Caching around East Coast and a bit inland for a while. TFTC.Today was a big caching day. Unplanned as usual. I decided to attend an event over the Brindabellas and into Namadji Park.I left my caravan at EPIC and picked up my nephew, Boaham at 8:30 and we were off.First stop was Picadilly Circus with an Adventure Lab way point. I had to get that one ready at Uriarra Village while I still had reception and then constantly tap my phone all the way to Picadilly Circus to not let the app close and have the answer become enabled. It worked and I finally could upload the answer the next day. Also at PC I could finally finish the Wherigo that was started a month earlier. We also grabbed the close by cache which required a bit of mountain slope bush bashing.Arrived at the parking for the event to find one Cacher had camped there the night. The event was great with a nice small turn out. The birthday cake at the event was about all but a few muesli bars we ate for the day.The group then started the large multiple way point multi. There were people going all directions looking for overgrown tiny signs in the scrub. We managed to find them all with the help of those with the foresight to photograph the map. Checksums weren't working but we finally had an answer. Yay.After the event Boaham and I did all the caches from there to, and up Mount Franklin. An awesome collection of trads, multis and puzzles.Driving back past the event parking lot at dark and the camping cacher's car was still there. Planning for another very cold camping night in the mountains, I guess.Sure was tuckered by the end of the day.Back in Canberra we met up with my Son and his wife who are silent cachers for dinner and energetic challenge rooms. Phew, what a day. Finally sleep time.A nice stop and a view. Great camping area.
Coaxed out to the western border by an event at the Bendora Arboretum, I navigated some of the ACT's (and, very briefly, NSW's) finest gravel roads in pursuit of a few caches in an area I'd never before considered visiting, but ended up becoming quite enamoured by in this crisp autumn weather.I passed by contesta who was pulled over at the closest point in the road to this cache, and she kindly informed me that she wasn't going to it but that a more suitable parking spot was further up!From there, it was a pleasant walk along the border until a pretty neat outcrop was spotted.I wandered down until I hit the coordinates where a likely hiding spot was identified and the container was found tucked away within! Thanks to noikmeister for putting this one here!
Trying to escape the heat SJG66 and I headed for the hills, this was an easy find. TFTC.
What a beautiful spot, would have driven right by if not for the cache. Thanks!
With GreyHams we spent a full and very enjoyable day out in the area... an area I really need to come to more often as it was really spectacular on a day as beautiful as today's. With a FTF out in the area it highlighted the many yet to be found caches out this way and a good choice indeed!
An early start was a tasty one with McMuffins to munch on along the way, lots of little wallabies not an issue with the slower speeds along the quiet narrow road. Despite the frost and frozen ground it wasn't cold as we made our way up the first hill with the most glorious blue sky and still air.
The FTF a nice bonus, it was on to an abundance of caches to choose from, we made many smaller walks, loved the spectacular scenery with the snow gums and mountain views.
I'm sure it was my first time up Mt Franklin peak, and certainly my first visit to Bendora Dam. With all the dams at full, Bendora Dam with the overflowing and rushing water was cool to watch, such a great place and SO pleased to have experienced it.
Thank you for your cache that led to such an amazing day Noikmeister.
What a great spot, a little oasis... and easily accessed which was a pleasant surprise.

We were looking for somewhere to go caching today, and seeing a new chache still unfound made me look a little closer, and it was in an area full of unfound caches...and it was in a county that neither of us have a FTF in....so early start was had, and with McMuffin in hand we set off for Mt Franklin.
Still a little ice on the ground when we got out of the car but the slope of the hill warmed us up. All info gathered easily, passing all the trads on the way up and some nice looking coords were had. OK, FTF out of the way we set about trying to at least start multi's, solve puzzles, admire earthcaches, grab trads and even a Wherigo.
A sidetrip down to Bendorra dam was made, on a road that was a little scary at times. Very impressive dam and nice little set of caches to find there too.
After that it was mostly park and grabs on the way back...saw GLISS! and nibletricecakes pass in the other directions after the briefest on-the-road chat.
All in all, a great day with some great variety. To all the CO's, thank you for placing.
To say we took the dumb way in is the biggest understatement ever....no need to bush bash!

