This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Multiple DNF's on this cache and speaking to fellow cachers, the consensus is that it should be archived as the owner's no longer live in NZ and it is no longer being maintained. Thanks.
Like so many before us, we couldn't find this cache. Is it still there? We are going to an event tonight and will check with some previous finders to get some more info. If one of them is able to check the cache and confirm it's there would be good as CO doesn't seem to be active locally anymore. If it's not there it needs archiving.
caching today with Hinemoana, we spent a significant amount of time searchng here, with no luck.
We missed gz on the way back, but decided to come and check on the way back to the car. A good search turned up nothing. Can this one please be checked?
I still struggle with the 'random spot among the trees' caches, and my GPS kept jumping all over the place, so gave up after 15 minutes and continued with the walk up the hill
Muuch too hard for me today, a few choices of GZ and I see that readings can be flakey
Will be back - maybe

Just one among many I didn't find today.
Just what's wrong with caches around here?
...
Oh NOW I get it...
I'm actually in the Truman Show, and they didn't anticipate me to spontaneously change my route to up here today, which is why they forgot hiding the caches up here in time.
It would certainly explain why I didn't find any of the 7 caches I attempted up here - my longest DNF-streak so far by far - but subsequently found all the caches I attempted on my way back.

Grrrr - almost gave up on this one with GPS all over the place! As always, persistence pays off and we spotted The One and left smiling. TFTC - very nice!
I am working on getting my calendar up to three, which means two caches each today and Sunday. So I decide to go to Nelson as I need all the local Blenheim caches for midweek finds. And then Taybeedragon rings up and invites me to dinner. No, I'm going to Nelson for the weekend, staying there. So she turn up at my door and says "I'm coming!" So off to her place, collect Zara Bus and off we go.
Parked here and wandered all over the cemetery and down to Miyazu, a nice day for a long walk.
After we spent a few minutes here getting nowhere, I checked the logs and realised that this was a little trickier than average. "Go check that,", I said to TaybeeDragon, while I check this - two items we would not have bothered with normally. "Found it!" she calls. "What? Already??". Nicely done .

Off on another magical mystery tour with The Seagnoid and Zara for the weekend. From Rocky we walk to here and scramble up the bank a bit slippery after the rain recently. GZ was eluding us so we had a bit of a search. A fun cache, a little out of the ordinary but I found it eventually. Yes another one!!. Cheers for the ingenuity - great place for a walk. Where to from here?
what an awesome idea !! thats a favorite point thanks for this great cache ! greetings from bavaria
Brilliant....glad that I gave this a second go today....not so bad when my gps locked on.....before that....excruciating.
Nicely done

Best cache yet!! Came here with lonekiwi (my dad) and bumbled around for a good 15 minutes before having the 'ah ha' moment everyone else was talking about. Probably would not have found it without a thorough read of the other comments.
Running out of log space; luckily I had some paper in my bag and added a bit.
Happy New Year! TFTC!

Yup, quite a few to chose from. Spent a while going around in circles before an Ah Ha moment and the log was signed. Cheers
I needed a find today to fill a calendar gap and having looking for this one at least four occasions and whistfully passed by on several more, I had started to feel that I would never get it.
This time, armed with backup in the form of Streetgamer (i.e. Master B with his own account now), I stopped for another look following a trip to Founders Park.
We took the 'top-down' approach and while I explored places I knew I had already looked, Streetgamer made a bee-line straight for the cache. How he did it I do not know, but boy did he let me know! Hours later he was still bragging!
Sure is a cunning hide and I'm glad to eventually get this smiley!
Thanks

Headed out for this cache a couple of weeks back only to have the batteries die 80ft - oops, 24m - from the gz. You'd have thought lesson learnt but came away again today without spares; luckily they were well charged because this took awhile. Coordinates all over the place. But wow! Well worth the time. Great cache. Thanks for the adventure.
Just arrived in Nelson after driving over the hill from Blenheim. Thought I would get a couple at the Founders Park area but it was muggle central today - some Queen's Birthday book fair. I noticed a track nearby and searched for caches in the area and off I walked....
This was a very clever hide - took a wee while to spot - lucky for me there was no one around.
TFTC - great to be here hunting in Nelson for the first time.

