### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###
----------
Hi there nibby8,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.
- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).
Thanks for your cooperation,

After considerable 'diggings' here at Bristol reef, no cache found today...think it might be missing based on previous DNF's
Looked where coords told me, then widened the search up to 8m from GZ. Louts of good hidey holes but all I found was a discarded shoe..
Picking up caches as they come up on our map today. Always enjoy a good gold mine cache, as we live near Beechworth in NE Victoria. Enjoying our long weekend in St Arnaud so far, always heaps of caches of good quality to find and log. SL at 12.25pm Left: vintage hat pathtag. Took a photo of the gaping hole and the discarded Minnie doll at the top of the mine. #7207 TFTC and bringing us to this interesting site nibby8
Hi there nibby8.
We found your cache **"Bristol reef diggings"** today. (This makes our find count 24289).
We headed to St Arnaud to escape all of the shenanigans happening in metro Melbourne. It was also great to spend another day with 80 Degrees. We had a successful day & found 1 caches & DNF'd 0 .
Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thank you for placing this cache here & adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

Today we again spent the day caching with ian&penny and explored a variety of caches. Some were favourites but most were great in some way. Many thanks to all the owners for their hides. TFTC
After a great couple of nights in the Murray Sunset country to attend the two events there we decided to head to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches around there.
It seems every visit we have to St Arnaud we get taken to a diggings site that we haven't visited before and this trip was no exception. It must have been a wealthy area in it's time.
Unfortunately that time has on passed and it wasn't gold we were hunting for today but the ever elusive plastic box which we are happy to say that we didn't have to work anywhere as hard to find as did the old time miners to find theirs.
Our name was added to the log and everything returned as found.
Thanks Nibbby8 for the cache.

#4105 Took the dodgey eroded track from the Woolpack TB Hotel, but tip toed our way without incident. Mrs BGF discovered the sneaky hide before too long and we checked out the olde mine pit from the early gold rush days which appears to be have been converted to an unofficial landfill site now . Day 6 Leaving St Arnaud area B and B to St Arnaud Campground
The tent is now up and we have had tea. So it's time for just a few more caches. So far today we have done the pipe series, black range road series, the bush wander series and the fire track series plus some stray trads and a couple of multis and puzzles as we passed.
The idea was to leave the B and B then head to Beckwood Nature Park for the challenge trail there and spend the night camping. It turns out i got " side tracked " and cleared every trail in St Arnuad forest out instead. Plus a good number of stray caches on route. It would have been more but i staked a tyre around dusk. quick find.
Came over to the 2019 mega in St Arnaud with Mogni. We where joined by jj52, Aussie M and M plus others at different times over the mega weekend. Many caches where found over the course of the 8 day trip. Targeting multi's on the way there and back plus the challenge trail in Mount Beckworth reserve. The creative trails around St Arnaud where the highlight of the trip.

We are back in St Arnaud for a day of so after the mega event before heading back to Melbourne tomorrow. We drove close to the posted coordinates with a short walk to GZ. Quick find. TFTC
Found this cache on the Victorian Mega weekend with Loci 612 and ZQX. Signed the logbook DSD or Darksidedan.
I love discovering Geocaches, Trackable items and collecting Pathtags. I have added your cache to my growing list of “Found It” logs. I hope that you enjoy Geocaching as much as I do. For me geocaching is a way of life. When I am not Geocaching, I am thinking of Geocaching. I would like to say a very big than you for placing your geocache and for maintaining it for the Geocaching Community. In 2019, I won the right to place a Virtual 2.0 Cache from Geocaching.com, but I have not placed it yet. I am just trying to find somewhere that is worthy of a Virtual Cache.
Here is a little information about me. I have been geocaching since 2015. At the time of finding this cache I have over 5600 finds plus 340 hides. I am the creator of the “Duck Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Place for the Australian Capital Territory in the State Vs State - Battle of the Lab Caches at the OzGeoMuster - The Gong Mega 2019 in Wollongong, Australia.
Now let’s talk Pathtags. Currently I have over 4600 Pathtags in my collection plus about 500 Etagz. I currently have two of my own Pathtags (45762 & 46950) with another one in the works.

