This was nufrat and my second full day of caching around Oamaru. We really enjoyed the many trails that got our numbers up. TFTC.
out and about with agazo for another day of caching, took longer than it should have but still managed to find it, tftc
Our last day on the A20 cycle trail leaving from the Tokarahi Huts to Oamaru. So many caches along this part of the trail and it’s a very hot day, so only stopped to give a few caches on our way.
A quick find here and we were back on our bikes. TFTC

We'd come to do the Tunnel section, but found a nice place to park by the Fire station, so had this to find as a bonus. Very appropriate that it's armistice day. TFTC.
What an interesting spot! The signage was confusing as it said open in one place and closed in another. Lovely building! TFTC!!
Determined to grab this one, I returned for a second go at it. Frowny man was nowhere to be seen today so it was a quick find. Also managed to find where I went wrong with the numbers on my last visit, I was in such a hurry that I missed something. So yay now the checksum works!
Now that rain has stopped I can do my next 50 in a day challenge for the DGSc. . This is number 42.
I'm putting this as a note, because although I was there, and I got the info, there was a very frowny gentleman in a scissor lift right on the other side of the fence from the cache, and he was watching my every move. I just couldn't start fossicking around with his beady eye on me, so it was time to move on.
On a caching trip to the Dunedin area with Nosynel. Great to get the chance to see a few more mighty oaks. Great memorials to our fallen soldiers. Thanks for the hide.

A nice building, cross and tree. Jude_E are on another road trip. We're stopping in Oamaru today. Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it.
Cycling the trail. Can’t get them all but can grab a few on the way. TFTC!!!
Another easy find. Will have to get the torch out to finish this series today! Tftc
Wow never expected this to be a private home but it is beautifully kept. Out with busy paws and enjoying some driving after the cycling. Thanks for this cache drawp.
Today is my birthday so set the morning aside to get a few caches! This was one of them and was found nice and easy! TFTC
#17720. Bit of a side trip off our route back to Kakanui, but we needed to collect all ofthe MO info. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ while driving around North Otago picking up as many Mighty Oaks and solved puzzles as possible. A good day out, despite the southerly wind blasting us at many locations. And we had to drive past lots of caches too! Many thanks to all the cache hiders in the area, we are very grateful for the time and effort you put into geocaching.
We should have made the short detour between MO #4 and MO #5 to get this cache, instead had to make a bigger detour from the Kakanui Valley Rd as we headed south to MO #13. An interesting church. TFTC.

Decided to go for a bike down in North Otago on a beautiful sunny Good Friday Holiday and continue where I left off on the A20 trail. I saw some awesome scenery and there were quite a few people out and about today. Sorry about the cut and paste but big thanks to all the CO's. TFTC.
Coffee stop after some good climbing which just goes on and on. Thanks for the cache drawp
Beautiful church nearby, I would have liked to stay and admire it for longer, but the yappy dog living there alerted the entire neighborhood of our presence. TFTC
I didn't read the cache page properly so I found myself in the church grounds circling the tree and coming to the realisation that this may no longer be a working church when a vehicle in the next property stopped by the exit and the driver said that what I'm looking for is on the outside but that he couldn't tell me anymore. Actually he could have if he wanted to but it was up to me to solve the problem which I quickly did. I think he owned the old church property
Heading to Geraldine for the weekend and on a Mission with BCD to complete the Mighty Oaks series. TFTC
Day 6 - of our epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. With Geofest17 and Danseys Pass signed off, and A2O on Jack and Jill yesterday and still in the land of the living, we are off exploring Oamaru again.
Another in the Mighty Oaks series snagged and tagged. Hey - this church is amazing. There is this hole?? in the roof, but its not, its a mirror which gives a false impression of a window in the eves of this church. The owner came out, talking to us, but he was in the know. Cheers

It is the Wednesday after the Oamaru Geofest, But for Taybeedragon and myself, there is no after, There is only still. Still geofesting, the dragon and I cached Dansey's and the A2O over the last couple of days, and now we are back to fill in some of the gaps.
Another Don. There are a lot of them hereabouts!
Loved the window in the top of the church. At first we thought it was that - so there was a fake roof, but a short walk confirmed the roof is intact, so the window is actually a mirror. I'm pretty impressed with how good the image is - does someone go up there and clean it every now and then?

