We ran down from Emden's picnic grounds for this cache, quite a decent little run though the return was harder due to the uphill and the strong breeze.
The cache log was quite soaked so we dried out everything as best we could but I imagine the split in the lid will let moisture seep in even when inverted. Finding the cache was a bit of a bonus as the rail trail was supposed to be controlled burned over the weekend.
Thanks for the great load of caches, we appreciate the effort that went into making this series.

Another morning walk for a couple of smiley faces along this part of the HCRT. Caches are all good. Some were expossed but have now been re-hidden and out of plain sight. TFTC's -"the trail Crew"
Travelling around Australia, waiting out the Easter rush at Lake Hume with Smokie5054.
With a traumatic day of yesterday behind us. Today Mrs Felix dropped Mr Felix and Mr Smokie up at the Army Cinema to ride back to camp at Huon Reserve.
Long, casual day riding, in perfect weather and great company arriving home just in time for happy hour...... perfect day.
PU TB here.

A long weekend and another trip with the geo 'rents and geobro'. What a cool way to spend Easter
Headed for Albury for 2 nights and then Bendigo for 1 night and we took each day as the caches came. A turn here, a turn there, a dirt track here and there and miles and miles of bitumen [^]
LOL, I've just seen one of geobro's cache logs and it reads very much like mine
Although he forgot to mention that he not so kindly shared his viral germs with geomum and I! [xx(]
Today (day 2) I found 76 caches and had 4 DNFs
We did note that it was a shame that so many of the log books were either full or in a sad state.
I'm sorry but I didn't have spare logs with me to have been able to refresh them.
Without our pushbikes and not having a horse, we were left doing these caches on Shank's Pony
We managed to find a few of this series in this pretty area with great views before geobro decided that he was starving and he neded food ....one day he will learn to bring snacks with him
So we left the rest and headed off to find breakfast and lunch
Most of these were easy finds with just a few sneaky, tricky cache hides thrown in and they all added to the enjoyment of our day

We're off on a four day geofamily (Geodad: moneydork, Geomum:Tounga, Geosis: locus cache and geobro: ME) road trip adventure heading to Albury and Bendigo. A lot of miles were covered, many sights seen, lots of laughs, mirth and merriment during the trip. Oh, we found a few caches along the way as well.
Another find on the HCRT. Dropping Roving Roy TB to start travels in fresh hands.
Thanks for the cache The Trail Crew.

Locuscache, Sushilord, Mrs Dork (Tounga) and I decided to explore Victoria and during the Easter long weekend.
We enjoyed visiting Lake Hume but only didn't a few of the series as we were caching by car rather than by bicycle. We intend to return and complete the series, ideally by bicycle sometime in the future, TFTC.

TFTC. The weather was overcast and pleasant for a bike ride / cache run from Huon Reserve. Had only planned a trip to Ludlow but got carried away. I cached to Ludlow then road to Bonegilla and then cached on the way back. Unless noted all caches were pretty straightforward finds and in good order. GPS coordinates were all spot on.
The lid of the cache has a split in it and log was damp.

#1776 Today being a rare cooler day we brushed the cobwebs off the geobikes and hit the rail trail starting at Bandiana and turning around at Huon doing every second cache along the way. In total we racked up about 44kms and 51 caches and hopefully rode off some Christmas pudding.
This was the 34th find. Tftc and series Trail Crew.

[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: The container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,

Our final day enjoying the local sunshine and bike riding. Today our friends did a car shuffle so we only rode one way, finishing at Huon after enjoying a couple of hours caching. Our thanks for placing this series.
Found on our journey back from the Mega in Stanthorpe. We hoped to avoid some nasty weather and put a dent in the HCRT series even if we couldn't complete it this trip.
After we set up camp at Ebden we headed out to make a start. It was a chilly windy afternoon and we only managed a few kilometers on the bikes before it was time to head home for a warming glass of red.

Came down from the Gold Coast to especially do this great series, it was a great riding track and quite scenic and all caches were great to find and all in good order. Found with Bluewattle and TFTC
A few more caches found along this fantastic trail, I am glad I bought a mountain bike but my rear end isn't liking it!! Thanks for the cache The Trail Crew
I had recently purchsed a new bike so this trail was going to be its test today as I set off from Bandiana with this series in mind. In the end I went as far as the other side of Sandy Creek bridge and had a ball. I think I found 61 caches in this series without a DNF plus a few other assorted caches on the way. I moved my car along to some of the reserves to save a long ride back and that plan worked perfectly. The caches are in great order after all this time. No reptiles were found apart from the ones you are aware of .
Another quick find as I journey on south.
Thanks trail crew for this series and I will have to return to do the remaining 45 another day..

