Sadly not found for over a year with multiple DNFs. Would be good if the CO could check and confirm it’s there. Thanks.
I had found this cache earlier, but since we are in the vacinity, stopped here to ensure the dragon does not have any odd green splodges messing up her sea of yellow. Like others, no find. Spent quite a bit of time making sure too. I see the CO has since archived the cache. Good move.
Had a good good look on both sides but unable to find. Cameras pointing at us also.
Ambling our way home from Wanganui, taking our time geocaching. No luck here for us today.
Found in between the heavy showers. Liked the bridge a lot and could see a walkway down to the bottom, pity we didn't have more time to explore. TFTC
#9832. A stop on Handley Road in Kai Iwi. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The container lid had gone, but the log sheet remained dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Dad found this one while on morning walk, while holidaying at Kai-Iwi Beach.
#3505 3 of 24 today.
Day 5 of my NZ trip (already ?) and the weather was very pleasant today and should be OK for the remaining few days. Today I was in and around Whanganui. Before lunch I visited Mowhanu, just up north and then the Bason Botanic gardens which has quite a few geocaches. After lunch I slowly headed back into town via Nobby's Grotto which has some very cool caches and then a few "urban" caches around town. I should have found a lot of caches today but my eye was not "in" today and I missed heaps. Perhaps the only downside of the day.
A nice quick find in a pretty spot.
TFTC mjmnz.

Was in Wanganui for a drive to pick up a few caches, after finding all the caches at Ototoka Beach it was time to decide as to where to go to next. I decided that since I was out here I would visit Kai Iwi Beach as well.
Notice that there was a cache along the road toward Kai Iwi Beach and I decided that since I was heading this way I might as well pick up this cache as well. As I was heading to GZ from North to South when I reached GZ I notice that there wasnt really much room for me to park my car on the correct side of the road so I decided to park across the road.
The GPSr was pointing me to the middle of the road and after checking the wrong side of the road I decided to check the other side and was soon rewarded with the cache, managed to signed and replaced it back as found, noticed that the cache was missing its lid but it was still dry as it hiding spot was keeping it dry. Thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12364)

It was finally a sunny day in the area- we have not had many of these type of days in the Manawatu this year- and so I decided a trip to this beach would be ideal and locate this series of caches along the way to the beach.. I visited here many years ago and only vaguely remember the look out and I don't think I went down to the beach. It now just leaves me to re visit Bason reserve and locate the newer caches placed there since I visited the reserve 7 years ago. I took a photo of the river at Ground Zero although I had to be quick and watch for traffic on the one way bridge. Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.
This was our cache furtherest west today and made this our turn around point. GPS had us on the other side of the road but that was soon sorted out and as others have mentioned the lid is missing. Log strip in good order though. TFTC
took the wrong road after the mega so taking the long way home and finding some great caches along the way. TFTC
This requires looking into as there is now no lid that accompany's this container.
Container has lid missing . As MJMNZ away overseas could someone please replace with a small container bottle etc and temporary log if visiting the cache. Many thanks
So, this is the last one in Whanganui, at least for this holiday. My cousin Yuri, who lives about 250 metres from the cache, already wanted to show me this one since the day we arrived. We saved it for our last evening here. Together with mu sister and her son I walk downhill and towards the cache. The oxes, named Teddy and Schnitzel, are very happy to see us, because they think they will be put back in their own paddock again after grazing all day at the runway (hardly any grass left in the paddock, end of winter). But we walk by to go to the cache first, and then they let us know in loud and clear "moo"ing they don't agree with that stupid plan! But sorry boys, you'll just have to wait.
Yuri knows exactely where the cache is and he hands it over right away. The lid is missing, but someone thought of a quite cleaver solution for that. Placed back the cache in good order just before sunset, and put the "boys" in the paddock afterwards.
Thanks for this cache!

