TFTC TheKellyGang your cache Ghost of Gnomey that we found today. We arrived at Clements Gap Conservation Reserve just before lunch. We set up camp at the Old School. After a coffee we headed out with the international of completing TheKellyGangs Gnome series and the other caches in the Reserve. We had a great afternoon. The Gnome series deserve all the favourites they have and more. A well thought out and at time frustrating series to solve and find. Reached out to the CO who quickly responded so we could make the find and continue our journey.Find Count: 17703
Over at Port Pirie for our Anniversary Australia Day long weekend. Today we headed to Clement's Gap to tackle the very favourited Gnome series by The Kelly Gang. OOOhhh..This one was sneaky! After a fairly long search at GZ along with the ghostly laughter ringinging out we engaged our PAF mode. Thanks CO's for the hint! well not really a hint..more like the solution!! lol! TFTC
Out for the day in the upper reaches of York Peninsula chasing Yellow Smilies!Been a mixture of wins and fails but most of the wins have earnt Favourite points. Many thanks to all the COs in placing and continuous maintenance.TFTC (especially the spoiler received)Favourite point awarded.
Out for the day in the upper reaches of York Peninsula chasing Yellow Smilies!Sadly this one was a Blue Sad face. Discovered the Red Herring without any issues! Will have to try at another time. Many thanks to all the COs in placing and continuous maintenance.
Perfect time of the year to visit Mr gnome. Took about 30 mons of preying over his body. X rip
Came here yesterday, no luck. Came back today and found it within 5 minutes. Very clever TFTC
Time heals all wounds. And time has passed since I last came out and paid my respects to my lost friend here. I can see why I needed a giant nudge from the CO, however with that in hand I can turn this frown upside down. 10 favourite points for the grief and pain caused here. TFTC
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. After looking for 1hr with the flies resorted to PAF, and yes the hint of the sound was correct only we were tapping the wrong thing. Evil Kelly
Today I headed out with CourtneyRose and Gridge98 for a mystery tour to Port Pirie and back. We travelled many kms and found lots of super caches. The gnomes at Clements Gap were particularly good.
Quick bakery lunch in Port Pirie and then back via random country towns and back roads to Adelaide.
An enjoyable day with around 45 finds for the day and the World out to rights.

Out exploring. Having a great day. Took a while, had us stumped, as someone said it just didn't sound right.

Travelling from Perth to Canberra with lots of side tracks.TFTC.
Was worried this one could keep me awhile but had it in 5 mins. Something didn't sound right. Great hide. Managed to turn the car and caravan around. Another challenge.

I spent so much time at Gnomey’s final resting place that I must have felt like we had been old friends. Because I ended up sobbing. Was I sobbing because of the lost hour and a half I spent trying to unsuccessfully find the cache or was I sobbing at the loss of my old friend Gnomey? Hhhmmmm. E may never know.
No luck for me here today, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I will come back.

Well done, enough said.
We are enjoying our time travelling in the YP. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.

Out with iluvtrekking heading to Port Broughton and surrounds, picking up caches along the route. Well this was not only a highlight today but of our SA visit. It took the reading of some past logs to change our search pattern. We don’t get this time of hide back home. Thanks TheKellyGang
Don't see hides like this too often, as they wouldn't get published now.!
Great to see you keeping it going too.

No luck for me with this one kept going in circles but couldn’t come up a winner
Out doing waypoints so thought I would revisit and try looking in a way I would never consider given the circles I had been walking in before.
One of the logs gave me some thought. No wonder I didn’t find it the first time.

A country drive with the muggle other half to collect a few in the mid north that the Adders missed out on when he could not join the weekly Wednesday wander.
All caches were in good condition unless noted otherwise.
Another favourite given for the effort on this one. Yes we fell for the obvious, hmm. With light quickly fading and not wanting to get lost in the woods fearing the ghost may want to haunt us we had to make a quick PAF for a hint. A clever hide found, signed and returned covering our tracks. Now where is the geomobile ??

