After attending the Awards Event it was time to find some caches. Its was quite a day of mixed fortunes with 3 DNFs, a couple of mint tins and some rippers. This was one of the latter an we had it fairly quickly. TFTC
Grabbed a few hours sleep after night shift and just made it to the event with The Morris (well half of them) and BettyBoo3747. Grabbed a few caches around the area before depositing The Morris at her station.
The carpark was fairly full, but not a lot of people in the street (they were probably trying to get out of the supermarket!)
The GPSr didn't like the close proximity of the buildings, but there were not a lot of places to hid it.
Nice spot.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 5748. After attending the Vic. Cache of the Year Event, Robmc, The Morris and I continued to add some more smilies to our afternoon. This was one of 10 smilies and an unfortunate 3 DNF's for me today.
Sure not fond of these shopping centre searches but it was getting later in the day and quietening down somewhat. I had already checked the spot where Rob found it a couple of times. Soooo annoying when that happens. A nice hide and all is well with the cache (as you would know, having just completed another maintenance check).
Thanks Dog-gone

Walking past today and noticed the top cover was missing and couldn't find it nearby... Logbook still in place at this time...
I had to pick up a couple of things from the supermarket on the way home so I forwent my local shop and made a slight detour to this cache instead. Living on the wild side, I know. I appreciated the illustrations in the description for this one - fortunately the bad weather and late hour kept the usual prying eyes at bay. It certainly does seem like a fitting home for the great Dame Edna Everage - who incidentally has a street named after her just a couple of hundred metres from this hide. Anyway, the cache was easily spotted but I still had to choose my moment for the pick up - and I may have been forced to buy a donut at the nearby bakery to cover my lurking. Thanks Dog-gone, for the cache and the calories.
2/09/13 1:45 PM Find #2563 I came out this way hoping to have lunch nearby - in fact I got lunch directly opposite GZ which gave me a good vantage point to scope out the location. On this fine sunny day there were plenty of people about but they were all too busy to notice me make the find. Thanks Dog-gone. Another bold hide and a good series.
My son couldn't believe that was it, it was so visible. Gee I wish #8 was this easy! Cheers from Canada. TFTC
Needed a quick cache find as I was on the way to a meeting, lucky for me I was straight onto it, great hide, deserves a fav. for pure cahoonas..

This was in full view and we wondered if it was supposed to be like that. Still, I guess most people wouldn't know what it was - they're all too busy rushing around doing their own stuff. A good area for a coffee we thought, and a nice cake. TFTC.
Out for my first night cache run, so much better than being home in front of the TV. An enjoyable night out with Cycling Guy and MollyMee. This cache enticed us with it's favourite count. Not too many people around, but we needed the clue to help make the find. A sneaky little hide only spotted on my third at look that spot! Fav added. TFTC.
Found this on a very successful night run with Cycling_Guy and Team KSBTJ around the Greater Melbourne area. This one caused us a bit of a problem as so many muggles were across the road at a restaurant, looking on and the nearby BWS was busy! Team KSBTJ thought she had found the most likely place, but only found old wrappers. Then finally she got inspired to try a very ordinary looking place and hey presto, she had it in hand. Great hide, very clever and very brazen considering the location! TFTC
Couldn't find this one today. The wind meant that there were no people watchers but I just had cache blindness here and my gps was playing up. I will be back again.
Out night-caching with MysteriousMrX. This was our first fantastic find for the night. Dog-gone never fails to satisfy. Thanks!
I loved this one. Fortunately we went on a cold night, and all the old people were nice and cozy, snuggled up in bed.
Mid Sunday afternoon there were still muggles but probably not as many as normal. In the end the cache was in a spot that would have allowed for reasonable retrieval with more muggles around. A clever hide thanks Dog-gone.
In the west again orienteering (second last before the winter break), and caching.
Had trouble here previously with muggle traffic but tonight it was so god damb cold. Quick find with prior reconnaissance.

