#15371 17:00A few hours of geocaching with Martin Cousins around SOP before attending the GeoBanQuest at the Silverwater hotel. In the presence of the CO this was of course a cache to be found. The path to the final waypoint is a bit overgrown and the cache container needs a new O-ring. But apart from that it was a very nice walk and a great cache for the upcoming block party.TFTC Martin Cousins.
We went to a spot today which I thought was GZ but there was a little further to travel! Armed with 3L we made short work at the final- the whole multi was well put together. TFTC!
No change in the cache at all, but have changed the posted coordinates to a virtual stage to assist a publication request for another cache
This is a great cache. Solved WP1 a while ago but came here today with OZB to finish it up. At WP2 we found the nicely concealed coords and then at the final we made use of our Deep Water and flushed out an ant colony while getting the cache out! Really good stuff. TFTC FP
Out caching with GHHH as a scouting mission and first placements for the mega.Solve WP1 online and today we decided to find this so we could gather all the physical waypoints. Noticed we needed a 2L container, what better than one of the caches Im going to hide. WP2 was excellently done. The WP device is fading so we topped up the numbers with a sharpee. Filled up with musty water and headed for the final where we found the well constructed cache. Turns out we drowned an ants nest here. Signed the log. Nice painting! TFTC and FP when around
Living in the old athletes village, this was my closest unfound for a very long time, though I'd found the plaque some years ago, but hadn't finished it. I finally grabbed some water today for a quick find at WP2 (yes, the regen signs are still there), then onto GZ for the find. A really satisfying cache to finish, thank you. best wishes, Wal
Finally, found it with Everlasting and skyejam.. thanks for your excellent multi cache.
Enjoyed wander the wetland - good fun. With sevabo and skyejam. Finally find it and sign the log, and thank you for organising the multi and hunt.
FP from me.
FP from me.
A fun multi cache. I only brought 1L of water with me, but we managed to make it work with that and some improvised tools. TFTC!!
What a fun multi this one was! On the way to WP2 I stumbled across the regen sign. Bummer!
Looking through the logs, I walked to the other side of the path avoiding the regenerating land and made the connection!
It was a bit awkward carrying a 2L bottle around, but once the area was muggle clear, I soon had CIH! A fav point from me, TFTC!

So good. Tricky. Had to go against regeneration advice. TFTC this was a great learning experience for geocaching.
I had collected the data for WP1 some 3 or 4 years ago and have never been back. Today I returned to the area with this and the nearby cache on the the hill as primary targets. I failed at the latter, however the continuation of this cache was most enjoyable and successful. WP2 had me guessing for a while as I was not sure what I was looking for, however the theme of the cache is very clear and I soon had WP# coords. No problem at GZ and IO only used 1.5 litres of rain water to collect the prize.
An excellent offering, gets a favourite for the variety and boldness of the hide.

Happy 2021, everyone! Happy caching 2021, everyone!
Because it was a slow day after staying up last night and having a bubbles to change the year, one of the best things you can do is to head out. Because I was in the mood for it and had this and couple of other caches in the area to target in the near future, stars were aligning and this became the first cache of the year. Last year I found a bit over 100 caches - let's see how many this year?
Arrived at the WP1 and read through all the signs there. Somehow I had thought that the athletes had always lived together in the athletes' villages but according the information here, Sydney was the first time this happened in the Olympics. Who knew?
The required date found with ease, WP 2 looked logical on the map, so onto the bike paths of the area. On arrival, it was very evident what would be a great spot to check out first. The trivial solution checked but that was empty. Then a bit of toying around revealed the final coords. It's always assuring when you see the geocaching logo as it confirms we are now onto the right thing here.
Final coords were easy to find and, again, the likely search area rather straightforward to narrow down. A quick look around for things which could fit the cache description. Another round of toying around and the geocaching logo was visible, again. Onto the water part, then.
Once the actual container was available, it seemed to have drunk some of the water, too, as I poured perhaps a glassful out from it. A good thing the logsheet survives some water, though many of the entries there seem to have diluted away.
I have seen a similar idea used in Brisbane, too, and do appreciate the effort gone into setting this all up. Add to that the extension from the plaque to something more, to a peek into that young man. That's well worthy a FP or two. [^]
Confessions: 1) Yes, I walked on the trail. 2) I used tap water instead of rain. 3) I had only 1.5 L on me (but that was enough). Such sloppiness...
All good here. TFTC, Martin cousins!

