Thanks for organising these great caches and puzzles. We are enjoying exploring the area. Thanks for the cache drawp.
On the road with NZ_B, graciesGPSfun and Nosynel. Nice to remember these young men who gave their lives in war. Tftc.

On the way back to Duntroon for a sleep after a long day on the A2O.
Turns out there wasn't much sleeping done as gale force winds smashed the tent about most of the night.

Have driven past these lovely trees with their sad stories so many times oblivious... thank you for placing the caches and thank you to Spoonz2 too
I don’t often drive this stretch of road, so today was a good chance to collect this cluster of the Oaks. It was getting hotter and hotter as we drove inland- beautiful day. Thanks again for placing. Found with Flumsy2.
Away in the Geocamper on a TMGT mission around the lower South Island. Mrs S found this one, can't believe how much traffic uses this road. You would think a rural road would be quiet.
Thanks for another smilie drawp.

Day 12 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today's plan was to drive from Timaru down to Dunedin, following the coast but with plenty of side trips to get caches targeted as per above. I have been so lucky to have dry conditions my whole trip so far, with the sun really putting in an effort to convince me it wasn't winter! I didn't mind the chilly starts knowing that the rest of the day was going to be great caching conditions.
Having driven a ways to get to a TMGT cache, this cache was one I stopped at to break up my drive back towards SH1. Parking up on the side of the road, I was able to walk over to GZ to conduct my search. I had no problems finding the cache, and there were no issues with either it or the log so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found and I was on my way again.
Thanks for placing this Cache.

Day 2 of StreetWalkerNZ and my long weekend in and around Oamaru. Today we want to polish off the remaining unfound Mighty Oak caches, as well as bike some more of the A2O series.
One of the advantages of caching with another person - one can find the cache while the other gathers the information . A nice quick find. TFTC.

Driving back from Oamaru to Twizel with Aussie Pete. Had a bit of free time so we did a few caches on the way back. TFTC
Down from Auckland to claim the last 2 Geotour caches and to pick up a heap of others for a challenge I’m working on. Not only that, I’m working towards my 8000th cache, oh where will it land I wonder??
When I pulled up here I looked at the map on the cache page and if you zoom in the cache appears to be on the RH side of the road looking north! So that's where I started my search. All that prickly stuff there was ginving me a head ache and a loss of blood and after 10 mins searching, I was cursing the C.O for having the cache in such a stupid location!
Just when I was about to give up I happened to look across the road, what do I see? An X or a cross, Oak tree.... OMG, why didn't I read the cache description properly! So across the road I went and found the cache straight away! How about that eh!

Enjoying a day around about Oamaru with NZ Bozzy picking up a few smiles and visiting places we hadn’t made it too previously

Thanks now I know what I need to collect the puzzle cache relating to this cache I have taken a photo. The Oak trees are easy to see and always a little place to park beside them.
This is day four of a ten day trip down to Dunedin and back to move my daughter to Dunedin so she can get her master’s degree at Otago University.
I am now on the road heading north. I don’t need to make too many miles, so I can concentrate on a few caches.
I am on my way to get a divine point nearby, so I stopped to get this cache. TFTC.

Had to stop along this road to log a dot day cache. All is well with this cache. TFTC drawp
99% sure we got this cache earlier today. Having a few beers now, logging them, trying to remember our journey!
Today with my 4x4 and not my longer motorhome which I have driven my here many times I was able to stop. Tftc
Another in the series we are trying to find while here in the area. Bit slower day today but still hope for a few more smiles as we drive round the district with Ruru_NZ and DSI.
Out grabbing some caches with Di Morgan on Day 2 of the Oamaru Geofest. This one had me on the wrong side of the road but eventually found it.
Thanks drawp for placing the cache for us to find.

