On a road trip together with -moge-; across New Zealand; from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island; up, down, right, left ... So much to see, so much to experience. So many great, and sometimes old, caches! But I can hardly keep up with the logging. Far too exhausted from all the experiences. I am sorry that it will now be a standardized log for some founds.
Hello gracie7 + Mum,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. Today we came across your Cache "Curious Weka (Punakaiki, West Coast)" and signed the logbook with our names or took pictures for Virtuals or Earthcaches and answered all questions asked. Its great how many nice spots we are able to discover through our journey and how many of them we only See because of Geocaching! Thanks for bringing us to this place and takeing care for the geocache. Liebe Gre und vielen Dank fr die Hege und Pflege deines Traditional Cache! -moge-#############Der Cache "Curious Weka (Punakaiki, West Coast)" von "gracie7 + Mum" war fr mich Cache 6773. My wife and I are in town from Cleveland, Ohio for our vacation "Trip of a Lifetime" for the next 3 weeks and of course we are going to be doing some geocaching while we're here. This one had us searching for a bit but after reading the hint I was able to make the sweet discovery here. Great hide! All is well with the cache. TFTC!
I flew into Christchurch a couple of days ago for a 3-week bucket list road trip around South Island, and made my way across the Alps to the West Coast yesterday, ending up here in Punakaiki for the night.A straightforward find here on my way out of town this morning without any muggles around to keep an eye ... bliss! Thanks to Gracie7 for a nice hide.
automatic translation EN : After visiting Tauranga Bay and its seals, we stop here to admire the Pancakes Rocks. Despite the rain and the wind, we will do the entire walk, remembering to answer the labs' questions and look for the caches found here. Thank you to all the installers for the work carried out for our greatest pleasure. Greetings from France. Our Travel Bugs pass through this cache but do not come out of our backpack; they continue the adventure with us. Trip to New Zealand, decided very quickly , but that didn't stop us from preparing a small file of caches to search, as far as possible. The GC46 was, of course, at the top of that list! and there you have it, we visited it during our stay in Wellington. Yesss!! To explore the island today we are going from the east coast to the west coast. ??We drive over the Arthur Pass through very varied landscapes. ??Sometimes the valley is narrow, sometimes it is wide. Then again we drive along a wide river delta. We see bare mountain slopes and then again forested mountains. ????So our tour is never boring. ??We choose a few caches along the way to search for and log.??Earthcaches??, labcaches and virtuals are also popular. ??A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi??

Day #5 Nelson to Greymouth - The Mega New Zealand ExperienceA chance for an overseas Mega was too good to pass up. Especially with half the state seeming to be attending also. I set about some last minute planning.? Flights still available? Accommodation found? Mode of transport securedLooks like its time to cross the ditch. Ive never visited the South Island before so it is bound to be a fun filled trip. After a day of exploring Nelson and a home cooked dinner from Grub62 and Bunadoorian, it was off to Greymouth via a number of sights. After a wonderful stroll around this area, I snuck out the front to grab this trad.A big thanks goes to gracie7 + Mum for taking the time to add Curious Weka (Punakaiki, West Coast) to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. From day 49/74, I was accompanied by my dear son, geocacher Ruupertti, who travelled from Finland to visit me in Australia and to spend a holiday with me in New Zealand at the end of my secondment. Day 68/74, Friday. Finally time for our holiday in the beautiful New Zealand, day 4/7! Today was an awesome day! Today we enjoyed the beautiful West Coast. We drove from Charleston to Fox Glacier. We saw some things we will never forget - such as the Seal Colony Tauranga Bay and the Pancake Rocks and Blowholes in Punakaiki. I just LOVE New Zealand! After visiting the Pancakes and the Blowholes, we visited this cache. It was a quick find. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! On our thirteenth day in New Zealand we drive from Picton Tasman. This beautiful cache was on our way.TFTCHennesAt the end comes the poem of the day.New ZealandBy James K. Baxter(for Monte Holcroft)These unshaped islands, on the sawyers bench,Wait for the chisel of the mind,Green canyons to the south, immense and passive,Penetrated rarely, seeded onlyBy the deer-cullers shot, or else in the northTribes of the shark and the octopus,Mangroves, black hair on a boxers hand. The founding fathers with their guns and bibles,Botanist, whaler, added bones and namesTo the land, to us a bridleAs if the id were a horse: the swampy townsLike dreamers that struggle to wake, Longing for the poets truthAnd the lovers pride. Something new and oldExplores its own pain, hearingThe rains choir on curtains of grey mossOr fingers of the Tasman pressingOn breasts of hardening sand, as actorsFind their own solitude in mirrors, As one who has buried his dead,Able at last to give with an open hand.
It was quite a few years ago that we visited here. Looks very different to how we remember it. So much work going. Busy with muggles, obviously, but no one at gz, so we could grab this one easily. TFTC