Took me a while to find this one. Literary stared at it almost one minute before I saw the one thing that exposed the hide. Really good container! (Don't search the ground.) tftc
Two years ago I had tried to find this one on a couple of attempts with no luck. Today I found it within a minute.
Tried to find this one on three separate occasions during our stay in Nelson, to no avail!
Another nice area visited on a geocaching holiday with Just-Lookin.
We certainly had lovely hot weather and lots of good cache finds.
No problems here and soon found the good container. SL TFTC

Day Two: On holiday with tmann421 exploring the top of the South Island. Lots of geocaches found and adventures had in the collection of many a cache. Thanks to all the CO's for making this a thoroughly enjoyable trip.
A quick find.

Still not quite used to New Zeeland time I got up early and went for a combined jogging/cachingtour. Eight kilometers later I had found six out of eight caches.
To be honest it wasn't much jogging on my way up the trail but my pulse was high anyway.
On my morning try I didn't find this one but when I returned in the afternoon and decided what to look for I had better luck. My wife was patiently waiting while I was searching. Tftc

All I can say is "Finally!" Probably our fifth visit and we proceeded with grim determination by process of elimination. At last. At last. Thank you (I think) Rolling Frog for this clever but exasperating cache.

One among many indeed,GPS spot on today, still took a bit of searching though Good hide Thanx4tc
We got a bit confused with this one as the GPS was all over the place. We'll be back though. I could hear the call of a pint of Red Ale at Founders. : )
Took a while to track down as the GPSr was not co-operative in among the tall trees. Good team work resulted in the find, I said I think the cache is a ..... but was searching in the wrong place. StreetWalker said what about that .... there. And sure enough it was the cache.
Great hide, thanks for the effort with it. Now to make my way back to the path....

#7956. Tricky. A steep slope, dodgy reception and a tricky hide. Troodles seemed very sure of the type of hide. I wasn't so sure, but I spotted something interesting that was the type of object Troodles was looking for, and sure enough it was the cache. TFTC.
I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. No luck for me here today.
A ha! Good stuff. TFTC. Second shot at this one and had to PAF as was getting desperate.
After finding 'This makes time...', I returned to this one more prepared; and I found it! TFTC
Although we had an idea what we were looking for this was still a tricky hide. Very clever and we enjoyed the challenge . TFTC.
Began a random search in the area the GPS led us to. When this proved fruitless we reassessed our options and the cache name and soon found this clever cache . An enjoyable outing, TFTC.
Almost one year on since we were here last, but we got it this time. I guess that's what a years worth of geocaching teaches you! TFTC
a pre-conceived idea proved correct...and worker was on to it quickly. signed log
Took us a bit of phaffing about, and the GPS was pointing all over the show. After a bit of sherlocking we had a good idea of what to look for......and there it was, thanks to The Redshifts 20/20 vision.
The day was growing old... I was feeling tired, and sore having slipped down then hill and getting mud all over myself. At first we looked in the wrong place and nearly gave up but decided to have one last look somewhere else... That shouldn't be there! Thanks, great cache
(Day Doing some cache repairs close by and thought I would give this one another go after failed attemps before, very pleased to find and great to see this type of caches a Favorites from me.....
Was here couple of days right on dusk as it started to rain so gave up without really looking but did take away a thought about what I might be looking for. Sure enough I was right and had the container within a couple of minutes. Love the container (I actually have one the same ready to hide just looking for the right spot). TFTC
After two failed searches, a bit of PAFing and suggesting to the CO that this cache may be AWOL, another visit aimed with extra info had this one off the "To do" list.

