Scrambled all around but couldn't find it. Daylight is dying away in the west. Time for me to head home.
Our first cache on our rainy ride with Rhodie 67 and Rexey41. Quick find on this one. TFTC.
Hi there Gonefishen07.
We found your cache **"Rail Trail-Kilcunda bound"** at 10:06:51 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12616.
After a great evening with Gonefishen07 and Zobo04 we were persuaded to tag along on a night time maintenance run before attempting one of the nearby night caches. Tonight we ended up logging 7 and DNF'd 0.
We spent quite some time searching the bushes here before signing the log in the sneaky replacement container.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where our GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.
(PS: The formatting of this log will look much better when Groundspeak changes over to "Markdown" coding in early February).

A good look turned up nothing, sadly, and the hint didn't help in this situation. Thanks anyway.
After our 5 min time limit we did not find it so we left to continue on towards Wonthaggi .
Find #1788 logged at GZ at 9:26 am. Failed last year but got it now. Simple but effective hide. T4TC Gonefishen07!
I had a good look around for this one while Geoturtle explained our game to a couple of grey nomads. Sadly I came away empty handed, and I haven't worked out the cryptic clue yet. Oh well, I'm sure we will be back one day. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
#778 - Day two of my trip down to the Inverloch for some caching.
The first part of my day today consisted of riding the rail trail from Wonthaggi to Kilcunda picking up as many Rail Trail caches as I could. My weapon of choice was my brothers cycle-cross bike so I could give it a go, with the decision to leave my road and mountain bike at home.
After having a bit of a sleep in to 7am this morning to catch up on some sleep, I quickly had breakfast and headed off to park at Wonthaggi to start the ride.
Between the hours of 08:00-15:00, I was able to get to Kilcunda and back as well as complete 44 of the 50 rail trail caches that I set out to do, (6 DNF's due to not being able to find them and not spend to much time there or due to muggle activity).
I was very impressed with the variety of caches and different cache hides along this part of the Rail Trail. I ended up spending a lot more time looking for caches then riding as quite a few of them were a challenge to find!
Thank you Gonefishen07 for the effort put into these caches, had a really fun ride.

- 3rd for the day. Met back up with crew who had parked the other side of the trestle bridge & walked back to meet me. It was a fair hike from the previous cache (car park to café was 2.72 km) but the views were a good distraction in places along the way. The next challenge was to get to the other side of the bridge!
[B)] ... [B)] ... [B)] ... Ok... I'll admit it ... I DON'T LIKE BRIDGES, OR HIGH THINGS !!!!! [B)] ... [B)] ... [B)]
I can do this I thought at the start, step, step, step, oh... gulp, step, nope..., step, omg..., step, Miss3 had already skipped off , should I turn back?, step, step, step, to passing muggles "what am I doing? I don't like bridges!", passing muggle "are you ok?", yeeeeesss ... probably quite unconvincingly, step, keep looking down, oh.. maybe that's worse..., step, blinking hell... I've hardly gone any distance, deep breath..., no - change that to shallower breaths, don't look up, heard son mention something to his crew about me & maybe NOT asking me to take photo's in the middle (thank god for that!), hmmm... ok the bridge is wide I won't fall off if I have to step round the crew to get to the other end ... sheeeeeet! step, step, & quicker step, step, step, aaahhhhh the other side! In a louder voice to son & crew in the middle - "Sorry, couldn't stop to help you with photo's in the middle!" "He said "I figured ... !" They posed in the middle & I used zoom on camera ... didn't get the ocean in the back but ... that's what happens. I did get brave & go part way back but didn't make it back to the middle. Fortunately they did the photoing by taking turns but the not a full group shot. Ok...I'm a wimp! Nooooo, justifiable "I'm out of my depth" response!
Looked too hard for this one! Made it way more complicated that it needed to be. Muggles - of course - but I managed to realise our mistake & make a quick pick up. Don't know what our problem was today but at least we managed to find all that we looked for. Left big youngers looking, in the wrong place as it turned out, while I chatted to Miss3 & MissTiny in her pram while the parade of muggles passed. This time there were surfers added to the mix!
The following comment was still very valid! : Yes still think all the muggles saved their travelling til today! There were cyclists, walkers, cyclists, joggers with dogs, cyclists joggers without dogs, cyclists, walkers with dogs, cyclists .. .. ..
Had to do some strategic loitering to get the cache back to it's place but luckily that was accomplished in a 10th of a second. Mutual decision that it was lunch time so off we all went, including dgfb33, to nearby café (with all the other half & hundred weight of touring/holidaying people & nine hundred & forty hundred weight at the next door pub!) for lunch.
Thanks for the cache. Another lovely day for a walk. Wary eye didn't see any snakes at all today!

