1MinnieMoo decided to tackle these now-archived caches. Such a shame the cache owner lost the love for geocaching Sad

This one was a mission - because we had lost phone service. All I knew is where it was approximately due to a printed out map I had. We made our way into the area and then suddenly the phone grabbed just enough service. Oh... 21m away. Not a bad guess Razz

We made our way to GZ and soon found the prize safe and sound. TFTC griz066 Smile

26/1/21 Find #4545
Fangsoki and I were doing the Australia Day rounds heading “a little country” for a day of adventure between Leyburn and Toowoomba. We knew of these recently archived caches, and decided we needed to go on the hunt.
The second along our journey down this road today, I was running completely blind, as I hadn’t loaded these caches onto the phone at all, and now had zero service to do so.
Thankfully, Fangsoki managed to get just enough service that we weren’t working a Mission Impossible situation, and managed a successful find.
Thanks for the cache griz066.

The cache owner has decided Geocaching is not what it used to be. It used to be fun now there are too many tree huggers running around the country side pretending to be cache police, and vandalising caches. I don't want any part of it any more.

Yoiks.... phone reception has got up and gone leaving a black screen with a cache dot and me. A bit like the old days of the GPS. But that was all that was needed, the cache was in a likely looking spot. I might add... MrG's GPS was powering along just fine had the need arose. Wink TFTC griz066.

Tuesday. This is the last day of our return journey after staying at Carnarvon Gorge for the International Earthcache Day. Lovin’ these old cache hides here Razz Lid was not in a happy condition, but the log was all dry so good with this one.

This was the 17th of 25 caches found on today's trip.

Thanks ***griz066***, for showing us this place. Smile

Hi there griz066.

We found your cache **"Not She Oak"** today. (This makes our find count 19523).

Today we cached around Cecil Plains. The secondary aim of the day was to cache along roads we haven't traveled since we became full time grey nomads. Once we've done that we can draw another line on our wall map). Smile

We found 11 caches today (DNF'd 2) .We thoroughly enjoyed our cache raid. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Off for a drive and a picnic for my birthday with Ranibaskale today. We went through Dalby, to Lake Broadwater for lunch, and then continued onwards along some other roads with geocaches yet unfound by us.

There are a lot of spots in this area where a cache could be hidden. I was being harassed incessantly by flies and mosquitos so used my geo-sense (or blind optimism?) and went straight to a spot I thought looked promising and reeeeally hoped was the hide... and it was! Thank goodness... I've donated enough blood today!

Thanks for the cache, griz066! Big Grin

TFTC. We left Kingaroy this morning taking advantage of a nice sunny day to drive to our overnight stopover in Millmerran.we stopped in Cecil Plains to stretch our legs and maybe find a cache or two. On our way out of town we noticed this series. The side of the road was solid enough to hold the weight of the motor home . We did however miss the first two of the series. Never mind , an excuse to come back.

Up early this morning as were are moving on to Texas, and I want to cache but Pa wants to be off the road by midday to avoid the worst of the heat.
Pulled up on the side of the highway and walked across towards the GZ.
I was using Sam (sung) to help me find these caches, as I hadn't told Monty, aka my GPSr, about them. He was quite hopeless at this one and again it was Pa who said, Over here!
Stamped the log - might need reinking as it was a pretty faint green, then returned it to its hidey hole.

Today Youngoldfella, triciac2 and myself teamed up for a one day road trip to find a few of the new geocaches that have appeared since we have been to the various places we travelled to today. Smile
Of course some of us have found some of the geocaches along the way and at other locations others of us had not found the geocaches there. Razz
We travelled about 400km in total. I found about 14 geocaches, youngoldfella a few more and triciac2 a few more again. Big Grin
The container for this cache has had better days. Razz We had a spare container of a similar size in the car so moved the log book and swaps into the new container. Big Grin
Thanks for the cache.

After a great night with friends in Dalby it was time to move south today. We headed towards Milmerran but stopped for several hours in Cecil Plains. Big Grin So glad we did. [^]

We are on a road trip heading to the ACT. We are towing our caravan and are enjoying traversing the back road where quite often there is an opportunity to stop and do a cache without being annoying to any other traffic. We have also based ourselves in Cecil Plains and Warialda and done some of the most enjoyable and creative caches we have ever done. We are so impressed with the standard of these caches. [^][^] Thanks to griz066.

9416 kms travelled in 21 days, one awesome eclipse observed near Mt Carbine in Northern Queensland and 712 cache finds, including a small handle of FTF's.

This was a trip I'd been planning for over 12 months with the main reason being to observe the solar eclipse on the morning of the 14th of November. I had decided to drive to Palm Cove and back, where my penthouse accommodation was located, while the rest of the family flew up and back. I love the drive and the unknown adventures that lay ahead; and I even think the last time I did one this big may have been for the previous eclipse in Australia which occurred over SA.

Apart from the great experiences, awesome scenery, and the characters met, the other reason to drive was to also do some serious caching, with the plan to stop at some power trails along the way including the Fruit Run and A.S. series near Stanthorpe on the way up and the Mid North Coast Wander series, just out of Port Macquarie, on the way back.

I had five days to travel each way with ten days in between spent in Palm Cove holidaying with my family. My route up took me from Melbourne to Tocumwal and up to Glenn Innes, through Toowoomba, Rockhampton and the coast road to Cairns while my route back was a bit more erratic. Heading from Cairns to Townsville then via Charters Towers to Rockhampton. From here it was through the amazing mining region to Roma then across to Dalby down through Stanthorpe (again) to Armidale, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Tocumwal and then home - phew.

Today I made my way from Roma, through Dalby and Millmerran and onto do some more of the A.S. series out of Stanthorpe that had been added; before crashing in the car in a great little spot I found just off the New England Hwy somewhere south of Tenterfield. I was luckily not attacked by any 'jumping cacti' as I made a find of the cache. Thanks griz066.

70km from home.
Another quick find but I couldn’t beat Mrs RF to yet another one.
Grabbed the TB that was in here but left another that I have been carrying all over Oz and I think it might have even had a trip to Indonesia with us.
Took nothing but memories and left nothing but footprints.

Hide, log and container are all in good nick.
Thanks for the cache griz066.

Had a caching plan today to do 11 caches. Left home at 0500 and arrived home at 1700 after driving 645Klms with appropriate rest stops. Total of 7 FTF's on this run. Nanango to Hampton to Brymaroo to Cecil Plains to Inglewood to Warwick to Toowoomba and then home. Mission completed.

FTF.
Quick find at 0915. GPSr took me to a spot and there it was. Good to find one in a normal caching type environment as compared to the previous few I had just conquered. Took trackables. Left key ring.