Came directly here through the scrub from 'Take the bull by the head' as the gate on Mt Franklin road is shut (feral animal shoot, ends on 26 Feb according to the signage, and bushwalkers are discouraged. Only saw the sign on the way back to the car...)
A pretty walk to a really lovely clearing where the cache was found without issue - thanks, Noikmeister.

Getting close to our 2000th but thought we'd grab this one today seeing as we are out this way. TFTC
Today was a trip to Mount Franklin road the attend an event in the afternoon. While another group walked up Mt Gingera, I visited as many caches along the ridge as I could. This was a short detour of the track. Nice view to the east from here.
Thanks for the cache noikmeister

Today is the 15th November 2020 and I managed to find 15 Caches for the day with my friend Loci612. It was an amazing day of caching. We had no DNFs for the day. We spent a total of almost 10 hours caching and I was dog tied at the end of it all. One of the highlights for the day were seeing a Bluetongue and placing 3 new caches. In total I drove 100kms but I love geocaching so much and the friends I have made along the way make it all worthwhile.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it. Thanks for all the caches and sorry for the generic log for this cache but with 15 finds today it is hard to write a different one for each cache.
ALL CACHES WERE SIGNED DSD. ALL CACHES WERE FOUND IN GOOD ORDER UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. THANKS FOR THE CACHE AND THE ADVENTURE.
I have included my one of a kind Geocache Poem with this log for future readers to enjoy.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
***** I am currently writing more detailed logs than usual. This is because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author" Badge. "The Author" Badge challenges geocachers to write an average of one hundred words or more in each Found It log. As of 9th November 2020 my average was 160 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 100 words for a long period of time to get my average to the target. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After 7600 plus caches (which includes all cache finds up and including yesterday), the average log length is just over 160 words. I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task before this year ends. Progress has been better than anticipated.*****
A Few random photos of our caching week included.

We came the hard way to this cache, maybe if we were travelling south down the road we would have found the better parking and easier access first, but travelling north instead we parked at the first pull-off we saw and bashed through the bush wondering why the terrain was so low!
A quick find once we arrived, and then went the easy way back out, only 50 metres away from our car too once we hit the road!
Thanks , congratulations for your 2000th find (back in 2012)

Despite the heat, I decided today was the day to visit Wee Jasper for the first time. On the way I wanted to grab all the TE caches I could, and any others I passed by that could be fitted in. All up 23 caches (including 11 TEs). Unexpectedly I also managed to get 5009 days of unlove from 10 of the finds. About 15km of walking and 500m climb.
This was my seventh find for the day. Cah easily found. TFTC.

Great afternoon up in the Brindis. More driving than walking which is definitely not the norm. Made it to the top of Mt Agie bringing back lots of fabulous memories of our last visit.
Good little walk to a very picturesque location to find this cache. Saw an Echindas blissfully ambling along until it heard/saw me. Had a late lunch nearby close to a boarder marker that is easily recognised by its curved rock formation. Quick and easy find. TFTC Noikmeister.

Well that's an interesting cache to try to get to from the road. The bush is really thick and making my way through it resulted in constant showers of snow and some beautiful photos. Interesting placement.

A day out caching Brindabella Rd and surrounds South from there. Sharp! TNLNSL TFTC
A nice open bit of forest made for easy walking. Found with SecretSquirrel-BJC.
A day of mainly mountain bike riding collecting caches around the Brindabella Road with JohnnyBoyACT. The plan was we would ride here from the picnic area, however JB suggested we drive instead and I certainly did not object. TFTC.
A geo-trip in the Brindies on mountain bike and foot with Marmaduke Rothschild. Trip report at [http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/13-september-2016-more-brindabella-geocaching-ridewalk/](http://www.johnevans.id.au/wp/13-september-2016-more-brindabella-geocaching-ridewalk/) . TFTC.

