A short drive from This is Yea Spur and another well hidden but easy find. Gets another Fav Point because of the views! Oh my the wind is cold!! Thanks Alansee.
A nice quick find on a chilly "thank heavens we're not on the bike" day....cranky the heater up dear! Lol, I'm getting soft in my old age! TFTC
Bypassing my old home town Flowerdale for a visit up to Yea. A wee diversion to pick up some caches on this road. Surprised that the road was well maintained.. I may have been lucky that it was recently graded? Nice quick find I was happy that I had these ones on an offline map. tftc
TFTC. Great view, Fresh air, beautiful sunset and a bottle of riverport lime from the Yea servo!
Out caching around the Yea and Molesworth area today. Did a bit of driving but the scenery and caches were worth the time. TFTC
A trip from Canberra, ACT to Whittlesea, Vic with a few side quests for LGAs. TFTC.
Was parked in the potential flood area at Yea so decided to head to high ground. Didn't know it would be so high here. Now in a high winds zone. Can't win.
Also now have an issue turning my caravan around. Pretty tight. Don't want to put it over the edge of the hill. Went a kilometer down the track before I found a tight spot but did manage the turn. Now to find a lower spot to camp.

Further along the spur and the views are getting better.Another nice cache in a beautiful area. TFTC
We continued along the road, admiring these magnificent views along the way. A likely candidate for hiding a cache was soon spotted, then found. Signed the log, replaced the ziplock bag, checked out the views again, then back in the car to the next one.
Thank you Alansee.
Thank you Alansee.
Another Alansee cache with great views. Grub62 and I were really appreciative of being brought to this area to enjoy the views. The scenery alone deserves a favorite point. The cache was all in good order as well. TFTC.
What lovely views from where we parked the car. Bunadoorian found this cache first. Thank you Alansee for bringing us to this lovely area. TFTC.
Had found and logged before hubby had turned car around. Stunning spot for a gc. Tftc Alansee
Holy moly it is bloody cold. View is a beautiful reminder of the joys of geo caching. Would have driven straight past it without geocache ️
Truly breath taking view along here.
Saw a young deer was jumping across in front of me!
Wish take video but it was quick before my own eyes.
So grateful to be here.

Took the Geoson out with his L plates on for a drive, going from Yarra Glen to Yea for lunch and then back via Flowerdale and Kinglake. Enjoyed the views from along the spur as we found these caches. All good on this one. Oh, and we made it home safely and stress free after the driving lesson!
We are on our way to Flowerdale Estate for a couple of days and taking the opportunity for a few caches on the way. We parked well off the road in case there was more traffic and a short search located the cache. Some nice views across valleys on both sides of the road. Thanks to Alansee for the cache.
Drove up the spur road on way back from Mt Disappointment which didn’t disappoint Car was running on fumes so took a risk.
Spectacular views across the valley from up here!

TFTC we got confused with the entry to the road but a uey got us back to the right spot.
Off to host a long weekend group camp in Alexandra and decided to grab a few caches on the way.
A quick find on my way up to have a look at the views!
Thanks Alansee for the cache.

Continuing along the Yea Spur Rd we followed the trail of caches strategically placed along here by the CO. To say we enjoyed the spectacular vista that unfolded before us as we traveled along the roller-coaster road would be an understatement! The views were incredible and we are going to make a point to come back on a fine winters day to see the hills when they are green!
I reckon I'll mark this one down as a favourite because of the views alone!

Ma and Pa dragon, out on a restful weekend after returning the now not so young dragon to a large educational establishment in Bundoora, are taking a roundabout route home to the dragon lair. What better way to spend some time but to find a few caches.
What a view.! Without caching, who would know to drive up this little road and find an absolute picture perfect panorama which opens up before you.
Whilst caching, we met the property owner who was checking for fire following a lightning storm the previous evening. He said that the property was a working sheep property on both sides o the track. He was very interested in the idea of geocaching which he had not heard of previously.
Found this cache in a likely looking spot. The cache is in good condition and well hidden.
Signed the log and replaced the cache. TNLN

dalerious was the lucky finder here.
This one had all signatures that the previous log did not.
And the scenery just keeps on getting better.
Thank you so much for placing the caches here for us to find.
We would never have thought to travel this “No Through Road” otherwise, and look what we would have missed out on seeing.
A favourite point for the view.

Seriously [?] [:o]
How can the view get even better [?]
Thanks Alansee for putting this string of caches out. [^] Reguardless of how interesting the contour lines looked, I really don't think we would have come all the way up here for just one cache at the end of a lonely "No Through Road" leading to a private driveway.
And just look at what we would have missed out on........ THIS!!! [:o]
We did the whole covid safe thing and used loads of hand sanitiser and didn't lick anything. [8)]

Found by Mary and David at 17:55. There's always time for one more to round off the day's tally. A few visitors here today. The grass does look bleached, but the ranges are magnificent. A FP for the views. We'll have to come back after the rains. Our thanks to Alansee.
A perfect sunny day for caching. Not too hot and not too cold. Quick find today on the way to the event in Yea. Lovely view from up here.

