After having replaced this a couple of times and the cache still ending up on the ground, I think it's time that this one gets archived and the area released for other cachers to place hides around. As for why the cache keeps leaving its hiding spot, I'm not exactly sure why
Thanks all for your finds.
Thanks all for your finds.
Found it on the ground, so put it back where clue suggested, hope its the right spot.
I think you will need to get a bit creative with this one, we also found it on the ground in plain sight.
Cheers

Arrived at GZ and looked in what I thought was the most likely location but could not see the cache. So after a good look around I looked at some of the previous logs.
Lucky I did, the cache was in the same location that WaywardWoman had described, laying on the ground in the grass.
The log was signed and I placed the cache in the location the CO had described.

#1719- A quick (well, round about) diversion on our way back from Penrith. The boys hadn't done this one and it had been on the list to do for a while, so we took advavtage of the cooler temeratures and went for a drive, Pretty part of the mountains. A quick find by NickoHeap, not in its hidey hole, but on the ground in the grass. Replaced as per hint. Thanks
After an amazing day doing C from V, Salvation Jane and Locky's Surprise with a group of cachers, Canary and I had a few hours to kill before we had to pick up his son from soccer. He offered to drive me to this one, for a start.
There were a bunch of people parked right near the cache when we arrived, so we wandered off to look for a good stick until they left. The cache was where it was supposed to be this time - apparently it has sometimes been found on the groun - and I made an easy find. Thanks

As we arrived at this spot there was a white car with red P plates parked near GZ. We pulled up behind it, thinking they might also be cachers, but they drove off after looking back at us for a bit.
So I moved the car forward & made an instant find of the cache. It was lying on the ground, so I rehid it in a place that matched the hint & was immediately above where I'd found it (CO can email me if he wants to confirm that I put it in the right place).
But before I could rehide it, the white car returned, and the occupants looked over at us for some time. I stayed put until they'd left again before replacing the cache.
Strange behaviour I thought, they were obviously waiting for us to leave for some reason. Then I noticed all of the tyre marks on the road & figured they were planning on adding to the marks by doing donuts, and wanted us out of the way before they started .
Thanks for the cache, it was a great day to be driving out here