After a day out at the Armory (lunching at the cafe then wandering around doing the “Newington Walk” Adventure Lab) and with my TOTT in hand (a 2ltr milk bottle filled with water), I made my way to Stage 2 of this multi.
(I’d calculated Stage 1 coords at home and was hoping they were correct - yep they were)
At Stage 2 I noted the information provided and headed to the final which was not far away.
Water poured, cache appeared, now to open. Not that easy. Should have brought an additional TOTT me thinks.
Anyway, I got it open, signed the log and replaced as found.

The word went out earlier in the week to see if we had completed this cache and as we hadn't we agreed to meet up together. After a short walk to WP1 we confirmed the numbers already collected by the others, did some calculations and wandered off towards GZ. With the cache in hand we all signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache container and log are in good condition. Thanks for the multi Martin Cousins - a favourite point awarded.
The following TBs came through for the mileage : Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), Vanlith The Youngling, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, teamMerlin's Football.

This took a lot longer than I had hoped in the end needed extra company came here at the start of the week got the info at listed. What an idiot I am should have used alnic39 PHL app cause my maths let me down and spent a while wandering around the wrong place. Read a few notes decided on a PAF once I got home
That night reworked my calculation and got a different wp couldn't get back there on Tuesday but tried to find not sure what whether I was looking for GZ or a fish. The fish I found didn't help. So back to the drawing board.
After speaking to Al decided to finish this off today so with teamMerlin and alnic39 parked nearby and walked to the WP1 found the info we needed there some of the details here are getting a bit hard to read but the numbers we guessed were correct. At GZ worked out what we needed to do and soon after the cache popped it's head out. Took a seat then took a bit of work to get the log out

Having worked on the first half of this one last year, I put the coordinates I had into the PHL app and switched it to "navigation mode" as this was my problem last time. True to form, PHL led us all to the right spot, where the water was applied and the cache revealed. tftc
OCW morty8888 around Newington Armory. After arriving at the first wp and reading the names of the Aussie athletes and reminiscing about their performances we ventured over to Woolies to purchase a couple of litres of water, also noting that they were also out of toilet paper. Off to the second wp, after relocating the geomobile a little closer; walking along the track and swatting the persistent mossies we arrived. After searching on both sides of the fence and about to walk away morty came up with the goods and we were away to the final wp which was gz. Here we were initially searching for something that we thought would drink a couple of litres of water. Well something did but it wasn't where we were expecting. A fun cache and a worthy FP. TFTC Martin cousins
OCW Oldmorty around Newington and we found ourselves noting all the Olympic athletes from 2000. So many memories as well as taking a moment to think about the poor kid who was killed constructing this area for the athletes. Some simple maths had us driving close to GZ armed with a couple of litres.
Like others it wasn’t until reading a few logs did we realise this was not GZ but WP2. Where are the numbers?? Ahh there you are. Lucky someone has written over where the numbers have worn over time. Onto GZ!
Again with swarms of mozzies enjoying fresh meat we searched for what we thought we should find and then a realisation of where this device could be. Clever! Extracted cache and signed before returning it to its sneaky home. Really enjoyed this very clever cache and appreciate how amazing and original it would have been when it was first published. TFTC and have a FP!