WOOO HOOO my 500th sign!!!!

Just realised I managed the bridges yesterday without any sort of trepidation. Hmmm, was it that they were lower, I had been on them before, they weren't scary, travelling companion yesterday can have more issues with bridges that me? ... don't know the answer to that one! hahahaha!

Bottom of tin has rusted through and pushed up, will probably require new cache container
Second find for the day, found a ciggie lighter when looking for this cache, but turns out gz was about 3-4 meters to the side of it. Thanks for the cache
Found whilst passing through the area for work. Enjoyed the walk to this one and across the bridge. Tftc
while cycling with friends in this beautiful country,I manage to do some geocaching, tftc
TFTC! Have had a lovely morning walking along the rail trail and finding some caches!
Enjoyed walking this part of the Rail Trail. We did get spotted coming out of the bush but by the grin, pretty sure they were geo-cachers.
We were staying in Korumburra for a couple of days with The Drovers with the main gaol of completing this rail trail and also hopefully picking up a few challenge caches.
Today started off windy and rainy but at least the rain held off long enough for us to do the first leg. On the plus side there were no muggles to worry about as we only passed one other person on the entire track.
We had a fantastic time finding some unusual containers and with only one DNF we can say what a ball we had today.
Many thanks Gonefishen07 for not only the trail but for all the work and effort that you have put into the hides.
We apologise for the generic log but are leaving a favourite point on each one to show our appreciation.

Met up with Team Crackers for 2 days, to tackle the Rail Trail and a few local caches.
With the threat of rain, we headed out on the bikes.
We found a good variety of hides, with the odd one being a little tricky.
This is a fantastic trail, and we award each one a favourite point.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Gonefishen07, for us and others to find.

Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat, today Mr Felix headed out on the GeoBike to tackle some more of the rail trail.
Knowing that some of these micro's were to be evil not a lot of hope was held for a numbers run today.
Happy New Year! Well seems every muggle from here to Melbourne was out walking or riding the rail trail today. . It was a struggle but somebody had to do it. .
Beautiful day and the rain held off. An amazing series you have created here. So much hard work and effort has gone into constructing then of course to maintain too. Great work. After contacting the CO a replacement cache has been placed here to assist the CO.
TFTC Looking forward to meeting other geocachers at the next Australian Geocaching Mega event

Too many muggles around, hard to search. Some signs of recent track vegetation maintenance too. Didn't find.
Found it. Magnificent sunset (as usual) meant trail a bit quieter than normal. Quick find. Tftc.
Couldn't find it last time. Found it in a flash this time. Paper bit damp, resealed baggie properly.
Didn't climb down because we found it quickly ( and because the clue said don't!) TFTC
Found! This was a tough find. After the CO checked on it I thought it has to be here. Scratching and finally, found it!
The day started for me at 7:25am & I finished at 5:29pm in Wonthaggi. I had the most enjoyable time seeing plenty along the way & enjoyed the variety of cache hides & containers. A brilliant effort and I thank the CO for the most enjoyable day out!