While stopped to collect the cache and the info required, the owner of God's Old House popped out. Had a good chinwag and they still serve coffee's etc when the sign is out apparently - does a good business with A2O cyclists mainly but sign not out today. Complimented him on the well kept grounds.
Another Mighty Oak. The owner of the beautifully restored church talked for a while and offered us coffee. Of course we still had caches to find so politely declined. TFTH !
I had a nice chat with the chap who owns the lovely church which is now his home. Thanks very much for filling up my water bottle, and I hope the coffee venture goes well. No worries finding the cache. TFTC
What an absolute treasure here. Stunning property carefully restored. The owner of the property came out to make sure we'd found it so we had quite a long chat. He apologised for not inviting us for a coffee - he's put in a machine to cater for the bikers going past his door. A pity because I would have liked a look inside. Maybe next time! A favourite. #3,003: Binge Smiley!
What an adventure we had today! TheWanglers, Team_Gaters, and I headed out at dawn from Christchurch with four goals in mind: 1) Find Many Caches, 2) Get TG to 7,000 finds, 3) get me to 3,000 finds, and 4) Have Fun! Needless to say, all were accomplished in spades. It was only my second 100+ day ever, and had us driving, walking, running, biking, and even crawling to make the finds. We were also able to find at least 7 different cache types, and attend two events, in order to catch up with old friends. Thanks to all the hiders, but most of all, thanks to my partners in crime! We signed all logs as "T8T", sung to the tune of AC/DC "TNT".

I enjoyed learning about the Mighty Oaks whilst trying to solve the puzzles pre Geofest. I found a book in the National Library about them. A quick find while out and about on the Geofest race. Signed FITE. TFTC
Headed out for a Mad Mission with Team_Gaters and 8ManAfter we signed our logs today 'T8T' cos were dynatmite! I grabbed 8Man at 5.30 am and we grabbed TG just before 6am and we were on the road before 6am with the bikes on the back. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We wanted to do as much of the A2O as we could and as many PnGs that we could manage. We stopped by the event first and then we had to stop an grab breakfast at 10am. We grabbed some lunch and headed for the hills. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Scored a delicous dinner in town and headed home. Got home just after 12am knocking out 620km and 115 caches. Good times!
Quick park and grab.
Cache 67 of 115 for this crazy day!
Thanks for the cache drawp.

Our first find on our bike journey from Windsor to Weston. The memorial oaks are very interesting, walked past another two in Windsor.
A long days caching (Mad Mission?) with TheWanglers and 8ManAfter..revelin a bit of the Geofest Event in Oamaru. We signed our logs 'T8T' cos were dynamite...and 'in a hurry'...LOL! Picked up by TW & 8man at 6am...and we had our bikes loaded for a bit of A2O action during the day. The plan was to drive to Oamaru and then attend the events and thrash the caches hard. We stopped by the event first and then we stopped to town to grab some breakfast and a packed lunch and then headed out to hit some trails. Had a great time and worked our way back to town for the CITO at 6pm. Grabbed some tea in town then headed for home. Got home just on 12am knocking out 620km and just over 100 cache finds for each of us. A great day with great company!
Nice one. Cheers.

Out caching today with purdiepurdie, fitting in some CCC before the Geo-Fest.
Finding the complete series of these Memorial Oaks has been an ambition of mine for some years - I don't often get to cache down this way.
Dropped by here to collect the info for the bonus caches - I found #12 nearly 5 years ago- no idea what I did with the data !
Delightful church - I think this was my favourite of the many we saw today.
Thanks, drawp, for this cache & the series. Signed the logs as KP2.

Down with kotukuSI to attend the Oamaru GeoFest. We had a plan to hunt down a few Mighty Oaks today. Such a fantastic reason to place a trail of caches. We managed to get quite a few Oaks today and will complete the balance over the weekend.
Outside the most beautiful Gods Old House Windsor.
Thank goodness we still managed to CCC - Coffee (at Kurow), chat most of the way and cache a goodly number.
It was fortuitous to meet drawp at our second Mighty Oak and could thank him in person for placing this cool trail.