Two caches along the road, a great view from both of them.
A huge weekend away, with over 2000km being driven over 3 days from Adelaide to Mansfield via swan hill and Echuca, then return via Bendigo and St Arnaud. The target was to collect 11 new local government areas and mostly stop and do some multis.
But the main goal was tour of Mansfield, a cycling tour consisting of 3 stages over 2 days (Saturday and Sunday).
Stage 1: 14km Individual time time trail.
Stage 2: 76km road race finishing up old Tolmie
Stage 3: 46km road race finishing up the top of mt bulla.
Wednesday I left Adelaide for Victoria via pinnaroo, I decided I would stop when I had enough of driving. I camped in the back of a cemetery yes a cemetery, nice and peaceful in Nyah. Thursday I made my way from Nyan to Mansfield via Swan Hill, Echuca and Shepparton with 2 trips over the boarder. A lot of DNFs on caches as some were barrow red off due to road works and others I must if stuffed up. I ended up camping the night in Mansfield. Friday I held my event in Mansfield with a big show of 1 (just myself)!!! And went for a drive up mt bulla. Saturday was mainly racing and Sunday after the race I made my way back to Adelaide via Victorias oldest cache and some new roads through the middle of victoria that I had never been on before.. With arrival on Monday at 1am back home. A big trip out and a great weekend away with a little under 100 finds.
Thanks for the cache placements by all the cache owners.

After a great couple of days in Melbourne for the Parkville Mega (Including a detour to Geelong for a wedding on Saturday, my first 100 in a day and my 2000th cache! ) Today I am caching again with the crew as we make our way (slowly) back to Goulburn / Canberra. Including the last few Mt Bulla caches we missed whilst we were in Victoria last year. Travelling with Minniek, fitzy_1965, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1 & sneakysquirrel3326. Thanks for the cache!

Crackers went back to get the clue from the previous cache and sent LeeLee on foot to the next cache. Not long and cache was on hand. A well worn track in long grass on a warm day is a geocahers delight.

Yay. We were making progress. Luckily the road was rocky and not made of clay.
Found as part of my 2017 Alexandra Mega experience with the GOTHS. This cache added to the fun and enjoyment of my trek to the east and back from Adelaide. While there were a few thunder storms, there were mainly clear skies and I never saw a snake! [^]
Thanks to Alansee and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

Coming all the way from Norway to attend the Mega-event in Alexandra. I'm so glad I did, this is the absolutely best Mega-event I've ever been to!!! Usually I love to be on events and get to know new geocachers, because they are always friendly, but it seems like they are extra friendly and nice here in Australia!! After only 1 day, I feel like I know almost everyone here:-) It's hard to find words for explaining how good the lab-caches were, I've never seen anything like it before, absolutely amazing-all of them!!! I also attended a few puzzle-lessons, which were great, I really needed to learn how to solve puzzles. I cannot believe that the event was free, and that we even got free bbq-food. Lots of nice prizes and awards, the day couldn't have been any better. Thank you all for making this happen!!
About this cache:
I took a little detour to find the 3 caches in this series, I really wanted to find the large Bonus-cache. All of them were quick and easy finds, and no problem to drive there with a normal car today. The views up here were excellent. I'm adding a favourite-point on the bonus-cache. Tftc

The tenth find of the day. This morning, Loci612 and I hit the road to begin our trip south to the Alexandra Mega event. After an early start at work, I picked up Loci612 at 9:30am and we were ready to go. One of the main goals of this trip was to collect as many counties as possible and with such few finds between Canberra and Melbourne, it was just a matter of strategic cache selection. A couple of others along the way including Melbourne's First and a large cache and we were soon at Alexandra. Even made it in time for the welcome event! A pub dinner and then a bit of night caching to top off a fabulous first day of the mega.
Heading up Yea Spur today for the large cache, there was no way I could have passed up on grabbing this one. Well, there was no way Loci612 would have left me anyway. So we stopped here and headed over to make the quick find at GZ. Log signed and cache replaced. TFTC Alansee!

visiting the area from the Central Coast NSW to attend the mega event at Alexandra and came by to grab some caches. This was an easy cache Mr Minion picked the hide from the car by following the geo trail. Thanks for the cache Alansee tnln sl
Myself and Cankid departed from Canberra at 9:30am to start our trip towards Alexandra for the Mega event. Our main goal for today was to grab a cache in every unfound countie along the way as well as grab "Melbourne's First" to satisfy another challenge. We aimed to be in Alexandra in time for the welcome event which was also going to be my 30th regular event find!
After completing our goals and making it to the event in time we signed the log and said hello to a few people before heading back into Alexandra for a more civilised pub dinner with some Canberra friends. We then organised with a few people to head out and grab the two night caches in town before wrapping up the day and getting a good sleep for the first official day of the event!
---
Another bonus cache on the way to the mystery cache along the road. This one was straight foward and a quick find. An interesting and very quiet dirt road! Fun to drive along though! Thanks!