After an exhausting weekend at the Mega we had a day off today before taking the shop back to Geostuff HQ in the lovely Barossa tomorrow! We ventured out to do some caching with hevwalker. A quick find here today. TFTC
Enjoyed cruising through the bush and checking out the mining heritage. After 3 BIG days at the MEGA I was keen to find these too. TFTC
Out and about caching as Capital Crunchers with Joolay barb2e and Kittykatch during the St Arnaud Mega event. This morning we decided to target the FBT and BW trails but gathered some along the way, this being one of them Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache for us to enjoy nibby8. SL
Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

It's that time of the year again, Victorian Mega time, so its off to St Arnaud for myself and the ladies of FurfacesLL. A long road trip ahead, heading off Friday morning and getting home late Monday night and a fun filled weekend. We found many caches of all kinds of variety.. Trads, Multis, Puzzles, EC's, Virtuals, Letterboxes, Wherigos, Events, Cito's and of course, the Mega itself. We enjoyed the weekend and there sure are some unique caches here in St Arnaud, we still have plenty left to collect, so may need to coordinate another trip this way some time.
Sunday is here, after a massive day yesterday doing the StARS trails, the Challenge trails, the CITO, Events and Lab caches. Today we decided to head out to try some of the Fire Trail trails and we were not disappointed.
Another big hole ! Sure are alot around here, and not filled in too, makes for interesting viewing.
Thanks for the hide nibby8 And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another amazing trip away

Found on the trails.
Twelve months ago as we finished the Parkville Mega we were advised by someone that the next Victorian Mega event would be held in Saint Arnold. Somebody else told us that the Mega event would be held in Saint Arnood. And then another said that Saint Arned was the Mega event venue. Who should I believe? Struggling to understand the English language at the best of time. Freddo speaks two languages, Australian and Bad English.
Move forward a year. There is a cluster of events, including a MEGA event, at this town called St Arnaud burning a hole in my GPSr. The big white Pay Hero is loaded with GPSr, TOTT and camping gear and we headed east with a collaboration of like minded South Australian colleagues. DavidWazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, freddo and Gridge98 make team DEFF98.
Thursday: 5am event at a bakery in North Adelaide. The bed wetter team meets and says that this is way too early. Travel 500km east for the Thursday evening event. Freddo gets a prize. I am no mug. Camping in the bush under the stars.
Friday: Up early and headed out on the trails. And then back to our campground for a CITO! I am sure we did not make that much mess last night. More trails and 200 caches find for the day including a cluster of caches where freddo left DNA. More bush camping after a great meal in the Sporting Club.
Saturday: Up early for an event. Who puts an event on at 8am. Damn South Australians that’s who. After the event it was back on the trails and the Pay Hero is getting dustier and dustier. Found some awesome caches. Freddo the metallurgist was very impressed with the welding. Quality fabrication. And then another CITO. This time at the dump. Plenty of rubbish here. Some of it good stuff. Can I take some home? And finally a giant queue for a free meal. Nothing attracts a crowd like a free meal. The moment of the evening was receiving a Hall of Fame nomination. That prize is going straight to the pool room.
Sunday: Another night camping in the bush. Some fabulous night caches walks were undertaken. Night caching is a special form of entertainment. We spent the day cruising around picking up the left over unfound caches and meeting heaps of new friends. Boycotted the GIFF event since it did not show the freddo film “Cache Confusion” https://vimeo.com/372568752. One minute and forty four seconds of your life you won’t get back. A quick speech and it was back on the road for home. Well Horsham. More camping. This time by a river.
Monday: Caches around Horsham and following the Duke’s Highway back to Adelaide. Time for a shower for this smelly geocacher. An exhausted chocolate frog slept well.
We came, we cached, we ate, we slept; repeat for five days of fun and dust.
Easter 2020 sees South Australia hosting the next Easter big MEGA event, GeoVenture 2020 at Millicent. GC82DAN. Check it out. We would love to see you there.

Found on the last day of the Mega.
It is so hard to imagine the toil involved with pick and shovel so long ago to leave these scars so vivid today. [:o]
Kind of makes you realise just how easy we have it as we flip about nowadays playing with tupperware in the bush.
I couldn't feel richer.

We teamed up with Rapidlywild and headed down from Canberra for another Geocaching Victoria Mega. We arrived at our accommodation in Bendigo on Friday afternoon / evening and checked out a few caches in the area before retiring for the evening. On Saturday morning, we had a pleasant drive across to St Arnaud, arriving at the event as the opening ceremony was wrapping up, and the lab caches were released, so we joined the frenzy with the masses solving the cleverly constructed lab caches.
Sunday, day two of our mega weekend we headed over to St Arnaud to tackle some of the fire trails, and what ever else we came across along the way.
More holes around this area, there sure are quite a few.

