Out and about caching with Cheezel and WayneAPN while on a trip to the Riverland.Cache found and log stamped
The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and chaches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL
The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC
Found with Greg and Judy, Ronice88 and Weirdobiker under the banner of Vic Bandits on the SA JLWE event at Lameroo. This is our generic log, anything exceptional will be added.TFTC
Found with Riddell, Ronice88 and weirdobiker under the banner of Vic Bandits on the SA JLWE event at Lameroo signed as Vic Bandits.Apologies for the generic log, but were required we replaced logs and/or damaged caches, until we ran out.It was about here we realised we had travelled this road before, so some caches we have found twice TFTC SL TB's visited
We are in Lameroo for the annual JLWE event which is the Lameroos Ludicrous Legwarmer event this year with an 80s theme.Out and about with Ronice88, Riddell and gregandjudy to collect this series of caches which are quite a way from home. We are signing as Vic Bandits todaySorry for the generic logs this group of caches. The container is in poor condition and will need replacing shortly
Hip hip hooray to legends, heroines and heroes. Here we are in SA for the JLW Ludicrous LegWarmers in Lameroo EVENT and its inbetween the days busy schedule. So out and about with weirdobiker, GregandJudy and Riddells AKA VIC BANDITS signing, exploring the hinterland TFTC and the FUN.
Day 2 of tackling this series. Male Chatterbox discovered it whilst on the lounge in WA. Did another 57 that includes 7 dnf. 170 km return trip from Loxton. Thank you everyone for the caches. Quite a few caches are crumbling away. Finding this series a bit hard. Long walks into the messy bush watching out for those wrigglys. Saw two. Eeek!
Careful of the trip wires.
Careful of the trip wires.
Quick stop in my travels to find a few more hero's today. (Even had SAPOL around this area seeing if I was okay...). TFTC How Do They Know, cache in good condition, no maintenance required.
Today the JAMS crew was out and about to complete the Wandering Heroes series. JJ52, mogni, Sir Spectre, tallbikestan and I met at the crack of dawn on a predicted hot day. We worked great as a team to find the remaining caches of the series as well as a few caches before it and a few after it. I was mainly the driver today and I filled up the car at Murray Bridge before the first find and from then on I didn't turn the car of until we had done finding and headed back to Tailem Bend, when we got to Tailem Bend and had 4kms of fuel left which added a adrenaline rush to the day. Thanks to all the CO's and the cachers that are a reason for another find. The JAMS crew hid a JAMS cache today to add to the series. I first met Are We There Yet? at a FTF earthcache in Christies Beach
Out on another JAMS day with allister w, mogni, sir_spectre and tallbikestan targeting the rest of the Wandering Heroes that we didn't finish last time we were out this way. We started off in Murray Bridge then stopped off at the Happy Armpit series before heading to Sandalwood where we left off previously. [^] After finishing the Wandering Heroes and some others that we went past we zig zagged back to Tailem Bend finding some random caches in random locations which all added to the fun of the day. It was pretty hot and the car air conditioner got a good workout, but that didn't stop us even though I was quite tired by the end of the day.
Thanks for the cache How Do They Know?

Out with the JAMS crew for our monthly caching run. This run was with JJ52, Allister w, Mogni and sir_spectre plus Tallbikestan but minus Michells&hound. All logs today where stamped as mystery randoms. Todays target was to do the armpit series then finish the Wandering Heroes trail where we left it uncompleted at sandal wood last time and then slowly cache the back roads back to Karoonda. The wandering heroes trail was in a poorer state then last time and that is saying some thing. This time out of 104 caches on the trail including a few stray trads beside the freeway we replaced 18 caches that where found broken/cracked but surprisingly almost al the logbooks where saved and less then a hand full of logbooks on this section were full and needed replacing. It was nice to see some of the caches still themed after all this years. Also good to see a few large caches out here. A good day out even if it was 35 degrees. Some time along the Wandering Heroes i got my 15,000 find as well.
Really enjoying the variety to containers and the effort that have gone into them. Had a wonderful stay in Berri but now heading South.
On a road trip to South Australia now the border is open with Kittykatch, and barb2e calling ourselves Border Busters or BB. Forth day of our trip and loving the beautiful green fields and cool day. Awesome day to be out.