First one we looked for, couldn't find so thought we'd have a look on the way back once we'd got into our caching groove but alas twas not to be. Never mind have to try again next time
Had two goes at finding this one today but alas our searches were fruitless. Never mind - good excuse to have to come back - yay!!
We were fortunate today to strike a day that had sunshine and a cooling breeze. We ventured along this well formed track with LazzaL and pet dog Lillie taking in the rural view to the wonderful coastline and making bee-lines for the creative caches. We would read about the next cache on the way and try and guess what item had been used to individualize and create a sense of fun in each hide. We loved it and enjoyed finding this cache. Thanks to Gonefishen07 for the enormous effort that has been put in to enhance of enjoyment of this caching experience.
A big day out on the rail trail today with fellow cachers Liz and Bruce and we managed to find a total of 79 well hidden and thoughtout caches. There was quite a variety of cache containers/hides, often the name of the cache giving a clue as to what to look for. Thanks to Gonefishen07 for hiding this cache.
Seventh find for today. 12:55pm. Went for this one while waiting for Muggles to clear around kids playground. Worse when I got back there.
Suscoe's 20th (and last on the rail trail) find of 25 for today both here and on the island.
A slow find on the way back to Killy along the coast as Mr. S wasn't looking in the right spot carefully enough until Mrs. S took over and located the cache, a terrific view as suscoe cycled along.
Beaut sunshine and a cool breeze.
Log signed and our the trail again.
Thanks to Gonefishen07 for placing this cache.
You just wouldn't be dead for quids today as it was such a delightful day.
Thanks for this series, we have really enjoyed the last few days ticking off caches from Woolamai to here.
We will be back to head to Wonthaggi and deal with more of these caches.
A favourite point for the fun we have had.

Found on our "Making Memories" Tour of Mainland Australia.
Today we explored San Remo and surrounds using geocaching as our guide.
We found a total of 70 caches and this was one of them. Our 53rd cache of the day.
As we progressed along the trail we were impressed by the variety of hides and the creative use of containers. Some we found quickly and others needed a little more investigation before they revealed themselves.
Thanks Gonefishen07 for taking the time to place and maintain these caches for our enjoyment. We really appreciate the effort gone into these creative and inventive hides. A great days caching and one we will remember.

This one took us a while to find. After 10 minutes of searching we were about to call it and move on to the next but one last look under resulted in a find. TFTC
#380 TFTC… after the last two eluded us we were beginning to think they'd all been muggled, but then this one was a quick find
Out for a last minute rush before Christmas, cache grab that is. Found 51 of 52 for the day and had a ball, great hides, reminisced about camping at the Mouth Of The Powlett and on the bluff at Kilcunda as a kid about 45 years ago and got some exercise. Biked a fair bit with some walking and some drive byes mostly driven by flat iPhone batteries needing a charge every now and then.
Nice container, quick find.
Thanks for the cache Gonefishen07

While on a solo six-day bicycle geo-tour around West and South Gippsland. I started by taking the train out to Crib Point, and then catching the ferry across to Cowes on Phillip Island. From there I stealth camped near BBQ shelters and dropped in on friends as I rode to San Remo, Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Fish Creek, Leongatha, Mirboo North, Mt Worth and Yarragon. This route took me along most of the Bass Coast Rail Trail and the Great Southern Rail Trail. I caught the train back to the city.
I'd done the northeast leg of the Bass Coast Rail Trail the day before, and camped near Bass Bridge overnight. Today I headed towards Wonthaggi.
This is the densest and longest power trail that I have done to date. Barely was I settled on my bike, which was loaded with gear, before I'd be bearing down on the next GZ. I had my Garmin attached to my handlebar and it led me along easily and faultlessly. This was the first power trail where I wrote a note about each cache because it would be several days before logging online and it is difficult to recall them.
Really enjoyed the different camos and containers. But this one eluded me.
T4TC Gonefishen07!

Found 12:23:00 PM, during our epic Anderson (and beyond) to Wanthaggi, rail trail adventure, which involved a distance of 51.36 km, ten hours twenty five and a half minutes in and out of the saddle [xx(] and 103 cache finds It also gave BB#2 an ideal arena in which to test her new 29'er
Our first find after a short break for lunch
TNLN, thanks Gonefishen07.