Found on day four of my St. Arnaud Mega event adventure and after knocking off all of the lab caches on offer, it was time to go grab some physical ones!
Made the quick grab while collecting the caches in this section of scrub. More interesting gold mining history here

Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the 2019 Victorian Mega event. The weekend was spent primarily with e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98 as we geocached around the vicinity of St Arnaud. All of the events and CITOs were attended, we completed the available adventure labs and lab caches available at the showgrounds, many of the creative trails were gasped at their construction, and interesting puzzles were solved and collected during the weekend.
We all left on Thursday in two separate cars, and met up at the evening event, before finding a camp spot for the night in a very CITO location. On Friday, we targeted the StARS (St Arnaud Ramble Series) and the higher quality, well-constructed geocaches that were famous here in St Arnaud, and got lucky with the 2019 published series that we managed to snag FTFs on. Sunday had us continuing to find the other sets of high-quality caches around the neighbouring town parks, the challenge series, before spending a few hours at geocaching HQ participating in the labs that had been published. The event was also great to see some of the South Australians honoured with geocaching life awards (in amongst everyone on the list). Our final day, Sunday, had us do a big loop finishing off our geocache collection, driving all the way out to Kooreh and around via Stuart Mill, walking the conservation park at Mount Gowar, and finishing off at the GIFF event. A massive weekend that turned out to be a great mega! Thanks to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. The variety between the local high-quality caches, the new series placed by the mega team, and those who needed to be around for the labs and main centre fielding questions was appreciated immensely.
Today with our final day in St Arnaud, we went east and south focusing on some of the *Original Road* series, and the various geocaches that were placed along these routes. Once we did a loop through Stuart Mill, we did a final drive around the town vicinity finding caches, including this one. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache. The logbook was signed as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo, and gridge98).
Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event. On Day 1, e.gregory1, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday morning, straight after the Earlybirds event in North Adelaide. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). On Days 2-4 we met up with Freddo and Davidwazza. As a group we systematically completed each of the many series around St Arnaud and found all other caches along the way, signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, Featherwaite and gridge98), as well as attending the events and completing the Lab caches. After the Mega, e.gregory1 and I headed back to Adelaide camping out in Little Desert NP overnight. On Day 5 we had intended picking up caches around Mundulla and Mount Monster but a last minute change of plans saw us head into Ngarkat CP instead, for a solid drive and a few extra rewarding cache finds. Many thanks to all the cache owners for placing the huge variety of caches around St Arnaud and to all those who organised the Mega and the fantastic weekend away. Thanks for the cache nibby8!
Up in St Arnauds for the Mega and looking forward to picking up the caches around.
Will be signed Capital crunchers. Found with Kittykatch, Barb2e and Smittengranny.

This morning woke up and set off to find some more caches and clean up the last few in the town, stopped by this cache for a quick find
What a big trip this was! I headed over to St Arnaud for the 2019 Victorian mega with e.gregory1, Davidwazza, Featherwaite and Freddo for the long weekend.
The weekend was filled with a lot of finds ranging in puzzles, a few events and some very well constructed hides around the area.
Day 1: I headed over with e.gregory1 and featherwaite, with the aim to collect some unfound LGAs for the guys, with only a 500km drive to the mega from home we added an extra 450km to the trip by going over to Bendigo and further south exploring some regional towns, overall we added an extra 6 LGAs with only 18 finds for the day. Was great to see some of the interesting little towns and what they had to offer for future visits.
Day 2: As a group we hit the trails in St Arnaud as a group signing the logbooks as DEFF98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Freddo, featherwaite and gridge98) to save a lot of room in the logbook. We started off with the geoart Stars and thought it would take most of the day, as we finished it in 2.5 hours we were a bit surprised so hit the well constructed caches in the south of the town in the bush throwing a CITO in the mix. All the caches were amazing and something you don’t see anywhere else. Adding in 15 FTFs along the way with: everlasting, crank1 and Pwola. The evening settled in and we headed into town for a buffet dinner and a catch up with some familiar faces.
Day 3:
After attending the GV2020 event for the morning we set off to hit the last of the trails left in town of the metal containers, followed by the challenges for the mega as well as quite a few trads around the back roads. We ended the day by having a go at the lab caches at the mega then off to the CITO. I don't think I have ever seen so mant people at a tip before. Topped off the day with an evening event.
Day 4: By today the town was almost cleaned out and only a few caches to find, so we did the last few caches within a rough 15km radius driving around finding the odd cache here and there. The GIFF was finished off the mega so we decided to head to Horsham for the evening.
Day 5: After leaving our camp site for the morning, we cached for the morning around Horsham collecting a few grads and a well earned swim. Then made the long drive back home to Adelaide.
Thanks to all the COs for their cache placements and the Geocaching Victoria crew for organising a fantastic weekend away.