OMG - Oh My Gnome
This one really stumped me. I wandered round always returning to pay my respects to this poor gnome ️
I sat and thought about his little life and wondered a bit more, then I just sat listening to the bush noises
I found a couple of cheeky decoys and chuckled to myself and the gnomes who laid them out then returned to the solitary grave
I was so close to a DNF when I finally seen something, could it be? How cheeky is that!
TFTC The KellyGang
Keep smiling
PS - I think I spent over an hour here looking for this cache and enjoying the bush. In a funny sort of way I found it quite relaxing. Minimum flies, no mozzies, plenty of birds, sunshine and freedom. You could say I was in my happy place

It was time for a Wednesday wander.
A trio of Befuddled puzzlers met at the Rat's den, to go north.
The trio consisted of SA Sewer Rats, Brisal5 and Astro.
It was day filled with adventures, stories, laughter and caches.
We set off with a list of targeted caches.
Most of the targeted caches were found.
We detoured into the conservation park. Loved the grave site in the bush. then to find the cache was a bit of fun. Located the cache stamped the log and then on our way north and beyond. A fave point award for the effort of the cache site. Tftc
Sebastbat took Jack and myself for a long drive... and we ended up at your cache
Quite surprised at how busy the major roads were, so got off the beaten track whenever we could
Seems the further north we went the more we wanted to go north, but all good things must come to an end sadly, so eventually we went home again! But we might just do it all again tomorrow
A nice track in. Not to wet, not too dry... and only about half an hour before we actually found a log to sign Gnomey is resting safe and sound. And his spirit lives on in the cache
Will add to the favs - for not being in a mint tin
Thanks for memorialising Mr Gnomey here TheKellyGang

Wherever we go caches are located and logged using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S20+, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck
*Logs are composed and published using GSAK of course.*
---
Please do stay safe when caching.
Lookout for mud, snakes, surprise cliffs, wild goats, wombats, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall out of trees...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for bugs. [xx(]
Make sure that Travel Bugs are the only bugs you share and pass on
Now our borders are open - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
We really appreciate all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside,
it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting

Away for a few days with Featherwaite to clear up Kadina to Port Pirie.
We pretty much achieved our target barring a few dnfs.
After a short drive and then a short walk this clever cache was signed.

Back in SA for harvest work. Spending 2 weeks in Port Pirie, today we headed further afield and enjoyed the drive amongst all the green crops. Looks like a good harvest up here. [^]
oHH RIP Gnomey. So sad. At least hes not lonely as theres lots of large mosquitoes hanging around too at the moment. FP added.

gridge98 suggested a day out North caching I wasn't going to say no, now, was I[?]
A long hot day followed and by day's end, with 39 caches found and 3 DNFs too, I was really disappointed that the longed for fish and chips tea at Port Pirie didn't eventuate because the Used2B church that is now a fish and chip shop[:X] was closed for their annual leave
Had a great day and I even got to meet BBB at his letterbox cache
Thanks to all the CO's for the dirt roads, scenic views[:X][^] and historical sites that were enjoyed[^][^]

A short detour off the main road into this cache, the search began and the obvious was soon eliminated with 3 decoys being found. We expanded our search but still nothing so a PAF was used and the stick technique implemented and finally the cache was found nicely hidden away.
Today I headed out with Locus Cache from lochiel towards port Pirie finding cache on each side of the highway and the back roads and clearing the area as we went. Although the weather was rather warm total of 39 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

After spending the night in Port Pirie with a friend, i headed home early today [Monday 21 September 2020] but firstly i wanted these 3 in the cluster here with reasonably high Favorite Points [^]
Went for the hardest first [as i do] and hard it was ha ha [B)]
I was looking all around after discovering 2 of the 3 Red-Herrings and still couldn't find it [:o]
Sat myself down to read up on a few past logs but no hints were discovered so i just had to nut this one out on my own or PAF.
I really wanted to find it on my own so i kept checking. Spotted red herring #3 and again i was deflated by a laughing gnome
Read deeper into past logs coz i wasn't leaving till this one was found. [Hailing from ADL, i don't get up here much so i was going to find it at all costs]
I saw a pic which was kind of a helping hand
Still scratching around like a lost chook, i was re-checking my past efforts [getting desperate ]
I just sat myself down and had a think about it. I tried again with a radius search area that was growing but not helping [B)] ha ha
It was about 15 minutes total when i made the find [ I consider that pretty good considering it could have been anywhere ] There's a hint... (not!) It "IS" there, keep looking ha ha
SL all chuffed as! [^] and most certainly there is a Favorite Point gladly offered for this one's brilliance and workmanship! TheKellyGang you had me for sure and now [that i've found it and a happy as ] i am amazed and smiling from ear to ear with this one's pure brilliance yet sinister evil hide lol