Mini Greeno's and Mr Greeno were going stir crazy after being cooped up in the house and needed to get out for a drive. Mrs Greeno suggested we do some of the Wandering Heroes caches as we hadn't headed out that way for a long time - plus it meant we could still maintain social distancing by avoiding other people and townships!
This was a quick and easy find by Miss 10. Thanks for placing and maintaining How Do They Know?!

Today we formed a small team to tackle a section of the Wandering Heroes series between Loxton and Karoonda. It was an early morning start today, and the four of us, FeatherWaite, GoodLook, @gridge98, and I, agreed to stamp the caches with a 'thumbs up' emoji stamp to save room in logs and for our ease. It wasn't a bad day to tackle this series, with blue skies and the sun out allowing us to run in/out and look for caches. Some may argue it was too good of a day to be stuck inside a car for half the time. There was a bit of banter in order to take our minds off the significant number of cache finds for the day.
Several caches were replaced due to their various poor states. Some containers had barely survived the test of time, and there didn't seem to be too many damp logbooks. Several detours were also had off the main road, and the caches at these sights seemed more interesting than the randomly placed heroes caches. Some were in good shape and creative, but most seemed to be the standard Sistema container. Thanks to all who had placed and those who have helped to maintain the current containers.
Thanks for this cache, and it didn't take long to find. Cache and contents were in good shape, cheers How Do They Know?

Out for the day with Davidwazza, GoodLook and featherwaite to complete the wandering heroes caches north of karoonda. All the caches are in good condition as we replaced the ones that were broken and needed replacing. All the caches were stamped with a thumbs up () stamp for convenience. Was great to chat about the different heroes along the trail as we went. Thanks to all the COs for their placements

Found with Davidwazza, GoodLook and gridge98 on a mission to tackle the Wandering Heroes Trail with each of us in various stages of 'completion'. Started at Loxton and worked back towards Karoonda replacing a few soggy log books and damaged containers along the way. Also took the opportunity to detour off the series to locate other nearby caches, resulting in a very entertaining and rewarding day's caching. Thanks for the cache How Do They Know?!
Today I was out with the boys to finish off what gridge98 and I had started many months ago; joining us was FeatherWaite and DavidWazza. All of the caches were stamped with an emoji thumbs up stamp to save room in logs and for our ease.
We spoke to CPWanderer before venturing out and took a supply of various sized containers with us to replace those that were cracked/broken/missing. The section from Karoonda to Loxton should be fine for some time now
It was a sunny and relatively warm day - a boost to our health and wellbeing. I packed healthy lunches and snacks for all to enjoy and caching we went. We had a great time and shared lots of laughter.

This was another day with ilook4geo and chasing those Wandering Heroes. It was a very assorted as far as containers and logs go. Some were in excellent condition and some containers had almost totally disintegrated. Most were somewhere between these extremes.
Each found log had two more lots of initials added somewhere on its pages before we headed off again. Thank you to How Do They Know? for adding this cache to the series.

After a very uncomfortable night sleeping in the car, we made an early start today. With our next milestone in sight Mr Emily and son came up to grab some caches for numbers and to make it easier when we finally finish this trail. Its nice that every cache is different here. TFTC
Today was a day of WH caches and a list was prepared. Triple M played David Bowie’s Heroes on the way here which was very appropriate. Lots of wildlife seen today and seemed to have 4 seasons in the day but had a fun trip with only 1 dnf. Unfortunately a few of the caches at the end had perished but on the whole the trail was in good condition. It was good to see hero caches for a lot of cachers I have now met since being in Adelaide. TFTC
It's been awhile since we've looked at the Wandering Heroes Trail, but thought we'd find a few more today . On this leg, we covered Minarie to Loxton [^].
As usual, a great variety of caches out here .

I met Are We There Yet on the way to one of CO Wanderer’s events. We had a good chat while making our way through the scrub.

Took off again for another caching afternoon with Purrfect Di.
A nice drive to see some wandering heroes, via a few odd caches along the way!
Just a handful of caches today, but good ones
No wriggly sticks today, just a good easy cache.
Thanks How Do They Know? for placing this cache and for giving us a good reason to drive this way!