On my way to Whanganui to complete the third Mission Impossible: find and log a Mystery cache. When planning my trip yesterday I saw there was an event in the vicinity so that was the current plan. Having arrived early I thought I'd take the opportunity to grab these few on the road to Ototoko beach. The film canister has lost its lid, although no biggie as I note it's a waterproof log. TFTC. Sorry we didn't see you at the event mjmnz
Out for the day with Mr and Mrs 2 Bullbars to an event at the nearby Lakes, this one was in the area, and so we tracked it down to find another cacher Prussian East (sp) already at GZ and looking hard. We soon had the cache in hand, but slippy log sheet what hard to sign. Lid missing to cache container, sorry did not have a spare with me. Mission accomplished, this one is a wrap. Thanks for the cache from Blenheim Bear!

Teamed up with Sunju after staying the night in Wanganui for a work event. After tying up a few loose caches we'd individually been having trouble with in Wanganui, it was time to head out of town in the direction of the main event of the day - the Meet the Flying Dutch"men" event in Mowhanau. We made a plan for the day to make the most of the time and that we could arrive at the event at the prescribed time. After caching the beautiful Bason Gardens, we still had about 30 minutes to spare, so we took a small detour to collect this cache and the required code for the final.
Sunju dropped me off to locate the cache whilst she turned the car around. Quickly located the cache and was signing the log when a different car to Sunju's pulled up - fellow cachers. They also signed the log and we returned the cache to the right spot. Cache lid is missing so log is in danger of getting wet. TFTC

Our main goal was to pick up a puzzle cache in Whanganui or nearby, and we had just completed the 174 Degree challenge cache and continued on down the road because we like scenic coastal spots.
Using a combination of phone and GPSr we were picking off random hides along the way, and this was but a short detour, and a quick find (as a part of the container was on the ground nearby) on a fine but blustery day. Thanks for the hide.

In Wanganui for a work event on Friday night and having stayed over we (Push 'n East and I) took the opportunity to join up for a day of caching before attending a caching event just north of Wanganui.
And yet another "just one more" before the event and it had to be the last! Parking at the location was not great as there was a small rise for cars to come over quickly without much time to see you parked up. So I continued up the road whilst Push'n East signed the log. By the time I got back fellow cachers were there. In order to not have two cars at the location we quickly move on to park up at the hall ready for the walk to the event up the top of the hill. TFTC

Just up the road for an event today so followed everybody almost to this one then on down the road.TFTC
After grabbing a cache at Maxwell I looked up and see the road name and realised there was some caches t the end of this road. Not on my planned route but that's ok, let's take a scenic drive!! Easy find at gz but as I retrieved log the lid disintegrated in my hands.sorry. tried to fix as best as I could.
We're visiting from Florida, USA. That was great fun. Thanks for placing the cache.
Well this was my early mothers day gift - one driver for the day to allow me to grab some caches, roughly 21 grabbed in total and home by 6pm - only had one car come past and it happened to be while we were looking for this cache tftc
I approached from Ototoko via the gravel road and stopped here for the cache. First I had a look at the wrong side but then I was successfull. Nice landscape and nice little river.
Thanks a lot for the cache.

On a geocaching expedition to Wanganui today with half of siderosnz, mainly to do Westmere and Kai Iwi Beach caches.
Having completed an enjoyable circuit of Westmere on this fine summer day, it was time to head for the beach.
When it was time to go we decided to return to SH3 via Kai Iwi Valley Road, so deviated a little to pick up this cache. It was a quick, straightforward find. TFTC

After Westmerelake and Bason Botanic Gardens we continued to Kai Iwi Beach and Bushy Park, some find included. Thanks.
Nice quick park and grab although helps to look on the right side of the road tftc
Time to spend some time at the beach and out roundabout the locality.
I signed this one off as the first for the day.
Cheers for the cache.