TFTC for such an awesome cache hide and challenge (without the need for a PAF ), TheKellyGang ...... i LOVED it! [:x] [^]

Found on a short camping and caching trip north from Adelaide with FeatherWaite.
We slowly made our way up to near Lake Gairdner on the first day, picking up some selected traditional, letterbox and multi caches along the way. We then went across to Hiltaba where we travelled around part of the property, visiting Hiltaba Lookout and Mount St Mungo to find some more caches, including a couple of FTFs, before heading down to near the Gawler Ranges National Park to camp. Then it was off to Whyalla where we targeted a few multis and traditional caches before returning to Adelaide the following day.
Unlike our trip to the south east a fortnight ago, where we were pretty well rained out, we enjoyed reasonable weather with clear skies for most of the time; the only exception being a bit of rain overnight in the Gawler Ranges area.
Most of the caches were found in good condition, although we did have to replace a couple of containers and logbooks.
We were pleased to find this one after a short search.
Thanks TheKellyGang for the cache.

Found during a caching trip to Hiltaba, the Gawler Ranges and Whyalla with e.gregory1 for a few days. On Day 1 we traveled to Port Augusta and Iron Knob then camped out for the night near Lake Gairdner. On Day 2 we arrived at Hiltaba with the main objective to tackle the caches on Mark Bonin Peak 'The Lookout' and Mt St Mungo before traveling through the Gawler Ranges. On Day 3 we drove to Whyalla then camped out nearby for the night. Day 4 saw us return back to Adelaide, picking out a few selected caches along the way. Targeting a range of cache types (Traditionals, Puzzles, Earthcaches, Multicaches, and a Letterbox), a multiple of cache attributes, and a wide variety of Difficulty/Terrain combinations resulted in an entertaining few days with cool weather and great scenery. Took a little while to locate the hide but with two pairs of eyes searching perseverance paid off. Thanks for the cache TheKellyGang!
Tftc. Did not Found again. Found 3 fake caches but the real one evaded me. This was not how I remembered it from last find.
How did I not know about this clever cache - its been here 8 years.
Anyway, stumbled on it today & boy did I stumble
After about 20 minutes I had to PAF x 2 with still no luck
So a DM to the CO and gave me a great clue - that I didn't understand
Another DM and I was spot on and went AHA!! Of course
Great cache, well planned - love it.
A fave point from me.

TFTC bloody awesome Kelly gang you know how to make a man drink great cache thank you
TFTC HAHA this was brilliant!!!!!!
This took us a half hour before we decided to look through the other comments then it took another 5 mins or so before we had the “RIGHT CACHE IN HAND” OMG KellyGang you had us scratching, digging & rummaging around in circles!
We awarded this cache a favourite, even though it was frustrating us to no end when we thought, “GOT IT” only to find it was not the actual cache. lol! Well done TheKellyGang! You got us good!
The bloody flies were atrocious & added to our frustration but we managed to locate, sign & date the log.
To the next geo person to venture out to find this cache, GOOD LUCK!

Staying at Port Broughton for a couple of nights. Today was a day to explore the area and pick up a caches as we did. Isn't it great that caching takes you to some places you might not go to and have a look.
Well, well well. Found Gnomey's grave easily enough. [^] Couldn't find the cache. Bugger, gonna have to risk the ghost and search the grave. Found a container and a note from Gnomey who was laughing at me apparently. Then I saw another container nearby. [^] Another note from the laughing Gnomey. Okay Gnomey let me show you what happens when you are abducted by aliens. Still no cache. So we spread out and found yet another container. Yeah Gnomey was still laughing at us. [:(!]
Sat down and started to read logs. [B)] phoned a friend who was no help other than he thought it was near the grave and was indeed a regular size. [B)] Where could it be. When was it hidden. Oh back in THOSE days. On went the light bulb. A further scratch about and the cache was in hand.
Ha ha Gnomey, as the Cos have left me their pathtag in the log book. Just reward for 30 minutes effort.
Fav. point awarded for the effort put into setting up this cache.