Down to Albury for less than happy reasons, but today I had spare time and really really needed to 'clear my head'. Now, normally I am not a huge fan of powertrails, but I wanted some numbers for a goal, I needed the exercise, and the Sandy Creek bridge looked cool - and the day turned out to be overcast and not too hot for most of my walk. Perfect. So I walked 25kms. Picked up 55 s and actually enjoyed myself. Interesting placements, great containers, a couple of DNFs (you get that), and the views ... oh wow the views. Spectacular. I can highly recommend this trail (and have already back home). Top stuff.
Mooo. I didn't see any wild life really - tail end of a skink, a couple of birds - some rubbery reptiles - plus a couple dogs, a goat, a few horses and a lot of cows. Lots and lots of cows.
Thanks for placing this cache, The Trail Crew. Found in good condition.

Headed to Albury this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild and specimenX.
Today was the day to attack the HCRT trail, not starting out as early as we should have this was going to be interesting to see if we would actually completely finish it. SpecimenX and myself on the bikes and Rapidlywild in the geomobile.
This trail was indeed a lovely ride with some great company and chatter to take our minds off some slight inclines along the way but we were also rewarded with some really stunning views.
The torches have now been deployed to travel by and search for the caches.
Another one ticked off on our journey, logging duties performed and then on our way again.

Well the weekend was upon us and the planned Geomission with specimenX and FurfacesLL in Albury/Wodonga was here
We had been planning this weekend for sometime now and had been busy solving puzzles in preparation for the weekend. We spent the weekend doing the HCRT trail, some of the HSS series and some surrounding areas.
Officially day 1 of the attack on Albury/Wodonga area. Today we had plans to attack the HCRT Trail via pushbike and collect some random ones along the way also.
FurfacesLL and specimenX went off on the pushies while I went off in the geomobile to meet them at certain locations and continue the trail on foot. Logging duties completed and on we went.

Since the weather was so good this weekend we decided to tackle a North East Rail trail.
The varieties of hides along here made for a really interesting ride and the sunny weather was great too.

Headed down the really long thin black line this time to Victoria to try to finish off the HCRT Series. And attempt another couple of series in Northern Victoria. Spectacular views and a great cycle ride Will award a favourite just for the Location. Great cache. TFTC
Found with pprass and Team Pathfinder on a lovely cool day for cycling on the Rail Trail. This is necessarily a generic log but I will endavour to make individual comments also.
Found at 10:48 AM GAFF1 in the company of Alansee and Ian from Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder.
We finally woke up to a beautiful day, which meant that our plan that we hatched the previous night around the camp fire at Richo's of finishing off this series after nearly a 13 month gap was on!
It really was a beautiful day - still and clear as a bell which highlighted the beautiful valley in its autumn colours.
Thanks The Trail Crew.
ps: We signed the log books as Team APIS

We met up with Pprass and Alansee at Richardson Bend to spend a couple of days camping on the Murray River. After a rainy day on Saturday the sun was shining on Sunday so it was decided that a cycle on the HCRT was in order. We found 75 caches and enjoyed some beautiful scenery. A wonderful trail the likes of which we don't have in Western Australia.
Thanks for setting up these caches.

Easy find as all the camo had been blown off. Fixed it up and returned it. The views are certainly fantastic today, as is the weather. Thanks
I joined forces with J+J.au and Wilbert67 to make our mark on the caches in this area. This was a great excuse to get on the bikes and enjoy this well configured series. Over the four day weekend we found some great caches showing us some fantastic locations and others challenging our geocaching skills. Thanks to all the cache owners for making this a great trip and thanks to my off-siders for the company. SL.. TFTC
Enjoying 4 days of caching out this way with Baja15 and Wilbert, we have had this HCRT trail in mind to do. out of the series we DNF 1 and found all the rest except the the disabled caches.
I enjoyed the variety of hides and the themes on some were a bit spooky, the views along the way is beautiful.
This is a very well put together series, highly recommend. TFTC

Had a great day on the bike today, together with J+J.AU and Baja15.Although the weather got quit warm later on and we might have suffered a bit of sunburnt, the fun was healing all the wounds! Loved the variety in caches and hides together with the joy of riding a bike.Lots of thanks to the organisers of this trail.

we attempted to finish the trail today we took two cars and broke the trail down in sections to break up some walking but unfortunately it was getting dark and the rain scared us away but we had a good adventure with plenty of good hides some easy some tricky and plenty of good views of the weir and surrounding areas. With every cache we attempted we found although one could not be logged as there was no way I was going to retrieve it im not one for heights and creepy crawlies but anyway thanks to the trail crew we had a very good day.