We came out here to get the challenge caches that were placed for the geofest and as we were told about the mighty oaks series at the festival quiz we resolved to visit some and pay our respects. Second find in this series. By now rain is sprinkling, not too bad but we didn't hang around and on our way again. Thanks for the cache, great idea for a series.
In Oamaru for the Geofest.
Day #1 out and about with Gadget169 and sirbennis.
After finding a majority of the caches along and by Seven Mile Road we then made our way back down Georgetown-Pukeuri Road. Nice quick find and information gathered. TFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)… Our journey to the bottom of the South Island has been almost two years in the planning. We were determined to make it to Oamaru Geofest. We decided to also factor in completing a couple of missions (JASMER and Virtual challenges), and the wheels started turning...
Day Five: Oamaru Geofest
We decided to spend our morning in the north, around the Top Hat series. There were so many hides in this area. Today was going to be about piling on numbers... Gap and I worked out a system that helped to move things along, and it great that most hides were in good order and in play. Most caches were quick finds... A quick find. TFTC.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code. .

Down with kotukuSI to attend the Oamaru GeoFest. We had a plan to hunt down a few Mighty Oaks today. Such a fantastic reason to place a trail of caches. We managed to get quite a few Oaks today and will complete the balance over the weekend.
Thank goodness we still managed to CCC - Coffee (at Kurow), chat most of the way and cache a goodly number.
It was fortuitous to meet drawp at our second Mighty Oak and could thank him in person for placing this cool trail.

First find today out with Creek Rd girls and salvation army hippo 2010 and court 199
We arrived in Oamaru last night with the intention of finding as many of our solved puzzles as we could in the couple of days we had here. Today's target was the Mighty Oaks series, and I do not think we truly understood the distances we would be needing to cover to pick these all up. We had found just a handful of these (3?) a few years ago on a fleeting one day trip from Rakaia to Moeraki and back, and were keen to complete this series.
Most of the caches were easy finds with the hints, and at each one we carefully worked out and recorded the numbers for the Bonus caches, which were our main targets. Thanks for setting up this series. These Mighty Oaks make great memorials for so many local fallen soldiers. We appreciate the way we needed to take note of (and therefore pay our respects to) each soldier's individual name and details as a means to getting the numbers for the puzzle caches.
Second cache of the day, and all good here.

DNF on a lovely Sunday's drive in the country. Not a great place to park here. Ran out of time to have a decent look. TFTC.
The grass was quite long and thick around the posts. Nothing to be found around the base of the tree.
Went a roadtrip today to reach my goal of 1,000 before the new year. With a muggle we put a pin in the map (Duntroon) so off we went, as we needed to meet out goal didn't start caching till we reached Oamaru. Although it wasn't the ideal weather we have great fun and at several of the stops along the way decided to get thermos and choc bickies out.
The first of many on this series. Really enjoyed it.

The plan was hatched a few years ago now and it has been a standing weekend away with a few of us mad keen cachers. This trip was made up of Karma Reprint, Team_Gaters and me (TheWanglers). We couldn't use a previous anagram to sign the logs as one member was in Aussie. So we had to come up with another... Hmm, KiTT? We decided on KiTT but after signing the first few logs something KR mentioned took a while for me to sink in and I didn't really take on board until the next time I signed the log. "Hey, the double 'TT' looks like Pi!". Oh, that's what KR said! So we signed the log this trip as KaTT pronounced 'Kapai'! And the trip was kapai!!! We had an epic weekend starting with a detour to Peel Forrest for a few FTFs, stopped in Omaru, thrashed Dunedin and detoured to Port Charmers for a FTF and then back to Pleasant Point and Peel Forrest to finish off the weekend with more FTFs. We got home to our families at a respectable hour after clocking up just over 1100km!
We had a few milestones we really wanted to crack. My 4000th, TG's 5000th and KR's 10,000th. We cracked my and KR's goal and got really close for TG. It really is about the numbers. This trip was awesome as it has given me some ideas
Quick stop and grab.
Thanks for the cache.