MEGA ROAD TRIP - Alexandra Mega 2017 that is. : Day 2: We finally get there. [8)]
After spending the night at Heathcote Mrs. Aussie M&M and I were up early for the drive to Alexandra. After caching our way to Broadford we met up with Bushfire and 6Hinemoa2. Too many names now to put in the logs so we simply used the team name GOTHS to save some space. Time to now cache our way to our farmstay accomodation near Alexandra.
There was light rain and wet, wet long grass and it wasn't long before I was soaked through. The others weren't fairing much better.[xx(][xx(] But once wet, we couldn't get any wetter, could we?
Our second cache out on the spur track, in the clouds with glimpses of some great scenery. A very new shed being erected nearby also. A qucik find in the obvious location.
Thanks Alansee for this cache.

Heading to the Alexandra Mega and stopped to collect a few caches on the way. We met up with our house friends and cached all the way to the farm stay just out of Alex.
The views as we travelled along the dirt road were fantastic. Even though it was still pouring with rain today, the sun popped out at times for us to enjoy them.
Found and logged under the caching collective name of GOTHS.

Great spot for a cache. Thanks Alansee for bringing me here twice during the Alexandra event time. Loved the views, the scenery and I didn't see Switzerland but caught a glimpse of what could be Montengro here. TFTC.
The day has arrived to head off to the 2017 Mega, up early and hit the road towards Bacchus Marsh to join up my very good caching mate 2Hinemoa6 and off towards Alexandra but with a few stops along just to break the journey as you do.
Thursday was a wet miserable day with light rain and then fog as we climbed higher.
We meet another two of our caching team in Broadford so now Aussie M & M and Brisal5 both from SA so that makes four with two more to join. From now on we logged as GOTHS or GOTHS +2 as we all live in the hills. 2nd stop along this ridge line.
Stopped at this cache as it was on our list, soon located, log signed so on to the next.
With hundreds of caches to log most will be cut and paste but I do thank all the owners for their thought and effort that has gone into placing a huge variety of hides.

I stayed in the car for this one, logging the last cache. NZ Sisso headed off in search of the cache, stick in hand, stamping feet and calling out here Snakey snakey snakey. We figure this must work as we have not seen a slithering friend since adopting this method. She soon had cache in hand and was back in the car. Off we go to do the puzzle.
After finding the first one and grabbing the mystery coords I continued up the track to find the next one
The view to the right was spectacular the rolling hills and ranges was worth a stop to take it all in

TFTC can appreciate how nice the view would be if the hills weren't covered in mist and rain.
I was slowly meandering my way up to the Caveat area from Melbourne today, stopping in at a few caches along the way. I also had plans to place my first cache today.
This cache was a godsend after the first in the series - much less long grass around GZ! There were, however, a lot more march flies. I just couldn't win! This cache was in hand after a short search - lucky, as there was still one more in the series to go! Onward and upward... TFTC

It was nice that the CO had placed 3 caches along this road as the views just kept unfolding.
A nice wet winter has meant the hills are as green as Ireland but the fragrant eucalypts remind us that no we are in Australia.
Another vehicle went past me at this point.
cache in good nick too
Cheers

Day 2 of the weekend around the area with fitzy_1965 and specimenX, with our main goal being the Mt Disappointmnet series. Headed back to Seymour along main road here, but took the short detour in to find 4 caches along this road. No problems with any of them.....and the views over the rolling green hills were fantastic.
Many thanks for the cache, and also for bringing us in along this road.

11578. Found during Day 2 of an epic caching weekend with specimenX and Sol de Lune.
The three of us (usually signing as 'FSS') traveled south this weekend for the Mt Disappointment Power Trail and as many others as possible. Day 2 of our trip - and now that we had finished the trail we continued along a big loop back to Seymour grabbing several more caches. We headed up and along this road admiring the views for a great 4 caches. Nice quick find here at GZ. Signed Log, Returned the Cache, and headed off to the next one !!
Thanks again Alansee !! Awesome Views !
TNLN - TFTC !!

Down from Canberra with fitzy_1965 and Sol de lune (signed as "FSS") to hit the Mt. Disappointment PT as well as a whole lot of other caches along the way! . Good weather, lots of laughs, a muddy Geo-Jeep and a massive haul of caches equals an epic weekend of caching all round!
And another quick find for us! Great views along here as well
Thanks for the hide, Alansee