TFTC
Had plenty of time to search for it this time and also PAFed to confirm my suspicions as to what I was looking for, but still no luck.
Oh dear flat batteries, then no respection once they were changed. Followed by the local resident out fixing his car, all played a part in reducing my ability to find this one. Based on other Rolling Frog caches I knew it would be something that required some carefully searching.
Really should have had a headlamp at this time after sunset but a sharp eye and I managed to spot the cache. +1
Cheers Gav

Oh. Did I mention. I had a DNF on this one early December sometime. Returned today. Spent a little while repeating the same mistakes as last time, but then suddenly - - - there it was!!!! A cool hide. TFTC

Doing a bit of caching after visiting the Tahunanui Craft fair. Sidewaze suggested we hunt this one and after a bit of slip and sliding around it was spotted. TFTC - a neat hide!
Our second attempt and with a little hint from another geocacher. This time integersmirk spotted it soon after we got to GZ clever hide, TFTC
Well, it was Kitty's 2nd attempt but I sneaked back one lunchtime for another DNF so this trip was my 3rd. Very glad to have the helpful advice, another case of insisting in looking in the wrong place! TFTC
Thought I'd be in for some rough justice but GZ really only suggested one solution. Takes me back to a QMOTO one 5 or 6 years ago. Appreciate the extra effort with the container. A quick find on a beautiful day.
Thank you for placing this cache.

It seems that your caches are creating quite a stir amongst the Nelson caching community. Time to pop out and discover what all the fuss is about. I called by your new one today and ran out of ideas so this became next on my list. There could only be one possibility and once the GPS had settled down on a likely GZ the critter was in hand.
Nice hide.

Very nice hiding spot. my partner found it for me. gets a fav point from me. TFTC
Very pleased with myself here as found very soon after arriving. Thanks to previous logs I didn't waste time looking in the obvious places. However the little time spent here was more than made up at your other one on the other side of this hill! TFTC #4215
A very clever hide that took me two visits to find and after looking in all the obvious places. Definitely worth a favourite . Well done and TFTC
Awesome cache! I don't know how he did it but Master Beanso (7 years) said we hunted high and low, "There it is!" I have no idea how he did it but full makrs to the little guy! TFTC
That was heaps of fun. We had been away and this was not the closest new one to home - but was on the way back from a visit. Parked - then spotted T3. Not in proper caching clothes, but we should be OK.
Neared GZ and saw a couple - one under a tree and one on the path. Cachers??? Not ones we recognised so carried on up the path and looked back. Had to be - who else would be under a tree there.
Mrs S was sent in case we were wrong - and introduced herself to holymu. SoBad joined us and we then met up with hazedarus. With 4 pairs of eyes and 3 GPS's we should be fine. Chatted as we checked out the area - GPS's seemed to suggest about here. That still left a range of possiblities - when the cache container was spotted, retrieved, log signed and cache replaced.
Then we sat on a hillside and chatted. Then we moved to the path and chatted. Spent considerably longer chatting than searching - but we were in no hurry.
The cache would have got a favourite anyway - the social occasion was the icing on the cake.
Thanks.

This is so cool. The search was abandoned cause of muggles I thought. Then Holymu appeared in sight together with the SoBads. Retracing my steps to some degree and then comparing GPS readings and some T3 exercise we put our heads together. Eagle eyes Sobad spotted the cache cause I was so close I couldn't see it... Great to meet fellow cachers and a long chinwag resulted. Well done cache, neat container and a fav. TFTC

We eventually arrived at this cache via some others along the track from the Botanics and had not long started searching when a couple arrived who I suspected may have been fellow cachers, esp with that tell tale item in the hand, although they walked on up the track a little first before returning and introducing themselves. With four pairs of eyes the cache was eventually spotted, then signed and returned to it's very clever hide. Then we sat on the hillside and chatted for some time, then moved to the track and continued the conversation for some time before each going our separate ways. It was so nice to meet the SoBads today, it's the first time we have met local geocachers when we've been "on the job". And a very clever cache as well!. Well worth a fav point.
FTF (Shared with Kiwi_Explorer) Nice one! Bumped into Mr KE on the way to anther cache which we decided to delay finding in favour of this one. Terrain rating was a good indicator of where we might need to look. Not in any of the obvious spots though. Looked a little harder at our surroundings and I spotted something a little bit out of place. Great camo on the cache! TFTC, Biggles.
FTF shared with Biggles who I met nearby. A good fun hide that should have a few guessing. TFTC