Camped here for a few days and decided to try out geocaching this was the 3rd one to find around the area and very tricky. Great work.
Nice stretch for the legs on a long journey but no luck here today. Found three decoys but not the real cache. The flies got the better of us after 20 mins and we hit the road again. Maybe next time ...
I popped by again to see how Gnomey was going
Still resting peacefully
So where did he hide the cache ?? !!
Just like last time I found a few ...
... 'furphies
After half an hour I was ready to give up again !! [:o]
But no !!
I had all afternoon to spend here if necessary.
This cache wasn't going to escape
'Bout 45 minutes later,
and idly standing around,
a thought occurred !!
Where's the damn obvious spot this cache would be hdden ??
Grrrrr !!

Yesterday in Canada was my 1900 find. This find Ghost of Gnomey would have had to be one of the best. Two attempts over 2 days. I sill have the Cruse that was cast apon me on the first attempt,
We really liked this cache, nice to have something a little more interesting than a standard small cache, but the young ones got frustrated easily after thinking they found it, but didn't come up with the final.
We did find the Gnomey, but after some considerable time looking for the real cache gave up.
It wasn't meant to be today. We will have another look another time.

Well, like last time I looked for 20-30 minutes, checking the obvious place, checking the less than obvious places, checking upto 20m from GZ. And still could not put gauntlet to cache, I had pretty much given up, and then, perhaps a glint of morning sunlight, a flash of inspiration, I spied the well camo'd hiding spot. Now you don't see hides this this anymore.
Took poker chips left a little dolphin ,and Double Helix keychain.
Fav point, and thanks for the cache TheKellyGang

Nice one found with Budgie23 whilst having a look around at the different plant species in the park. Clouds of mozzies everywhere, spray before you venture forth! Thanks for the cache, TN left a couple of swaps.
A quick drive today with Stavros and sharkbait, on the hunt for a cache meeting the requirements for the souvenir. Appreciated the effort that has gone into this one, but didn't like the cammo'ing efforts of the last finder as it was more of a difficulty 5. Luckily a past finder could remember where to look when we paffed. TFTC and fav from us
Omg. We have been back here numerous times and eventually needed help to locate this one. What a great cache! Love it. Swapped some goodies. Thank you so much. Will be giving this one a favourite. We have had so many laughs.
Great location. Short drive in to the secluded little spot. Spent a long time searching in the wrong places with Deltaducks before it was found with a little help from a friend. Nasty camouflage, but will still get a favourite from us because of the effort setting up the site. Tftc
Gnomeys final resting place was a nice touch, and certainly put a smile on our faces.
Despite finding three decoy containers, we could not locate the actual cache.
We sure did leave this one feeling disappointed.

After logging our DNF nearly a week ago we had some very welcome help from an unexpected quarter and so today returned to GZ and were able to make a find
Much warmer weather today so a few more flies in the bush
We signed the log and returned the cache and camo and are now able to add a favourite point.
When signing the log on our next find near Port Broughton we realised we hadn't changed the date on our stamp so it is logged as being found in February but should really be March
Many thanks for this sneaky hide TheKellyGang[^][^][^]

We are currently staying in Wallaroo and this morning we headed towards Port Pirie in the hope of nabbing an FTF....which we did
On the way back we found this delightful little Conservation Park (which we wouldn't have known existed if not for geocaching). We enjoyed our lunch at the picnic area and found the two nearby caches and then headed for this one.
We were surprised and delighted at what we found at GZ....3 times in fact but after searching for about forty minutes....and even phoning a friend we didn't come up with the all important log book
Our friend had found the cache about four years previously and couldn't remember the details....what's wrong with the man....he's only found about 11,000 odd caches....you'd think he'd remember this one[:p].
Many thanks anyway TheKellyGang....hopefully we can add a favourite point even if we didn't find, it for all the time and effort that went into this one[^][^][^]

