On our way to the Burren, we spotted this cache which looked like it might be nice. So we parked at the nearest available spot and walked down the road, where it became immediately apparent that the track in to the cache was in fact a small river. Back to the car we trudged and changed into more appropriate footwear (grateful that we thought to bring gumboots on this Irish holiday!), then we had no problem splashing through the water, where we came into a beautiful hidden grotto. The cache was found without any problems, in good condition though I may have gotten a bit of moisture into it as it was raining at the time. Thank you for showing us this lovely place!

We will spent our holidays in Ireland (three weeks) en Great-Brittain (one week). Ofcourse we have to look for some (many) caches.
Especially because this is our first visit to Ireland.
Naturally we will be looking for the oldest cache of Europe, but not untill we are near Dublin.
The next weeks we will drive around Ireland to see the country.
Many thanks to all owners for placing their caches, we have enjoyed them.

Dropped in here after The Sound Of Silence at around 22:30 at the end of a fantastic days caching in the sun, and very happy I did as it is a beautiful place full of history.

Thanks a lot Burren tracker!

Too dark for a photo with my phone, sorry.

Picked up the Compass rose TB to move on

I finally got around to replacing the box. If the next geocacher would have the time to let everything dry out a bit more, that would be great!

I came back to my cache today with a group of friends, as we did a holy well tour in the area. So I checked on the cache (which is a bit damp, I will exchange the box soon), and dropped off a TB that I had brought over from Germany.

Road down was flooded but just went through the farmer field, great spot especially the water coming down after all the rain. Quick find, TNLN

Nice easy find with Gotch87. Beautiful spot.

I went back to my cache today because I was cutting away shrubs down the road, at Cappagh Castle with the Burren Volunteers, and I had time to kill. I waded through the water and took some more pictures, then looked into the cache container to drop my own TB into its first cache. Took out two travelbugs and will move them on soon.

Great to see SaaX in their persons after the volumes of caching communications we exchanged "anonymously" over the past year or so Smile, I applaud the idea of a weekend meet and greet event..

Burrentracker, you'll never guess who we spotted as we made our way up the laneway to your cache today... curus.lulus and family Very Happy They beat us to the FTF this time - payback for Inisheer a few weeks ago Wink It was great to finally meet in person and we discussed plans to organise a meet and greet event in early summer next year so we can all get together Smile
Anyway, back to the cache Very Happy We cycled from home and really enjoyed the spin. The cache area is great. I can't believe how many times we've driven and cycled past here and never knew about it. Pity they don't put a sign at the end of the laneway cos it's a really nice place to visit.
We came home by the Burren Perfumery and couldn't resist stopping off in the team rooms. We had a very nice strawberry sponge cake and carrot cake Smile We deserved it after cycling 30km, right Very Happy

SaaX

I dropped off Crystal Starfish as part of the initial cache content when I hid the cache. Before I put it into the cache, Crystal took a refreshing bath in the stream going through the holy well.