First day of a geocaching holiday. Arrived in Melbourne at 8-00am, taxi to pick up my rental then into some caching!
Nice cache find here - busy area good hide. SL TFTC

Walked up to GZ and thought to myself 'that has to be it' stood there with a coffee and phone in hand and tried to look bored. Then 2 old ladies stopped in front of me to have a chat (in Italian) so I took the opportunity under their cover and grabbed the cache. The 2 old Italian ladies didn't even notice me as they were discussing the specials in Safeway and then they were discussing their ailments. So I signed and replaced the cache during the opportunistic cover. Then I spied something awesome across the street in the toy shop window....big ceramic astro boys!!! Wow! Cool! Thanks for the clever cache dog-gone!!!! Very stealth indeed!
I met up tonight with my fellow Demolition Crew mates Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and Blacklegend for another fun filled night of caching. We didn't have a large number of finds tonight as we picked up quite a few time consuming caches as well as stopping to pick up caches that some of us had already found previously and some of us hadn't. It was a good way though for each of us to finally clear out some areas.
There were a few muggles about tonight having some late meals up the road but foot traffic was minimal. I spotted what possibly could be the hide on approach and I was right. A nice bold hide too. Nice one.

As I made my way to GZ I was ticking over what will it be.
As it turned out I expected a little diferent.
Foot traffic was high.
But no-one was sitting in site.
While I "chatted on the phone" the cache was retrieved logged and returned.
Another brazen hide.

Spotted it....then decided it wasnt....went back to it tried agaib...still decided it wasnt it... then Baluke spied it tried it and of course it was it and he discovered the right way to attack it. TFTC
Another great cache, kudos again dog gone! Had us bouncing around trying to look inconspicuous and trying again on the only thing it could be! Cheers, live your work. Fav
Found 2:00pm , find # 1894
Today I met with a couple of old school friends for lunch.
This was our first meeting for 24 years so it was it was an enjoyable occasion which I topped off with a few caches afterwards.
This one was the 2nd of 3 finds before I left for home.
I was very pleased to see a Shopping Frenzy cache located not too far away, so I made a beeline for it.
I was lucky enough to get a car park immediately opposite GZ which amazing in such a busy area.
Then I was again lucky when the first possible hiding location I tested revealed the cache.
Thanks Dog-gone.

Trying to keep my streak alive is getting harder and harder to do each work day. This was found pretty quickly when H dragged me away from something else. Thanks for the cache dog-gone.

Found while in town for appointments. Great day for caching but we were a little concerned when we saw just how many people were in around GZ. But we found this one quickly but the fun was getting the cache and signing........but all done and secured. Noticed a few familiar names had visited recently pitty we missed seeing them whilst here. Great coffee and seafood crepes across the road. Had to take our time checking out GZ before making our move SL TNLN T4TC
Quick find this evening after the GPS finally decided to play ball and settle down.
From a previous life, I recognised what probably didn't belong, and made the find.
Keep these great hides coming Dog-Gone, loving the challenges.

Cycling back from Altona Meadows on my New Years Day detox ride I remembered this cache and that it was best attempted outside normal hours. Well, 10am on New Years Day qualified, and I was able to lean my bike very near the cache as I signed the log. Very few about indeed.
Always a high quality find Dog-gone. Thanks and cheers!

Dog-gone has gone and done it again with yet another creative, imaginative hide. With very little muggle traffic on a boxing day afternoon, we came up with the goods. found with l>
cheers for the cache.
cheers for the cache.
Plenty of muggles shopping on a sunny Sunday, however it was all passing footpath traffic and nobody was sitting down watching me. So it was easy enough to find/sign/replace the cache.
Suscoe's 10th find on a day out in the big smoke!
Well our GPS was deciding to be about 20 metres out today and we were walking down the road when we were clearly having coffee near by.
So a good bit of consideration of what Dog-gone has done to and for us in the past and Mrs. S said :"that will be it!" and of course it was.
So a bit of pretend communication work was done while the cache was retreived and signed and returned.
All good and yet another top caching adventure due to a Dog-gone hide!
Well done as usual! A Fav from us for the sheer challenge.

