Me and he geodad arrived pretty early in the scene claiming the FTF Wink We also came early that morning to claim the FTF on Toriaz's cache nearby. Then proceeded on to glenbrook and then back to the event.

Great to start early with the recording of trackables and GCA moveables. Some were so big i'm not sure what we'd do with them. Also pretty good to meet some newbie cachers and some more of the established ones. Still mostly new faces Razz.

These events are always pretty good, maybe we'll get around to having one, some day.

TFTE Webby and wish you luck fixing TRIVIEW I Cool

I had never been to an event cache before so decided it was time to meet a few other cachers. Since it was quite local for me it was ideal. I had a lovely time and got to put a few faces to names. It was nice chatting to others who enjoy caching. I even got a few hints for some caches I have had trouble locating. Thanks Team Webguy for all the effort to set this event up. It was a great day.

14-Oct-12
The weather was fantastic after the events of the past few days.

Great to see so many old (well known) faces and many new ones as well.

Thank you Webguy to putting on another great event and going to so much trouble in providing shelter, shade and good company!!Big Grin

It was such a good Spring day today (unlike a few days ago when it snowed in the mountains) that I dragged the bike out and rode to the event. It seemed like two events today. A lot of the familiar faces were there early on and I saw a lot of new cachers arrive later, although by that time I was in conversations and really only got to meet one or two new people.

Good to see Riblit make a foray into the world again. He had a big stick which he used to keep us under control. Thanks Webby, once again.

I awoke this morning to the dulcet tones of my alarm at 7, then went back to sleep til nearly 8, so much to still get ready, especially in regards to getting all the bits to put the shade up.

The morning was crisp, and perfectly blue skies, well, until we started to head towards the mountains, then there were plenty of clouds heading this way, so, I figured mountain cachers were descending down from on high and bringing their interesting mountains weather with them.

Was going to do maintenance on TriView I on the way, but saved that for after the event, did not need to turn up after VDERHVDTR on my BETFRH while JGERTUBRGH and look worse than usual.

Arrived a bit before 10 and nobody, weird, usually we get beaten to our events by at least somebody.

We started to erect the shelter when people started to arrive. I was then told about the new cache that I had almost walked past to get here today, I'll get to it a bit later. The shade was a big help I think.

The usual faces started to appear, a few regulars were missing, but the event did bring a rather large percentage of brand new cachers out, from all over the region as well. This is one of the main reasons we put events on, so new people can meet other obsessive, compulsive, oh, hang on, that is a different group, meet nice people who hunt for treasure.

It made my day to meet so many new people, some just starting out, some with a few finds under their belt etc.

Plenty of trackables were on display as well as other caching related bits n pieces, and I am not talking about Bikerbuddies Lycra....

Much chatting, discussing and waving of large sticks was done, we even ate stuff.

Not sure what the end total of people was in the end, we never got around to a group hug or photos, but I think we will see the event on once again next year, in what should be the newly renovated park.

Thanks to all for coming, especially the new people, I know it can be a scary thing hoping you are at the right group of nutters, treasure hunters I mean.

Thanks for putting this event on Team Webguy - nice to meet you too. This was my first geocaching event, and although I could only stay for an hour or so it was good to meet a few local legends in this caper and hear what some of the more experienced cachers had to say. Really glad I made the effort to go.

I'll try to get to the Crosslands event in a fortnight too - it's a whole lot closer to where I live!

14-Oct-12
Its been a while since I attended a mountains event and I'm glad a came to this one. It was good to see some new cachers and catch up with older ones.

All in all, a very enjoyable time.

Thanks for putting it on Webby.

#1479- After the terrible cold snap of the past few days, it was great that the Bluies turned on a fantastc bout of sunshiny weather for this inaugaral event. I lost count of people, with the comings and goings, but it was a truly enjoyable day. Thanks Webby for your organistaion and the shelters- I know the adults appreciated them. Great to meet the newbies around the area and catch up with those we know and love! As for the kids, didn't they have a ball- they got on like a house on fire and the play equipment got a work out too. Thanks too to Toriaz for the new cache to add that extra bit of fun on the day. All up, 10plus out of ten from me. Hope to see you all again next year.