I tried to add a favourite point but it didn't work.....I guess we need the all important smiley face first
What an adventure. First found decoy then found a cache with a small log and thought all done. Half way back to road and thought that's a bit odd for a site like this to not be bigger and returned. I checked log and found it was also in a decoy. Then bingo a larger more obvious decoy and a hex to go with it. Stared getting to dark so returned next day as we stayed at the school grounds. 30 min of looking and about to give up when the sun shine on me and a sparkle from GZ had me on it. All good put contents in another plastic and removed extra log from decoy all ok TFTC.
This one eluded me despite a 20 min look, will be back one day. I'd give a fav but will hold off until it is found and signed.
Found on a trip that was supposed to be a quick one but turned into a caching trip with all smileys no DNFS TFTC!
Looked for a while but had to go as I was running out of charge and had walked. Have to come back again it's a beautiful site.
I see dead gnomes.

I followed the wrong track into here methinks.
And from a point on the boundary of the park, about 200 metres away, I strolled through the delightful scrub to reach GZ.
It was very hot today in the early afternoon sun, so I was praying for a quick find here
I soon discovered GZ and poor olde Gnomey !! [:o]
Several decoys were discovered to !! [:o]
After the fourth decoy my decision was made !!
A DNF for me today after 40 minutes of scratching about in mid thirty degree temps
RIP Gnomey !!

From woe to go we spent 2 hours here. The first track we tried from the old oval got too hard for the campervan so we turned around. The 2nd track took us to within about 30 metres of GZ.
We found 3 decoys but no cache.
The only good thing to come out of our search was that about 200 mosquitos and 1000 ants were killed in the non-finding of this cache.
Thanks, loved the effort here and even though it was too clever for us am giving this a favourite point.

Found Gnomey & 2 decoys but ran out of light. Will come back another day and search more
Found as a part of TheKellyGang, writing this as a genaric log as I was a part of TheKellyGang and am now out on my own.
If you do not agree with this you are more than welcome to delete the log.

Fantastic.
We found (we think) all the decoys, including the one near the tree (low) with a couple of logs in it. Naughty naughty.
We knew it had to be close to GZ so eventually, when nearly giving up, something was spotted. Very nice. Guys, persist, keep looking and you will see it. It is a regular regular. Believe it or not.
RIP Mr Gnome.
A rare astro fav awarded.
Clear skies to TheKellyGang from TeamAstro.

We have been wanting to get back to find this one since May `13. Thanks to the hint given. So easy. we should have found it the first time around....
No flies today. Just little ants and dry wards weed.
Great hide...love these type of hides.

found Gnomey.. picked up and photographed before reading the contents of the "official geocache" container .. hmmmmm looked around immediate area but didnt know what to look for. that and the billion extremely friendly flies driving myself and Sj insane we retreated and scored a DNF .. we SHALL return.. at night methinks... no flies
Life's too short apparently, so I embarked on a cache run from Crystal Brook to Spalding. 3 roos, 5 rabbits, 23 finds and quite a few DNF's (though that's expected on an unexpected warm night in the country in December). This was one of those DNF's. Found 1 decoy but didn't find anything else. Grr...
Found 3 decoys - but not the real thing. Now, after giving it some thought, we reckon we know where it is [:(!] Unfortunately it is unlikely we will be going through there any time soon
Was't confident given the number of DNF's. Found three spoilers before finding the cache which I just sighted and can say was "rain assisted". TNLNSL TFTC
Was mainly checking the road in to see what it was like as didn't have a lot of time to attempt it but was easy enough to get in and ended up fairly close and walked the last little bit into the cache then gave it a quick 5 minute look as it was all the time I had and I think I found all but the actual cache. Time ran out so had to leave but will return and finish off the find.
We tried to find this on back in the warmer weather, but forgot to sign DNF. It was too hot and too many flies so we gave it away.
We have just spent the day cruising in the RAA Cavelcade from Wallaroo , Moonta, Port Hughes to Kadina.
What a great day.
Thought we would try to find this one again,..flies still here but still DNF
