Headed out today to clear more of the local areas. Despite the rain on and off it was a Pleasent day out side with minimal niggles to get in the way of the finds. TFTH TFTC
TFTC Enjoyed another couple of days off and spent a large amount of time out with Cravo10 helped ini him knock over a bunch of caches round the Leda, Kwinana, Willard and surrounding areas on his journey to 5000 finds!
Despite the rain and intermittent showers, which are pretty much ideal cachin weather as it keeps the muggles away!! We had a good couple of days out collecting lots of smilies. Hopefully more to come !!
Thanks to the local COs for providing a good variety of containers and experiences. Thanks

Found it nice hiding location.
Brings back memories of my days are a Emergency Radio Monitor. (CREST – Citizens Radio Emergency
Service Teams).
There used to be a base setup there for many years before mobile phones came out. The first bunker was setup as a comms room with the radio's etc. I used to drive up to the Kwinana CREST Base to do my Refresher training. Great site and a great Team they has for the Kwinana CREST base team. We operate and monitor emergency CB radio channel 9. UHF channel 5 repeater. Also marine channels.
They were the days when we used our CB radios for communications between each other and used the CREST monitoring bases as the vital link to Emergency services eg. Police/Fire/Ambo's.

Found it easy enough....replacing it was a challenge though LOL. I dropped the lid off the edge, and with my eyes not being what they used to be, it was a bit of time before I located it. Out with magnetic stick hoping it'd magically appear on the end ~ OMG.....lol. Was nearly going to have to admit defeat and email a big sorry to the CO, when, miraculously it appeared for me. TFTC.
Decided to head out this morning and clean up some of the caches in my local area.
Parked up at the second designated parking spot and headed in. A bit of a shady character loutering around the furst carpark.
Some really cool artwork and structured here and a nice solid path leading to GZ. Quick find on the second item searched
Have you logged your WILL ATTEND for WA GOES BIG in 2016 ?
I have and am looking forward to seeing as many of you in Pinjarra on the WA Day long weekend.
Log you will attend at GC5YAGP
firnsy - Kyzabra found your cache Abandoned Radar Station on 16/01/2016, 6:13 AM. This is my find #4748 and find #1 today. The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

Many thanks for a slice of little known Perth history. And a great bush walk! Really enjoyed this one
Originally logged under family name of clan-wallace now slowly transitioning to new name
Do they sell them that colour or have you customised it? I enjoyed the hike & the climb & the history. Thanks Firnsy.
On holidays from Victoria, out for a night walk, took a while to find very small cache with Beth steele.
Took a bit of searching where the gps led us but finally found it! Very clever, well hidden cache. We filled the last entry on the log tftc
Found fairly quickly once I identified the likely object. TFTC and the history lesson.
The log is very full. I could see only one spare space after I had signed.

No luck but another piece of history that I would not have discovered if no for geocaching
On the road with JoshyJayPlay doing a Sunday cache run.....picked up most caches today...tricky hide and glad it was a quick find ...TFTC
Found the little blighter although I got pretty wet from the inclement weather.
Was here about a week ago and for the life of me couldn't spot it. Must have been my day as I managed to spot it within a minute or two of being here. TFTC.
Lovely walk
The minor trail is no longer evident so a bit of bush bashing required
Bring your own pen and aerogard

Out and about on a grand Saturday morning. This was a lovely walk and we loved the abundance of butterfly's and wildflowers as we made our way to GZ. Our GPS had us right at GZ but this sneaky wee cache took a bit of finding. The artwork on the abandoned structures is quite impressive too! A great cache firnsy. Thanks for bringing us here.
The weathers been a bit rough so we decided to have a caching trip not too far from home... The three caches in this area were put on our to-do list! We were amazed that these structures are still here and took some time checking them out before finding the cache

On a walk with geodog, found pretty much right away. Great walk in the Kwinny area. TfTH
Got within 10 meters and phone gps spat it.
Finally found. Not sure I would come here after dark

Nice hide. I knew which item it would be on, but it took a little longer to actually find it. TFTC firnsy
easy find tftc firnsy reminds of when you could 4wd around up there before the gates were put in .
There is so much I have not seen in my local area as I am not originally from Perth. I was absolutely amazed to see these structures with history old and new - the structures and the artwork, incredible. Beautiful Spring weather and a nice walk in the bush. A favourite for sure. SL TFTC Firnsy. Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events
Great day out caching with GeoSis Wellsy21
Amazing place that me didnt know about, would love some more info on the area and what it was used for.

i drive past this place on my way to work every day didnt know it was there interesting place
Found the little sucker with no problem but I think the terrain is greater than a 1.5 especially with a bad knee up hill. Thanks firnsy
Found @ 12:25!
I like history so when I drove past here a few weeks ago, I was determined to visit!
It would be quite interesting if they could restore one of the huts to show what it would've been like on the inside back in the day...
Having said that, they seem to provide a large canvas for graffiti 'artists', which does not seem to be doing any permanent damage, so better here than other buildings in the nearby towns...!
The cache was better hidden than I expected and didn't see it first time as it was partially buried in cobwebs!
Removed it cautiously and signed log.

