We enjoyed this rocky walk as we saw lots of little birds singing their hearts out while flying high above us. Thanks to the hint we found the cache in the first place we looked. All is good and dry here. The sound of rocks clacking with the pull of the waves accompanied us all the way. Thank you.

This cache:Could not resist to check the post first but the hint is correct. Close though Smile Tftc!Today:Classic school hours trip for Mr. and Mrs. Dutch Kiwi to spend some time together outside without kids. Today's target was Glenduan & the nearby swamp area. We packed our gum boots and we sure needed them today! Fun times walking through the ankle-high water, searching for caches left and right. And not a single DNF, what a great day! Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining!

I do like the frosty mornings and beautiful blue sky days. So refreshing. Now we are in the sun we are a lot warmer. I am enjoying looking across the bay when I look up because I am happy not needing to watch where I put my feet (path doesn’t have any stones sticking for me to trip over!).

The last of the Boulder bank caches to find as we have decided to do the rest on a later visit. The walk has been enjoyable.

In Nelson with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-mcgoo for a few days of caching and meeting up with other cachers from Nelson. All logs signed as NMTY.

Kia ora rawa atu for the cache BigglesNZ.

Day 3 of my Nelson trip, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-Mcgoo. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to Smile
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.

Last night we had planned out our day to start up here and work our way back towards Nelson. The only problem was the sudden publication of 4 new Caches, and what with New Zealand's foremost FTF addict amongst our number, we had a bit of a debate as to whether we would stick with Plan A or switch to a mad-dash Plan B. Plan A won out so here we are.

Walking along to this cache, I was very much reminded of Brighton Beach in the south of England. I wouldn't go sunbathing there either lol! Standing at GZ having found the cache, I figured that we were pretty close to a fence post, so I guess the Hint is a little subjective. No issues to report with this one, so one we had signed the log the whole thing was replaced as found.

Thanks for setting this one up.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. With minimal specific agendas, and lots of unfound caches in the area, the goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding geocaches. Here is one we found.

This was day three, and another fifty plus day that had us focusing around Nelson town, starting here at the northern end and working our way south.

The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ

Thanks to BigglesNZ for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

Just walked throu the raupo swamp to find a cache for The Seagnoid. So now I have these on my radar. So its a walk along the boulder bank at 8am in t he morning to get this one snagged and tagged. Cheers.

Its a flying visit to Nelson today instead of flying out to USA. So another early start picking up The Seagnoid at 6am and heading over the hill to amble about Nelson on a fine cool day. Another great caching day and exploration over the hill.

Doing a short walk to gather a few caches on one of our dot days - being blown along by a very cool wind in some spring sunshine - the wind dropped a little as we went down the bank for the find Smile a short hunt around produced a cache - log signed - thanks for the cache Smile

After all the wet weather Tregearp and I needed to get some fresh air and exercise. Tregearp had logged a couple of caches in the general area of this one where, for one reason or another, I had not.

A good excuse for a visit and walk along the beach.

Cache was a quick find with everything in excellent order. Signed log and replaced as found.

Thanks BigglesNZ for another cache.

A quick find with SJT_NZ while having a wander on the boulder bank. All in good order.

08-Jul-19
Found the empty jar under a rock first, figured it was an old cache, then found the proper cache within a metre of it. Log was a bit damp

29-Mar-19
Thanks for the hint, that made it a bit simpler. Quick find this morning and I had the place to myself, although a lady with a dog passed me on the return visit. Cheers Biggles.

This weekend was a planned trip to Nelson that we organised a couple of months back.
My niece was competing in the S.I secondary schools athletics meet at Saxton, (quite successfully as it turned out), and as my brother had organised a house in Tahunanui for 4 days I had a base for a good weekend.
So I took the Friday off work, getting into Nelson while it was still dark in the morning to start a big day targeting highly favoured caches and anything else that took my fancy. Once reaching most of my goals and catching up with the tribe later that afternoon the weekend took a different slant, and it was all about the athletics, catching up and chilling out for most of the next two days.
Jo popped over on Sunday, and after the relays finished we just had time to make the Mapua event in the afternoon, then I grabbed a few more caches on the way home. A great weekend in so many ways, with Nelson turning on some great weather.
Thanks to all the COs, found some good ones

Quite tricky under foot on the way to the cache. Not sure what the jar is that others have mentioned, but I found the cache and the log book is still damp. Tftc

30-Nov-18
An evening stroll along the start of the boulder bank...enjoyed the evening and marvelled at the wonder of nature. Found the jar refered to by previous log...but them found the real cache...everything was wet and I tipped some water out but satisfying find. Tftc

16-Jul-18
Nice hid! Jar was empty, but still a nice find

02-Jun-18
I had a nice walk down the end of the beach while my mother sensibly sheltered herself in the car. Someone has had fun trying to make huts out of the driftwood. I think it would be better to sit rather than walk on the stones myself but walk to this geocache I must. Good little hide tucked in the corner of the Boulder Bank. TFTC. Find #449

Yee haa! Lovely nelson day

25-Sep-17
I have never really spent time walking along here and I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the walking was. It was a wild sort of an afternoon with the wind howling and the skies ready to dump a load of wetness on me. There was one surfer to watch as he bobbed up and down while waiting to catch a wave. The cache was a nice easy find. Thanks BigglesNZ

Out for a walk this morning and grabbing a few caches. Not been found in a while but in great condition. Thanks for the cache.