Not sure what I was missing. Found the info and it took me to the plastic fish. I took those coords and it took me to the sign that is the name of hfs cache. I undid the wire and went in and looked all over the shop. I tried the tops of the things like where I found the fish, but the wouldn’t budge. I’ll have to watch this one.
TFTC, took the geo kids out for some fun caching this afternoon. Favourite point awarded
Martin cousins I found your cache Deep Water (2Litres of Rain) on 6/4/19, 4:45 pm. This is my find 2325 and find # 6 today. A little bit of thinking required at wp2. Once I found the coordinates it was a short walk to GZ and a quick find. Had enough water to retrieve the logbook. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
This cache has taken many years to solve, much petrol, many leg miles, 2 pairs of shoes and lots of blood lost - the mozzies were really having their share today!
Firstly in my early caching days I collected the WP1 co-ords but not being able to operate the GPS correctly I had to look on google maps at home for the next stop. Found that on a subsequent visit but couldn't find anything so back at home I did some research and came up with some co-ords for GZ, don't remember what I did but surprisingly now I have made the find today I was sooooo close!
Twice I went to WP2 but I don't seem to select my days well as the track was flooded and the shoes were a bit worse for wear and the geodog was up to his waste in mud too. Third visit to WP2 and again no success - I am officially a weakling.
After some CO help I finally had the co-ords for GZ.
So today I came here again. As I walked I thought about the storm yesterday and the potential for a flooded track again but all good today.
Once at GZ, first thought 'I've been here before' then after fighting off the mozzie army and checking every possible location and calling to the caching gods 'Where is it?' the penny dropped and the cache was found. Hooray!
Just as well I love Bicentennial Park and come here often for various activities and do lots of walks!
TFTC # 3002, Streak day #390

This was a fun cache. We came well equipped with plenty of the necessary liquid, as per the instructions. Even had a bit extra, just in case it was needed. but it wasn't. Arrived at the first waypoint and found new co-ords quickly. Put these into the GPS and headed off to look for the next point. It also was quickly found, the liquid container was partly emptied and it was cache in hand. Write in the rain logs are good and this one was soon signed. Thanks go to Martin Cousins for this cache which gets a favourite point from us.
OCW EverestHigh, we had good fun completing this little multi. Gathering the info, we headed to the next WP, before realising this wasn't GZ. Silly billy - read the full description nest time Brew! Then a quick stroll to GZ, this time knowing exactly what to look for. We came prepared with ample water bottles and some coffee cups from our earlier lunch stop, and still had just enough water to get to the cache! Must have been the drought. Then the rain fell on our way out which may have been a good back-up.
A well-constructed multi using natural resources and existing equipment. Well concealed hide with a little bit of a tip at GZ, but obvious to seasoned cachers. It was good to see very little rubbish around the area too. Now was that Richard Clapton I spied near GZ? Worthy of a FP from Brew. TFTC

This was my main target for today which required a non-traditional find. I came well prepared although I have to admit that I brought 3L just to be sure. The calculations were quickly completed (using what I thought was the more obvious use of the brackets). As I had parked in the opposite direction to GZ, I decided to drive a bit closer and start my stroll from there. There are not too many obvious options at the next WP and my first instinct proved good even if a bit fishy. GZ was a surprise and very well concealed given I knew what I was looking for. It wasn't as thirsty as others I've seen so I had plenty left over

What a great adventure.
I loved reading the story about the person who died.
The cache is very fitting for him.
One issue, the mozzies they were biting today.
But hey it was worth it.

What an ordeal. I got to WP2 and made the mistake of thinking it was gz. Went back to sign to double check. Got back to same spot and looked again. Then it re-read some stuff and it dawned on me. I then spent most of an hour looking for the details.
I went away and read more logs. This gave me a hint, but I'd tried that. So back I go and try again. No. Then I tried will a little more oomph- and I had the info.
The cache itself was child's play.

This one has been on my radar for ages now, finally got the opportunity to come past here today. Great little bit of history TFTC
I did the legwork for this cache 3 or 4 years ago but didn't have an urn, camel or any other suitable container with me then. It's been on the "I'll finish it one day" list ever since. Knowing I'd be nearby today, I came prepared to complete the task, albeit belatedly. Hope my ink sticks to the plastic ok. Thanks Martin cousins.
An overcast but clearing cool Saturday usually means fewer muggles about. So rode the hybrid out Newington way for some caching along Haslem Creek. Tally for the day: 13 finds, 1 DNF
- - -
First find of the day.
This is one of those caches that starts that debate about when is a mystery cache a multi, or vice versa. This cache is both - and with top-notch craftmanship at the final.
Brought 3 bidons full of water (not rainwater but hopefully still acceptable) and dumped the whole lot in as quickly as I could in case it leaked out quicker than I could pour. Happily, the cache became retrievable shortly.
The resident blue pen didn't seem to work on the plastic-coated paper. Neither did my 2B clutch-pencil. But it did manage to make a deep enough dent to be recognisable - hopefully. (Snapped a photo of the log just in case.)
Top puzzle. Top multi. Top implementation. FP for sure.
Thanks Martin cousins

This has been on the 'to do' list for a while but was convenient to use to fill a calendar vacancy today.
I hadn't read the clue recently and thought WP2 was GZ and wasted my water and thought there was a fault. Then a little fishy told me to continue on my journey and I was able to refill.