Out with Keego in this area where we had looked to place a cache nearby. Quickly found by Keego. Old structures. Big thanks for taking us here and reminding us of our past.
Out and about with AmstradKid and Jazl for a bit caching in the Wellard area. A lovely walk to the cache and an easy find, loved the history here pity we don't preserve more of this, SL thx firnsy for bringing us here
Out and about with trevkevred and CalJules after the 10-11-12 event.
Master Cal was on it like a bloodhound [^]
Interesting place not many people know about I'm sure.

After the 10/11/12 event off I went with Me&B as usual and caljules. Talked to some young guys spray painting the side of one of the very close bye structures. They were paying tribute to a friend that died 19years old. I don't like graffiti but this was a work of art, check it out and I thought appropriate. Young Cal was soon on to the cache, signed the log and off we went home as the heat was getting to us. TFTH Firnsy, nice to talk to you again at the event and we will be watching your space ha ha.
When the boss walks in and says that you can go home at 1100, what do you do? Apparently there was some race on somewhere that 'stops the nation'. Not sure what that is about, I simply saw an opportunity to go caching
I parked in the convenient parking area for this cache and took the short walk in. This is what I love about caching, being shown different areas and things you would never have seen otherwise. The history around here is pretty neat and I also like the graffitti art on the buildings. Not the tags, but the art.
The cache find itself was very easy and quickly achieved
Thanks for the cache and for showing me this place firnsy
Cheers

Came by today on my way home, never knew all these were here. Found quickly. SL TFTH and bringing us here.
Although we had noticed the bunker by the road previously, we never knew what was up the hill. Surprisingly this proved to be a quick find today.
TFTC - Great spot. Amazing art on the old buildings. The nano is pretty well hidden. Took a while to find it.
After finding the last one not too far away, one that I had previously logged a dnf for, my optimism and energy was renewed, so I thought I would give this one a go. Found it no probs. Thanks for bringing me here to see what is here to see. I took the time to admire the 'street art' around gz, and wondered at the untapped talent of some of our young people. For once, I wasn't critical of their vandalism, instead admiring their work, however misguided it might be. Thanks for bringing me here firnsy
Lots of things to do this weekend, and one was not going to be caching, the warm weather meant that spring clean up around the house was required. But today was a day required for the 366 Challenge. So, I volunteered to drop the son at work and then I made a slight detour to this location. I had a good idea where this was as I had been here for other caches in the past.
Parked in front of the locked gate and walked up the hill to this abandoned spot. Thanks firnsy for again giving me a reason to venture to this area.
Found the little sucker quickly, signed the log, and back home for the spring clean

Out on a day trip to Kwinana with FelixII picking up a cluster of local caches.
We decided to park at the suggested coordinates for RAAF Radar and walk around the whole
of the Sloans reserve and search out all three of the caches that are here.
Having found RAAF Radar we continued the walk to this historic spot.
Despite being ruined by local graffiti artists, you still got a feel of its original purpose.
We searched the obvious spot and didn't uncover it initially, then FELIX looked
from a different angle and VOILA the Cache.
Many thanks.

Mrs Felix and The Machman had been planning a caching day around Kwinana for an age.
Finally the day arrived. Mrs Felix's feet were recovering from 4 enormous blisters and she also had a toothache, but wasn't going to be denied a caching day that had been 4 weeks in the making. (sorry for my ummmm moodiness MM, but sometimes painkillers aren't enough for toothache )
I hadn't noticed this cache published after I had written my initial list for todays caching run. Fortunately MM said what about this one? So we looked it up and realised it was a new one. So we walked in a anti clockwise loop from RAAF Radar and eventually came to GZ.
We both searched the obvious spot and initially didn't see the cache on rechecking I was lucky enough to come up with the smilie! Phew! Must admit, I was thinking it might be a bit trickier than that ..

Joint FTF with skippy 46 at 2.30pm. This was the first time i had walked down this track (i have only lived in the area for 37 years). I have seen the bunker on the side of the road but i didnt realize there was more in the bush. It took us a while to find as the gps was jumping all over the place but we were happy to find the sneaky little nano in its hidey spot. TFTC
OOH YEH popped over for a coffee and I was just about to make it when the phone dinged. Having a look I saw that this one was only 3ks from home so with OOH YEH we set out to find the cache. I have seen the bunker hundreds of times over the years but had never ventured down the track before, so I was surprised to see more bunkers.
We searched on all the possibilities as my phone GPS was running low on batteries and jumping all over the place. We eventually located the little blighter, signed the log and returned home to have that long awaited for coffee.
TFTH firnsy and for showing me a part of history that I didn't know existed.

Was at another cache nearby when I saw the logs and realised there was a new cache here so came over and made a quick find at GZ. Quite an interesting place. Would have been a bit more interesting if the taggers had left more of the signs readable.
Thanks firnsy for the cache.
