out with agazo again today, someone rode passed and yelled you must be cachers, i yelled back whats your id, he says drawp, he came back and we had a nice chat, you don't often see the local COs in the wild, they tend to hide, nice meeting this one, tftc
Nufrat spotted the cache, but couldn't reach it, so she got me to do the honors. While I was busy, who cycled by but drawp. It was really nice to meet him in the 'wild'. TFTC.
Arrived in Oamaru for one night stay. After setting up camp, having lunch and reading the ODT it was time to go sign off a few caches. I had intended to revisit Holmes Wharf but when I spied the crowds I decided to seek caches out west. Another quick P&G out west. TFTC Bitsprayer
After spending most of the day in the saddle on the A2O it was time for some drive by caching.
Photos used to be so slow. Anything but simple txt took forever. And then along came video files and the rest is history.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a coolish winters day caching in and around Oamaru during our Queens Birthday trip south.
A short detour up this road to grab this cache. I can remember the days of slow baud rates - in fact 1200 sounds a lot faster than some I have endured back in the day . TFTC.

#21328. 1200 baud .... luxury! I remember using a 300 baud modem (it was painfully slow). Nice way to remember this piece of technology. TFTC.
On our way south. Called by with Nosynel. Good size so left a tb to continue its travels. Thanks.

We drove to Oamaru with Jude_E last night and are heading to Dunedin tonight. Today's plan is to spend a little time in the Port Charmers area.
Thanks for hiding this cache Bitsprayer I appreciate it.

Time to head home but not before grabbing a few more caches in and around Oamaru. Quick find here in the dark! Maybe just one or two more... TFTC Bitsprayer
Easter break and it’s time to catch up on the year to date coins. Got some out west and headed into Oamaru for lunch. Then back to Weston.
Love it! I used to have a modem with this transmission rate!

Out with busy paws and done cycling and now thankfully driving. We have signed the logs CC3BP. Thanks for this cache Bitsprayer.
Apologies for the copy and paste logs. Out with Coconuts3 on a very pleasant day out along the trails in the inland Oamaru area. Logs signed CC3BP in most cases. TFTC
Fun day driving, walking and cycling in a fresh caching patch in North Otago. Weather was perfect. Done these on foot with Geo dog.
Nice easy find out and about collecting smileys and this one qualified me for the final souvenir for this round TFTC mr bitsprayer
TFTC doing the mystery at the museum challenge and this was a cache I needed. Cheers
Came down to Oamaru to finish off a few on the A2O. A bit of spare time afterwards so ducked around on the back road to find a few more. TFTC.
A planned geocaching trip with specific targets in mind.
1: The final 2 caches to fill my D/T grid
2: The last 5 caches available (all in the South Island) to meet the NZ Jasmer challenge GC4R9Z6
3: Get as many caches as possible in a day (Solo)
I had no timetable and only a vague route (Christchurch - Dunedin- Invercargill). So after 20 days of sleeping in my tent/car I arrived home having traveled 4500km and visited some interesting places. Met some great people. I had found over 650 caches. That was a lot of park. Jump out out. Find cache sign and return. Then on to the next. All this done by myself. Also attended an event and had 2 FTF
Mission 1 and 2 were achieved and I had a best day of 153 caches. All this done by myself.
Day 14 Herbert Forrest to Waitaki 51 caches found today. Missions completed by now so caching my way back up the island. Quiet here today. Cache all good.Thank you for the placement

I had moved my snail shell down the Waitaki Valley to Awamoko for a few days. Today I needed at least 6 caches for my personal challenge of having all the days on my calendar at the same shade of green or darker.
I decided I would drive to todays planned caches instead of biking to them as I might have got a bit damp.
Cheers for the cache.

Spending the day to see how well a phone does compared with a Garmin. They complement each other well. The Garmin certainly has the battery life.
Went for a 12km walk this morning, as staying in Enfield for a couple nights with friends. Had no intentions of caching, but thought if any were around here as out walking? Had no pen, thought about drawing blood, lost enough due to caching in the last few days though. Took a pic though.
Caching with our NZ friends signing as trans tasman team TTT. Having a ball traversing the area and getting lots of caches. Tftc
thanks for the placement, we have been loved travelling and visiting the roads of oamaru and the many caches each CO has taken the time to place, thank you for taking the time to place and maintain them.
Great day geocaching with TTT - the Trans Tasman Team! Really having fun at the Geofest !Thanks.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Our journey to the bottom of the South Island has been almost two years in the planning. We were determined to make it to Oamaru Geofest. We decided to also factor in completing a couple of missions (JASMER and Virtual challenges), and the wheels started turning...
Day Five: Oamaru Geofest
The afternoon was dedicated to walking sections of the A2O trail. We found it more effective to park strategically and walk between finds. We got to see a lot more of the countryside in this way, and we met some colourful characters too... The majority of caches were quick finds and in good condition... TFTC.

Having a fine caching time while attending the Oamaru Geofest.
Found a section of A2O puzzle caches so now time for a few park and grabs.

Found whilst out on the oamaru geofest trail grabbing a few caches along the way cheers
Mr and Mrs EU in the truck today out enjoying countryside caching - so much better than city caching! Enjoyed the story behind the cache. TFTC
The second day of the Oamaru leg of our "Road to 6000" Challenge - and back on the bikes to pick up some caches along the Alps to Ocean bike trail.
A quick find.

Found while taking the Waitaki Girls geocaching club around some local caches, TFTC
really pleased to log a find after 3 DNF's in a row. That made 12 for the day and I can't remember ever having that many in a day before. Hopefully its the last. TFTC #8850
day 2 of another week working near oamaru so time to get out and grab a few more caches after work in the dark of course. hitting the back roads on my way back home for the night nice quick find tftc
The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
After lunch the plan was to head inland from here and grab a few A20 and other caches then head to Dunners to find our home and get dinner sorted. Quick find on the trail as we could see the cache from the truck.
Thanks for the cache.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Aaaaaah. We thought we spied an awesome camouflaged cache form the wagon as we pulled up...sadly no...but we found the cache nearby! Cheers.

Heading back to SH1 now. Some great views from the roads around here.
Canterbury show weekend and time for our annual road trip to some place with plenty of boxes to find. One player short this year as PurdiePurdie got a better offer over the Tasman, (no not another MEGA).
TheWanglers, Team Gaters and I took off at 4:45am for Dunedin for a weekend of fun frivolity and finds. The plan was to get as many as we could, while still having a good old time, which we managed in abundance. Logs were generally signed kaTT, which actually should read ka pai, but I can not seem to get pi as a symbol.
A great time was had by all.
Thanks to all the CO's for their hides.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #164 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the one hundred and sixty fifth on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great sceanery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
Enjoyed exploring this area. Thanks for showing us the sights

Spent the morning running around the trails and countryside as a brief aside on our trip to Dunedin. Parking a problem in places and grabbed two caches at a time in many places from one parking spot. Most caches easy finds. Thanks for the trails and side caches and please excuse the cut paste log.
Found with Chosen1978 on a great day caching in the area. Loved the location.
You lost me when you started talking about bauds and BBS sites, thankfully I didn't get lost finding this cache. TFTC

Hubby has worked in this exchange (often) and still does occasionally - yes is a working telephone exchange. How many times has he been here and not realized there was a cache here? Left TB. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
Pulled in for a quick find and anoint the sunscreen as the temperatures rise. Found with debsnz
I guess this was the telephone exchange of a bygone era. Found the cache, signed the log and moved on.
Just starting to get light, but still need the headlamp to look under bushes.