My hint is this... don't cross the fence, use the fence... and follow the gravel path...
Quick note... make sure you wear insect repellent as I was almost carried away by a black cloud (of mozzies).
Best cache ever. As my water says, Thank you!

In early February 2014, I was in the area and picked up the information at WP1 intending to return before too long to complete this interesting multi. Today, almost three years later, I brought it to its conclusion.
WP2 was quickly found and we were soon at GZ. We had the materials necessary to access the cache and, as it all worked perfectly, it was soon in hand.
This is shrewdly and skilfully done and would have to be the best of the many of this genre I have encountered. It’s a great tribute to the young tradie whose life was so tragically cut short.
Thanks Martin cousins, I have one favourite point left, and it’s yours .

I think the way this is done is brilliant. It also brought me to a pleasant place that I have not visited before. Thanks Martin cousins, it gets a favourite from me too.
It turns out it was in the exact spot i looked in many many times. The previous finder must've been stronger than me! Great geocache and the best ice seen in a while. Favourite point from me!
After searching WP2 for around 50 minutes, I had to give up as the rain was pouring down heavier by the minute
Wp2 has me completely stumped. Even after receiving a hint from the CO, I cannot find the coords!
Found . TFTC. Very clever and not too difficult multi. Was well prepared with multi small rain containers. Still not sure what the Wp2 clue means. Will have to ponder over a cuppa.
Sorry to say but there is an error in the East formula. Too many brackets. Fixing up either of two ways gives two different answers for the final digit.
There are three ( brackets and only two ) brackets.

I have had the first solution for this one for a while now but was to busy collecting the traditionals to make a1000 find before the end of my first year. Well with the 1000 finds done and dust with a moth to spare. I'm not to focus in the number per day but the quality. Plus this weekends mission was to get a multi for the souvenir.
This is a good cache and highlighted a very sad component of our OLYMPIC preparation.
Thanks for bring me here. Tftc.

Have seen this multi plenty of times since I shop nearby. So today I had a stab at it with enough water. Really enjoyed the different hides and the extraction. Fav from me. Thanx
We found the clues for WP1 easy enough, but at WP2 we were scratching our heads a bit. Luckily we had found a previous cache in the same style as this one so with a little elbow grease we were in luck. At WP2 geo-partner had indicated that this has got to be in her Top 5 favourite caches to date. Very clever!! It's in a great spot so that muggles can stay out of your way for the most part.
TFTC!! Fav point!!

Found the details from the plaque a few weeks ago and decided this morning to do the next legs. Mathematical calculations weren't too taxing so armed with a reasonable looking set of co-ordinates we plugged them in the car GPS and headed off. Not the best idea, should have checked where the most sensible attack point would be with a map as the GPS wanted us to take a trail that I couldn't see from a busy road with no parking available. A quick recalculate had us parking in a quiet back street that gave us good access to a path leading to WP2.
Details for GZ were soon found and we were off. After recovering the cache container had a bit of trouble undoing it, last cacher must have been stronger than us. Next problem was writing on the log. Our pen wouldn't write on the waterproof paper but hopefully we left enough of an indent on the paper to indicate we were really there.
Great little multi and the area around GZ is lovely despite being so close to a busy road. Thanks for the work that has gone into this. A favorite point from us.

Decided to swing past here today and grab this multi seeing as I had remembered my water. Got the first part quickly, but was a little unsure about the final east coordinate as the number of brackets don't match up. Still the coordinates plotted somewhere sensible, so I drove down a bit closer. Found the path I needed was closed due to pond maintenance (whatever that means) but decided that just meant fewer muggles as it was a simple barrier to step around. A quick find at WP2, then off to the final which was a bit more public.
Tipped my first 1.5 litre bottle in which was almost enough but not quite, so had to top it up a little more before I had cache in hand. A fun little multi, thanks Martin cousins. Good to finally tick this one off.