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Back over in S A to clear some more of the wandering hero's caches. New ones keep popping up like mushrooms. We had another great days fun finding the variety of caches. Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches. We will return at some time to claim the others.
Found with FerociousFlea on our 2017 June Long Weekend Wandering Heroes Caching Run. Totals included 155 on Saturday, 176 on Sunday and 6 early Monday, making for 337 caches in a little over 48 hours.
Thanks to all of the cache owners and caching teams that have this series named after them. Thanks also to those who make the effort to maintain other's caches so that people like us can do these caching runs. Apologies for the generic logs...

On a road trip to the Riverland with my Dad today just for the day. He wanted to go to Chowilla but in the end we only went to Loxton, Berri and Renmark before heading home. It was a long way to travel in a day
Had a good lunch at Loxton and then visited Aldi at Berri so had a couple of rest stops on the way.
I picked this cache up on the way there.

A quick and easy drive by as we cache our way through this series. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Another weekend, another foray into Wandering Hero territory. Today we cached between Mindarie and Alawoona. We ended up with a total of 37 finds, which included a handful of non-heroes, a couple of which were multis.
We really enjoy our trips along the Wandering Heroes trail and find it interesting to read about each of the honoured cachers and their exploits.
Container was cracked and beyond repair. Replacement made from our on-board supplies. Logbook also placed in a plastic bag.

We are on our 6 week adventure to the Kimberleys and we would love to get our 4000 while up there. So we had a little look on the map and decided a minor detour was in order. It's also very pleasing to get to finish off this series that we started at the SA oz mega. Thanks to all the COs for the cache placement to make our 4000 wishe come true. Tftc
What a great trail, the weather is fine, the birds are singing and we are "in the groove". Thanks to all the cachers who put this trail together, we are having a ball and have not missed a beat, so far. 3-Kings and I have come all the way from NSW to experience this trail and it was well worth it. TFTC
Oh wow, what a trail ! The WEEO and I flew down from Canberra to cache this trail and around MB and my wonderful Auntie put us up (future cacher there too ). We made it all the way to Loxton in 2 days but were shagged by the end. The caches were mostly fab and gave us a laugh along the way.
Thanks to all you cachers in the MB area for the great work in putting this together, you guys rock!

Traveled to Loxton early in the morning for a random geocaching adventure with my partner Lord Rossatron. We had an extremely fun day, didnt realise the Mardi Gras was scheduled for that day though! We did the caches around Loxton that we could get too and then headed 20-30km out of Loxton and started grabbing those caches!! We found 100 caches in our one day of caching in Loxton, we were pretty proud Geocachers heading back to Mildura at Night.
Sorry for the somewhat generic log. After taking 8-9 months to find our first 200 caches, we planned to travel over from Mildura for a day trip and knock out 100 caches to take us up to our 300th. We left at 7am and got back again around 8:30, If I counted correctly, we achieved our goal.

Having based our holiday around achieving 150 caches in a day, in the company of DAB, we set off early Sunday morning to fulfil a challenge sitting in our home town of Geelong. Camping in Loxton it was easy to start at the top end and work our way down the Wandering Heroes series and also grabbing any others in our path. A fun day was had by both teams as we wandered down the hwy, appreciating all the well deserved dedication hides to our fellow cachers.
**Thanks very much How Do They Know? for the hide that helped add to our numbers today.**

Today was the day that two caching teams joined up for a challenge,The_Tritonz and DAB. We had set ourselves the task of 150 finds in a day. Luckily we achieved that number and then some !! We started the day very early and concluded in the late afternoon. While a good percentage of the finds were from the "Wandering Heroes" series, there were other hides in the mix. We found mysteries, traditionals and multis. We were spoilt with the landscape and plenty of photos were snapped.
There was plenty of laughs throughout the day and the weather was perfect. Being from Victoria, we were very impressed with not only the number, but the quality of the hides. Thanks to all of the CO's for an enjoyable but tiring day !! We can't wait to return here. TFTC

And possibly the last for a while. Am now up to date, bar one
And four new ones I've just read about
And thanks again to CP for the idea behind, and much of he work required to make this great series operate as well as it does.

We had a shower of rain just as we arrived at this spot, the colours on the wet gum trees was awesome. The camera worked overtime. Then we remembered why we stopped here, to find a cache and we did.
After visiting my brother in Murray Bridge I am now actually heading for Queensland for the Mega and picking up the rest of the Wandering Heroes series that I haven't yet done with a few others along the way.
Had a very good day with only a couple of no finds and a couple near Karoonda where muggles were everywhere for the farm day so stopped me even looking.
No problems with finding any of the caches that I did find.

