Awesome creative journey to find this cache. Love learning more about this town. TFTC
A big shout out to the COs for their variety of well maintained geocache types, especially all the Whereigos, the most weve seen in a single town in our travels, were loving geocaching our way around the WORLD of Charters Towers Our 1st multi, not too challenging to start with, but at GZ, we searched for awhile on the iron curtain before making the find, tricky hide, TFTC Cachedin NQ
Walked past today and was unable to locate cache, should be able relocate a new one soon
Spending a couple of days in Charters Towers with O319. Quick find after gathering the info
Checked on this one this afternoon and found in the right place and in good condition.
As Konie and I were passing by today, we stopped off to make a quick find. Log signed, everything returned as found, then we were on our way again. TFTC
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 79. Charters Towers Day 2. Today was supposed to be a shorter day doing the remaining caches around town I could get to. It turned unto a marathon of long multis zig zaging all over town with a dash way out to the south for one final location. I then had to out wait a ground staff person so I could make a dramatic climb to my last cache of the day. Lots of success, but it all took so much longer than expected.
This was the simplest of the multis today, but I managed to miss it on my first pass at GZ, so sought some help, and had to come back for a second look. Found it this time. I mast have been two quick the first time as it was just where I had been checking.
Thanks for the cache Cachedin NQ

Our last day in Charters Towers and it was the bikes turn for sight seeing, after our 4 weeks riding in Townsville, we have come to like caching on our bikes. Plan on doing a few hills but should be ok with the ebikes.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 13028,
another interesting multi here in charters towers. We particularly enjoyed visiting Act 1, where we spent some time marvelling at this wonderful building. It is amazing to think it has been expanded to fit 660 people in the audience.
After walking around town for a little more, with umbrellas with us, we decided to drive to Act 2 as it was a little too far in the rain.
With a good hint, we had the find in our hands within a minute.
Back to the car, out of the rain to sign the log.
Thanks Cachedin NQ.

We decided to start caching a little bit earlier than usual - best decision ever as it started showering later in the morning and then it just rained all afternoon.
We completed the tribe series as well as many other interesting caches north of Charters Towers.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.

Out and about caching in and around Charter Towers today. Caches visited took us too many spots with many varied caches of different sizes/shapes. Thank you for placing the caches in their locations. TFTC
Found as part of the Qld Cache mega event weekend in Townsville over Easter 2022. Joined forces with Gunnie69 after flying up from Brisbane to tackle a variety of caches around the Townsville area including three GeoArt series, other puzzles and a few labs! I would like to thank all the cache owners who are making this an enjoyable weekend!
Today we trekked out along the Flinders Highway to the historical town of Charters Towers. Enjoyed some of the sights, old buildings, occasional wildlife and of course lunch at a local pub!

Wasn't sure which side to attempt this from and Ghostgums and I didn't read the hint til later. As it turned out, the gadgets wanted us on the wrong side and we spent a couple of minutes looking for options. There weren't many...
So, back to the other side and as the GPS counted down to 1m, I checked the obvious place and had the container quickly in hand. That's better.
It took longer to get our names in the log and tuck everything back, than it did to find the cache when we were in the right spot.
Cheers Cachedin NQ.

and having a crack at cache diversity in a day ...
looking for a multi, and on the advice of the CO
ventured over here for a look.
got some likely numbers
but came away with naught at the final
thought I gave it a good going over
but didn't want to spend too much time here.
I'll go and have a look at one of the others in town.

Geocaching has taken me on many adventures over the years all over Australia and overseas. It has also introduced me to a brilliant and diverse group of people, many of whom are now close friends.
Today I was lucky enough to be out and about so I targeted this cache.
Multis are usually not my thing, so it wasn't surprising to me to find a lot in my found database that hadn't been logged.
Sorry for the late log, but thanks for adding to the adventure!
Thanks Cachedin NQ (F=3050 H=115) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Having a great time making our way to the Townsville Mega with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37.
We have made it this far and have a couple of days up our sleeves so decided to set up camp for a couple of days and wash off some of the dust. It was an interesting sensation to not be rumbling along the road with the dust in our face, eyes . . . . .
It is always great to learn some of the history of an area or building that you visit. Thanks for doing that here for us with the placing of this cache.

Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4596 and I are making slow progress towards the Mega in Townsvlle. We are having a fantastic time finding caches with a little bit of touristing in between. As we are staying in town for more than a couple of hours, we took the opportunity to look for some solved puzzles, complete some multis and grab any trads we drove past.
Great to learn a little about what we are looking at.
Thanks for the cache.

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
Loving multi caches, we made sure we did this one!
Thanks for placing the cache Cachedin NQ, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

**This Cache:**
This is a well put together multi, the two locations tie into the theme perfectly which is really well done! The first location was amazing too, a grand old building and a pleasure to visit!
Once at Act 2, with the hint in hand it was just a matter of trial and error. Eventually I landed my hand on the little thing!
Thanks!

**Today:**
Day 5 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
Today was laid back, I had made excellent time and only needed to get from Pentland - Townsville! I spent almost the entire day in Charters Towers! I initially only had a couple of caches planned, but I fell in love with the caching and town itself and ended up spending all the time I could until I had to be in Townsville to meet someone at the airport!
Wow, caching in Charters Towers was just fantastic, super high quality hides and a very cool town with lots to see. It was a highlight of my trip!

Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure travelling to the Townsville event in Qld. We found your cache today, 5 April 2022 12:50 pm , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC Cachedin NQ
No luck for us today. Searched for 10 minutes and then searched a little more. Thanks for bringing us here regardless. Checked previous logs to no avail, we would be 99% sure it’s not in place.
Staying in Charters Towers so headed out to grab some caches in the area. First for the day and and after Gathering the information headed to GZ and soon had the cache in hand.

Well hidden in plain site. I like it. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Day 18 of my trip north from Adelaide.
Today was spent caching and sightseeing around Charters Towers. I had picked out the multis, puzzles, wherigos and traditional caches that I was keen to do and picked up a few other opportunistic traditional caches along the way. I also completed the new Lab caches in town.
All in all it was as a very pleasant day, with a cool morning and a relatively mild day, which made things much easier and more enjoyable. In all I managed to find 7 puzzles, 9 multis, 3 wherigos, 13 traditionals and an earthcache for a total of 33 caches for the day (plus the Lab caches). I only had one DNF.
A tidy little multi and hide.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the cache.

Lovely little walk and solve. Got to be sidetracked at the info centre and meet some locals. Such lovely heritage this old gold mining town has. Thanks for the quick tour.
Replaced with a new smaller cache today, changed description a little as the container is different, coords are the same.
I have been keeping an eye on this location and they have just finished the garden. The same replacement container and one tried today are not suitable so I will try a smaller one this week.
Looks like the paving is finished but not all work is done yet, hopefuly they will put rocks back just behind the fence.
Drove past today and the final gz is being paved, disabling until work is done and cache probably replaced
Out and about with BenM70 picking up a few to help secure our 3 2 1 souvenir. Thanks for this informative multi Cachedin NQ
Act 1 was done on a previous reconnaissance mission during a smoko break while performing a job in the city centre. Today Act 2 was completed on a fun outing to collect a few smilies. Twas much ado about nothing when I read through the description indicating I may need to go inside during certain hours. Thanks for the cache. Found out with EatSleepCacheOnline on a cloudy Sunday
Yet another bit of a history lesson in this fine little town. We are house sitting for someone involved with the second location. Neat buildings.

TFTC. We are camped at Macrossan Park for a few days before moving onto a Motorhome Rally in Townsville. We had been out yesterday collecting trads. This morning we decided to try to complete the caches in and around Charters Towers. We fell short but managed to find 11 today , resolved a dnf from last year and found 4 caches with at least 11months or more of unloved. A great day.
Back in town and attempting some of the multi’s. Nice bit of history and a pleasant walk.

Some finders may be shocked by a crude drawing on the log sheet so beware.

Staying a few nights in Charters Towers this morning we visited the library to learn about the archives section to hopefully trace some family history here from the Pioneer days.
Once it was determined that we had to return tomorrow then it was out and about exploring town using your Geocache as part of our tour.