This one is so close to home and yet it's been on my radar for so long, after all it's older than my caching career however for some reason I've been worried it would be "hard"! Really enjoyed it - easy and straight forward and one of the quickest multi stage multis I've done. Simple, but great! Thanks MartinCousins... Giving you a favourite point for your efforts. Future finders be warned - not one to attempt when busting to, you know what I'm talking about!! Luckily no one was around to watch my silly dance!
Souvenir season is upon us already, and the we're a few great caches I had lined up just for this one. But then it rained, and rained, and rained!
What better cache to do than one that requires rain water?!
Thouh as the title of the cache, there was a bit of deep water to walk through to get to wp2 and gz.
Thanks for the cache.

I had the opportunity to watch my first ever GWS game today at a nearby stadium and once the game was finished I did my usual routine of picking a cache to find for the day. This cache had been on my to-do list for a long time but I either never had the time to complete a multi or it was too late at night to attempt. I always have 4 litres of water in the boot of my car so that was never the excuse. So today was the day. I found the necessary details at WP1 and then had a read of all the other plaques in the area. I sat down nearby to make the mathematical calculations and the kids sitting higher up on the hill decided to share their M&Ms with me by throwing them at me (not hitting me), I put on my teacher face and scared a couple of boys away lol I had the last laugh. I looked at the location of WP2 and thought I wouldn't consider it walking distance and got in the car to drive closer and realised there wouldn't be anywhere closer to park, so I grabbed my 4 litres of water and headed off. I got to WP2 and struggled to find the next clue, I even rang the CO but his phone went straight to voice mail so I hung up and thought like a cacher and found the next clue almost straightaway. I now had the final piece to the puzzle and headed on my way. Again I was perplexed at GZ but I thought about things and discovered where I needed to offload 2 litres of my water I was carrying. SL #2003 on streak day #1067 and just as I had returned everything back in place the CO returned my call. This cache didn't disappoint, TFTC and enjoy my fav point.
Find #456: Deep Water (2Litres of Rain) on the 15 April 2015, 3:31 PM whilst out and. about at Sydney Olympic Park for geosisters national swimming championships.
This adventure started with a long wait in the local carpark battling gridlock and road rage we located a park and headed fpr the first wp.
Here we gathered the required information and did our calculations. These gave us a second wp that was some distance away. Seeming unlikely we recalculated and double checked the WPs. Apparently the first answers were correct so we started on our walk.
At the second WP we searched all of the obvious locations before I spotted a potential hide. Aha, more coordinates!
At the final I spotted another likely hide and moved in. This was a cobblers logs infested area but luckily it was not in the ultimate danger stage of cobbler log growth.
It seemed apparent that now we were required to use the 2L of water we had been lugging around. A quick grab and the cache was retrieved and signed.
Thanks for the cache Martin cousins! I have hidden a similar cachs that follows the same principle. However the one we found today was far better finished. I will return to award a favorite point.

What a great cache! We parked at Newington Armory and walked over. Poor Tom Pascoe. Read about Tom, did our calcs and enjoyed the scenic walk to WP2. Clever hiding spot and 'keyfish'. Off to GZ. We didn't have quite enough of what we needed at GZ but Mother Nature was able to provide. Ver clever and thoughtfully constructed geocache. A favourite from us. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
Fantastic cache! Really appreciated the efforts of the CO in setting this one up. Geokids thought it was the best they'd ever seen (we did too). Then we became a meal for the local mozzies and were forced to make a hasty retreat. TFTC.
Kanga & I *really* liked this multi cache.
For a while, we thought we had made a mistake with the equation at WP1, since when we arrived at WP2 we could make no sense of the hint.
(I still don't understand the reference to "profession" [:o)] )
After we had each walked all the way around the little lake, we returned to WP2 and had a BIG think. Suddenly I remembered a common trick which is used in Paris, and wiggled the thingy - and it moved.
Suddenly I had a fishy story to deal with....
On to WP3 (Final) and we put our waterbottles toi good use.
Greetings from Paris (SlackMac) and from the Gold Coast (Kanga).
P.S. This was Kanga's first multi cache, so I send big thanks to Martin cousins for setting up an interesting one.