Project “Centroid” was on. After a bit of planning Fleabag and I decided to head towards Adelaide again for the long weekend to get 500 or so caches to move our centroid far enough away from home to complete a challenge cache in Melbourne. We managed to get 501 just for good measure.
At the same time we tried to get a few areas of Victoria done on the way there and back to start working on another challenge cache back in Melbourne.
Today was a wandering heroes day until we had to head into Murray Bridge to pickup some replacement caches from the CO to replace a number of the Oz Mega series that are missing which we will fix up tomorrow.
Thanks for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Spiffy- and I were on a project to get 500 caches in 4 days that were over 100km from our home locations. I reallly enjoyed this series and the themed hides. Great idea and a nice tribute to all the cachers. With each cache we would recall if we had met them at events and what caches they owned. A long and tiring but very enjoyable day. Thanks for the cache.
Suscoe's 29th find of the day as we travelled the last part of the W H trail in the great company of Phetlern.
This was our 4th trip to complete this series and by the end of the day we had finished all of the trail as well as a number of nearby caches.
A terrific day all up travelling in beaut country with good company.
Harvest was in full swing and the paddocks were that lovely straw color.

An early start from Loxton this morning with the Suscoe team to track down the final fifty or so Wandering Heroes. It was fun reading about the exploits of the heroes in the cache notes. Unlike the earlier sections of the series we didn't find as many caches where the hide typified hiding style or personality of the cacher.
At the end of the day we had achieved all we set out to do + a little bit more and headed back to Loxton with lots of all round.
Thanks to How Do They Know? for the hunt.

Mr M-SEZ & geo boy are out caching with ma77hew from ma77hew & kay. We cleaned up most of the back end of the Wandering Heroes series and the loose ones in between, but then it started belting down with rain when we had only 4 to go! Sounds like an excuse to come back another day.
Thanks to all the cache owners who took the time to hide these caches, and congratulations to those who were lucky enough to have a cache dedicated to them. TFTC

Found with M-SEZ while attacking the Wandering Heroes series. While the girls were at home having a Tupperware party, the boys hit the road for a Sistema party.
On a day caching in the Mallee added to our collection of Wandering Heroes series. This is a generic log which should not detract from the quality or amount of the caches placed along and around the Karoonda to Loxton Roads. Thanks to all the cache placement teams for their contribution to this wonderful place in South Australia for all cachers.
Our third attempt at completing the WH series, and we still didn't manage to finish it... So I'm secretly excited to have to organise yet another caching expedition with mum and dad Sylken to run to the finish line (at least until someone publishes some more new ones .
We had a much cooler day for our outing this time, but the wind was pretty ferocious! Nevertheless, as always we had a ball.
Thanks to all the cache owners in the series. Your efforts at placing and maintaining the caches in the series are greatly appreciated.

Geodaughter KAROPI joined us here in Murray Bridge for our third assault on the WH series. We had cached as far as just north of Karoonda and felt we may be able to finish the rest of those published to date, as far as Loxton. We were very wrong...we left Murray Bridge at 07.30 and finished caching at about 17.45 and by then we had still only reached Alawoona. We still have over forty to find
We had a howling wind all day....a lot of the time spent bending into the wind to stay upright while searchng for caches. Let's not even discuss what it was like to open and close 4x4 doors with a gale blowing up our rear end, we all now have overextended arm muscles At least on the way there we had great fuel economy. We won't talk about the (non)economy we had on the way home
We found about a hundred caches and had no DNF's at all. We found some really nice caches, dedicated no doubt to some really nice cachers. We have found several more caches in one day in the past but are using the appalling wind as an excuse for not finishing the series today.
We saw very little wild life...some shinglebacks, one roo and two echidnas...oh and a bunny who took off like the proverbial...rabbit?? We actually saw a couple of his mates too, but they were many metres away instead of only about three metres with this little fellow. Thankfully we saw no snakes...they obviously don't like strong wind either
We stopped at the Karoonda pub for dinner....very basic ,but filling, and arrived back at base after dark and somewhat exhausted
Many thanks for the hide How do they know?[^][^][^]

The Parrots have languished on 7000 for far too long.
So in a push to get to 8000 we have headed out to Loxton the power trail capital of Australia.
Fresh from an overnight stay at the Loxton Motel we headed out first thing this morning.
This part of the series was a great start to the day as most of this trail was on back roads and we love playing in the dirt.
The Parrots make a great team at this as Mrs Parrot has a good eye for the the cache is probably going to be and is the cache driver of the team. I then tag and bag em.
This was a great kick start to the day because when we got back to the main road it went from a power trail to lots of individual hides in a row.
Lots of them are 50 metres away from the road and once you start adding up 60 lots of 100 metre round trips you realise you are covering a bit of ground.
Lots were away from there hiding places I think the local wildlife is finding them as much as we are.

