We were unable to find the original cache on a previous visit, and unfortunately fared no better with the replacement cache today.
Went with Stuart Nel1 and tkiragu_94 to try find this one on a hot and sunny day. it was nice and quiet, so we were able to have a decent look around. Just couldn't find it. Either we are looking in the wrong place or just are blind, or the trees are magnetic and it is hidden in them :p

Found during a nice afternoon hunt in Invercargill. The weather changed from sun to rain.
I had time to explore the city, so I looked around and finded a few caches.

Well found but has been muddled badly. Put it in a tree close to where we found it. TFTC

Came in from the Lindisfarne St side, and after following the clue and the GPS had a fairly good hunt around in the leaf litter - but alas no cache.
found the cache, (lid and log only) SL TFTC. as from previous logs it need the base of the container.
Was in the area on a very hot southland day to attend a nearby challenge and get some more caches as well. TFTC Found with wethreefurdices,
Found the lid in the open away from GZ and the log book stuffed into a tree. Placed both back at GZ but they will need maintenance as content will be exposed to adverse weather. TFTC
Many Thanks for all the caches and maintaining them, been a great trip down south

Cache container is missing and log book seems to have been drawn on needs repairs
10 of 18 today with ingidayna on a mission to get 9 different cache types in one day (and some extras). Found just the lid and logbook, so will need maintenance or will get wet next time it rains. A quick easy find. TFTC
Took my grandchildren geocaching and they were so excited to find a little kiwi and a bean in this cache. My grandson enjoyed playing with the kiwi while I filled in the log, but was very good and we put it back in the container. I will make sure that I have exchanges another time as that would have added to the fun.
Hauled my youngest bro out on another caching adventure tonight, and grabbed this cache. The home of Southland footy - how could we resist? A good quick find, thanks to bro. Swapped the TB for a bean, signed log and were on our way. No muggles in sight, and the sun was still high. Thanks for the cache, markmexted. Enjoyed the chase. Cheers!
Phoned it with Ice Cream Sandwich and a little help from a co-opted in canine not much bigger than the cache.
Found just before Xmas, while seeing family. Mr C has played here as a young Boy, but not on the new turf TFTC.

On a gentle bike ride around town on a fine but windy evening. Anazing how much shelter the hedge provides.
Got to GZ easily enough, but the hide seemed rather random, and required a fair amount of luck to find Cheers Gav
One of several in a good thick run of caches heading north in the city, found with RexTrex, Sol de Lune, Fitzy and Zsazsa7. Thanks markmexted.
Walked over from Tay St to do the deed. Swiftly scored. (pun intended)
Thanks markmexted.
Thanks markmexted.
A day to cache around the Invercargil area. Decided to head down this way and work our way back towards and into town. This was an interesting spot to visit, so glad we made the effort. It was another windy day, but that wasn't going to stop us. Cache was found after a quick search, no problems with it.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen, fitzy_1965 and Rextrex (local NZer) on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to see more of the South island.

5620 + 591 = 6211. Day 5 of my week long visit to the New Zealand South Island for the NZ Mega 2012 event along with Sol de Lune, Zsazsa7, Winglen and RexTrex.
Today we drove south from Invercargill to Lands End in order to cache back northwards. We parked near this cache and walked in - only to find the closer carpark ! Typical ! A quick find at GZ. Thanks again markmexted !
TNLN – TFTC !!

A shared find with my Aussie caching mates Winglen, Zsazsa7, Sol de Lune and Fitzy-1965 as a part of the NZMEGA2012 experience and our subsequent tour.
John Turnbull Thomson was a name I grew up amongst when I lived in Invercargill, so it is pleasing to see this cache recalling his generosity. Pity his name is spelled incorrectly though.
Thanks MarkM for the cache and this insight into southern football.

#242 Found it on a wet wet day whilst out with the dogs. Thanks for the Cache Markmexted! Looking forward to your next hide!
#999 and out picking up a last couple of caches before I hit #1000 at NZMega this weekend. Mum came with me on this rainy day, but this time she stayed in the car. Wet feet apparently.....softy! I did find make the discovery that wearing gumboots on wet days definitely makes cache-hunting more pleasant.
A quick find and on the brink of a biggy now. Bring on Mega!

Yep. 2TF awsome. Found at 1125 Wed. The young socer players were covering the terf, must have been a primary school coaching sesion. Located the cache usung the back entry as not to arouse suspicains from the field (of a adult going through the hedge hole). Good spot and box. PS My spelling here is terrible. TFTC and history.
Come here often for the kids' touch games! No games today though so good day for searching under trees!
