During our new years break, jesswrigley and I headed to the Eyre Peninsula to travel around the various coastal towns. We started the trip with Jeep trouble, but then continued in our alternative vehicle without 4WD to stick to the main tourist roads where possible. We travelled south-west to Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln via Whyalla, Cowell, Cleve, Arno Bay; west across to Coffin Bay; and then north-west to Streaky Bay and Ceduna via Elliston, and Venus Bay. We then headed back east staying in Kimba via Poochera, Wudinna, Lock, and Darke Peak.

Today, jesswrigley and I travelled from Port Augusta to Tumby Bay. We made stops in Whyalla and then Cowell for a bakery lunch, and then continued our drive through Cleve, Arno Bay, and Port Neill. The weather had changed from the sunny balmy conditions, to strong wind and gust warnings for the afternoon.

After finding all the nearby caches and having some time after dinner, we decided to have a drive around some of the archived caches that may still be hidden away. We had a quick search at this location, and with only limited spots to hide a cache, despite it (likely) being a nano, we concluded that the cache was no longer here. Thanks anyway YeahRight80 / Tempo 0 for the cache placement.

With more caches to put out I need to reduce the caches I currently have. This cache drew the short straw and will be withdrawn. The cache itself will remain in place for six months so those who have this cache in their GPS's can still find and claim the find. Cheers.

YAY!!! You shalt not defeat me geocache! After a few visits over the past couple of months I can happily, no, VERY happily say that I have found this one!!! Almost did a happy dance in the street!! Woo! What a sneaky hide. I wish never again to have a hide like this, thank you very much!

We had trouble getting this one and actually thought that it had been dislodged and lost. But c-pprass had another look in a very clerfty location and there it was [^]

We found this cache as part of a 4 day trip which went from Adelaide to Sceale Bay returning to Adelaide. The purpose of the trip was to remove Freddo was his home location too near the Clipsal 500 track and for us and Freddo to achieve a difficulty 4 1/2 and terrain 4 cache to make us well rounded cachers. The cache we needed to find was located near Venus Bay and we successfully completed this goal early on Friday morning which left us plenty of time to find "just one more". Loved the scenery and having the opportunity revisit this great area Big GrinBig Grin Thanks to Tempo 0 for placing this cache.

As we approached we thought this one was going to be a predictable find. It was anything but! Between the busy traffic, that seemed to increase as we were there, and the walking muggles we looked literally high and low. We were almost about to give up when the little devil revealed itself. What a sneaky one! TNLNSL Thanks Tempo 0 for the challenge.

Sadly all the caches in Tumby went missing, some twice in as many weeks. I have no choice but to make these caches PMO and hope they stay put this time. This cache was missing again and has been replaced in the same place with a magnetic Nano.

As a kid I used to paddle about up this creek in a little tin canoe or boat of some sort with my cousins which my Grandpa had. It still looks good for adventures even on a windy day like today as the water was sheltered. THanks for bringing me here. Actually, I am gonna give this one a fave point cos it was a fave place many yrs ago Smile

Well what can a fella say? A legend, albeit local, in his own life time. Thanks guys. Again, this was one of several caches explored without using a gps and relying on local knowledge. My great niece, who is staying with us for the weekend, found them all and was absolutely thrilled. She is still young enough to prefer "treasure" in her caches, but old enough just to enjoy the thrill and challenge of the hunt. I supplied "incentives" for each find, from the minor treasure room. She seems to have developed a knack for working out where mini caches are hidden, perhaps by thinking like a hider.
