After reading a previous note in relation to this cache, and having previously spent several goes before actually finding it, I thought I would call past it - This was a very clever hide and had lasted a long time given that it is so in the open = On checking the cache today it is definitely missing -

Very clever hide but it also astounds me how it has survived so long! Upon my approach, and with someone special on my mind, I thought I may have needed Godzilla's! height to make any kind of successful find. How wrong I was. SL but it is quite damp. TFTC

Found with Fox in Jox. We were in a hurry to get back to the nation's lovely capital, but couldn't resist this as we were driving right past it. I thought to myself that if we couldn't find it in 5 minutes then we'd just have to give up.
Luckily I saw something that didn't quite belong after about a minute. TFTC!

11-Jun-16
Took less time than I thought, but a very sneaky hide. TFTC

11-Jun-16
A mini posse comprising Fox in Jox, Noikmeister, TikvaNZ, ZQX and I headed south on a wet Saturday to grab the 9 tree climb caches at Walla Walla and few more around Wagga Wagga on our way north again. We had a selection of preferred DT and puzzle caches in mind. We did not find all of them, but we had great time anyway. I ended up with 3 DT caches I wanted for the day. After ZQX and Fox left early to head home, the remainder of us cached on for a bit until we ran out of daylight.

We decided to head home after finding a couple more caches, but could not resist grabbing a couple on the way out of town. This was an interesting DT combination, so we stopped for a look. mmmm, that looks interesting - see it? Right there! It took a little coaxing out of its resting place, but glad we managed it before it got too dark at 1700 to make cache number 16 for the day. Thanks Adombr01 for the bonus cache! We see our caching buddies also got this one before they left town!

11-Jun-16
Found at 4:55:00 PM with TikavaNZ and AngelG27

I was SURE I had found this cache before, but looking back I can see that it was a DNF in 2013 rather than a find. Today it was dead easy. I even anticipated the container type.

Thanks adombr01

#6371 @1655
Today's caching mission with Fox in Jox, AngelG27, Noikmeister and ZQX had been in the planning for a while, with the aim to collect a bevy of high difficulty/terrain caches to fill some holes in our respective D/T grids. We left Canberra just after 0630, arriving in Walla Walla just after 1000. We had some rain on the way but all was clear by the time we started caching. After completing the Tree Climb series we started the journey home via some caches to find in Wagga Wagga.

This one was recommended by Fox in Jox and ZQX who headed home earlier than us and found this on their way out of town. Armed with a bit of useful information it was a quick find. TFTC.

11-Jun-16
Team FANTZ (Fox in Jox, AngelG27, Noikmeister, TikvaNZ & ZQX) undertook a road-trip from the ACT for the day to collect the series of nine tree climbs in Walla Walla and several puzzles and trads in and around Wagga Wagga. A fun and successful outing.

Had to get back to Canberra, so had to split the FANTZ team. FZ left early, while ANT stuck around Wagga for some more caches. It was me who needed to get back for parenting duties, but a D4T2 right alongside our route out of Wagga was irresistible. We gave ourselves 5 minutes to find, otherwise we would let it be, but after 1 minute, ZQX spotted something and we had our container. A quick sign, in the car and off to Canberra with a nice DT combo in hand. TFTC adombr01

10603. Found during a caching run down to the Wagga region this ANZAC Day long weekend.

Day 2 of my trip and I was really enjoying the drive around Wagga. I'm sure I've looked for this one every trip I've made to Wagga ! Today I finally uncovered the little sucker - very happy with that ! Nice hide. Log was signed, cache returned and I headed off to the next one.

Thanks adombr01 !

Had looked for this one before, had to use a phone a friend option and came up with the goods.

15-Apr-16
Came to Wagga to attend an event, so making a weekend of it. Thought we would grab this at night when there were less muggles about. It took quite some searching to finally be able to find this little sucker. The terrain rating had us looking higher than was needed.
Thanks adombr01 for placing & maintaining the cache for us to find.

The Moose can't resist a tricky find, and his powers of perseverance long outlast mine. So it was that just when I was about to say, let's go, he made the find! A tricky little find that we were glad to get under our belt before traveling south, in the end it was just a matter of checking EVERY plausible spot. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.