Show weekend and a Road Trip to Dunedin with 'The Boys'....Karma Reprint & TheWanglers. Initially came up with the acronym KiTT but on seeing the TT looked like a Pi symbol we quickly changed to Ka(Pi) (ie. Kapai)....and a fantastic weekend it was. 3 days, 1100km, a heap of caches and great fun.
Quick find and sign whilst heading towards Oamaru for lunch. Cheers.

Headed down south with C&D and 11HPG11 for the CHCH Mega as part of the HOAC team, and decided that a Mega road trip/Mega Mission was the right thing to do. After a great day caching from Dunedin to Omarama we manged to get a few hours sleep before the big day 2 started.
Day 2 was the start of a ambitious plan to try and find as many caches as possible in one day! To maximise our chances of a big number we decided a 24 hour caching day was the only way to go. What an epic day, and some great moments too. The rough idea was to cache from Omarama to Oamaru, and then head north towards Christchurch. A huge thanks to everyone for the cache placments, and I apologise for the copy and past logs.
Find #230 for the day.

This was the start of a MEGA caching weekend in the company of good caching friends. In the company of both HKCB & 11HPG11 this was going to be another memorable caching road trip for many reasons.
This is the mission that we had set ourselves up for several months back. It was HKCB's idea, I was just dumb enough to think it was a challenge and I'd be up for it, 11HPG11 was silly enough to come along for the ride once we confirmed a spare seat (Nova Lightening pulled out for family reasons).
We were going to try to beat the NZ one day record in New Zealand (it would have been easier with 4 people), so after 2.5hrs sleep after a good feed at Omarama we were ready to go. This was the number two hundred and thirty second on what was to be an epic day with what amounted to 401 caches collected for the day and about 38 DNF's. We managed this with 10minutes to spare but by this time we were done for and still had to drive back to Kaiapoi. All in all an epic days caching with good friends and something I don't think any of us will repeat in a hurry.
All in all it was going to be a big day with a number of challenges, great scenery, and of course great company. Fantastic driving along and up here as the landscape was so different from what we are used to back in the Waikato. One good thing about backroads being that we could continue our neferious activites without being disturbed by muggles.
Nice quick find here without any issues .
thanks for the placement , thanks for the cache

What a Mega Mission for a group of Hamilton Over Achievers! A great trip, a long time in the planning. I teamed up with Cats&Dragons and HKCB to grab a couple of caches while in Christchurch and surrounding areas for the 2015 Mega Event. We flew out from Auckland on Friday night and traveled to Dunedin in the dark of the night. Stopped for a few hours sleep before setting off to grab caches in the Otago area on Saturday before attempting a few more on Sunday and then arriving at the Mega on the Monday. An amazing, yet crazy road trip
When C&D mentioned a day with over 400 caches I should have turned and ran... instead I said yes, and here we are. 401 caches in 23 hours and 50 minutes. All done on about 2.5hr of sleep. It was hard work with only 3 of us and there were times that were hard and tiring but I still had a blast! An amazing experience that one has to be slightly crazy to even consider
Loved looking around here. Thanks for placing the caches to show us around.

was out for a wander today, I found the Oak, but where was the cache? nope I looked around the Oak, and the fence line around it, across the road (near where the gps was telling me it was) found nothing, I decided enough was enough when the only place left was in the hawthorns and two scratches later... home time. is it still there? or is I blind?
no luck with this one today, we spent quite a bit of time on both sides of the road looking for this one but found nothing
Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url]
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands [8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]
During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:
Chapter 5: [green]Twizel[/green] to [red]Oamaru[/red]
After a stormy and rainy previous day, the rain had stopped this morning
Therefore we could search for some caches during our drive...and this time without our ponchos
This cache of a wonderful cache series, with a terrific story, was one of them
For us it was often not so easy to find a place for the car, but with the given hint it was almost easy to find the cache
I would like to thank [Navy]'drawp'[/Navy] for showing us these historical oaks and maintaining this brilliant cache series,

During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]
Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches
