Third and final find for today - for some reason we walked past this first on entry, but circled back after to make a quick find. Loved the hint in particular - cute. Of all the years walking past this area, its awesome to take a slight detour and end up in a new spot. I guess this is beauty of geocaching. When we spied the cache, I half thought I should have brought a TotT with me but found a natural one inconspicuously positioned in arms reach - perfect! Mechanics of this hide were awesome Signed log and then onto lunch.
This was a great one! Saw a couple of these ones with lots of Favourites out here and also some green bushland on the map so made a plan to get them.Out caching with Cherryfromtheblock today after a rainy morning and a bit of a wet start it ended up being a really nice and fruitful caching day.Weirdos spotted: noneSnacks: Tamano sushi seaweed and avocado salad for lunch which was awesome.Have a well deserved FP from me today. TFTC
Winter brings some challenges, e.g. flu or cold symptoms. Had to depart work for the afternoon. Best to breathe in fresh air and drink lots of water. After Lake Parramatta, lets try this area. Handy find, great to spot! Another favourite point. TFTC Rainbow Spirit
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Rainbow Spirit! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. OCW morty8888 around Northmead today. I got lucky here as I spotted the cache, which wasn't positioned as it should be, within a few seconds. Have advised the CO that a visit might be in order. TFTC Rainbow Spiriit. Tape measure
Great day wandering around the lakes and surrounds today. This was a very fun one. Ive not found one like this before. Tftc!
Until I can get to it and do some maintenance on it I will have to disable it, RS.
Had a day of rest and looked for some high FP caches. Headed here and wandered in looking for a geotlail but didn't spot one so off I went towards GZ. Got there, searched low and high. Aha! Have seen these types before. Grabbed a natural TOTT and soon had the CIH and signed. Have another FP and TFTC!
Wow! What a cool cache! Loved the construction and had a lot of fun doing it. Definite FP. Thank you Rainbow Spirit
Today I ventured out towards Carlingford to find a few caches with a friend before work.
This was the first one of the day. I parked on the nearby street and found a trailhead and walked along it till I got to the minimum distance. From there I found a suitable route to bushbash in, climbing over some logs and rocks and soon I quickly found the camouflaged cache. We retrieved a ToTT and got the container within several attempts. Signed the log, and off we went. LOVED IT, very creative, a FP from me. Thanks!

An afternoon of Covid safe caching in my own LGA. Not many traditionals left, only a few multi's and many hard-to-solve unknown caches.
After a bit of bush bashing I soon spotted the camouflaged cache. I measured up the possibilities how to get hold of the cache. But with some natural TOTT it was easy and soon I had my name written on the log sheet.

Found on the 5k Lockdown Project. This one gets a favourite, great idea for a cache, plus we saw an echidna! TFTC
My 11yr old son worked out how to access this one! He said it was the most exciting one ever
Quick find while in the area. Like the ingenuity in the cache container. TFTC Rainbow Spirit. The 4Rods.
This was a fun cache! The favorite points drew myself and FelicityID in. She spotted it as soon as we arrived and my spider stick came in handy. I always love creative cache containers, well done!
Once we spotted the cache we found a TOTT. Overcomplicated it until we had CIH. Neat! TFTC
Appropriate name and good hint. Creative Cache. Co-ords were spot on.
A nice walk through that area looking for Donohue's Cave after trying to find out why North Rocks is called North Rocks ? I may have found it !
https://historyandheritage.cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au/blog/2016/10/20/north-rocks-new-south-wales
"The North Rocks landscape consisted early in its history of ... rugged bushlands and caves. These provided the perfect environment for the bushrangers ... to hide. The most famous local bushrangers were John Donohoe – also known as “Bold Jack Donohue” and the Wild Colonial Boy. These men struck fear into the local population and gained notoriety in the years between 1826-1830. The caves in the area also became a place where many illicit stills were built, making alcoholic cider from the locally grown fruit. The rewards for informing on a distiller were generous. ‘Rewards to free men of stock or cash or a full pardon to convicts helped to eventually eliminate most illicit stills’."
TFTC. All in good working order. Fav point for effort and not being a mint tin !!

As there appears to be nothing wrong with this cache, and it has had a number of finds, some of which say all is well with the cache, I don't think it needs any maintenance.
I was taking advantage of this beautiful weather while I was out on the road for work and decided to stop by here and go for a nice walk and collect some smilies Found the other nearby cache and then grabbed this one, Came out covered in spiderwebs and dirtied my white shoes haha. TFTC
Found with Bluewattle Junior and Bluewattle Mini, signed log as BW, BWM and BWJ. First creek crossing for the day FTTC. Favourite point awarded for uniquiness
Find #: 2,347
Companions: None
Muggles: None
Weather: Lovely autumn morning
Cache condition: Good
I decided to go for a jog 'n cache in the area, and this was my first stop. I parked on the nearby road and headed in, then went bush until I got to GZ. It took a little while to spot the container, and then a lottle while to retrieve it, struggling with a natural tool for some time until the mechanism eventually worked - phew! I signed the log then let the mechanism reverse. Thanks, fun cache.

Yay I found it!! No goodies just a measuring tape with a capsule on the end with a note!! It’s cool
Found it, accidentally dropped it, jumped on WanderingDude41’s back to tie it back on, it falls, put it back on again, it falls, we do this 2 more times and it finally stays. TFTC
Hi RS, sorry this one needs to be secured properly. We accidentally dropped it a couple of times but enjoyed the challenge. Very creative. Cheers
After a successful find on the other nearby cache I followed the trail a bit further along until the GPSr beeped and let me know I was nearing this target. I saw it was a bit further off the trail than the last cache, so I leaned my bicycle against a tree a few metres from the trail and then followed the arrow on the GPSr until I was within a 10-metre radius of the hide.
I have seen several hides of this kind -- well, at least that is what I had in mind when I read the name and thought about the options around here. A marvellous idea and an ingenious way of hiding a cache. The first one like this that I found was near Port Macquarie.
Well, it's one thing to have an idea about what one is looking for; however, making the find is sometimes a little bit more tricky. It definitely took me a few minutes to see the camo -- exactly as I had imagined it. But I needed a sharp eye to spot it.
Once I had my quarry in sight I cast about for a suitable tool to retrieve the container. There was a multitude of options to choose from. Thus, the container retrieved and secured so that it didn't escape again, I extracted the log sheet for signing.
Once the legalities had been completed I returned the scroll to its container, and then made sure the container was hidden as I had found it. Fun cache in a lovely setting, and a clever execution of such a neat idea for hiding a cache. Just loved it.

Was doing some bush regen in the area and decided to find this one. Have done a few like this but with the gps lagging behind me I investigated something else until a lorikeet came out. Favourite for a beautiful spot and unique cache. Tftc
After working this morning i headed out this way to pick up a quick cache.
I parked up from the GZ i headed in along a path that required the least bush bashing.
You came up with the perfect name for this cache.
I had seen a video of a cache like this one and thought it would be a good type to make myself but this is the first time ive seen one out in the wild.
A nice change from your average mint tin cache.
Worth a favourite point.
Thanks.

Well that was different!
Arrived at GZ on the way home after a very hot day at comp tennis, but a win! Not much energy left.
Got out of the geomobile, something felt odd underfoot. Looked down, uh oh, the sole of my geocaching shoes is coming off. They have travelled so far with me but I guess this is their last caching expedition.
I therefore took the shortest route cross country from the road to GZ. Had to tread carefully due to the shoes and the fear of Joe Blakes in the leaf litter. Made it, looked around, found it, never seen anything like that before!
So how'm I gonna get that? No energy.
I found a natural tool and fiddled around, how do you do this?
Suddenly the cache was coming towards me! Don't know how that happened but I was able to reach the log and sign it!
Back to the geomobile and driving home ......... nearly crashed, a large brown spider was crawling across my neck!!!
Fortunately I've had experience with large spiders in the cabin as I drive! Squashed it, drove on!
Yep it was all very different!
TFTC # 3089, streak still alive!

Certainly the highlight of the day. I got the hint when Anominous Sign read it out loud on the way to GZ. Although we thought maybe we misunderstood it. p1ccolo spotted it soon after arriving at GZ, then came the fun part. We measured it at 3.9 and added our names on the log before letting it go. Thanks for the cache. Definitely worthy of a favourite!
This one was fun to retrieve. Great title and thanks for your effort in maintaining this cache!
We were doing the trail around the lake today and decided to detour to this cache due to the high number of favourites. We may have let it down, but it sure didn't let us down!
As we approached, I was trying to figure out how the clue could relate to a terrain 2 cache. When I saw it, I quickly cached on ;-p This one ended up being my favourite of the day! I love a well thought out and engineered hide and I've never seen one like this before.
Thanks for setting it up!

It was great it was easy to find but hard to get. I had great fun with this geocache
A bit of a challenge this one but loved it. Spotted cache after a short time at GZ but it took me a while to find the correct natural tool to retrieve. SL TFTC
Excellent. Took a while to find then is had trouble getting hold of it.finally did it.gets a favourite from me.
I've replaced the 'contraption', the last one was attached to a non native tree, and it was cut down by some bush regenerators, it is now in a native tree.

I replaced cache in a slightly different spot.

Found it and logged but it does need maintainance as the tree is chopped up! Cache is in the pile of tree bits on otherside of GZ. Unfortunate as the remains of the cache looked like it would have been fun to do!