04-Apr-16
I was not going to let this one beat me, especially after seeing a recent find logged on it - I was determined that if it was there I was going to locate it. This is a great hide and extremely well hidden cache. I'm amazed that it has actually lasted there for so long - The cache is still in good condition and it appears that it once had some type of ring connected to it but that is no longer there. Mine is the only signature on what is otherwise a blank log currently in the cache, so someone at some point has changed log sheets. The log paper is damp and very fragile. I replaced it exactly in the spot I found it and replaced the camo - Log signed 1310 4/4/16 TFTC but very evil lol

Another DNF. Pretty sure it's gone. I messaged the CO a fortnight ago but nil response.

19-Mar-16
Repeated DNFs, including someone with a hint from a previous finder.

19-Mar-16
Lots of DNFs over an extended period

No reliable found logs in quite some time

19-Mar-16
No luck here today despite extensive and careful searching from the base of the monument outwards. We found a cap which might've been from a micro cache but no cache. Definitely needs checking by the CO or if they're not active anymore or not willing to maintain it, it should be archived so someone else can put a cache here.

We started off with 4 of us searching (my geowife, geoson and niece). After 20 minutes of very careful searching, we were joined by my brother and sister in law and my two nephews. 8 of us searched pretty much everywhere so it's most likely gone. Needs to be checked ASAP so people don't waste their time here

01-Mar-16
Well this is my 4th visit to this cache and armed with fresh hints from Fred6603 & Roostaman I thought I would have another look although I believed I had looked very carefully in all the areas around - I looked long, very low and carefully this time and still nothing to be seen - I really believe that this cache is no longer in place. The lawn maintenance in this area has been very lax - The grass has overgrown the concrete base in most areas of the object

17-Feb-16
Well this one looks really tricky. We looked around for a while at all the obvious spots but no success. We'll be back.

On a short ride with KAT & Bushtrakkers - Tried getting 4 sets of eyes to have another look for this cache - unfortunately couldn't find it yet again. Spent a fair amount of time on this one today but it must have great camo or not there anymore

12-Nov-15
This is my third visit to this site and spent some time there today - I used the GZ location and also used the adjusted location provided by others - which were only a few metres apart - I don't think this cache is still there (or it is the best camo ever) - I've looked all over the monument and there is no other place within 10 to 15 metres around this spot - It is in an open area and there has been some work done on the monument and the grounds in the past 6 to 8 months -

No luck here today, despite extensive searching by Strangetrousers and myself in the searing heat. Couldn't make any sense of the hint. Previous logs said to look low but that didn't help either unfortunately. We searched the monument, field and nearby trees, no luck.

Today B737 & I made a return trip to Wagga Wagga as we notice the RGGT trail had been maintained. I was behind the wheel this time with B737 as navigator. Jetfusalage stayed at home manning the playstation. We'd missed about 9 of the series last time & were keen to complete it. Today it was quite a bit warmer than our last trip & it was interesting to see how the scene had changed. This time it was much drier and we had our first experience of grass seeds in the socks for the summer. We really like Wagga Wagga. It's clearly a prosperous country centre with heaps of caches. But it's quite hard to plan a route around an unfamiliar town. We had a knack of seeking all the most difficult or missing caches and spending way too much time looking for them. We'll just have to come back I guess.

We came, we looked, but came up empty handed. Another miss. We spent ages trying to find this one, but nothing even remotely looked like a possible hide. We had luch after giving up on this one. I think we were a bit down by this stage as we'd missed a couple.

Thanks anyway adombr01

If this one is still there then it beat me. At the GZ coordinates we found that a tree has been recently removed. Is this the reason for my failure I wonder!!??

Up in the area doing some caches with mlroberts73, after dinner we decided to head out around town & see what we could find.
This one was on the list, I wasn't sure how we'd go in the dark with this one.
After a quick look around, I spotted something, sure enough it was the pesky little micro.
Signed the log feeling pretty happy with ourselves.
Back to the car & off we went for more laughs & high fives.
Enjoyed this little cache!
Thanks for the fun.

Found by Mary & David at 1435. Came here the other day but left with a DNF. After coffee and a tiny clue from the Roostaman, we returned for another try. Still took a few minutes before we found it. An amazing cache, and worth a favourite. A great location, too, for a pair of ex-RAAFies. Our thanks to adombr01.

08-Mar-15
Had what we thought was a good look around, and read past logs for clues too, but to no avail. Our thanks anyway to adombr01.