It was very busy and there was no break in the foot traffic, so I left it. I did spot something that I thought was possibly it, but didn't have the courage to test my theory. Thanks for the hide, and hopefully I can return at a quieter time.
A little too busy for my liking today.
And there seemed to be a dog protecting the spot I thought was liking for the GZ, and this dog wasn't a happy one when I approached.
Maybe next time I will have some more luck.

Surprisingly quiet when I came past... Everyone must have been inside contributing to economic growth. Spotted a likely place from across the road and for a change the guess proved correct... Nicely done. Thanks.
My gps pointed me to a particular spot, and I thought 'can it really be there?'. Sure enough it was! If you're going to make a hide in such a busy area, that's the way to do it!
Found this one on a somewhat quiet Sunday morning in the area.
Had to wait for a while to retrieve this one as a lady was parked in her right opposite gz for a while.
Eventually retrieved it, signed log and returned it.

How busy is this spot!!! Excellent camo with hide in full view. Thank you for the cache.
Another Monday night and another legendary TDC night run in the Melbourne area, this time primarily out west. Lots of laughs on the way, and lots of great caches found, my thanks to the CO's for all the caches placed. About 30 finds personally for the night, and as always had a great time.
With loads of experience on the team, it was found pretty quick. Still enjoying your hides Dog-gone. TFTC.

This was, cache # 8 of 36 finds for the night out with my good caching mates TrailRunning and Blacklegend on another of our Monday night adventures. The gps was not much good here but experience payed of and i soon spotted it. My thanks to Dog-gone for the cache.
Another quiet Monday night comes by and it's time to go caching with some good friends Blacklegend and Rebel Acts. Tonight’s run takes us to the northern and western suburbs to clean up newly published caches in those areas. Personally it was a tally of 28 caches for the night, but we visited many more than that and it’s not about the numbers right, it’s about the journey.
The boys were in fine form, and we had a few laughs. There were many good caches tonight, and all thanks goes to the CO’s who took the time to place the caches.
I've always thought the name Puckle was a funny one. This time it was no exception. Eric had the cache soon after we arrived and we were off again, searching for more treasure. Cheers.

Was in the Essendon area today and needed to find a couple of caches to fill in an empty day on the calendar. I've found one of these Shopping Frenzy series before and I knew they are quality, so I was looking forward to doing another. It didn't let me down..!
Late on a Sunday afternoon the area around GZ was fairly quiet so I was able to search without attracting much attention. After examining a wide area I trusted the display on my iPhone and narrowed the search. When I found the sneaky hide I muttered something not printable. Awesome camo!
Very enjoyable and great work on the cache container, I can't wait to do more of these. It earns a favorite and a 4/5 score. Thanks Dog-gone.

While in area found tonight all exposed to public. Returned to original condition and now is all well. Just helping out Dog-gone
There is a fine line between failure and success but the emotions are huge. This was one of them.
In a beautifully brand new silver bison tube how hard could it be to find? Far to hard for B1 and wanting to leave the site after several attempts around various visits to the local shops. Step in B2 to the rescue after B1 had completely gone made at this new venue. Too many things to be wary of here. People love to watch bananas making fools of themselves and let me tell you B1 provided plenty of entertainment today.
Thanks Dog-gone as this one is a ripper.

I reckon half the muggles in your series of photos were in attendance when I came past here today.
I knew this would be a good hide as it was the 5th shopping frenzy I have found.
Very nicely done and this is caching Dog-gone style!
Thanks