It was such a lovely day for a walk, we decided to continue on from picking up the challenge cache & pick up a couple more caches.
Took a little while to track this one down, but we got it eventually.

WoW! this will be a memorable cache for us. We had a very long walk along the Boulder bank, one way and then the other. On this side we managed to get to your cache. It is our 900th cache so a milestone for us. Thanks to Biggles.

Finally the wind dropped to what might be called "bearable". This El Nino is driving me a bit nuts... but then, it is a pretty short drive. I work nearby and had been meaning to grab this one for ages. Today, I did. Thanks Biggles!

Today is my daughter's birthday, nightowl19 is 14 years old and it only seems like yesterday that she spotted a hidden box near a path in Scotland and our Geocaching adventure began. Today is the day that Olivia, a k a nightowl19 decides what we're going to do and where we're going to go for her birthday treat. Tally the (sometime) geo-dog was also invited so it was all aboard the geo-mobile for a day around the shops of Richmond, and Nelson. Or not if you're of the male capperz geocaching type.
So, my task was to buy a new caravan leg, move mrs capperz and no19 from one set of shops to another and meet some simple timings. So I loaded the G P S with a couple of D5 solved puzzles along with a couple of others for a 15 find day. Caches in Richmond, Stoke and a few on the boulder bank were all welcome and provided some decent exercise
With the girls dropped off at Nelson C B D and an hour and a half to dispose of I had to cache by phone as the G P S had nothing worthwhile loaded. I'd already found the nearby Challenge cache so Tally the dog an I enjoyed the trip along this part of the boulder bank

NZDi and I had planned a two day caching weekend with the original idea to cache from Blenheim to St Arnaud to Kawatiri Junction to Nelson on Friday, then cache around Nelson on Saturday. We decided this would be too ambitious and scaled it back and started from Kawatiri Junction instead. After getting forty caches on Friday we decided to cache the Boulder Bank then head back to Blenheim. After getting a few caches on the trip out from town, we are now on the Boulder Bank proper and this is our eighteenth find of the day.

Throughout the weekend our logs were signed Kiwimykl + NZDi or KM + ND or variations of the two with or without the date depending on the size of the space available and / or the particular logging requirements of the CO.

After returning from the Cut in record time, I didn't think we would have enough energy for this and the other a little further along. But we had rehydrated and taken some sustenance on board so were ready to go again. I thought the cache would be by the border but the hint said otherwise and was correct.

I was expecting more of a walk to get to this cache, but following the unmarked access road took me to within 500m of the GZ where I was able to park and walk the rest of the way.

Despite there being one other car parked, there was no one in sight, so once again I had the place to myself. Hit the GZ within a few minutes and found the container in the second place I looked. The log was a little damp despite the bag but otherwise all good.

Thanks for the hide in a very peaceful part of Nelson.

After our big walk on the Boulder bank, we were very pleased to see the car and have a sit down. Then we had to decide whether we had the energy to find the last 2 Boulder Bank caches a little bit further north. We saw that we could drive closer to them, so carried on and were happy to get to about 500m of this cache.
The path started off well, then deteriorated into another bouldery slog before the path reappeared again. Maybe part of it was washed away?
Passed a couple of cool tepees, we think a photo of one of them was in the newspaper a few weeks back. Last 40m or so to the cache was a bit of a struggle, but the things we do for a smiley....TFTC.

#9370. We had just enough energy for a bit more walking, so carried on to finish the last two caches in the area. Generally the going was a lot better than further down the boulder bank, with just a couple of stretches of uneven terrain. TFTC.

[green] On a day excursion from Blenheim to Nelson with Taybee and TaybeeNZ. Rained over the hill but nice and clear here. We were hoping to drive out on the boulder bank, but that's a no go so we walked up this way instead. This is my first trip with the Taybee Clan and I got my introduction to their technique. Taybee points in the general direction and TaybeeNZ dashes off, finds and retrieves the cache before I have a chance to blink. They are a pretty awesome team to watch!
Starting to wonder if I will beat the little blighter to any cache today.
Found some interesting... tents? and messages along this beach - check out the photos.
Log was very wet, but still writeable.

One of 4 caches collected on our trip down Boulder Bank Drive today. We got wet through on the front on the way here and wet through on the back on our return. Much better than being on the couch though, thanks for the motivation. TFTC

PS I think that the features here may be "Snapper Point" which is a fishing spot I have heard about along the boulder bank in this area. I have not fished this area much and had very poor results when I have!
