The structure under which this was hidden has been demolished. All that is left is a brown patch of square earth. We talked with a member of the yacht club who confirmed that the cache was under the demolished structure. I don't know where the cache is now. I hope you find somewhere new to put a cache as this is a great location. Thanks. Mce.

Very sad to report a DNF on this cache this morning. We believe this cache to be missing in action due to the removal of the large item hiding the cache as confirmed to us by a previous finder. SadSad

Had a little trouble spotting the location of this one, as there is so many possible locations. When I turned around I thought, "just maybe", and then I saw a little prize poking its head out. Nice hide and thanks for the fun.

18-Dec-13
A bit of stealth required to retrieve this one today as the workers were had at it on the deck of the club. It was nice to sit at the waters edge while signing the log. All returned as found.

Our honeymoon took us for 5 weeks to Australia. We started the trip in Sydney and drove to Port Douglas. Here we spent three glorious days. After an impressive trip to the Great Barrier Reef where we snorkeled, we walked a bit through the town. On the way back to the campsite we were looking for a few caches. This one was there. We had to wait for a moment, in which the gardener, who was mowing the lawn, turned away from us. Then came the quick access.

We enjoyed our time in Port Douglas very much.
Thanks for the cache.

Greetings from Germany!

Here on holiday to see the Great Barrier Reef. I convinced my mom to come do a couple caches with me. We wandered through the restaurant and to the waters edge. Mom made the find, but we needed stealth to retrieve it as the smoking area was full of muggles. Great spot with a great view. TFTC

Found on the NQ leg of our Round Aust trip, see blog - http://mrlocks.tumblr.com/
We had a busy day in Port Douglas today first riding on the steam train then wandering around the markets before heading in to town to find something for lunch and then some shopping for our dinner, later we went for a walk to find a few caches.
Today is the last day for the kids Coco_01 [11ys] and Charlie 4 [8yrs] to collect finds for the Great Australian Scouts Geocaching Competition,
Wow talk about muggly, I had to be super sneaky to grab this one while under the watchful eyes of Dozens of patrons of the club, sitting next to the hide pretending to take photos with my GPS/phone, lol

Felt like I was trespassing (whoops) but retrieved cache no worries after a bit of a search. Restaurant wasn't open so that was good and the cleaner didn't seem to mind me walking around. Cache was easily seen which helped for a quick retrieve and an even faster exit. Beautiful spot, would like to come back for a meal sometime. TFTC Big Grin

Cool, well hidden. A couple of muggles having a drink so hard to grab. Got it though, after a while wating. Took coin left sharpener.

20-Aug-13
Found with Kool Running while visiting from the South Coast of WA. Time for a couple of caches after spending a fantastic day out on the reef. Cache was spotted without too much looking. Decided to leave in place without signing the log due to the number of muggles enjoying an evening drink.

This was the fourth of seven caches I found while I was out this morning.

Thanks KstarTours for taking me around some of the less familiar parts of town.

I obviously turned up at just the right time as there was no-one in the bar to watch me at all. Had to hide myself from a couple of workmen but that was all. TFTC

13-Jun-13
Found it, but was unable to retrieve it due to the muggles in the bar looking out this way.

11-Jun-13
In the area with Fangsoki and this one made us feel mighty uncomfortable. It seems this is a backyard of a boat club of some sort and far too close to the house in my opinion. Thankfully there was nobody around but when the GPSr pointed to the feature where the cache is hidden I was not excited. Although I made the grab and wonder how the thing has managed to last here for any period of time. A quick sign of the logbook and we were gone. TFTC KstarTours Smile

11-Jun-13
Out and about with Captain Terror for some caches, we dropped into this one next.

I felt a bit uneasy as we rolled into GZ for this one. Then I saw GZ - and got even more worried. I sincerely hope the workers in there know about the cache. Captain Terror marched on toward GZ and made the swoop.

With the log signed, we made off. TFTC KstarTours Smile

#1487 9th of 17 caches we found locally while holidaying in the Port Douglas area. Great to see quite a few new caches have been laid since we were here last year. Had to wait while a chap got organised and went out fishing right from GZ. Cache was in plain sight. Thanks again KstarTours.

Greetings from Mandurah, Western Australia, visiting in a cruise ship for the day, and spent a few hours of it on shanks pony, following the KstarTours cache trail. All the traditionals were nice and easy finds, with a lot of them visible on approach. Rehid them as best I could, although found it impossible to hide this one properly. Much dust and noise coming from the new yacht club with renovations underway, quite a contrast to the original club, that's for sure!
Thanks for the tour and the cache, KstarTours.

Find #536

Decided that despite the fact that I have had a blast in Port Douglas, the fact that I had only found one cache was far too few. A declaration was made to the family that this issue needed addressing and the geoniors were happy to stay with Mum in the pool. Frankly, it's easier for me this way, so that was fine with me too.

A quick short circuit of Port Douglas was in order.

Wandered towards ground zero dismayed by the huge array of muggles. Nevertheless, I persevered and soon spotted the hide. Thankfully I also saw that I was able to wander around the corner and make the retrieval, log sign and replacement unnoticed.

Thanks for the cache and the fun!

Visiting and enjoying Port Douglas from Oregon, with brother and sister-in-law from California. Nice to get some caching worked into our sightseeing. Easy find, cache in good shape. Thanks for placing these caches. I either dropped a Viking Ship TB here or Muddy Inlet. I logged that I dropped it in Muddy Inlet.

A short visit to Port Douglas for a few days after visiting mum in Townsville for her 80th birthday.

These caches took me on a great 2 hour walk past the marina and there are certainly some pricey yachts in here. Had to wait a while before logging this as a muggle was rowing out to his boat and kept his eyes on me the whole time. He eventually turned around to board his yacht and the log was quickly signed and off.

Thanks for the cache KstarTours

Found while visiting Port Douglas from Melbourne for the first time.
The original building here is amazing. We ate at the club last night and it was a good meal and perhaps cheaper than the rest of town. The club was full of local characters playing pool.

The find was easy with no one around except people having a drink in the club but we were able to retrieve and replace the cache without being seen.

Thanks KstarTours Smile