A bit late writing up some of these logs and as I have already placed Crazy Cow elsewhere, she doesn't come up here, even though she did visit with me.
Having read Hint I of course went to the wrong tree, and my trusty navigator (Little Red Riding Hood, must have been spooked by something as she too took me in completely the wrong direction at first!) At last I found the cache - really quite easy once I was in the general GZ. Reminded me of our load em up back home, so gets a fav from me. TNLN SL TFTC

Hot day today, great enjoyed on the trail easy one along to end in the line... Easy to find as very well hide thanks
Really on fire today. Looking in the wrong spot. A really obvious geotrail led us to the correct location. TFTC SL
Day four of our post Christmas / pre New Year trip... taking our new tent trailer for a test run, weather was very hot and humid. Our travels are taking us up to Ettamogah and across to Old Tallangatta before returning home.
Visiting many towns along the way, taking the Geo wife to places she has never been before, and giving our Geo Pug time to sniff out new territories
Did not expect to be seeing constant temps in the high 30's to low 40's... Geo wife got to see her first live black snake on the road in Australia, and I almost stood on a 5 foot brown snake at one cache on the HCRT, and a red back spider at another.
Stayed at some nice FREE camp sites along the way and a couple of caravan parks as well, learned a lot of things along the way, history and more, but in all a great adventure and we were able to clock up our 1000th find along the way ..
thanks to the CO for this cache

its so helpful when the cache names locate the stopping zone, not having anywhere handy t keep the gps in view means trying to estimate distances or stopping frequently to check. we have decided that given the heat and the passing hours that if we miss a cache we'll just skip it as we don't have time to turn around.

I mentioned to some Caching friends my love of caching on my pushbike and asked if they knew of any good trails as I would be without my kids for a week between Christmas and New Year. Code1 put me onto the HCRT and a quick look and the trip was planned. I checked the internet and it seemed camping was available at Ebden reserve right on the trail. When I arrived this was not so! (don’t believe everything you see on the internet!) So I had to settle for a paid campsite at the Boathaven Caravan Park just up the road. After setting up the tent by 7pm on the 27th Dec I got on the bike and decided to get a few nearby. The first one I found was disabled and I soon realised why when I found only the lid of the container! I had better luck from then on. I did 8 on the 27th , followed by about 50 on the 28th (25k out and 25k back in mid 30’s heat nearly killed me!), and the remainder on the 29th. I found nearly all of them but for a few DNF’s that I may come back for one day.
Thanks to the Trail Crew for all the work that goes into setting up a trail like this …… loved it and will recommend it to all cachers.

#5209 We've had to do quite a bit of calendar caching this month - it seems that we are always otherwise occupied in the lead up to Christmas. Although this day was earmarked for a find we still had other engagements which meant that we nearly forgot to go out and collect a cache for the day. So it was a quick run out to this cache for Dad before he headed back into town for the obligatory touring of the Christmas lights. The cache was found a little exposed but in good condition. Our thanks to the Trail Crew for the cache and series. Cheers [^]
Found 10:20:00 AM, during day two of our assault on the HCRT series, during which we made a round trip (starting and finishing at Bandiana) of about 36km by bike, found 46 caches and saw another snake
TNLN, thanks The Trail Crew.

We had enjoyed our walk along the trail from Old Tallengatta and Tallengatta so much that we decided to make a start on the leg from Tallangatta to Wodonga. Shanks pony was fed and well rested so we were able to make a sizeable impression on this section. Congratulations The Trail Crew for an outstanding series that we will definitely recommend to other cachers. We will endeavour to finish this series either before we leave this trip or on our next visit.
The combination of the hint and accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and it's contents were in good condition.

My humble apologies for the late log...
Travelling from Coffs Harbour to Melbourne with a few night stopover in Wodonga along the way... After living away from home for 6 months, I have managed to find all my caching associated paperwork / notes & photo's so I can (finally) log all my finds...
My sincerest thanks to all the cache owners for their hides & all the effort gone into them & I'm sorry for the generic log... I have seen many beautiful area's that I would not of seen or experience if not for your hides...
Managed to find this one with my geo-family (Happy Feet) as we peddled along part of the Rail Trail (Now I know why I ride bikes with a motor)...

After using the HCRT for many of the caches during our August streak, we were keen to get back and do a few more. After some miserable weather, spring has arrived, so we decided to head out with the kids and have a walk along the trail and grab some caches. We let our daughter find most of them (with some gentle nudges in the right direction), and she had a ball. We managed to beat our personal best for most caches in one day, and didnt have to log any DNFs. A great afternoon out! Thanks for the caches, and apologies for the copy n paste log

Had a great day riding along most of this trail with Lachdog15. Was very quiet on the trail all day, probably because of the predicted rain! Really loved this trail, a lot of effort went into this. We have finally returned after doing the first half a few weeks ago.
