Out for a cache drive around the Bunyas and heading back home to Kingaroy. TFTC
Found with taurus1955 after a drive around the Bunya mountains. An easy find and a lovely old church as well. TFTC
What a place. A really isolated place. I guess that it must have been quite a town in its heyday. I feel very sorry for towns like these when they close down. It is a very pretty area and the cache was an easy find. I had taken misschief18 for a tour of the Bunya Mountains and ended up in this area.

I've been everywhere man, I've even been to Cooranga North, man!
Not sure I'll put that little fact on my resume though. Or my song writing skills. Net88 and I had spent a couple of days with the CO around the general area and today were on our way home, but in no rush and keen for the scenic route. Having been through the Bunya Mountains yesterday, we went with the west road around this morning with a detour to this church.
A great little drive and soon I had us parked at the main gate. Out we hopped and Net88 instantly attracted every fly for miles around. She was loving it I'm sure, despite the flapping of arms and interesting vocabulary utterances. I foolishly wandered into the gate, not looking at the GPSr, but when I did look at it, I was sent over there. Yum! A can of rocks! I made a quick find as a strange noise approached.
I took the geocache back to the car for us to sign as a farmer herded cattle right beside GZ. As he moved away I replaced the geocache as found - as if he cared about anything other than cows not wandering off the planned route. Now off farther north for us, leaving the herd in peace. TFTC Xusia

Captain Terror and I had just spent a wonderful weekend with the cache owner but unfortunately it was time to head home. We were in no rush to get home and decided to go the long way. We pulled over at this cache and as I opened the door I was swarmed by flies. What is with the country and flies?!?
The Captain had a great time laughing at me as I swore and yelled at the pesky flying demons that wanted to rest on my face. The Captain found the cache quickly once we realised it wasn't in the church grounds. As we were signing the log a farmer started herding his cattle past the church and down the road. Hmmm... we might go back out the way we came instead of waiting for them to clear. Thanks for the cache Xusia.

What an out of the way spot. With a school, two churches and a large hall, it must have been a bustling little place in its day. TFTC xusia.
Memories flooding around as I drive through this area. Years 1-7 at the local School. In year 3 my handwriting won me first prize at the fete held here at the church. Out caching again today with Muff1 team and having a ball. thank you xusia for your thoughtful placement of caches in Cooranga North. SL TNLN TFTC
Out caching with Speedmistress, she showed us the places that she grew up and told us many stories of fun and happiness. SL TFTC
We arrived just before the posted time for the fortnightly service- had just enough time to find the cache before Gods Muggles arrived en masse. Another lovely little country church to be admired. Thanks xusia, Cheers, Bindair and The Princess.
On a detour along the backroads of the Bunya's I am reminded why I devote so much of my time to the religion of geocaching
It is to find places like this, tucked away from the normal tourist routes.
Olde wooden churches are full of character.
This one, resplendant in blue and white is no exception
A short poke around the fence line soon found me the cache

It is amazing in such a small place that they need two churches and so very close to each other. While I wandered around the ground, geo-hubby soon had this one in hand. A great day out and a lovely area to visit. TFTC
Many thanks from Peter for this cache on the 13. Australia Trip (2012/2013).

Found after a day trip to Dalby and while visiting my uncle across the road and showing my family the farm and area where my mother grew up.
Due to the lack of phone reception in the area, I had the coordinates plugged into my Etrex, but didn't have access to other info I would normally use. For this reason, I originally headed to entirely the wrong spot, but very quickly realised where I should have been.
Cache is safe, although I'm not sure how dry the logbook will stay without a plastic bag (if it ever rains ). Sorry I didn't have one on me.
TFTC Xusia. As you already know, I was super excited about these two church caches. Sorry I didn't get to meet you while in the area .

Quick FTF at 1444. Found the one just up the road so this is the next one on the list and the last for the day. 2/2 both FTF. I do not actively chase FTF as my work roster dictates my caching days but if I happen to fluke one then my count towards 200 FTF grows.
Saw this one on the published caches list the other night but did not start my 4 days off till today. I have to drive some distance now to cache so a 140Klm round trip for two is not a big trip for me. Pleasant drive from Nanango to Kumbia then down towards Dalby then turn off onto the Niagra Road then make my way to the two caches at Cooranga North. I had to avoid the cows on the road and the Brown snake that wanted to cross right in front of me. The dirt section is a little hairy in one spot where a washout has not been repaired properly.
Co Ordinates that worked for me S26 45.592 E151 24.421. The additional hint is spot on and you will see a likely hiding spot before you actually arrive at co ordinates GZ.

Yay! A second cache to bring people to the area!! I'll be watching these two (either side of Grandma's farm) with great interest!
Thanks for the caches xusia and I'll hopefully get out there to grab them in the near future.