Our first event. Thanks webguy!

14-Oct-12
Another perfect day for an event, great to see familiar and new faces. Thank for organising the event Team Webguy

14-Oct-12
A lower mountains Spring day with a first attendance/newbie to a Cacher gathering. Met many more (very) nice than 'obsessive, compulsive' folk ready with good advice given with cheerful enthusiasm. Thank You to Team Webguy for the organisation, the opportunity to gain a clearer understanding of GeoCacheing, and meeting an eclectic 'mob'. Smile

14-Oct-12
A perfect day for an event Smile.

It was great to catch up with old friends again, even if some of them were only able to attend briefly, and to meet so many of the new cachers around our area.

I'm getting swamped with emails tonight, so obviously lots of people noticed my new cache in time to be able to find it today. Riblit has had that one sitting in an auto-publish queue for the past few weeks Smile.

Thanks for organising it webby, everyone had a great time. Somehow I managed to end up with 6 or 7 moveables that I didn't intend to bring home, still don't know quite how that happened [?]

Another perfect day in the Bluies. Enjoyed catching up with some familiar faces and it was nice to meet some newer cachers. I arrived with some gnomey and froggy friends and a stack of trackables. Much chatting was had by all, a new cache to be found nearby. Thanks Webby for the organisation.

14-Oct-12
Thanks so much for the event.
As relatively new geocachers it was good to meet people with a wealth of knowledge and with some experience to pass on to us.
We will certainly be looking out for this again next year.
Thanks again

A top little spot in the lower Blue Mountains, although the absence of a BBQ was almost our undoing (thank you Jonnosan for the loan of your cooker). Many new faces and a few familiar ones. Thank you for putting this event on Webby and co.

Zhaoy had been reminding me lately how I had been promising to take her up the Mountains since she arrived in June and we were yet to get there Razz This event made the perfect excuse to pull the finger out (no pun intended) and show her around one of my favourite parts of the world. We arrived early as we had a big day out planned. Got to to chat to a lot of folks before we ran off for a day of exploring and caching fun Very Happy Cheers Webby.

14-Oct-12
We had to leave our camp at Burralow earlier than planned so we drove over to Lennox park for a very late breakfast and chats with the local caching community.

After filling up on food, we said goodbye and went off to find some caches. The original idea was to find some bad man caches but it was a bit too hit for a firetrail slog do we went down to th blue gum swamp instead, eventually making our way to the trig beyond south Grose head, and collected a handful of finds en route.

Thanks for organizing a fun day web guy.

13-Oct-12
Greetings all, forecast is for the chance of clearing showers, if you have some cover, probably a good idea to bring it as there is not much shade here..

See you in the morning!!

13-Oct-12
I have a new cache placed near the event, it was supposed to have been published at 10pm tonight.

If it still hasn't been published by the time I leave here in the morning, I will hand out the details to anyone interested.

13-Oct-12

Dropping off some long distance travellers.

12-Oct-12
I'll be arriving about 10:30am and will only be able to stay for an hour or so, due to a commitment to another event.

Will have two GCA moveables with me, which I'll leave behind to be found . . .

Please bring Leap Frogs or Gnomes if you have any in your possession!

12-Oct-12
Don't let the reports of lots of snow worry you! There's never any snow south of Lawson and it's supposed to clear up by Saturday morning in any case.

It's been snowing all morning long up here in Leura -- like a 'winter wonderland' in spring!

12-Oct-12
Sorry. I cant attend as I'm on shift and haven't been able to organise a leave pass.

11-Oct-12

Unluckily Anna and me won't be able to make this one, as we are too far away. Well Hornsby isn't really too far, but by the time this starts we will be landing in Christchurch (which is definitely too far) to make our way down to Dunedin for the NZ Mega.

09-Sep-12
Sadly, I'm may be a non attendee to this event. The family has planned a trip on that date to the zoo with my niece and nephew. Sorry I can't attend.

09-Sep-12
Will do my best to attend. It'll be a bit of a drive from the upper mountains but I won't want to miss seeing everyone, since I was overseas during the autumn event.

09-Sep-12
I'll be there, in between my travels.

09-Sep-12
Will do our best to get there.