Driving around the area picking up random caches while at the Mega event found quickly signed and replaced...TFTC
This morning's activity started out with another list of caches around St Arnaud to be found with ilook4geo. It was a really good run and we found so many well constructed caches that were related to their titles, as well as others that were simply well hidden. It meant we went for a wander by car along bush tracks and then many involved some walking through the scrub as well. This one was a nice easy find. Thanks go to nibby8 for placing this cache and maintaining it.
Had a great time cruising through the bush today with goingplaces2 , while finding caches as well of course. Found a lot of fun caches, signed the logs and replaced all the containers as found for the next cachers. This was one of the caches we found. TFTC.
Staying in Maryborough with family and travelling to the MEGA each day. Taking a different route each day. Finished off the Labs and then aimed to complete our solved puzzles and near-by caches.
Pleasant walk through the bush including a near-by cache.

Day two of the St. Arnard Mega event had us looking for this cache.
I had a bit of time to fill in before heading to the CITO event so I headed to this area.
Nicely rutted track greeted me on the way in but it wasn't a problem.
Arrived at GZ and made a quick find.

This cache took us on a brief walk, and we were interested in seeing the mine. Thanks nibby8. Pity we didn't stumble on any nuggets whilst here.
**This Cache:**
DSD spotted the mine whilst we found the cache, so after signing we wandered over to join him. Woah that is cool! A shame it was full of rubbish, someone has decided to dump junk in it.... we need a CITO!
Thanks

Day 2 of the St. Arnaud mega with DSD and ZQX!

It was a long day with the first find at 8am and the last one just before 10pm. Not a single DNF was had and we smashed every goal

Then another string of just nearest to nearest.

TFTC. We are in St Arnaud for the 10 months to the Mega event. We are staying in Town for a few days and had plans to do as many caches as we could in the area. St Arnaud has so many quality caches, it is hard to know where to start. This morning in the company of Bushfire we set out to complete the Loop Track, attend the event and then in the afternoon tackle the Bush Meander series. Along the way we would collect the odd coupl as we came close. We had a great day 43 caches and no DNF’s. Thanks to nibby8. FUF009 and Tyr’dandcrancky for their days adventures.
Let’s just say that I broke the rules while at St Arnaurd and found a lot more caches than the doctor currently allows. I’ve being so good for so long now that I feel a breakout is sometimes allowed. What better a place than St Arnaurd to do so? Thanks so much for placing this cache, I enjoyed seeing the diggings here nibby8

Today our target was to cache our way to St. Arnaud and do the Bush Wander and Out & About series. Off course there would always be a few others whilst passing. [8)]
Wowser, they sure went after it here. Must have been very profittable. We found the cache also.

Another interesting place to visit and we did tread carefully. I see the locals have discovered it as a useful place to dump their rubbish. A shame that.

A few days off so BettyBoo3747 and I decided to head to St Arnaud.
Day four, our last day... We lounged around then checked out of the caravan park.
We did a last few caches just west of town before heading for home.
A great spot. We spent some time looking around at all the old shafts and bits of gear lying around.

Google is not my friend anymore due to having my email address locked last Wednesday night and I still have not got it back as yet.
This caused me a lot of hassles during my caching trip to St Arnaud last weekend by not receiving any notifications of new caches and having to rely on my mates and some of them had problems with the Telstra coverage but we got there in the end.
Owing to my problems I am now four days behind in my logging so it will a generic log for the most part but I have noted which ones I will give F.P.’s.
It is interesting to note the number of geocaching folk who head up to St Arnaud to attend this weekend seems to increase in numbers each year and how far away they have to go for accommodation thus the reason I book ahead each year.
Well the new caches have all been published and all the FTF's gone so now we can enjoy the bush in a more peaceful way. Again I am caching with my good friends the SV's and after lunch we were joined by au.fait. On arrival we are always in awe of what we will find at GZ here at St Arnaud as it is my old saying "Expect the unexpected". Again I was not disappointed.

Found with pprass, I had been hearing about the quality of caches in the St Arnaud area so I arranged to meet up with pprass for a couple of days caching, We were not dissapointed with the caches we found in the area. Certainlly lots of signs of mining in this area. Thanks nibby8 for the cache.
Dont you love it when you find a nice lovely road only a few meters from the GZ AFTER your clamber across the creek because you didnt realise said road was there. This has happened to me more than a few times over the years. Good fun and good exercise. Cache was found easily, however the log is soaked and will need replacing in the near future. Thanks for showing us this little bit of history.
While in St Arnaud for the weekend , we travelled around the area picking up as many unfound caches as we could before heading to the picnic dinner event. Thankful for a sunny day we enjoyed the historic sites that many of the caches brought us to as well as the scenic Aussie bushland. The Triton was able to negotiate the track without any troubles. An interesting spot.