Day two with silverfoxed on our big caching weekend and what a great day for it. Saw lots of lizards dead and alive on the road today. TFTC
Day 2 of the Wandering Heroes series. A night in the Loxton Hotel following a previous full day of caching and we’re all a bit weary today. Never mind, as soon as we find a good coffee we’ll come right.
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We headed down to South Australia for a few days of caching, and the Wandering Heroes series was next up on our list, with a few other caches in between We started off nicely and early today before hitting the trails, and after a slow start, we soon picked up the pace, and were on a roll Many of the them were quite unique, and as most had good hints and obvious hides, we managed to get them knocked off quickly We enjoyed these caches, as they were all pretty straight forward, and it never took long to find each cache We managed to finish off the day with only a few dnf's too

Out today cleaning up the Wandering Heroes trail and any other nearby caches that we could get. An entertaining day with a wonderful variety of hides and Bruce and I recalled memories of times shared with several of the caching teams mentioned. Nice one. Replace existing container that was damaged. Thanks to How Do They Know?

Thank you How Do They Know? for your cache.
We travelled across the country to be part of the fantastic Oz Mega Event at Murray Bridge, and a great time was had by all. Now that it is over and we have a little time left to gather a few more smilies before turning our vehicle West and winding our way back home again.

Over from WA for the SA Mega. and trying for a few smiley's along the way Having a third and final bite at the Wandering Hero's series today along with Everlasting. We really enjoyed the drive through the countryside and having a great excuse to visit here. We returned to our accommodation 12 hours exactly after leaving it today for the 340km drive chasing smiley's. We loved many of the caches where it is obvious that the CO has expended a great deal of effort to enhance our experience. Apologies for the generic logs but rest assured we do appreciate the effort the various CO's have put in for our enjoyment..
Thanks for the caches

After arriving to Murray Bridge last night and setting up camp at the SA Mega event site, I decided to head out today to tackle some more of the wandering heroes series. Always enjoy revisiting this series...learning about those new cachers I have yet to meet, and paying tribute to those cachers who I have.

Found with alpenmilch80, Cats&Dragons, funkymunkyzone, vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 on an epic 24 hour cache run of the Oz Mega trails, Wandering Heroes, Tour de France and a bunch of caches between these. Signed as NZ Fun (and also some instances of Fun NZ as the day continued on)! A total of 727 caches were found on this run!
Thanks to all the COs for their placements!

Sitting in a pub in Auckland before the SA MEGA we decided it would be a really fun idea to try and see how many caches we could find within 24hours. So it was decided, team NZ Fun was born (myself, Alpenmilch80, Cats and Dragons, slieschke, funkymonkeyzone and vistra). We met at the dedicated starting point just before midnight and we were ready to go on the stroke of 12, we completed Signal, OZ Mega trails, Wandering Heros and the Tour de France with many others in between.
Thank you to the many cache owners who put time and effort into placing and maintaining these trails, we really appreciate it, we managed 727 caches within our 24hours, which was exhillerating, exhausting and loads of fun. Apologies for the generic log.

From Auckland via Sydney I arrived at Adelaide around 10pm on the 17th to be picked up by funkymunkyzone, slieschke and Cats&Dragons (thx!). The plan was a 24h geocaching run which included picking up as many caches possible involving the three trails of Oz Mega, Wandering Heroes and Tour de France. We made it just in time back to Murray Bridge to meet up with vistra and yorkshirekiwi83 at GZ of our first cache. With the whole Team "NZ Fun" assembled the run started exactly at midnight.
In total we managed 727 finds and 11 DNFs in 24 hours. Wow what a great team effort!!
After the "Oz Mega 2014 SA & Signal" Series we started to concentrate on the "Wandering Heroes series". Great trail with sooooooo many awesome and creative geocaches. Thanks to all the cache owners! TFTC