Found @ 8:43pm

This was the second find on a walk from my hotel - I found this one while collecting information for Roostaman's "Central - Wagga Bridge #6",

My GPSr had me some 10m away from where I eventually found the cache (I've added the co-ords I got). I circled the obvious area a couple of times before poking something and there it was! Neatly hidden, thanks again adombr01, this is the second cache of yours I have found on this trip.

I made the find after trying an experimental extraction technique and it paid off. So happy not to have this one plaguing me in the future. South Australian OZ Mega 2014 in Murray Bridge. A Twelve day trip to and from the mega. Plenty of caching along the way and near Murray bridge. A great time with lots of cachers all over the place to make for a very entertaining period.

Have DNF'd this one a couple of times....and thought I was going to do it again, however on about the 10 lap, the little bugger was spied. Was a little uncovered (bit of rain and wind no doubt) but after signing the log and replacing it, a little natural camo was added.....and all looked good.

Thanks adombr01.......always enjoy visiting a plane on a stick, so glad to have finally grabbed this one.

The long weekend has arrived for us Canberrans, so what better way to spend it than to team up once again with Rapidlywild and set off for Wagga and surrounds for what was to be another epic geomission? Big Grin

RW did the driving-so we just had to make sure she was topped up with water and “Mother” from the esky to keep her going safely, whilst I provided the entertainment lol Big Grin[:O)] We had a great day’s caching on Saturday, and Sunday’s effort ended in an epic 22hr day at 7am Monday when we arrived back home with a swag of finds and big caching hangover lol. Craziness! Big Grin[:O)]

Well after refueling ourselves with lunch, we were off to start the search at this one. We've always admired this cool plane every time we've driven past during our geomissions, so we were pleased to see this one was back online again in time for our latest visit Big Grin Well at GZ we searched a few of the usual places at first then I thought I'd focus my search on the less usual spots. Just as RW was in the middle of a PAF, I spied the sneaky little bugger! Never seen one of those hidden like that before! Fave from me for the clever hide and the plane! Smile

Thanks for the hide, adombr01 Smile

A long weekend in the ACT, well that only means 1 thing..... GO CACHING !!! So it was specimenX and myself off again, target - Wagga Wagga, Junee and Gundagai. We headed off on Saturday morning and collected along our travels. We spent the Saturday and Sunday caching around Wagga Wagga and Junee then we moved over to Gundagai on Sunday night and didn't get home until 7:00am on Monday morning.

We visited the Monte Cristo Homestead which was awesome and also visited the Junee Chocolate Factory which was also an experience. On the Saturday, the Junee Chocolate Factory got their name into the Guinness Book Of Records with the longest string of liquorice attempt (well over 519m which is the current record) and we were advised they were successful. How cool is that? We brought some chocolate of course and continued our travels.

As we usually do on our adventures, we visited lots of cemeteries and we actually visited one that gave us the real creeps, which doesn't usually happen to us. All in all we had a brilliant weekend and we are definitely suffering a caching hangover today. Lots of laughs, lots of stupidness and an all round great weekend Smile

Onto the cache:
After a spot of lunch, we decided to head back over to this one and have another crack. We have attempted this one in the past however it was missing. This time, after searching for a while then calling in a PAF, we managed to locate the cache. Very sneaky. Smile

Thanks for placing this cache for us to collect adombr01 Big Grin

This was located less than 300m from our accommodation, so it was an irresitible late night walk. And we always enjoy an aeroplane on a stick! Mr Winglen seemed to be on a roll today, finding all the tricky ones, and he had this one in less than five minutes although the gps seemed to be pointing a little further away. Certainly a different type of hide, thanks adombr01.

Reperio at 2130.

After completing the RGGT series...I headed off to where we were staying...but while driving by this one...I thought I'd jump out for a quick look. Having found the previous caches that have been here over the years...I went through and checked all the usual places only to find nothing. In seeing that the cache was recently replaced...I expected it to still be there...so referred to the hint...and narrowed down my search until finally the cache was revealed. The hide certainly is a tricky one...and I guess for a cache to survive here...it has to be.

Gratias adombr01.

Repaired. I only get to Wagga once in a while so sorry for the delay...

There is camouflage. If you find the cache please ensure it is replaced with camouflage - failure to do this may be why it was lost in the first place.