Found while on a weekend leave pass with Karma Reprint, heading up and down the Waitaki Valley with a few bike rides and wanders on the way. A bit later on in the afternoon, the fires are going and no one is outside - perfect caching conditions! Cheers
All quiet at GZ. Quick find and off again. Cheers.
Off on a caching weekend with Kiwi Moose, to the Waitaki and slightly beyond. Great weather, great place to be, great company, and more than a few little plastic boxes.
Thanks to all of the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

We arrived in Oamaru last night with the intention of finding as many of our solved puzzles as we could in the couple of days we had here. Today's target was the Mighty Oaks series, and I do not think we truly understood the distances we would be needing to cover to pick these all up. We had found just a handful of these (3?) a few years ago on a fleeting one day trip from Rakaia to Moeraki and back, and were keen to complete this series.
Most of the caches were easy finds with the hints, and at each one we carefully worked out and recorded the numbers for the Bonus caches, which were our main targets. Thanks for setting up this series. These Mighty Oaks make great memorials for so many local fallen soldiers. We appreciate the way we needed to take note of (and therefore pay our respects to) each soldier's individual name and details as a means to getting the numbers for the puzzle caches.
When we turned up at this cache a man came out and asked us if we were 'finding treasure', commenting that it has been a while since he has seen anyone here. We had a long chat about the memorial tres, and he told us some local history of the trees along here.

Found while enjoying a sunny day in North Otago caching with Miss EU and drawp. Great cycle trails, made for some fun caching. TFTC
This morning started out with CITO in Dunedin and then headed up to the Oamaru CITO with Eve07. Great fun day out with good haul of caches and rubbish
A big day attending two CETOs. While traveling up to Oamaru for a road trip Natalie247 and I decided to tick a few caches along the way. TFTC
After finally meeting the Co at a nearby event it would have been rude not to grab this one tftc
Riding more of the A 2 O Cycle Trail seeking out caches. Today, being the second of three planned days on the trail. Today's ride is from Peaks Road to Weston. The day started by driving up to Peaks Rd via Tunnel Road and signing off the Off The Track Tunnel series. This was the 21st of 52 caches found. My thanks to the CO's for placing all the caches.
A big weekend of caching with Rincewind3 (hubby), NZGecko (daughter) and our friend, Bo&bronnie. I'll let Rincewind3's logs do the talking

Stayed with friends near here for the weekend but still plenty of time for caching

Wasn't paying enough attention so just pulled up at the first cross/oak tree I saw. Jumped out and couldn't find a container. Looked at the receiver and it's saying a little further on. Looked up and sure enough, there's another tree/cross a bit further on. Got to it and had a feel for the cache. Nothing. Looked at receiver and it's saying a bit further yet. Sure enough, ANOTHER cross/tree further on. Third time lucky. TFTC.
Muggles out watering the garden and yappy dog on the other side of the hedge made this one slightly more difficult to retrieve but the gardening muggle didn't seem interested in why we were photographing the cross. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Another mighty oak in the series but this one was a bit more difficult with a noisy, little dog poking his nose through the hedge. Needless to say the find was made quickly, the log signed and replaced even more quickly. Found with Woody104 and debsnz
Had to dodge the happy dog on the other side of the hedge, while it was doing that Debs made the find.
Found with DebsNZ and Aoraki Sheep.

Gods old house is now an accommodation! Interesting. As the weather was beautiful, there were lots of muggles around at the old church ground. So it was a bit tricky to retrieve and hide the cache but no problems. After a brief nice chat with one of the muggles, we drove off to the next cache just around the corner. TFTC
A quick easy find, along with a greeting from little white dog from God’s Old House. TFTC
I decided to follow the mighty oaks today and see where they lead me. It was a nice drive around the country side and an enjoyable series. This one was found out of order but seemed worth the early detour. Beautiful old buildings and worth a favourite from me.
Thanks drawp for the cache.
