Was going to look for this one today but when I got to GZ it was obvious this area had suffered badly with the floods. It is currently not very beautiful. I went to the top of the embankment and saw the obvious spot the cache was probably hidden. I didn't however attempt to get any closer. Everything is still covered in caked on mud and is severely damaged. Can't see a goat track anywhere and I doubt if a canoe would be able to access it easily either. When standing at the top of the gully, flood debris was in the bushes and trees well above my head. The cache may still be there but to get to it I would be putting myself in an extremely dangerous position and would be covered in 'flood mud' which I'm told is a health hazard. I hope the CO is able to verify if the cache is still there, and I'll return when the area has recovered. Thanks and sorry Irony9

I made extensive use of the tree climbing icon here. No way could I find the cache. Read previous logs and looked up and looked down. Decided that the cache should be "there" so started looking in the leaf litter below "there". Took some time, but finally saw it looking up at me ... hallelujah! TN/LN/SL and put it back where it almost certainly should go.

I can't say I've ever been to this spot despite my love of the Upper Brisbane. Was with Whint and we pulled up to a few muggles getting about. A bunch seemed to be tradies going for a fish in their lunch hour. Ahh, tough life. I wasn't sure we'd be able to get this one and my short attention span soon saw me skipping rocks across the water. Whint however, headed off a likely track and I followed. Ahh, I probably wouldn't have found this little track, call me blind Razz Sure enough we ended up in what seemed the right spot for an Irony hide. I took to the tree and Whint spotted a likely hide from the ground. It turned out to be right, but it seems to no longer be attached. Extracted the logbook and added my name with a slippery grip on a branch. Rehid securely as possible and we headed off. As we got back in the car a pair of paddlers arrived from someplace upstream, maybe from Burton's indeed. TFTC Irony9, enjoying this series Smile

Found this one with the Captain of Terror while in the area grabbing some caches Smile We pulled up to GZ and there were quite a few muggles around... oh dear... but thankfully there were none that could see GZ Smile lucky! We made our way over and I quickly spotted a likely spot and sent the captain to scramble up to look.. sure enough there it was Smile so nice and easy find today Smile

signed and off we went Smile

Yes, as Bro Colin says, it is now attached, so I had to hang on to the tree with my teeth, the cache with one hand, and my pen with the other hand. How many hundred times have I driven past here over the bridge, and luckily there were no other visitors when I returned from Lake Manchester to grab this one. The pathway off the bitumen road certainly gave the car suspension a good workout. Many years ago we saw a Platypus swimming along the surface of the river within metres of where this cache is located. TFTC.

Out and about with IolantheK after a bit of a hike this morning. Big Grin
IolantheK has found this one so sat back and watched me search. There was a tie on line but it was not attached...it is now though Smile
Thanks for the cache.

I arrived at GZ and parking was at a bit of a premium. I found a spot of sorts and my phone was pointing me away from the muggles, yippee. I took a less conventional route to GZ and made a quick find. I great cache with a bit of a challenge. TFTC

teamdfl and I spent some time on the MTB's at Lake Manchester and on our way home we stopped for one last find Smile There were a few muggles here in their cars, but we wandered away from them. We had some fun trying to find the right path, then realised a little climb was necessary, so dfl went up first and made the find, then I followed to sign the log. TFTC, Irony9.

Dropped in on the way back form lake Manchester with IolantheK. There were a few cars parked, but GZ is well hidden from view. We both ended up climbing for this one Wink

Another place I spent a bit of time as a teenager, those were the days.....

Quite a few muggle types around but all were busy near the bridge, so GZ was clear. Took a few minutes to locate the prize. All is safe and dry. Cheers Irony9 Cool

*FTF* number 2 for this morning. Saw it after I did the "Cachers Was Ere" Cache and thought I'd give it a go. This one wasn't a park and grab. I love a bit of tree climbing in the morning. After a bit of a look around and scratching my head I had the prize in hand. Nice hide. TFTC.