We were finding the Life's a beach series on our way to Mowhanau this morning. After finding #4 one of us pushed 'Find next closest' on the GPS and we ended up on the Road to Ototoko rather than to the beach. Found the cache then drove on a bit to a driveway where we could turn around. TFTC.
Just been at the beach and thought we would swing by the nearby caches on the way out. Readily located and logged.
Out this way doing the life's a beach trail, cool bridge area few wild goats I wouldn't mind collecting, but they won't fit in my trades bag!
Cheers

A mission was needed to complete one of the last few licence challenges on Rangitoto Island, so a passing comment to C&D at an event and this mission was soon planned. We nearly achieved what we set out to accomplish, with only 1 more cache to find to complete the challenge but that was due to miss-reading the fine print on the challenge page.
So with the mission lasting 48 hours we amassed a great set of numbers, 317 caches found, just over 1200km travelled, about 7 hours of sleep, C&D finding his 180th earthcache, completing the KAS powertrail in under 3 hours and finding numerous amazing geocaches. A lot of fun was had along the way, and some great memories were created. A big thanks to everyone for placing all the caches along the way, this mission wouldn't have been as much fun if they weren't there!
No trouble finding this one, thanks for the hide.

Well another mission down the line in what HKCB and I were expecting to be another large caching weekend where numbers were the target, Sleep was for the weak, OCD=commitment , and petrol was a must. We left home at 6pm and headed straight down here to start what was going to be a long couple of days, so with much planning (compliments of HKCB) and a good supply of nourishing caching supplies in the back.
With a total of 1250 kms (just a short drive) and 5 hours of sleep we were definitely going to earn our rest by Sunday evening when we got home. Oh, we even managed to attend an event along the way and meet fellow cachers from the area while in Wanganui.
Now into the start of the last day (daylight part) and a bit more caching to go before we can head for home and a couple of caches that have been targeted since we started the planning for this little escapade.
This was my twentith for the day (and two hundred and twenty second for the weekend). Following on from 4 hours sleep, Yeah I know all that caching time lost but have you seen us, we need all the beauty sleep we can muster. No worries about the locals watching us and wondering what we are up to at this time of the day as the roads were all quiet as we headed along country roads
Thankfully both HKCB and I enjoy caching through the night (and the day), well we have had plenty of experience of it, especially as we are both working on individual challenges, mine being the DGSc Challenge and includes the Night Caching elective.

Called here while doing some caching in the area on the way south from Taranaki to Wellington. A quick find in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC
Log full and damp. I found a piece of paper to add to cache in my car.Another quick stop. TFTC
Found with Peter and Gwen who found it first. I would never have known that the little beach was down the road if the cache hadn't been here. We were staying at Mowhanau so it was a good side excursion from there. Thanks!
Found while on our way to Taranaki for a few days R&R &GC. Second day, Wanganui to New Plymouth, should take about two hours, Yeah Right! Quick find, TFTC.
There was very slow road works on the main road so we ducked down and grabbed some caches... this was the first one. T4tc
On our journey to Paraparaumu we found this cache near a nice little beach.

A nice quiet spot for a cache with a quick find. One entry left on log. TFTH.
Hi your log roll is nearly full and rather wet. We came by and the kids wanted to see it again.
Off on a day trip north to catch up with family and decided to do a 'few' caches along the way, as you do .
A quick find at GZ but had to return to the car to fill in the log due to a passing rain shower. Waited for a local to drive past and disappear around the corner before returning the cache and heading on our way. TFTC.

A winters day trip to Whanganui was suggested by Mrs capperz and after Mr capperz consulted the GSAK database off we set for a day at Bason Reserve (if they allow dogs.....not sure)
Having stopped off at the nearby Kai Iwi beach this was next on the list and a quick and easy find was made at GZ

Been meaning to get this one for a couple of years now, so this was the time to get it.
Great spot for a cache with plenty of great spots to hide a cache.

We tried to be discrete, but were well watched by 2 groups of curious 'moogles'! There was a set on either side of the road up above us and we wondered if they hankered for some Valentines type attention or something as they eyed each other (and us) up! Otherwise, dead quiet. TFTC
A quick find on my 'Naki trip. As a previous log notes the gorge is quite deep. TFTC
On a cache hunt with Davycrockpot, detoured along the Sth Taranaki Beaches,to grab some caches and enjoy the views. A quick pack and grab. TFTC
Quick easy find in the obvious spot. My original plan was to do the loop. Out this way then back via Brunswick Road. But this cache mentioned Identity Crises, and it's on the end of a deadend road.... I'll be really annoyed if I left it out. So I headed there next, and ended up with not enough time to do the Brunswick section. Oh well. Next time.