Another weekend of glorious Autumn weather! So a plan was hatched to head out with AngelG27 to nab several higher terrain caches in beautiful spots. The day was about quality not quantity!
Swung by this one on the way back home. After parking the car and then going through the scrub, we were greeted by an unexpected clearing And then we had a laugh when we saw we could have parked right NEAR the clearing! [:O)]
Anyway, cache was in hand after a short search. Great spot for this milestone cache!
Thanks for the hide, noikmeister

Time for another geomission with Specimen X. She wanted to test out her new GeoJeep, and I wanted a couple of higher T rated caches, so our interests coincided perfectly! We headed off the bitumen on a perfect Canberra autumn morning and had an awesome time, finding 18/18 caches attempted. back by dark - just - we had to stop ourselves from finding "just one more". Thanks to all the cache owners for their caches, and to Specimen X for her fab company today!
Another case of "Just one more"! We stopped on the road and wandered up and over, when we realised there was a perfectly reasonably parking area near by! Nice rock formations near GZ distracted us for a few moments until I heard the ever popular "found it" yell from SpecimenX. An unexpected clearing and a nice short walk, thanks Noikmeister!

We so enjoyed the organised expedition to Mt Franklin's four caches on Sunday that we decided (at 11am this morning) to come back and do some more of these high altitude geocaches today. So we drove GeoFalcon to the locked gate at Mt Ginini and cached back down the road from there.
I see now that the Co has more than doubled his finds since placing this cache here. Well done! Rest assured this cache is helping us achieve our 4000 milestone real soon! [)]

After finding somewhere to pull over we scrambled up through the bush to GZ. Quickly located the cache. We may have seen the snake while we were there but whatever it was moved off so quickly that we didn't get a good look - let's pretend it was just our imagination! Thanks noikmeister
Found during a 4WD'ing expedition around the place
Came across this cache, and a damn snake was at GZ. It slithered off eventually and the log was in hand fairly quickly. TFTC!

Today we explored Camberra and surrounds using geocaching as a guide. We enjoyed our scenic tour around the Uriarra State Forrest taking in some great views.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

A fine way to celebrate a milestone. Beautiful spot for a cache, and an even more beautiful spot for a baby to have a nappy change. We didn't go any further than this owing to the fading daylight, but we'll definitely be coming back this way in the near future. TFTC.
TFTC noikmeister. Have taken the trackable & will move it closer to help it on its way

Another enjoyable cache location and quick find with good co-ords.
A beaut day to be in the hills with only 20 degrees and no one around but the wildlife.
Found and penciled around 1 pm with 4 of the 9 Farmers 5.
Many thanks to noikmeister for a well positioned cache hide.

Well this is a nice spot. Remember the car park, but have never walked further. Picked up a few grass seeds here, which seem to be absent at higher elevations!
Cache found OK. Left GC.
Thanks

After pushing through the brush at the edge of the area, I was surprised to find the open, clear area inside. Very tranquil, and a good spot to sit and ponder.

Found on our trip towards the event further down the road (A Long Way to the Top) with Sol de lune. He had already found this one, but he was happy to revisit it (mainly because the container of this cache was supplied by him). I read the description for this one a while ago - many apologies for hiding a Sol de lune trivia cache before you. But good to see that this was placed for a great milestone. A short walk to GZ for a very quick find at the hiding spot. Nice hide in a lovely area. TNLNSL. TFTC noikmeister!
Slowly winding our way back down to Canberra after celebrating Winglens 10k with Mcphan. No troubles here, I was psyched for a tougher challenge.
Thanks McPhan for the grab and Winglens for the company.
And thanks for the cache.