Not too hard of a find here today. I psyched myself up to be tested on this one, and was not dissapointed.
A truly devious hide!! The only thin giving it away is that the camo is a tad fresher than its surroundings.
Once I had located the hide, I was preparing to extract the cache, keeping an eye out for muggles, when I noticed a person walk by with some device, looking at it closely. I recognised the Cache dance pretty much straight away, and decided to walk away and see what ensued. After a few minutes, the cacher started to close in on the area, feeling unwatched, and this was when I made my move, walked up and said gday.. It was good to meet a fellow cacher, Alsume (I think from memory) We chatted for a bit, then I let him try to find the cache. Dont think I really gave anything away, and it was soon found.
To help make the extraction a bit easier, I walked out near the street and looked up at the shop corner intently, drawing anyones attention to myself. A tip to others, numbers may help here....
Log was soon signed and then time to move on.
Thanks for a great hide dog-gone... Definately worth a favourite.
Cheers Gordo

Have walked past this spot many times in the past, but when I got here today there were lots of people around, and one in particular who seemed to be hanging around more than the rest. When my GPSr was not cooperating and I wasn't getting any closer, he approached me - and it was g_ordo, also looking for the same cache, which he had spotted but not grabbed, probably because I was looking suspicious nearby!
Anyway I grabbed it at 10:30am as g_ordo attempted some distraction moves on the passing muggles.
thanks Dog-gone, I seem to be having a doggy day today!

After spending a lot of time in the Bayside area recently, Burge and I decided it was time to head back around Melbourne's West (although we were now starting to head further North) to pick up some of the newer caches in the area. We were targeting traditionals and amazingly this was DNF number 7 for the evening on a night that produced nearly as many DNF's as it did finds!
The GPSr had us all over the place looking for this cache. I think the nearby buildings were throwing off the readings. Even at this time of night there were still quite a few passers by and despite our best efforts, we were unable to locate this one. We'll be back to give it another try soon.

Timing... I noticed the email as I geared up to head off to update some classroom PCs for the new term. Moonee Ponds was not such a big detour.
An hour after the notification, it was not a big surprise to round the corner from the carpark and see the cacher dance being performed. So pwags and I started a combined search at the coordinates, checked out a couple of dodgy possibilities, then widened a little, before the find was made. Another worthy Dog-gone hide, and another 2TF.
As cachers will, we then stood and yakked for a bit, surprised that nobody else had rocked up, when, just as we were about to leave, I spotted Mr and Mrs iamapom approaching from Puckle St. A short game of 'hot and cold' later, they added their squiggle to the log.
It's always fun meeting other players in what is a largely solitary activity. Thanks for the chat, pwags, and I'll get around to redeeming that voucher in my possession soon, Carl. I promise.
Now I guess I'd better get back to those computers.

*FTF* 5:30pm. Saw the email notifying me of a new Dog-gone cache only 5km away, so jumped in the car, knowing I had a good chance. As promised in the listing, there were people everywhere at GZ, but I persisted, including lying on the ground and getting strange looks from passers-by. Hey, this was a FTF hunt, anything goes! After 10 minutes of hunting, a smiling face appeared, and nirgel_au joined the search - great to meet you! Another 10 minutes of checking everything at GZ, including the dead bird, and eventually my hands were on the cache, a place I'd checked and touched a few times before I realized it was the cache. Beautifully hidden, blends in perfectly. And managed to score the $5 FTF prize while I was at it - bonus! Shortly after the find, another familiar face approached, so we watched iamapom's search, helped along by hot/cold hints and a few chuckles as he got close. I've had a big couple of weeks of Dog-gone caches, and enjoyed them all. Luckily I have lots of favorite points available, so here's another one for the collection. Love your work!

3TF. As soon as I saw the notification for this one at home, Mrs Iamapom put some pants on (tracksuit pants are not acceptable street wear!), and we jumped in the car as zoomed over to the GZ. We aren't that familiar with Moonee Ponds area of cachers, so I wasn't sure if anyone local would be there. Well it was 7.4km to GZ, and we had to pass through 822,000 sets of traffic lights (all red and sloooooooow) and level crossing (on red of course). So by the time we arrived at GZ there were a couple of well known faces there, who apparently live a lot closer than we do ! Had a quick chat, and was shown the FTF prize by pwags !! A short hunt, and as soon as I placed my hand on the well camoed cache there was a very loud giggle. Ok, that's it then. Signed log. Thanks for the cache and the dead bird.
