon as we had come up to watch the sunset last night and just missed it. Today we stopped here and set off to find the cache, I soon realized that with Charlie only wearing thongs that it was too dangerous to let him come any further and made him sit at the halfway mark and wait. Once I got to the top I spotted the hide and had to figure a way to get to it safely, I ended laying flat on my belly and reaching at full stretch to grasp it with the tip of my fingers. Managed to sign the log and replace then climb back down without any mishaps, PHEW! What a relief to have two feet firmly back on flat ground, that one had the blood pressure going full tilt.[/green]

[orange] I don't think I have ever been so terrified in my life, but the views were Awesome![/orange]

Personally escorted to GZ by none other than CO himself. It was pitch dark outside, but a hand torch, a short climb, and great cache page did the trick. I hope those love birds weren't too upset by us cachers ruining their tryst [B)] Thx again, TT, for a fun tour of Rockhampton and TFTC!
Scrambled around a bit here - GPS giving a few different directions to GZ. No luck finding the cache, but the kids did find a needle (!)
Wow. Amazing vista. Awesome to see rocky and the ocean from the same spot. Surveysteve88 spotted it first. TFTC.
My 274th cache.
Thank you for a nice hike around Rockhampton and Mt. Arthur.
Regards from Bavaria.

Miss Dooghan was out of the car before I could and heading to GZ. She stop short when she found where she had to go. It was left to me to log the cache. A nice view so out come the camera to take some pics.

This was definitely a popular area this morning, with rockclimbers popping up over the edge with alarming regularity. The GPSr wouldn't quite settle, so we had to explore the entire outcropping, but we weren't able to find the cache. I did manage to seriosuly alarm one gentleman, who enquired whether or not I was intending to jump, and from his perspective, I can easily see how searching for this cache would lead people to the conclusion that you were a suicide waiting to happen. I explained geocaching to him, ad he even helped me look for it, but without success. Given the precarious nature of the area and the fact that searchers who don't know where it is are likely to both weaken the area for other searchers and also end up in more dangerous territory than was intended, I decided to call off the search and head further up the hill for another cache instead. Thanks anyway.
No chance of surf here but it was a case of hanging 5 to score this one
