Today was doing the coastal tour to Troubridge Point Lighthouse, before making the long trip home. Picked up caches regularly, as well as finishing the Investigator Straight Shipwreck Trail adventure lab. Very enjoyable day with some fantastic views. TFTC
Well, well, well . . . And Ive had the privilege to see three wells today. If I was back home, the wells would be full of cane toads. Lets hope these pests unlike the touring Qlders never make it to the southern states. Thanks earthlight for entertaining me today with all your caches.
Visiting the area with NZ_B, Mr Mcgoo and Marchwood. Today Marchwood and I decided to explore the area further south of Port Vincent - and also pick up some caches along the way before heading up to Adelaide for the Great Leap Forward Mega tomorrow. Looks like the day will be a little cooler - yah. What a great area for geocaching - Really enjoyed visiting lots of seaside towns. Thanks to all the Co's for the caches and ad labs that we picked up on our way. Thanks to earthlight for your interesting caches

Always nice to find a bit of history due to geocaching, so many spots tucked away that no one realises are here. Had us looking for a bit but with the road fairly quiet today we didnt feel conspicuous at all.Lovely spot to holiday around these parts but geez its very flat country. Thanks earthlight for the cache. Found, signed and replaced as found.
Ms FV has another committment this arvo so touring the District seeking smilies.

We are staying nearby at Sultana Point for a few nights and needed to stock up on a few essentials, so decided on a trip to YorkeTown with caching on the way while there (of course )
What interesting structures, although this one seems to be more of a trough than a well.
Thanks for the cache and getting us to stop here earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Day 1 of our holidays had us up early and ready for a geocache or two while we explored the Yorke Peninsula. Starting in Edithburgh and ending our day in Marion Bay. A total of 38 caches found today.
It would be interesting to find out more info about these wells, how old they are, what they were used for etc TFTC

Glad for the hint because it was pouring with rain and it made me very wet just getting out of the car. I retreated back to the warm seat to sign the log and then ducked out into the weather again to put it back in place.
No need for a well on day like today there is water ... everywhere!!!

Found with mogni, sir_spectre, allister w, Aussie M & M and JJ52. Our team name for the weekend was Mystery Randoms and logs were stamped with the team stamp to save space.
After a huge day yesterday completing the geoart, today we made our way home, grabbing a few select caches on the way.
We had a great weekend full of fun and friendships. My biggest caching trip yet.
A different type of well to the last one we visited. I am loving these historic locations.

I think that completes all the wells in this area. quick find.
All logs today were stamped as " Mystery Randoms ". The team was sir_spectre, mogni, allister w, Aussie M & M, JJ52 and Gizmo Gang.
Yesterday was mogni's last calendar day to fill with 10 in every day. We completed the whole geo art in one day. So today was slowly going back home with only the Anna Tommy geo art planned. A casual pace was set for the return home.

A long weekend with a massive amount of geocache finds in the Yorke Peninsula! The weekend was filled with a loong day of the fishing line power trail, followed by a subsequent day of the geoart at the peninsula bottom. I managed to squeeze in a night scuba dive, and then it was a slow return home finding a few geocaches on the way. An unexpected enjoyable weekend than what I thought it would be, with great company from locals Munja and skuzzybear, and visiting Kiwis mar1sa and the Seagnoid.
Today's objective was to complete as much of the geoart power trails as we could, and we were not under as much time pressure for running in and out of the vehicle as we did yesterday. It was a later start departing around 9:30 a.m. collecting a few geocaches from Edithburgh to Yorketown before meeting up with the other team members. We then completed the following geoart: Fishy Tales (FT), Fish, Jellyfish, Sally Starfish, and Sammy Starfish. The remaining caches from the Anchor were also found from the previous evening. A rewarding dinner was then had in Yorketown, before I said farewell to the team and squeezed in a night scuba dive at Edithburgh Jetty.
This was my first find of the day leaving Coobowie and Edithburgh. An interesting location that was very worthy of a cache, so enjoyed learning/seeing the history. It didn't take long to find this cache, and inside contents and logbook were in good shape, thanks earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Touring around the peninsula picking up caches as we go. on this windy old day. Time to check out some wells. Cache in good order signed quickly and back into the warmth of the car. Tftc
**text**checked on cache and found original in rocks and dry grass at base original spot. Have moved the bison to OUTSIDE of the tank again. Please replace found.
Off down the Yorke for a few days with Purrfect Di, Jack, Sebastbat, muggle Alex and Chloe the geodog (cat's crazy staff).
Celebrating Di and Matty's birthdays with a few scenic caches.
Had a look for this one in the obvious places, no luck.
Realised it's a trip for the CO to maintain, so contacted and arranged to replace with permission.
It's not magnetic anymore, but there is a small blockage keeping the new bison in place,
and a couple of small stones out of place to cover the cache hide.
There's only one bit that matches the clue, and we used the wrong end! It still works.
You can probably reach over and in, but if you do climb in please do it carefully and watch out for all the broken glass
that seems to have gathered inside. Someone must have had a wild party right here
We loved the history in this and similar caches nearby, it's amazing how these have survived, but more amazing how people back in 1870 survived with simple watersources such as this.... aaahhhhh the good old days!

Have driven up and down this road countless times, and now that I have my own car, finding caches like these is now possible.
Spent the night with family, and couldn't resist stopping on the side of the road to grab a smiley on the way back to Adelaide. Easy find, signing the log while leaning into the boot (where my pen happened to be) removes any suspicion. My first nano. Thanks for this one!

With the wind eased right off this morning the only issue might be rain today, but even then that should only be passing light showers.
So we are back out chasing caches again!
This time we are again heading south from Edithburgh but inland towards Port Moorowie. Very interesting countryside, all the lakes that randomly pop up add to the character of the surrounds.
Our last cache on this circuit for us today, and another well. We guess this network of Wells was of great importance in the early days of settlement.
A nice straightforward find to finish.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.
My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.
We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days !
Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process .
After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!
The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!
Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.
We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.
Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.
Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.
As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.
We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.
Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!
Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!
Cheers

The Yorke Peninsula has always been a drawcard for us, with its iconic stone buildings and historic ruins and now of course - countless caches. In the very fine company of Alansee, Micaparamedic, Team Crackers and The Drovers, it was an awesome blast of fun adding some more smiley tokens to our collection.
Interesting to see the old infrastructure.
Thanks for this cache 'earthlight'.

Yorke Peninsula Day 3: A small break for power trails (after a quick 60 caches from the fishing line...). Then we collected caches around the Yorketown and Edithburgh area and in the Innes National Park. Some spectacular scenery to take in, strong winds to battle on top of cliffs, and another exhausting day. Signed as SWAG-JJ. TFTC!
Travelling down from Queensland with my fellow cachers Snickersallan, Waz and Vik, Ardom, Gcoven and JooJoo57. We have planned a week long adventure to collect all the geoart, the fishing line and anything else we can get. Thanks for the cache!
Day 3: A bit of a slower day today, did a smidge of the powertrail, a swag of traditionals and a few other randoms along the way.

We have commenced Part 2 of our holiday. Part 1 was Easter at Morisset and we came home to sort out some family business. Now we are heading to South Australia instead.