New container add, removed temporary one, now it should run as it was meant too.
Returned to remove all the clutter, and can't believe, who would have taken the container??
It's been Muggled!
Anyway, have placed another common geocache container just adjacent to GZ.
So, it's up and running without the rain needed.
Will return soon with the real macoy.

Did a cache check and can see container has been wedged in, too much debrie inside. Will be back, better equipped as I know what's needed.
Deeply sorry for the delay.

#2642- I was I the area today catching up with my brother for lunch, so decided to make this my multi cache to start the August month of caching. Unfortunately, a sad story about the person the cache is based around. I quickly collected he information, double checking my brackets before I drove off to a closer spot for WP2. Arrived there and spent quite some time wandering a little distance away, before I read the clue and had a ' Doh' moment.with the co-ords located and punched in, I strolled the short way down the track, to a gate which was tied closed. Thought about the previous waypoint and scored! Unfortunately, the water did not obtain the cache on this occasion. I have contacted the CO who confirmed my suspicions and is going to try and fix it soon. He kindly allowed me to claim it as a find in this case.
A great little one, well planned and set up, but I would hold off until it has had maintenance if you are planning a visit. Many thanks- still a favourite for the overall experience. And a souvenir for my first multi this month too. Thanks

What a great idea! Last night I knew I would have some time this morning before work to tackle this one so I came prepared with my bottle of rain. Worked out the maths at WP1 easily enough, and walked over to WP2. This one had me baffled for a few minutes, and I was worried that I had done the maths wrong. Got it in the end. Continued onto GZ and started pouring down my rain. 1.5L was literally just enough for me to make the grab, so as the title suggests, I would also recommend you bring a 2L bottle just in case. Thanks for this great cache, take a favourite!

I had grabbed the clues and calculated the first waypoint a while ago. Today, I was dropping Geoson #3 at the Easter Show and thought I'd take a look at the second waypoint - hopeful of grabbing the coordinates for GZ.
Arrived at the waypoint and looked in the obvious spots for a few minutes, interrupted by a passing muggle. Nothing. One location here was really screaming at me, so I decided to narrow my focus there and look for something different. Aah. There is the info I need.
Continued on to GZ. Aah. I think I know where the cache is hiding... Lucky I persisted as the outer cache cover was slightly jammed.
Applied water (probably only 300ml or so) and had CIH.
A very impressively executed cache. Have a favourite point.

After picking up Geodaughter from Olympic pool, I say to her do you want to do a cache and she was a bit reluctant. But I told her it was a Martin cousins cache which she change her mind quickly. So I got her to read the description and she tells me we need 2 liters of Rain. So we stopped at the pie shop and brought some food and drinks. after finishing these off we filled the drink bottles up with rain and went off to do the cache. Geodaughter did the maths at WP1 and we walked off to WP2 and had a little giggle here. Got the next set of Co ords and guessed where we should look. Had another little giggle when geodaughter added her stuff when to cache appeared. She now say's "Daddy can we go now as I'm being eaten by Mozzies" So I quickly did the legals and got out of there. Nice work has been done on this cache and it just makes my criteria of Favs. TFTCM

What a fabulously crafted cache!
I absolutely loved it !!!!
At WP1 I did the maths quickly and headed off to WP2 it must be my lucky day as I stopped my bike right on target and had my hand on the clue as I dismounted.
Off to GZ and as I looked around if all fell into place......
Only used about 500ml of my rain supply which is good as it was hot and I was getting thirsty
Thank you so much for this cache- so much fun. Fav point awarded

Found this with the help of fish and chips at Newington between WP1 and WP2. I loved this cache and it is worthy of my first Favourite. TFTC
This caused me a little grief at each stage wondering where to go, but finally figured it all out and now feel like a genius!!
I decided to do a few multis while I was chasing some TBs.
This was the third and last.
A sad reminder of the dangerous workplace others endure to today.
Then off to WP2, where the clue was no help so after fifteen minutes I resorted to a Phone-A-Friend.
At GZ I had brought what I needed so I made an easy find, although getting the log out was a challenge.