Don't often do a multi but we were interested in walking a bit more of this historic town....what a great place, really enjoyed a short visit. Unfortunately the town walking tour wasn't on at 1.00pm so we have had to move on. Enjoyed a short stop none the less.....it appears that the community are making a real effort to preserve your history....I like that. Thanks Cachedin NQ, you're doing good work here. Maybe you can come and visit NZ and chase down one of our caches.
We're continuing to travel across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter. Today we arrived in town and Pa wanted to visit the Information Centre to see what else is available in town besides caches. ( He still hasn't learned they are the best tour guides!) Anyway that meant we were right next to this cache, so grabbed the information available in Act 1 which enabled us to move on to Act 2.
A nice quick find hidden the way I thought it might be.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy. Once name was added to the log we moved on further up the hill.

Being part of the GC Pirate game and so far from home we were happy to come across a town that had a few caches in it. As multi's are worth more tokens in the game this week we decided to concentrate mainly on those so a nice early start was had and we saw lots of Charters Towers on our tour.
This was another multi we started today that has taken us to a very interesting building that certainly could tell some stories. We didn't stay to listen but just collected the information and headed off to another very interesting building that would also have a lot of stories to tell both happy and sad but for us this ended on a happy note as we located a cache and the log book now contains our name.
Thanks Cached in NQ for the cache.

We were both on a work trip and had a few minutes spare before the first activity kicked off, just enough time to grab a cache.
Off we disappeared to collect the clues needed and then a quick walk to the final where geoP spotted it on approach. A quick sign of the log, replace and a walk back to the info center to start our day's activity.

I've ridden past here a few times in recent weeks and there is not much yard work going on so the cache is back for a return performance.
there is still some yard clean up at the final location so we will give it a few more weeks
Their is some work for the dole gardening at the final location during the week so the cache was removed after some of the family were at play practice, will be offline for a few weeks.

We have been spending a week around Charters Towers and grabbing a few caches while enjoying the city and it's surrounds.
We were very surprised when we came to log this that it had been temporarily disabled the day we found it
There was a man working at the building next door putting some new timber under the window but no one at GZ and no barriers of any kind. All the info we required could be gained very easily (and safely) from the public pavement.
We then found GZ and very quickly found the cache and signed the log. We love visiting old gold mining towns as generally the architecture is quite stunning, and easy to recognise all over Oz
Many thanks for the hide Cachedin NQ[^]

Maybe I got my wires crossed and the CO means that the 'work for the dole' is happening at GZ not WP1 in which case we were very lucky that it was a weekend and no one was working there at all
Traveled out to Charters Towers with Jackylegs44 for a day of caching. With the necessary information acquired at WP 1, we soon had the cache in hand.

#1341 -not keen on multi jump caches but one jump was okay. B headed for the likely location and liked the cache. First time we saw this type was in Ireland 3 years ago. Therefore worthy of a favourite point. Have come across a few since then around the world.
Decided to do the audio driving tour, and tried to grab as many caches along the way. Didn't do too bad, six out of seven.

Oh yes! this was a clever cache. We have done several caches this afternoon, stopping and starting. This is another multi that is full of history.
After working out the final GZ Cat made a quick find of the cache.
Thanks for organising this multi.

Pressure was on for this on for this one as the CO came along for the ride! Fortunately the cache was soon in hand. A very clever hide nicely done. SL TFTC
This was a most enjoyable multi fairly quick and easy puzzle and then a great little cache to finish off! The Reluctant companion is still smirking because he found it while I was still mucking around with the GPS. TNLN TFTC
# 621 After a no cache day yesterday, and being the last few days of school holidays, a special trip out to Charlies Trousers was in order to claim all those caches that we missed last time and all the new ones.
At the first Act, Champs was in the wrong spot, but the little monkey pointed out the error in his way (s she always does) and with a nudge, the location of Act 2 was discovered.
At Act two I read the clue, and the hunt was on for the hide. It didn't take that long to find. I.C.P later told me that I should have worked it out very quickly considering I handed Cachedin the cache container a few weeks ago. Missed that completely ha ha ha