Day 3 of wilco and red tag's Moto GP tour of Melbourne.
After completing the Woodlands 100 series near Tullamarine on day 1 and 2 we turned our attention to the rail trail series today. Most caches were found without too much trouble, but one or two were a little difficult. There was the occasional clever hide along the way too to keep us guessing. The weather was pleasant (sunny and low 20s), but slighly careless sunscreen application meant that I ended the day rather pink in some areas.
DNF this cache.

Found while walking along the rail trail first from Anderson to Woolamai. I started at 6.30pm at Anderson just to grab a few Caches, but before I knew it it was 10.30pm and I had reached the end of the line at Woolamai and then had to walk up hill back to the roundabout. The walk back only took an hour.
I Returned from Melbourne the next day to Wonthaggi to continue the series. Starting at the information centre around 11.00am and reaching the State Coal Mine about 1.30pm returning to Wonthaggi just after 2.00pm and then home to Melbourne.
A week after first starting the series I started my attack from Kilcunda at 7.00pm walking towards Anderson and returning to Kilcunda around 11.30pm. I then continued walking from Kilcunda towards Wonthaggi. After crossing the trestle bridge at Kilcunda I made it as far as Mouth of Powlett Rd before returning to Kilcunda before 1.00am.
I then drove back to the information centre at Wonthaggi at continued walking back towards Kilcunda. I only made it as far as South Dudley Rd before 2.00am. then I thought it best to return to the car and to a caravan park that was booked earlier.
The next morning I continued the hunt from South Dudley rd at 8.00am walking to Mouth of Powlett Rd by 11.45am returning to the car at South Dudley Rd at 1.30pm having completed the rail trail in both direction and walking approximately 55km.
I would now like to take the time to thank “Gonefishen07” very much for the effort put into this fantastic series of Caches also the wide and varying types of Cache containers and great camouflage.
There was Lots of great hides which were good and easy finds as well as a few that had me searching for a while due to some very sneaky and clever ideas.
Most co-ords were very good which was very much appreciated because I often said to myself trust the GPS and then would find the cache bang on the co-ords.
I have also decided the hides are much easier to find during the day rather than at some ungodly hour of the night via torch light, though the trade off is I did not see a single Muggle at night yet the sections completed during the day I had to be careful due to lots of Muggles and their 4 legged friends.
I hope to return to pickup the few DNF’s soon although agreeing with some previouse logs some of the DNF’s I suspect have been Muggled or removed by recent works at the Cache locations.
Again thanks to “Gonefishen07” for a great series

Nice quick one. I love the variety of caches on the rail trail. Taking my time doing them to prolong the pleasure. TFTH
Our first attempt at doing the bass coast rail trail, the weather looked promising, and we wanted to see how many / how far we could get into this trail.
Team Vacachin would like to take this time to say thank you to Gonefishen07 in creating this cache run.

love the variety of camouflage on the caches... very inventive.

Today was our second on the Bass Coast. After overnight rain, the clouds started to lift this morning and bright blue skies were enjoyed from mid morning. This was ideal for caching. Our main focus today was to hunt for as many Rail Trail caches as we could in the day. This cache took some finding. After initially failing to find the cache, we rturned about 15 minutes later for a second effort. This time we were successful - and the coordinates were "spot on". The cache and its contents were in good condition. TFTC Gonefisgen07.
Our second day of riding on the trail the name of this cache had us worried about how far we'd travelled again! This find was actually highly amusing, divine luck played a hand as two of us were gently shaking a bush when the cache seemed to drop our of nowhere! TFTC Gonefishen07
Must've been us, as we looked on both levels here, and under everything we thought might hold a cache, but no luck. Glad to see Vernzed found it on the day
Lots of peeps out on a lovely Sunday afternoon...walkers, runners, bikers, and yes - cachers.