[green]8630. Well this old man made a mad womble to the cache as fast as I could as so far I hadn't found squat. Seeing the ratings on this one I was off like a tortoise and soon had a gap of several inches on the opposition and made the grab with seconds to milliseconds to spare - stil have a couple if anybody's interested.
Thanks for the cache [blue]noikmeister[/blue] and the quintet.[/green]

Winglen were also celebrating a milestone today, coming up here with McPhan and Zsazsa7 for our 10,000th find. After grabbing two of the Marking our Territory series we were back on our way north, and this was a nice quick find that didn't require much at all in the way of walk (and very handy parking). Agree this is a nice quiet location, thanks Noikmeister.
2nd for the day. I would like to see Australia become a republic, BUT I THANK the Queen for having a birthday so we can Geocaching!!! An easy find. TFTC
More people should come here - a lovely part of the world. I imagine this would make a sheltered campsite on the way to visit Bendora Arboretum. TFTC
Out caching with some friends, picking up caches out this way, soon arrived at gz and located cache, very sharp rocks, pritty bush. TFTC
Great place to stop and take a break. Found while caching with friends on a hot day on the mountain. SLTN..TFTC
6039+ 698 = 6737. A very weird day of caching..... with Sol de Lune....
With a full day available Sol and I decided to tackle some really weird caches out there in the forests - plus a few others and trigs etc...
While not a weird cache or even a Tankengine cache this was a special one to do as its a nice Milestone for Noikmeister. I know its a tough slog from thousand to thousand so well done ! Quick find - glad it wasn't a long walk or climb in this heat.
Thanks noikmeister - stand by for Sol's next ACT 2000 Club !
TNLN - TFTC !!

Hey....nice container .....
Fitzy and I were heading up here as part of our Tankengine Day of caches...and with this one being so close, we naturally stopped by to grab it....especially after reading the write up. Lots of info in there, so no mistaking what it was all about. Cheers.
A short little walk to GZ where the cache was found after a minute or so. Nice views as well, so glad we made the effort.
Thanks NM....and congrats on the 2000th. As I now have time to burn, I'll be able to catch up on the kilo club caches. Stay tuned on that......

Chooo ooo - my 5000th GC find! Saw this one was coming up, but didn't have the energy to do a Namadgi doozy - So decided on the Brindabella's instead! The road was shut at Bulls Head, and I soon found out why! (See pic) So it was a nice bike-ride and then easy find at GZ. Nice little spot - thanks Noikmeister!
TAMS has no notification of the road up here being closed, nor do they know if you call them! (Attention you two ACT cachers who work there.!!!!!!)
From other info, I knew this road was likely to be closed, I want to replace a couple of my more remote caches with more sturdy containers. So I decided a look would be in order. Yep, gate shut! Oh well, at least I know what is happening up there, christmasish sound feasible. So, a short walk and a found cache. Thanks Noikmeister.

1297. Yep, I was awoken by the email alert at 0115hrs on Saturday morning, but snuggled back under the doona.
At a more decent hour I was on my way to the shops and noticed that this one still hadnt receive a found log yet, so a small detour was made.
I arrived at the locked gates and my hopes of a FTF faded a little as there were a few vehicles parked in the area. Regardless, I began the 900m + walk to GZ enjoying the views and remnants of snow in the more sheltered areas. I arrived at GZ and after a little bit of searching, found what I was looking for and a blank log. A *FTF* @ 1036hrs.
So congratulations Norky on your milestone and thanks for the cache. I really enjoy this part of the world.
I also discovered a TB.

I was with the CO the day this cache was placed. We had a great day mountain biking through namadgi - starting from the locked gate at Bulls Head. Our plan was to cache our way out to Mt Ginjira, then retun to the Geomobile before sundown, but we had underestimated how much time we would chew up caching and had to make the tough call after finding VHV to abort our Ginjira attempt and head back. On the way back we found this nice sport and Norkmeister stashed his cache. Nice Norks, a great day out. We will have to attempt Ginjira again sometime soon.