Headed once again for Deep Water,
Determined not to falter.
Brought the rain
This time not in vein.
For here I stand,
Cache in hand.
My find-a-day plans I need not alter.

O.K, have made a temporary repair on WP1 and the major repairs to GZ for easier access.
Sounds like a trip is in order at GZ. Will check it out tomorrow afternoon.
Found the Deep Water at GZ. Used up my 3 litres and went off and got a tool and a refill. Still no luck getting the cache. It just would not appear. Not sure if I'm doing it wrong or it's stuck.

7/04/13 4:55 PM. Cache #536. Current streak: 210 days. Only had time for one cache today, but had this multi in my sights. I had to park a couple of streets away in Moulton Ave to get to WP1 and get my details from Thomas Pascoe's plaque. I could calculate the location of WP2; once there a familiar hide revealed an item which gave me my coords for the final... or was this a red herring? It looked like one, but I put my trust in it, and followed the fish to the final. From there, I looked at a similar location, but this time no budging. I had my 2L with me, but what was this new challenge? Was it somewhere else? No, I simply needed to apply a different tool (of a Neolithic kind ). Okay, I've seen this kind before, now my rain water came into play. My bottles ran out just short, but luckily there was a plentiful supply nearby to finish the job, and up popped the cache. Now - how to get the log out? It took a bit of coaxing, but I got it out. Signed the log (wet, but waterproof), but with my fine line pen I'm not confident the ink will stay on the log so I've added a photo as well. Put it all back in place, but my 2 litres of H2O is still there (I take it that it will slowly come down / evaporate?) Realised as I'd walked off that I had the kilometrico pen from the cache with me, but I note that it didn't work anymore anyway. Clever cache MC and worth a favourite. Cheers! }:)
Wanted to do this Cache for a while so set out to first location and got the Numbers and had a look around the Park found a name of a relative that competed in the Olympics and later went on to win Gold then to Wp1 Easy found them like this before then to Wp2 again Easy Thanks
TFTC!! Found with goughy2012 and recovered the cache after some speedy maintenance by the CO. Favourite point awarded too!

After my DNF last time, I came back armed with water and hope. It was just on dusk as I made my way to WP2 and started searching again. After 10 min, I checked with 2 PAF, but with no reply, I was on my own. I soon checked an area I discounted before, and BAM found what I needed. Gathered the info and moved on to GZ.
Here the GPSr took me deep into the trees near the water, so for 20min I walked back and forth searching for this cache. Then it dawned on me where it might be. DOH!!! Found YA! I used my water supply, but nothing....drainned the lot and the cache was nowhere to be seen. Hmmm.... So I walked back to the car with my empties and grabbed a tool to try something different.
Made it back in the dark and managed to extract the cache another way. Then still had issues getting the log out. Finally after a total of 40min later I SL and replaced everything. Contacted the CO about the cache and he may perform some maintenance.
Great little multi and area, good one MC, well done and TFTC.

Dropped my son off this afternoon at a Bowling Party in North Strathfield, so I decided to kill the time by finding a few nearby caches.
Struck out on the muggled GCA 'Zalgariath Gold'; I then headed around SOP to get to Newington for this one.
Collected the WP2 coords ok, then found a park on Blaxland Ave and walked there. Found a very cool WP2 hide, and that sent me on my way to GZ. It was there that I brought my water bottles into play...I have used this technique a few times in the past! Retrieved the hide, signed the log then gave it 15 mins in the sun to dry out a bit.
TFTC, Martin! Great job - it gets a FP from me for the effort!
Cheers,
CC.

Not the day for caching or maths for me today. Parked, got WP1 ok and the clues and then drove around and parked. Then realised my maths was wrong and after redoing them, ended on another little track out in the middle of nowhere and the GPSr wanted me in the swamp. WP2 must be here somewhere, so tried 2 TAF, but no luck, so annoyed that I couldn't do maths today, I left
This has got to be one of the best caches in the area. A lot of work has gone into setting this up and it is really appreciated. I'm often in the area, living not too far away. I love this area. Wpt1 was easily found. been here many times before, the information posed no problems. It's sad that such a young life was lost during construction of the Olympic site. The maths was completed, no problems there and on seeing where the GPS pointed, I k new exactly how to get to this area, via a shortcut not many know. The coords were spot on and soon I spied this craftily hidden wpt. Nice job there. I liked this a lot.On to GZ and another fabulous spot. Very peaceful here too. The cache took a little longer to reveal itself. Need a lot more muscle power or a handy stick. Once this was sorted the cache revealed itself after using some of my magic liquid. Found that I only needed half of what I brought with me. I extracted the log and found it very wet. It seems that somehow the cache is not entirely water proof or the log is able to absorb moisture.
I left it hanging on a branch for a while to dry it out in the sunshine while I enjoyed the surroundings, but unfortunately it was still slightly damp when I returned it. You may need to somehow put a water proof log holder inside the cache, like a bison tube or something. I put everything back as it was then did a bit of CITO. It concerned me that a past cacher had left 2 "vital pieces of equipment" behind. Discarding things at GZ is not desirable and leads to attention being drawn to GZ by passing muggles or rangers. And it is littering. Please take your rubbish with you and complete the cache as it was intended. It is the finders responsibility to come prepared. Well done Martin cousins on a great caching experience.

What a great cache!
Was lucky enough to find a 1.5L bottle of water on the way while vacuuming the car at a service station - It's a sign!
Found location, grabbed info and started off on foot. Some ambiguity on the maths but found WP2 without a problem. WP2 was put together well, lots of work as gone into this.
Got to cache location, easy find, again, lots of thought and effort has gone into this one, props to CO.
1.5L and my long fingers were just enough. Such a nice spot, no muggles here after work. Reminds me of North America.
Log needs some work, won't survive much longer with all the pushing going on.
Thanks for the cache, easily a favourite.

I was working in Newington this week and had my eyes on this cache hoping to find it before I left on Friday night. I experimented with many different methods to get to work this week, by friend's car, by ferry/bike, by bike alone and by bus. My favourite was to come by bike and roll around the wetlands before work. So I came by here with my re-checked calculations a few times but couldn't find WP2. So I requested help to the CO who promptly fixed up the waypoint but in reality I hadn't even found the right method. I really have no excuse as the co-ords are precise and I have seen this before. I think I may have tried but gave up without persisting enough.
Anyway I didn't mind coming here several times as it is an absolutely fantastic place. It teemed down just before my visit this afternoon and the place was alive with waterbirds and the like. And with copious amounts of help from both the CO and a previous finder I managed to drop by and get it on my last afternoon working in Newington. A great deal of work has gone into the construction of this cache and I hope that more people go and find it soon!
I also liked that the cache was set up as a memorial - when I returned home the neighbours had set up some scaffolding and I thought of this family that were left without a Dad due to some poor safety somewhere.
The only sore point was that when I got home I realised that I had the cache pencil in my pocket Please can the next person bring one.
TFTC - Favourite point awarded.

Had a wonderful ride in from Gladesville this morning among the river then the parklands and finished here at the wetlands. The CO kindly performed maintainance on WP2 and I thought it would stand out this time but I still couldn't find it! Lovely place though and hope to be back - but might have to get a clue for WP2.
Geokid8 and I had run the 3km Run4Fun around Sydney's Olympic Park, and decided to find some caches on the way home. We stopped off at WP1 and gathered the required information. It looked like a bit of a hike to WP2, particularly carrying the Necessary Equipment, so we decided to drive rather than a walk, finding a park in one of the nearby streets (there are paths between the buildings). We got to the calculated WP2, and found an area that appeared to match the hint, although the iPhone wasn't getting a good lock. We had a good search of the surroundings for a guide to GZ, rechecked the calcs, but nothing said "this way" to me, so we gave up after about 20 minutes when the lad started complaining of hunger and thirst.
I decided to return to the car by a different route, Just In Case, and a little way along my son noticed something that was very familiar given where we had just spent time. I tried a feature that is commonly used to hide caches and sure enough it was the right spot! I ignored the large spider just a foot away and used the tool until I had CIH, and signed the log (#3, although #2 was undated and not on the website?). I struggled to get the log back in, but eventually managed.
